  • Python - Calling a non python program from python?

    - by Seafoid
    Hi, I am currently struggling to call a non python program from a python script. I have a ~1000 files that when passed through this C++ program will generate ~1000 outputs. Each output file must have a distinct name. The command I wish to run is of the form: program_name -input -output -o1 -o2 -o3 To date I have tried: import os cwd = os.getcwd() files = os.listdir(cwd) required_files = [] for i in file: if i.endswith('.ttp'): required_files.append(i) So, I have an array of the neccesary files. My problem - how do I iterate over the array and for each entry, pass it to the above command (program_name) as an argument and specify a unique output id for each file? Much appreciated, S :-)

  • How to set foreground Window from Powershell event subscriber action

    - by guillermooo
    I have a FileSystemWatcher instance running in the background of my PoSh session watching for changes to text files. A PoSh event subscriber is attached to this event and, when fired, it launches a console program by calling Start-Process. This program steals de focus from the current foreground window (my PoSh console). Calling SetForegroundWindow from the PoSh event subscriber to return the focus to my PoSh console doesn't work. SwitchToThisWindow does work most of the time, but according to the MSDN docs, it shoulnd't be used. Can I prevent Start-Process from stealing the focus in this situation or set it back from the event subscriber to the window that had it before this event is fired?

  • Forbidden Patterns Check-In Policy in TFS 2010

    - by Jaxidian
    I've been trying to use the Forbidden Patterns part of the TFS 2010 Power Tools and I'm just not understanding something - I simply cannot get anything to change as I try to use this! I'm using the version that was released recently (I believe April 23, 2010), so it's not an old version. First off, yes, I know it's regex based, so let's clear that doubt... I have tried to block the following scenarios: 1) I have modified all of my T4 EF templates to generate files named EntityName.gen.cs. I then attempted to prevent TFS from wanting to check those files in. I used the regular expression \.gen\.cs\z and it didn't change a single thing! I even tried it without the \z and nadda! 2) I don't want app.config and web.config files to be checked-in by default because we have these things stored into app.config.base and web.config.base files that our build scripts use to generate our per-environment app.config and web.config files. As such, I tried the following regexes and again, nothing worked! web\.config\z, app\.config\z, web\.release\.config\z and web\.debug\.config\z. What is it that I am screwing up with this?

  • ProtectedData.Unprotect() after Impersonate()

    - by Andrey
    The following code doesn't work: IntPtr token = Win32Dll.LogonUser(“user1”, “mydomain”, “password1”); WindowsIdentity id = new WindowsIdentity(token); WindowsImpersonationContext ic = id.Impersonate(); byte[] unprotectedBytes = ProtectedData.Unprotect(passwordBytes, null, DataProtectionScope.CurrentUser); password = Encoding.Unicode.GetString(unprotectedBytes); ic.Undo(); The password is not decrypted. MSDN said "If you use this method during impersonation, you may receive the following error: "Key not valid for use in specified state." This error can be prevented by loading the profile of the user you want to impersonate, before calling the method." I would be very grateful for the help!

  • Error message: "Two different contracts have the same ConfigurationName" when downloading wsdl from

    - by rwwilden
    I get the following error message when I try to use svcutil to generate a client proxy for a xamlx file that is hosted by AppFabric beta 2: Two different contracts have the same ConfigurationName I understand the message, however, I cannot find its cause or how to fix it. I'm following the 'Introduction to Workflow Services' lab from the VS2010RC training kit. The web application has two services: SubmitApplication.xamlx and EducationScreening.xamlx. I'm not sure why but both of them have four endpoints. If I take a look via the AppFabric Dashboard in IIS Mgmt Studio: basicHttpBinding (Contract: *) (Type: Application(Default)) netNamedPipeBinding (Contract: System.ServiceModel.Activities.IWorkflowInstanceManagement) (Type: System (workflowControlEndpoint)) netNamedPipeBinding (Contract: *) (Type: Application (Default)) serviceMetadataHttpGetBinding (Contract: serviceMetadataHttpGetContract) (Type: System (serviceMetadataEndpoint)) When taking a look at the SubmitApplication.xamlx in a browser, I see the following stacktrace: [InvalidOperationException: Two different contracts have the same ConfigurationName.] System.ServiceModel.Activities.WorkflowServiceHost.CreateDescription(IDictionary`2& implementedContracts) +361 System.ServiceModel.ServiceHostBase.InitializeDescription(UriSchemeKeyedCollection baseAddresses) +174 System.ServiceModel.Activities.WorkflowServiceHost.InitializeDescription(WorkflowService serviceDefinition, UriSchemeKeyedCollection baseAddresses) +82 System.ServiceModel.Activities.WorkflowServiceHost.InitializeFromConstructor(WorkflowService serviceDefinition, Uri[] baseAddresses) +206 System.ServiceModel.Activities.Activation.WorkflowServiceHostFactory.CreateWorkflowServiceHost(WorkflowService service, Uri[] baseAddresses) +43 System.ServiceModel.Activities.Activation.WorkflowServiceHostFactory.CreateServiceHost(String constructorString, Uri[] baseAddresses) +974 System.ServiceModel.HostingManager.CreateService(String normalizedVirtualPath) +1423 System.ServiceModel.HostingManager.ActivateService(String normalizedVirtualPath) +50 System.ServiceModel.HostingManager.EnsureServiceAvailable(String normalizedVirtualPath) +1132 [ServiceActivationException: The service '/HRApplicationServices/SubmitApplication.xamlx' cannot be activated due to an exception during compilation. I haven't configured any of the bindings myself. The BasicHttpBinding is what you get by default in .NET 4 when hosting a service inside a web application. The other bindings are configured by AppFabric. I can't find their configuration anywhere. Kind regards, Ronald Wildenberg

  • PDF rendering crashes app Core Graphics

    - by Felixyz
    EDIT: The memory leaks turned out to be unrelated to the crashes. Leaks are fixed but crashes remain, still mysterious. My (iPhone) app does lots of PDF loading and rendering, some of it threaded. Sometime, it seems always after I flush a page cash after getting a memory warning, the app crashes with a bad access when trying to draw a pdf page stored in an NSData object. Here is one example trace: #0 0x3016d564 in CGPDFResourcesGetResource () #1 0x3016d58a in CGPDFResourcesGetResource () #2 0x3016d94e in CGPDFResourcesGetExtGState () #3 0x3015fac4 in CGPDFContentStreamGetExtGState () #4 0x301629a8 in op_gs () #5 0x3016df12 in handle_xname () #6 0x3016dd9e in read_objects () #7 0x3016de6c in CGPDFScannerScan () #8 0x30161e34 in CGPDFDrawingContextDraw () #9 0x3016a9dc in CGContextDrawPDFPage () But sometimes I get this instead: Program received signal: “EXC_BAD_ACCESS”. (gdb) bt #0 0x335625fa in objc_msgSend () #1 0x32c04eba in CFDictionaryGetValue () #2 0x3016d500 in get_value () #3 0x3016d5d6 in CGPDFResourcesGetFont () #4 0x3015fbb4 in CGPDFContentStreamGetFont () #5 0x30163480 in op_Tf () #6 0x3016df12 in handle_xname () #7 0x3016dd9e in read_objects () #8 0x3016de6c in CGPDFScannerScan () #9 0x30161e34 in CGPDFDrawingContextDraw () #10 0x3016a9dc in CGContextDrawPDFPage () Is this an indication that I've mistakenly deallocated an object? It's hard for me to decode what's happening here. This is how I create and retain the various objects involved: // Some data was just loaded from the network and is pointed to by "data" self.pdfData = data; _dataProviderRef = CGDataProviderCreateWithData( NULL, [_pdfData bytes], [_pdfData length], NULL ); _documentRef = CGPDFDocumentCreateWithProvider(_dataProviderRef); _pageRef = CGPDFDocumentGetPage(_documentRef, 1); CGPDFPageRetain(_pageRef); _pdfFrame = CGPDFPageGetBoxRect(_pageRef, kCGPDFArtBox); So the NSData object is retained, and I explicitly retain the page reference. The data provider and the document are already retained by the create-functions. And here is my dealloc method: -(void)dealloc { if (_pageRef) CGPDFPageRelease(_pageRef); if (_documentRef) CGPDFDocumentRelease(_documentRef); if (_dataProviderRef) CGDataProviderRelease(_dataProviderRef); self.pdfData = nil; [super dealloc]; } Am I doing anything wrong? Even an assurance that I'm not, with explanation, would be a help.

  • -[UIImage drawInRect:] / CGContextDrawImage() not releasing memory?

    - by sohocoke
    I wanted to easily blend a UIImage on top of another background image, so wrote a category method for UIImage, adapted from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1309757/blend-two-uiimages : - (UIImage *) blendedImageOn:(UIImage *) backgroundImage { NSAutoreleasePool* pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(backgroundImage.size); CGRect rect = CGRectMake(0, 0, backgroundImage.size.width, backgroundImage.size.height); [backgroundImage drawInRect:rect]; [self drawInRect:rect]; UIImage* blendedImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); [pool release]; return blendedImage; } Unfortunately my app that uses the above method to load around 20 images and blend them with background and gloss images (so probably around 40 calls), is being jettisoned on the device. An Instruments session revealed that calls to malloc stemming from the calls to drawInRect: are responsible for the bulk of the memory usage. I tried replacing the drawInRect: messages with equivalent function calls to the function CGContextDrawImage but it didn't help. The AutoReleasePool was added after I found the memory usage problem; it also didn't make a difference. I'm thinking this is probably because I'm not using graphics contexts appropriately. Would calling the above method in a loop be a bad idea because of the number of contexts I create? Or did I simply miss something?

  • SL3/SL4 - Ado.Net Data Services Error during new DataServiceCollection<T>(queryResponse)

    - by Soulhuntre
    Hey all, I have two functions in a SL project (VS2010) that do almost exactly the same thing, yet one throws an error and the other does not. It seems to be related to the projections, but I am unsure about the best way to resolve. The function that works is... public void LoadAllChunksExpandAll(DataHelperReturnHandler handler, string orderby) { DataServiceCollection<CmsChunk> data = null; DataServiceQuery<CmsChunk> theQuery = _dataservice .CmsChunks .Expand("CmsItemState") .AddQueryOption("$orderby", orderby); theQuery.BeginExecute( delegate(IAsyncResult asyncResult) { _callback_dispatcher.BeginInvoke( () => { try { DataServiceQuery<CmsChunk> query = asyncResult.AsyncState as DataServiceQuery<CmsChunk>; if (query != null) { //create a tracked DataServiceCollection from the result of the asynchronous query. QueryOperationResponse<CmsChunk> queryResponse = query.EndExecute(asyncResult) as QueryOperationResponse<CmsChunk>; data = new DataServiceCollection<CmsChunk>(queryResponse); handler(data); } } catch { handler(data); } } ); }, theQuery ); } This compiles and runs as expected. A very, very similar function (shown below) fails... public void LoadAllPagesExpandAll(DataHelperReturnHandler handler, string orderby) { DataServiceCollection<CmsPage> data = null; DataServiceQuery<CmsPage> theQuery = _dataservice .CmsPages .Expand("CmsChildPages") .Expand("CmsParentPage") .Expand("CmsItemState") .AddQueryOption("$orderby", orderby); theQuery.BeginExecute( delegate(IAsyncResult asyncResult) { _callback_dispatcher.BeginInvoke( () => { try { DataServiceQuery<CmsPage> query = asyncResult.AsyncState as DataServiceQuery<CmsPage>; if (query != null) { //create a tracked DataServiceCollection from the result of the asynchronous query. QueryOperationResponse<CmsPage> queryResponse = query.EndExecute(asyncResult) as QueryOperationResponse<CmsPage>; data = new DataServiceCollection<CmsPage>(queryResponse); handler(data); } } catch { handler(data); } } ); }, theQuery ); } Clearly the issue is the Expand projections that involve a self referencing relationship (pages can contain other pages). This is under SL4 or SL3 using ADONETDataServices SL3 Update CTP3. I am open to any work around or pointers to goo information, a Google search for the error results in two hits, neither particularly helpful that I can decipher. The short error is "An item could not be added to the collection. When items in a DataServiceCollection are tracked by the DataServiceContext, new items cannot be added before items have been loaded into the collection." The full error is... System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException was caught Message=Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. • Error TF31004 when connecting to TFS2008

    - by Ben
    I'm trying to connect to a TFS2008 server through Visual Studio 2008 (Tools\Connect to Team Foundation Server) and get this error when trying to add our server: TF31004: Team Foundation encountered an unexpected error while connecting to Team Foundation Server . Wait a few minutes and try again. If the problem persists, contact your Team Foundation Server administrator. Needless to say, waiting doesn't help. I've tried using the ip address instead of the hostname but get the same error. I can log in via a browser, in fact IE and Chrome both SSO me straight in. The server is only used for testing one of our TFS plugins, so doesn't get much real use.

  • Mike Cohn-style burndown charts in JIRA

    - by Fuzzy Purple Monkey
    We use Jira/Greenhopper for our project planning/tracking. The built-in graphs are great, but when a new issue/story is added during a project, the whole burn-down graph moves up rather than increasing the part of the graph when the issue was added. Ideally I'd like to generate a Mike Cohn-style burndown graph, which shows a hump when new issues are added. Does anyone know of any plugins that support this, or been able to extract this data directly from the database?

  • PerformanceCounter.NextValue hangs on some machines.

    - by Poma
    I don't know why, but many computers hangs on following operation: void Init() { net1 = new List<PerformanceCounter>(); net2 = new List<PerformanceCounter>(); foreach (string instance in new PerformanceCounterCategory("Network Interface").GetInstanceNames()) { net1.Add(new PerformanceCounter("Network Interface", "Bytes Received/sec", instance)); net2.Add(new PerformanceCounter("Network Interface", "Bytes Sent/sec", instance)); } } //Once in 1 second void UpdateStats() { Status.Text = ""; for (int i = 0; i < net1.Count; i++) Status.Text += string.Format("{0}/{1} Kb/sec; ", net1[i].NextValue() / 1024, net2[i].NextValue() / 1024); } On some computes program hangs completely on first call of UpdateStats(), others experiencing 100% CPU load but program works (slowly). Other counters like new PerformanceCounter("Processor", "% Processor Time", "_Total") seems to work fine. Any suggwstions why is that?

  • How can i programmatically use aero snap features from C# code

    - by user1739957
    I have a simple question. How can I access aero snap programmatically from my C# code. Like, if I click a button "Snap Left", I want my program window to snap to the left, just like when its drug over there manually. I looked all over SO, but all the questions seem to be about aero snap not working with a form, and keeping it from snapping a form. Not programmatically snapping a form. I'm happy to use interloping. Thanks

  • .NET file Decryption - Bad Data

    - by Jon
    I am in the process of rewriting an old application. The old app stored data in a scoreboard file that was encrypted with the following code: private const String SSecretKey = @"?B?n?Mj?"; public DataTable GetScoreboardFromFile() { FileInfo f = new FileInfo(scoreBoardLocation); if (!f.Exists) { return setupNewScoreBoard(); } DESCryptoServiceProvider DES = new DESCryptoServiceProvider(); //A 64 bit key and IV is required for this provider. //Set secret key For DES algorithm. DES.Key = ASCIIEncoding.ASCII.GetBytes(SSecretKey); //Set initialization vector. DES.IV = ASCIIEncoding.ASCII.GetBytes(SSecretKey); //Create a file stream to read the encrypted file back. FileStream fsread = new FileStream(scoreBoardLocation, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read); //Create a DES decryptor from the DES instance. ICryptoTransform desdecrypt = DES.CreateDecryptor(); //Create crypto stream set to read and do a //DES decryption transform on incoming bytes. CryptoStream cryptostreamDecr = new CryptoStream(fsread, desdecrypt, CryptoStreamMode.Read); DataTable dTable = new DataTable("scoreboard"); dTable.ReadXml(new StreamReader(cryptostreamDecr)); cryptostreamDecr.Close(); fsread.Close(); return dTable; } This works fine. I have copied the code into my new app so that I can create a legacy loader and convert the data into the new format. The problem is I get a "Bad Data" error: System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException was unhandled Message="Bad Data.\r\n" Source="mscorlib" The error fires at this line: dTable.ReadXml(new StreamReader(cryptostreamDecr)); The encrypted file was created today on the same machine with the old code. I guess that maybe the encryption / decryption process uses the application name / file or something and therefore means I can not open it. Does anyone have an idea as to: A) Be able explain why this isn't working? B) Offer a solution that would allow me to be able to open files that were created with the legacy application and be able to convert them please? Here is the whole class that deals with loading and saving the scoreboard: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Text; using System.Security.Cryptography; using System.Runtime.InteropServices; using System.IO; using System.Data; using System.Xml; using System.Threading; namespace JawBreaker { [Serializable] class ScoreBoardLoader { private Jawbreaker jawbreaker; private String sSecretKey = @"?B?n?Mj?"; private String scoreBoardFileLocation = ""; private bool keepScoreBoardUpdated = true; private int intTimer = 180000; public ScoreBoardLoader(Jawbreaker jawbreaker, String scoreBoardFileLocation) { this.jawbreaker = jawbreaker; this.scoreBoardFileLocation = scoreBoardFileLocation; } // Call this function to remove the key from memory after use for security [System.Runtime.InteropServices.DllImport("KERNEL32.DLL", EntryPoint = "RtlZeroMemory")] public static extern bool ZeroMemory(IntPtr Destination, int Length); // Function to Generate a 64 bits Key. private string GenerateKey() { // Create an instance of Symetric Algorithm. • Figuring Out Memory Leaks without Clang

    - by RoLYroLLs
    I'm trying to see if I can find some leaks myself in Apple's TopSongs app. Can someone help me out in at least one and how to identify what is in the Leaks reports and how I can get an idea on finding them? ie: I got one like this: # Category Event Type Timestamp Address Size Responsible Library Responsible Caller 0 GeneralBlock-448 Malloc 00:02.185 0x3f41220 448 libxml2.2.dylib xmlNewParserCtxt From what I can tell, the method xmlNewParserCtxt is the problem, and it's not releasing an object, hence Malloc. The responsible library tells me it's the libxml2.2.dylib library with the problem, which I can't edit. Am I heading in the right direction? If so, half the leaks are in that library and well, i can't edit that.

  • Roll up project-level tasks to the project collection portal in TFS2010

    - by adam.mokan
    I have a Project Collection setup in my TFS2010RC deployment. I have two Projects setup under this collection with their own task lists, which are populated with data. I fully expected the tasks from these individual projects to "roll up" and appear in the task list at the Project Collection level, but they do not. The Project Collection task list is empty. Basically, I'm looking to provide a view so a supervisor could see all tasks across projects quickly and easily. I'm sure I could write a reporting services report, but it seems like this is something so basic that it would have been included and it just need to be turned on or something. I'm sure I'm probably missing something really simple here. Thanks.

  • Problem loading Oracle client libraries when running in a NAnt build

    - by Chris Farmer
    I am trying to use dbdeploy to manage Oracle schema changes. I can run it successfully from the command line to get it to generate my change scripts, but when I try to execute it via the dbdeploy NAnt task running through TeamCity, I get an error: System.Data.OracleClient requires Oracle client software version 8.1.7 or greater. I do have the Oracle 10.2.0.2 client software installed. It's the first entry in the system path, and the dbdeploy.exe app is able to successfully negotiate an Oracle connection. The dbdeploy code dynamically loads the System.Data.OracleClient assembly, which in-turn tries to use the Oracle client bits to talk to the database. This is what is failing in my NAnt environment. I have verified the following points: The same user identity is running the process in both cases The same working directory is used in both cases The same dbdeploy code is running in both cases and with the same supplied parameters The same database connection string is being used in both cases The same ADO.NET assembly is being dynamically loaded in both cases (System.Data.OracleClient, Version=1.0.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089) Here's the top of the stack trace during the error: at System.Data.OracleClient.OCI.DetermineClientVersion() at System.Data.OracleClient.OracleInternalConnection.OpenOnLocalTransaction (String userName, String password, String serverName, Boolean integratedSecurity, Boolean unicode, Boolean omitOracleConnectionName) at System.Data.OracleClient.OracleInternalConnection..ctor( OracleConnectionString connectionOptions) at System.Data.OracleClient.OracleConnectionFactory.CreateConnection( DbConnectionOptions options, Object poolGroupProviderInfo, DbConnectionPool pool, DbConnection owningObject) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionFactory.CreatePooledConnection( DbConnection owningConnection, DbConnectionPool pool, DbConnectionOptions options) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionPool.CreateObject( DbConnection owningObject) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionPool.UserCreateRequest( DbConnection owningObject) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionPool.GetConnection( DbConnection owningObject) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionFactory.GetConnection( DbConnection owningConnection) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionClosed.OpenConnection( DbConnection outerConnection, DbConnectionFactory connectionFactory) at System.Data.OracleClient.OracleConnection.Open() at Net.Sf.Dbdeploy.Database.DatabaseSchemaVersionManager. GetCurrentVersionFromDb() My main question is this: how can I discover what's different about these running environments to see why my Oracle client software can't be loaded?

  • Server socket programming in Android 1.5, most power efficient way?

    - by Antek
    Hello people, I am doing a project where I have too develop an application that listens for incoming events by a service. The device that has to listen too events is an Android phone with Android SDK 1.5 on it. Currently the services that call events only implement communication trough UDP or TCP sockets. I can solve my problem by setting up a ServerSocket, but i doubt that's the most power efficient way. This application will be running most of the time, with Wi-Fi on, and I'd like too reach an long battery duration. I've been looking for options on the internet for my question for a while but i couldn't get a real answer. I've got the following questions: What is the most efficient way too listen to incoming events? Should I make an ServerSocket? or what are my options? Are there any other implementations that are more power efficient? Ive been also thinking of implementing communication trough XMPP. Not sure if this is the best way. I'm not forced too an specific implementation. All suggestions are welcome! Thanks for the help, Antek

  • App is getting run in iOS 5.1.1 but crashed in iOS 6.1.3

    - by Jekil Patel
    I have implemented below code but app has been crashed in iPad with iOS version 6.1.3,while running perfectly in iPad with iOS version 5.1.1. when I am scrolling table view continuously it is crashed in ios version 6.1.3. what could be the issue. The implemented delegate and data source methods for the table view are as given below. #pragma mark - Table view data source -(NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { // Return the number of sections. return 1; } -(NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { // Return the number of rows in the section. return [UserList count]; } -(CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { return 70; } -(UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; //cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc]initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; cell = nil; if (cell == nil) { // cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc]initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; } UIImageView *imgViweback; imgViweback = [[UIImageView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,0,0)]; imgViweback.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"1scr-Student List Tab BG.png"]; UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(5, 10, 32, 32)]; UIImageView *imageView1 = [[UIImageView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(12, 5, 50, 50)]; UILabel *lblName = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(110, 5, 200, 40)]; //cell.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; //cell.alpha = 0.5f; CountSelected = 0; flagQuizEnabled = NO; if ([[[checkedImages objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"checked"] isEqualToString:@"NO"]) { // cell.imageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"Unchecked.png"]; //imageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"Unchecked.png"]; } else { //imageView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"Checked.png"]; } NSString *pathTillApp=[[self getImagePath] stringByDeletingLastPathComponent]; NSLog(@"Path Till App %@",pathTillApp); NSString *makePath=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@%@",pathTillApp,[[UserList objectAtIndex:indexPath.row ]valueForKey:@"ImagePath"]]; NSLog(@"makepath=%@",makePath); imageView1.image = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:makePath]; [cell.contentView insertSubview:imgViweback atIndex:0]; [cell.contentView insertSubview:imageView atIndex:0]; [cell.contentView insertSubview:imageView1 atIndex:2]; lblName.text =[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %@",[[UserList objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"FirstName"],[[UserList objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] valueForKey:@"LastName"]]; lblName.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; lblName.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:22.0f]; //lblName.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"HelveticaNeue Heavy" size:22.0f]; lblName.font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"Chalkboard SE" size:22.0f]; [cell.contentView insertSubview:lblName atIndex:3]; [imgViweback release]; [imageView release]; [imageView1 release]; [lblName release]; imgViweback = nil; imageView = nil; imageView1 = nil; lblName = nil; //cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryDetailDisclosureButton; return cell; } #pragma mark - Table view delegate -(void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSLog(@"Values : %@", Val); }

  • Problem releasing UIImageView after adding to UIScrollView

    - by Josiah Jordan
    I'm having a memory problem related to UIImageView. After adding this view to my UIScrollView, if I try to release the UIImageView the application crashes. According to the stack trace, something is calling [UIImageView stopAnimating] after [UIImageView dealloc] is called. However, if I don't release the view the memory is never freed up, and I've confirmed that there remains an extra retain call on the view after deallocating...which causes my total allocations to climb quickly and eventually crash the app after loading the view multiple times. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here though...I don't know what is trying to access the UIImageView after it has been released. I've included the relevant header and implementation code below (I'm using the Three20 framework, if that has anything to do with it...also, AppScrollView is just a UIScrollView that forwards the touchesEnded event to the next responder): Header: @interface PhotoHiResPreviewController : TTViewController <UIScrollViewDelegate> { NSString* imageURL; UIImage* hiResImage; UIImageView* imageView; UIView* mainView; AppScrollView* mainScrollView; } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString* imageURL; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString* imageShortURL; @property (nonatomic, retain) UIImage* hiResImage; @property (nonatomic, retain) UIImageView* imageView; - (id)initWithImageURL:(NSString*)imageTTURL; Implementation: @implementation PhotoHiResPreviewController @synthesize imageURL, hiResImage, imageView; - (id)initWithImageURL:(NSString*)imageTTURL { if (self = [super init]) { hiResImage = nil; NSString *documentsDirectory = [NSString stringWithString:[NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES) lastObject]]; [self setImageURL:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@/%@.jpg", documentsDirectory, imageTTURL]]; } return self; } - (void)loadView { [super loadView]; // Initialize the scroll view hiResImage = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:self.imageURL]; CGSize photoSize = [hiResImage size]; mainScrollView = [[AppScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:[UIScreen mainScreen].bounds]; mainScrollView.autoresizingMask = ( UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight); mainScrollView.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor]; mainScrollView.contentSize = photoSize; mainScrollView.contentMode = UIViewContentModeScaleAspectFit; mainScrollView.delegate = self; // Create the image view and add it to the scrollview. UIImageView *tempImageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, photoSize.width, photoSize.height)]; tempImageView.contentMode = UIViewContentModeCenter; [tempImageView setImage:hiResImage]; self.imageView = tempImageView; [tempImageView release]; [mainScrollView addSubview:imageView]; // Configure zooming. CGSize screenSize = [[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds].size; CGFloat widthRatio = screenSize.width / photoSize.width; CGFloat heightRatio = screenSize.height / photoSize.height; CGFloat initialZoom = (widthRatio > heightRatio) ? heightRatio : widthRatio; mainScrollView.maximumZoomScale = 3.0; mainScrollView.minimumZoomScale = initialZoom; mainScrollView.zoomScale = initialZoom; mainScrollView.bouncesZoom = YES; mainView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:[UIScreen mainScreen].bounds]; mainView.autoresizingMask = ( UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight); mainView.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor]; mainView.contentMode = UIViewContentModeScaleAspectFit; [mainView addSubview:mainScrollView]; // Add to view self.view = mainView; [imageView release]; [mainScrollView release]; [mainView release]; } - (UIView *)viewForZoomingInScrollView:(UIScrollView *)scrollView { return imageView; } - (void)dealloc { mainScrollView.delegate = nil; TT_RELEASE_SAFELY(imageURL); TT_RELEASE_SAFELY(hiResImage); [super dealloc]; } I'm not sure how to get around this. If I remove the call to [imageView release] at the end of the loadView method everything works fine...but I have massive allocations that quickly climb to a breaking point. If I DO release it, however, there's that [UIImageView stopAnimating] call that crashes the application after the view is deallocated. Thanks for any help! I've been banging my head against this one for days. :-P Cheers, Josiah

  • Determing software estimates and tracking past estimates

    - by Casey
    I know that this probably has as many answers as users here on SO, but software estimation always seemed like an esoteric science. Software developers don't have a magic book to refer to as exist in many other industries. I've been spending the last couple of days working on putting together some estimates for a bit of work that I am proposing for a freelance project that I am working on and am having trouble getting it down. I'm not experienced with any real software estimation practices and am trying to go from the gut based on my experience but also trying to be a little loose (not too loose though) on the estimates to leave me a bit of room to work. I read this blog entry http://blogs.popart.com/2007/07/what-scotty-from-star-trek-can-teach-us-about-managing-expectations/ that was linked to from SO and would like to start tracking my estimates at work as well even though I'm not really required to create estimates there. What tools or techniques would you recommend? Also, how much padding do you usually add in to a time estimate?

  • Write a signal handler to catch SIGSEGV

    - by Adi
    Hi all, I want to write a signal handler to catch SIGSEGV. First , I would protect a block of memory for read or writes using char *buffer; char *p; char a; int pagesize = 4096; " mprotect(buffer,pagesize,PROT_NONE) " What this will do is , it will protect the memory starting from buffer till pagesize for any reads or writes. Second , I will try to read the memory by doing something like p = buffer; a = *p This will generate a SIGSEGV and i have initialized a handler for this. The handler will be called . So far so good. Now the problem I am facing is , once the handler is called, I want to change the access write of the memory by doing mprotect(buffer, pagesize,PROT_READ); and continue my normal functioning of the code. I do not want to exit the function. On future writes to the same memory, I want again catch the signal and modify the write rights and then take account of that event. Here is the code I am trying : #include <signal.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <malloc.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <errno.h> #include <sys/mman.h> #define handle_error(msg) \ do { perror(msg); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } while (0) char *buffer; int flag=0; static void handler(int sig, siginfo_t *si, void *unused) { printf("Got SIGSEGV at address: 0x%lx\n",(long) si->si_addr); printf("Implements the handler only\n"); flag=1; //exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { char *p; char a; int pagesize; struct sigaction sa; sa.sa_flags = SA_SIGINFO; sigemptyset(&sa.sa_mask); sa.sa_sigaction = handler; if (sigaction(SIGSEGV, &sa, NULL) == -1) handle_error("sigaction"); pagesize=4096; /* Allocate a buffer aligned on a page boundary; initial protection is PROT_READ | PROT_WRITE */ buffer = memalign(pagesize, 4 * pagesize); if (buffer == NULL) handle_error("memalign"); printf("Start of region: 0x%lx\n", (long) buffer); printf("Start of region: 0x%lx\n", (long) buffer+pagesize); printf("Start of region: 0x%lx\n", (long) buffer+2*pagesize); printf("Start of region: 0x%lx\n", (long) buffer+3*pagesize); //if (mprotect(buffer + pagesize * 0, pagesize,PROT_NONE) == -1) if (mprotect(buffer + pagesize * 0, pagesize,PROT_NONE) == -1) handle_error("mprotect"); //for (p = buffer ; ; ) if(flag==0) { p = buffer+pagesize/2; printf("It comes here before reading memory\n"); a = *p; //trying to read the memory printf("It comes here after reading memory\n"); } else { if (mprotect(buffer + pagesize * 0, pagesize,PROT_READ) == -1) handle_error("mprotect"); a = *p; printf("Now i can read the memory\n"); } /* for (p = buffer;p<=buffer+4*pagesize ;p++ ) { //a = *(p); *(p) = 'a'; printf("Writing at address %p\n",p); }*/ printf("Loop completed\n"); /* Should never happen */ exit(EXIT_SUCCESS); } The problem I am facing with this is ,only the signal handler is running and I am not able to return to the main function after catching the signal.. Any help in this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Aditya

  • new[n] and delete every location with delete instead the whole chunk with delete[]

    - by pmr
    Is this valid C++ (e.g. not invoking UB) and does it achieve what I want without leaking memory? valgrinds complains about mismatching free and delete but says "no leaks are possible" in the end. int main() { int* a = new int[5]; for(int i = 0; i < 5; ++i) a[i] = i; for(int i = 0; i < 5; ++i) delete &a[i]; } The reason I'm asking: I have a class that uses boost::intrusive::list and I new every object that is added to that list. Sometimes I know how many objects I want to add to the list and was thinking about using new[] to allocate a chunk and still be able to delete every object on its own with the Disposer-style of boost::intrusive.

  • How do I generate a Quality Center recordset with C#?

    - by JonnyGold
    I am converting an application that connects to Quality Center via the OTA API from VB.net to C#. The application makes extensive use of recordsets, but I have not been able to get them to work in C#. Specifically, I have trouble casting Command and Recordset to the correct format for C#. Everything I have tried has failed. Following, is an VB.net example of the code that I need to convert. Private Function GetRecSet(ByVal Qry As String, TD as TDConnection) As Recordset Dim Com As Command = TD.Command Com.CommandText = Qry GetRecSet = Com.Execute GetRecSet.First() End Function
