    As the title says, how can i generate the default mongoid.yml config file on Rail 2.3.5? I try to use te ´rails generate mongoid:config´ command but it just generates a new app. And also, i would like to use has_many in mongoid without embeding the associated model in the same field. I would like them to be in seperate fields and associated through a *_id "column". Is that possible? Thank you, Micke.

  • Using will_paginate with AJAX live search with jQuery in Rails

    I am using will_paginate to successfully page through records. I am also using AJAX live search via jQuery to update my results div. No problem so far. The issue I have is when trying to paginate through those live search results. I simply get "Page is loading..." with no div update.   • Passing a ManagedObjectContext to a second view

    I'm writing my first iPhone/Cocoa app. It has two table views inside a navigation view. When you touch a row in the first table view, you are taken to the second table view. I would like the second view to display records from the CoreData entities related to the row you touched in the first view. I have the CoreData data showing up fine in the first table view. You can touch a row and go to the second table view. I'm able to pass info from the selected object from the first to the second view. But I cannot get the second view to do its own CoreData fetching. For the life of me I cannot get the managedObjectContext object to pass to the second view controller. I don't want to do the lookups in the first view and pass a dictionary because I want to be able to use a search field to refine results in the second view, as well as insert new entries to the CoreData data from there. Here's the function that transitions from the first to the second view. - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { // Navigation logic may go here -- for example, create and push another view controller.   • Android Webview : Display numberpad?

    Hi all, I implemented a WebView in my android app displaying a web form. One of the fields ask for the user to manually enter his phone number (in case the phone does not allow extracting of phone number). Right now, the qwerty soft keyboard pops up when user selects the field. Is there a way I can have the numberpad display instead? (Remember I'm using HTML and not native controls) Thanks! Shaun

  • Clarification on recaptcha

    Um so I was in for a little bit of a surprise tonight. I spent a good 20 mins trying to figure out why I was able to submit a form knowing that what I entered into the recaptcha field was invalid. Is it true that you don't need to input the exact words it displays? If it shows me two words and I misspelled one of the words, I still pass validation? Same goes if "hello world" and I input "hell man" it still works.

  • Naming conventions for private members of .NET types

    Normally when I have a private field inside a class or a struct, I use camelCasing, so it would be obvious that it's indeed private when you see the name of it, but in some of my colleagues' C# code, I see that they use m_ mostly or sometimes _, like there is some sort of convention. Aren't .NET naming conventions prevent you from using underscores for member names? And when you mention the MS naming conventions or what not, they tell you it's the best way, but don't explain the reasoning behind it.

  • HTML::Mason file upload

    Recently I've been trying to get some files uploaded on to my server in my HTML::Mason application. All good no problems there apparently Mason a filehandle directly in the argument. The problem is that I cannot retrieve the filename from that filehandle in a elegant way. One method of resolving this issue is parsing the filename on the client before sending it to the server and placing the extracted value in a hidden field so that it gets sent upon submit. BUT that is very unsafe!

    Is this a correct way for id generation in MySQL ? INSERT INTO Picture (PictureId,First_pick,Title,Description,File_Name,Is_Vertical)VALUES ((SELECT max(pictureid)+1 FROM Picture),0,?,?,?,?) I mean if it is guaranted that PictureId will be unique when this query is run by many threads ? I can't modify table structure. I've changed the content to include return this; but the signature is not changed.

I used the custom form and custom backend from that post and the widget and field from this tutorial. My form is displaying properly with the recaptcha widget but when I submit it throws the error about the missing IP. What's the best way to pass the IP using django-registration?

  • Client-side templating frameworks to streamline using jQuery with REST/JSON

    I'm starting to migrate some html generation tasks from a server-side framework to the client. I'm using jQuery on the client. My goal is to get JSON data via a REST api and use this data to populate HTML into the page. Right now, when a user on my site clicks a link to My Projects, the server generates HTML like this: <dl> <dt>Clean Toilet</dt> <dd>Get off your butt and clean this filth!</dd> <dt>Clean Car</dt> <dd>I think there's something growing in there...</dd> <dt>Replace Puked on Baby Sheets</dt> </dl> I'm changing this so that clicking My Projects will now do a GET request that returns something like this: [ { "name":"Clean Car", "description":"I think there's something growing in there..." }, { "name":"Clean Toilets", "description":"Get off your butt and clean this filth!" }, { "name":"Replace Puked on Baby Sheets" } ] I can certainly write custom jQuery code to take that JSON and generate the HTML from it. This is not my question, and I don't need advice on how to do that. What I'd like to do is completely separate the presentation and layout from the logic (jquery code). I don't want to be creating DL, DT, and DD elements via jQuery code. I'd rather use some sort of HTML templates that I can fill the data in to. These templates could simply be HTML snippets that are hidden in the page that the application was loaded from. Or they could be dynamically loaded from the server (to support user specific layouts, i18n, etc.). They could be displayed a single time, as well as allow looping and repeating. Perhaps it should support sub-templates, if/then/else, and so forth. I have LOTS of lists and content on my site that are presented in many different ways. I'm looking to create a simple and consistent way to generate and display content without creating custom jQuery code for every different feature on my site. To me, this means I need to find or build a small framework on top of jQuery (probably as a plugin) that meets these requirements. The only sort of framework that I've found that is anything like this is jTemplates. I don't know how good it is, as I haven't used it yet. At first glance, I'm not thrilled by it's template syntax. Anyone know of other frameworks or plugins that I should look into? Any blog posts or other resources out there that discuss doing this sort of thing? I just want to make sure that I've surveyed everything out there before building it myself. Thanks!

    I am using PChart for PHP to draw graphs, it is working pretty well. I have drawn a graph with intensities (2 = strong, 1 = medium, 0 = low) and I would like to know if is possible to show on the Y axis the description of the data (strong,medium,low) instead of the inappropriate numbers (2,1,0). (I have search a lot without success, theoretically you can only set the X labels according to http://pchart.sourceforge.net/documentation.php?topic=faq.xlabels.) Thanks!

  • Google maps API - info window height and panning

    I'm using the Google maps API (v2) to display a country overlay over a world map. The data comes from a KML file, which contains coords for the polygons along with a HTML description for each country. This description is displayed in the 'info window' speech bubble when that country is clicked on. I had some trouble initially as the info windows were not expanding to the size of the HTML content they contained, so the longer ones would spill over the edges (this seems to be a common problem). I was able to work around this by resetting the info window to a specific height as follows: GEvent.addListener(map, "infowindowopen", function(iw) { iw = map.getInfoWindow(); iw.reset(iw.getPoint(), iw.getTabs(), new GSize(300, 295), null, null); }); Not ideal, but it works. However now, when the info windows are opened the top part of them is sometimes obscured by the edges of the map, as the map does not pan to a position where all of the content can be viewed. So my questions: Is there any way to get the info windows to automatically use a height appropriate to their content, to avoid having to fix to a set pixel height? If fixing the height is the only option, is there any way to get the map to pan to a more appropriate position when the info windows open? I know that the map class has a panTo() method, but I can't see a way to calculate what the correct coords would be.
