• how to change uibutton title at runtime in objective c?

  Hello, I know this question is asked many a times,and i am also implementing the same funda for chanding the title of the uibutton i guess. Let me clarify my problem first. I have one uibutton named btnType, on clicking of what one picker pops up and after selecting one value,i am hitting done button to hide the picker and at the same time i am changing the the title of the uibutton with code [btnType setTitle:btnTitle forState:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [btnType setTitleColor:[UIColor redColor] forState:UIControlEventAllEvents]; But with my surpriaze,it is not changed and application crashes with signal EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I am not getting where i am making mistake.I have allocated memory to the btnType at viewdidLoad. Also I am using -(IBAction)pressAddType { toolBar.hidden = FALSE; dateTypePicker.hidden = FALSE; } event on pressing the button to open the picker. Also i would like to mention that i have made connection with IB with event TouchUpInside for pressAddType. Any guesses? I will be grateful if you could help me. Thanks.

  First off I'm new at programming. I'm creating an app with one navigation bar controller. The app is pretty basic except for a quiz section that is comprised of 12 xibs. As the users takes the quiz a new xib is pushed onto the stack. I want to create a button that takes the user back to the home screen if they do not want to complete the quiz. The back button takes them to the previous xib which could be 11 deep. Is it possible to dismiss the modal views and reload the rootView controller? • New to J2EE; architecture suggestions for a service/daemon?

  I am brand new to the J2EE world. As an exercise to try and familiarize myself with J2EE, I'm trying to create a tiered web-app, but I'm getting a little stuck on what the best way is to spin up a service in the background that does work. Paramters of the service: It must open and hold a socket connection and receive information from the connected server. There is a 1-to-1 correlation between a user and a new socket connection. So the idea is the user presses a button on the web-page, and somewhere on the server a socket connection is opened. For the remainder of the users session (or until the user presses some sort of disconnect button) the socket remains open and pushes received information to some sort of centralized store that servlets can query and return to the user via AJAX. Is there a J2EE type way to handle this situation? Naturally what I would think to do is to just write a Java application that listens on a port that the servlets can connect to and spawns new threads that open these sockets, but that seems very ad-hoc to me. (PS: I am also new to Stack Overflow, so forgive me if it takes me some time to figure the site out!)

  I have a view where user can enter some data. But problem is this: Let's say you have 3 text box on view. Every time user can fill multiple times this 3 text boxes. To clarify, let's say user fills this 3 text boxes and press button which adds on form again these 3 text boxes. Now when user clicks submit this form is sent to controller, but how do I sent List of models as parameter. • jQuery: How to use modifier keys on form submit?

  Say I have a form that looks like this: [ Animal name input field ] Add button If I type a name and hit enter, an animal with the given name is added to a table. Works fine. What I would like now is to call the current way of working "quick add" and add a new feature called "slow add", which I am not quite sure how to do. Basically what I want is that if for example the shift key is held down when enter or the button is clicked, I want the form submit method to do something slightly different. In my case I want it to open up a form where more details on the animal can be added before it is added to the table. Problem is I'm not quite sure how to do this. I have tried add a FireBug console.info(eventData) in my current submit function and I have found that the eventData contains an altKey, shiftKey and controlKey property, but they are always undefined even when I hold those keys down. So, does anyone know how I can do something special in my submit handler when certain modifier keys were pressed when the form was submitted?

  Still getting to grips with jQuery and I am pleased to have got as far as I have, especially help from the posts in this forum. However, now got to a working function that does what I want, that is to create a radio group that looks like a button. It pulls data via json and loops through creating the radio buttons.   Hello there. I am starting to learn visual basic. So far, it is quite simple and easy to use. I am liking it! Anyway, I want to make applications a little bit more complex. So far I have done very silly things. I would appreciate if you could help me with these: How do I open a new window (form)? Maybe I click a button on my main form and another form pops up. How do I "deactivate" the main form while the new form is running? (if I try to click the main form, an error sound plays) So my second form has a text field and a "OK" button. If I click it, the second form closes activating the main form again. I want to "pass" the text in the text field from the second form to the first one. How do I do that? Thank you, I am enjoying this new programming environment (didn't use Visual Studio much before)

  Hi I'm using Silverstripe CMS on the "Simple" template. I'm wondering how to create subtitles for the menu items. The current navigation template is like so: <nav class="primary"> <span class="nav-open-button">²</span> <ul> <% loop $Menu(2) %> <li class="$LinkingMode"><a href="$Link" title="$Title.XML">$MenuTitle.XML</a></li> <% end_loop %> </ul> I'm thinking i could somehow edit $Menutitle.XML but how? Also the sub title should be displayed directly under the Title but as the same button. The SubTitle would need to have a different css rule so that it could be smaller. I know that the CMS has an area for me to edit the page titles which become the menu titles, would it be easy to add a subtitle to the admin like that or is there some other easier way? I only need to make a few of them.

• JS window.close() let IE hang

  Hi all, for reason I won't bore you with, I'm writing an asp.net application that must open some pages in new browser windows. I managed to open them within a postback (don't ask why, I just needed to) with this code: script = String.Format(@"window.open(""{0}"", ""{1}"");", url, target); ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(page, typeof(Page), "Redirect", script, true); Now I have new windows each one with a button that should close it. I have simply an onclick="window.close()" (but that prompts me when I'm closing the browser) or window.open('','_self','');window.close() (horrible, I agree but it's the only way I found to avoid the JS prompt) On firefox it works perfectly but on IE7 (the browser our customers have) after 2-3 times I use that button to close the window I can't open other windows (in both cases, with or without the JS prompt). With the method above it does nothing, and with a <a href="mypage.aspx" target="_blank">click me</a> a new window is opened but hangs on loading (it doesn't even calls the Page_Load). What could be the cause? How can I solve this? Thank you.

  Hi, this is just a question to discuss - what is the best way to make a view/edit control in WPF? E.g. we have an entity object Person, that has some props (name, surname, address, phone etc.). One presentation of the control would be a read-only view. And the other would have the edit view for this same person. • How can I make a new CTP (CakePHP) file in NetBeans?

  I have found a lot of info about adding CTP file support for NetBeans, but this is usually talking about code highlighting and treating a ctp file like a php file. This can be done at: Tools - Options - Miscellaneous - Files I have done this. However, when I try to create a NEW ctp file. I do not have the option. I tried going to Tools -> Templates to add a ctp template. There is no "new" button just an "add" button that looks for a file. I created a file on my desktop called cake_template.ctp on my desktop. I added it to the PHP templates in the template manager. I called the template "PHP Cake Template". Still when I go to create a new file, the option is not there. I restarted NetBeans, still the same. I just want to create a new .ctp file, it shouldn't be this difficult. Does anyone know how? I am using version 6.9.1

  First of all I will explain how I stumbled into this behavior. Within my web application I am using some custom validation for my form fields. Within the same form I have two buttons. One to actually submit the form and the other to cancel/reset the form. Mostly I use Safari as my default browser. Now Safari 5 is out and suddenly my cancel/reset button didn't work anymore. Every time I did hit the reset button the first field in my form did get the focus. However this is the same behavior as my custom form validation. When trying it with another browser everything just worked fine. I had to be a Safari 5 problem. I changed a bit in my Javascript code and I found out that the following line was causing the problem: document.getElementById("somefield").required = true; To be sure that would be really the problem I created a test scenario: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>Test</title> </head> <body> <form id="someform"> <label>Name:</label>&nbsp;<input type="text" id="name" required="true" /><br/> <label>Car:</label>&nbsp;<input type="text" id="car" required="true" /><br/> <br/> <input type="submit" id="btnsubmit" value="Submit!" /> </form> </body> </html> What I expected would happen did happen. The first field "name" did get the focus automatically. Anyone else stumbled into this?

• Clickable label not working in IE 8

  I've got the following list item: <li> <input value="someRadioButton" name="ctl00$mainContent$group" type="radio" id="ctl00_mainContent_somelRadioButton" onclick="showSomeInfo()" /> <label for="ctl00_mainContent_someRadioButton"><img class="extraPadding-Right-10" src="https://xxy.com/some_mark_37x23.gif" /></label> </li> So what shows up is a radio button and an image next to it. When I am in FireFox, Chrome, and Safari clicking on that image fires the showSomeInfo() that's specified in the radio's onclick. I'm not sure why I guess because it's wrapped in a label and that label is relating to that radio button.... But anyway that's not my problem. I like that when you click the image, that javascript method showSomeInfo() is called. But the problem is that it works in all browsers except IE 8. If I open this page in IE 8, clicking on the image does nothing and I'm not sure why. I'm baffled at this one.

  The Problem I have a page with a form on. It has a hidden field called: generic_portrait I want the user to click a link "select portrait" This will open a Dialog/Popup using jQuery, based on a dropdown completed earlier in the form. If the value of the dropdown called "gender" is "male" then show male options, if "gender" is set to "female" show female options. Each portrait has a radio button, each with a name assigned "male1", "male2" etc Depending on the radio button selected in the popup, I want the hidden field to be set to match this. The Questions What is the best way to show a dialog/popup using jQuery, different depending on a dropdown box on the page. Use Javascript to see what is selected, then show a corresponding Div? I can do the check to see what the dropdown is set to using jQuery, but how can I then shown a specific popup based on that? Once i've popped it up, how do I take the value assigned to the selected radio box, and set the hidden field called "generic_portrait" to this value. Why i'm asking Normally I would figure this out myself, as i'm sure it's not that difficult, but I don't use Javascript and/or PHP very often, and this is due for a client urgently. So I would really, really appreciate some help on this one. Thanks for all replies in advance.

In NewViewController's loadView event I want to fix the view of the nib of NewViewController class using UIButton's tag property (In NewViewController.xib I'm creating 4 UIViews named view1, view2, view3 and view4). -(void)loadView{ [super loadView]; CGRect frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480); UIView *newView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:frame]; newView.tag = untitledVC.tagNumber; self.view1 = newView; } Now I want that when I click button1 the NewViewController will be generated with view1 and when I click button2 the NewViewController will be generated with view2 and so on with different implementation.
