  • Rails, gmail: howto get plain/text from body

    - by atmorell
    Hello, I am loading am email with IMAP and parsing it with mail. This works very well, however the mail.body.decoded field contains a lot of formatting. How do I dig out the plain/txt body of the email - ignore attachements, formatting etc. It works fine if I try with an email without html. source = imap.uid_fetch(uid, ['RFC822']).first.attr['RFC822'] mail = Mail.new(source) This body content looks like this: Mail::Body:0x7f36ed468270 @epilogue="", @boundary="_004_4C49171DCB8C4540844E69DD39FDD98Ffirm_", @encoding="7bit", @raw_source="--_004_4C49171DCB8C4540844E69DD39FDD98Ffirm_\r\nContent-Type: multipart/alternative;\r\n\tboundary=\"_000_4C49171DCB8C4540844E69DD39FDD98Ffirm_\"\r\n\r\n--_000_4C49171DCB8C4540844E69DD39FDD98Ffirm_\r\nContent-Type: text/plain; charset=\"iso-8859-1\"\r\nContent-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable\r\n\r\ndasdsasda\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMed venlig hilsen / Med V=E4nlig H=E4lsning / Best Regards\r\r\nAsbj=F8rn Toke Morell. .\r\n+45 7020 0160\r\n+45 2152 0015\r\n[cid:[email protected]]\r\nhttp://www..dk\r\n\r\n\r\n--_000_4C49171DCB8C4540844E69DD39FDD98Ffirm_\r\nContent-Type: text/html; charset=\"iso-8859-1\"\r\nContent-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable\r\n\r\n<html>headheadbody style3D"word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode:=\r\n space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">dasdsasda<br><div apple-co=\r\nntent-edited=3D"true">\r\n<span class=3D"Apple-style-span" style=3D"border-collapse: separate; color:=\r\n rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium; font-style: norma=\r\nl; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-=\r\nheight: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: auto; text-indent: 0px; text-transf=\r\norm: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-borde=\r\nr-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 0px; -webkit-te=\r\nxt-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-tex=\r\nt-stroke-width: 0px; "><span class=3D"Apple-style-span" style=3D"font-famil=\r\ny: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; "><span class=3D"Apple-style-span"=\r\n style=3D"border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helv=\r\netica; font-size: medium; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-we=\r\night: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text=\r\n-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-sp=\r\nacing: 0px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical=\r\n-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-=\r\nadjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; "><span class=3D"Apple-style-=\r\nspan" style=3D"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; "><div st=\r\nyle=3D"margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-=\r\nleft: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; "><font class=\r\n=3D"Apple-style-span" color=3D"#000080" face=3D"'Times New Roman', serif" s=\r\nize=3D"3"><span class=3D"Apple-style-span" style=3D"font-size: 13px; "><br =\r\nclass=3D"Apple-interchange-newline"><br></span></font></div><div style=3D"m=\r\nargin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0c=\r\nm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; "><font class=3D"Appl=\r\ne-style-span" color=3D"#000080" face=3D"'Times New Roman', serif" size=3D"3=\r\n"><span class=3D"Apple-style-span" style=3D"font-size: 13px; "><br></span><=\r\n/font></div><div style=3D"margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-bottom=\r\n: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-s=\r\nerif; "><span style=3D"font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', ser=\r\nif; color: navy; ">Med venlig hilsen / Med V=E4nlig H=E4lsning / Best Regar=\r\nds&nbsp;<br>firm<br>Asbj=F8rn Toke Morell...   • jQuery UI portlets - toggle portlets to save to a cookie (half way there!)

    - by Gareth
    Hi, I'm a bit of a jQuery n00b so please excuse me if this seems like a stupid question. I am creating a site using the jQuery UI more specifically the sortable portlets. I have been able store whether or not a portlet is has been open or closed to a cookie. This is done using the following code. The slider ID is currently where the controls are stored to turn each portlet on and off. var cookie = $.cookie("hidden"); var hidden = cookie ? cookie.split("|").getUnique() : []; var cookieExpires = 7; // cookie expires in 7 days, or set this as a date object to specify a date // Remember content that was hidden $.each( hidden, function(){ var pid = this; //parseInt(this,10); $('#' + pid).hide(); $("#slider div[name='" + pid + "']").addClass('add'); }) // Add Click functionality $("#slider div").click(function(){ $(this).toggleClass('add'); var el = $("div#" + $(this).attr('name')); el.toggle(); updateCookie(el); }); $('a.toggle').click(function(){ $(this).parents(".portlet").hide(); // *** Below line just needs to select the correct 'id' and insert as selector i.e ('#slider div#block-1') and then update cookie! *** $('#slider div').addClass('add'); }); // Update the Cookie function updateCookie(el){ var indx = el.attr('id'); var tmp = hidden.getUnique(); if (el.is(':hidden')) { // add index of widget to hidden list tmp.push(indx); } else { // remove element id from the list tmp.splice( tmp.indexOf(indx) , 1); } hidden = tmp.getUnique(); $.cookie("hidden", hidden.join('|'), { expires: cookieExpires } ); } }) // Return a unique array. Array.prototype.getUnique = function() { var o = new Object(); var i, e; for (i = 0; e = this[i]; i++) {o[e] = 1}; var a = new Array(); for (e in o) {a.push (e)}; return a; } What I would like to do is also add a [x] into the corner of each portlet to give the user another way of hiding it but I'm unable to currently get this to store within the Cookie using the code above. Can anyone give me a pointer of how I would do this? Thanks in advance! Gareth

  • Attempting to extract a pattern within a string

    - by Brian
    I'm attempting to extract a given pattern within a text file, however, the results are not 100% what I want. Here's my code: import java.util.regex.Matcher; import java.util.regex.Pattern; public class ParseText1 { public static void main(String[] args) { String content = "<p>Yada yada yada <code> foo ddd</code>yada yada ...\n" + "more here <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> etc etc\n" + "more here again <2004-09-24> bar<Bob Joe> <Fred Kej> etc etc\n" + "more here again <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe><Fred Kej> etc etc\n" + "and still more <2004-08-21><2004-08-21> baz <John Doe> and now <code>the end</code> </p>\n"; Pattern p = Pattern .compile("<[1234567890]{4}-[1234567890]{2}-[1234567890]{2}>.*?<[^%0-9/]*>", Pattern.MULTILINE); Matcher m = p.matcher(content); // print all the matches that we find while (m.find()) { System.out.println(m.group()); } } } The output I'm getting is: <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-09-24> bar<Bob Joe> <Fred Kej> <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe><Fred Kej> <2004-08-21><2004-08-21> baz <John Doe> and now <code> The output I want is: <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-08-24> bar<Bob Joe> <2004-08-21> baz <John Doe> In short, the sequence of "date", "text (or blank)", and "name" must be extracted. Everything else should be avoided. For example the tag "Fred Kej" did not have any "date" tag before it, therefore, it should be flagged as invalid. Also, as a side question, is there a way to store or track the text snippets that were skipped/rejected as were the valid texts. Thanks, Brian

  • How do validate a string as DateTime using FluentValidation

    - by Richard Nienaber
    With FluentValidation, is it possible to validate a string as a parseable DateTime without having to specify a Custom() delegate? Ideally, I'd like to say something like the EmailAddress function, e.g.: RuleFor(s => s.EmailAddress).EmailAddress().WithMessage("Invalid email address"); So something like this: RuleFor(s => s.DepartureDateTime).DateTime().WithMessage("Invalid date/time");

  • Generic styles for DataGridTemplateColumn Headers & Cells

    - by user557765
    I am struggling to define templates for my DataGrid columns. Here is the code that I have working at the moment: <t:DataGrid.Columns> <t:DataGridTemplateColumn Width="75" > <t:DataGridTemplateColumn.HeaderTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Style="{StaticResource FieldNameVertical}" Text="Date" /> </DataTemplate> </t:DataGridTemplateColumn.HeaderTemplate> <t:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Style="{StaticResource FieldValue}" Text="{Binding ModifiedDate, StringFormat='{}{0:MM/dd/yyyy}'}" /> </DataTemplate> </t:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </t:DataGridTemplateColumn> .. .. .. </t:DataGrid.Columns> I would like to define HeaderTemplate & CellTemplate as reusable styles -- so that each column would be as brief as something like this: <t:DataGrid.Resources> <DataTemplate x:Key="dgHeaderStyle"> <TextBlock Style="{StaticResource FieldNameVertical}" Text="{Binding}" /> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate x:Key="dgCellStyle"> <TextBlock Style="{StaticResource FieldValue}" Text="{Binding}" /> </DataTemplate> </t:DataGrid.Resources> <t:DataGrid.Columns> <t:DataGridTemplateColumn Width="75" Header="Date" Binding="{Binding ModifiedDate, StringFormat='{}{0:MM/dd/yyyy}'}" HeaderTemplate="{StaticResource dgHeaderStyle}" CellTemplate="{StaticResource dgCellStyle}" /> <t:DataGridTemplateColumn Width="100" Header="Dealer" HeaderTemplate="{StaticResource dgHeaderStyle}" CellTemplate="{StaticResource dgCellStyle}" /> ... </t:DataGrid.Columns> Every attempt I make has failed. I had hoped to implement something like the "solution" snippet in the initial entry of WPF DataGrid HeaderTemplate Mysterious Padding. However, I can't seem to adapt it to what I'm doing.

  • Too Many Different Cell Formats

    - by Craig
    I have a massive file with 10 sheets recreated from scratch, 12 sheets updated, 5 sheets loaded with raw data, and 7 sheets that are used by the macros for the report. I have recently added a new sheet and am running into the Excel "Too many different cell formats" problem. I have read some of the google search results and they say I should simplify the formatting, but I don't even know how I got up to 4000 distinct cell formats, let alone how much I'm using which ones, so I can remove some. It is also popping up some times the file is run, but not all, until such time as it comes up, and then it happens every time it is run. Since the macro is doing so much of the work, including creating the 10 sheets from scratch, I am not sure what to do. Does anyone know of a Macro I could run to get a listing of all the cell formats and how many cells are using them? Does anyone know of a program they trust to help remove excess cell formats? Thanks, Craig

  • Hex colors: Numeric representation for "transparent"?

    - by Pekka
    I am building a web CMS in which the user can choose colours for certain site elements. I would like to convert all colour values to hex to avoid any further formatting hassle ("rgb(x,y,z)" or named colours). I have found a good JS library for that. The only thing that I can't get into hex is "transparent". I need this when explicitly declaring an element as transparent, which in my experience can be different from not defining any value at all. Does anybody know whether this can be turned into some numeric form? Will I have to set up all processing instances to accept hex values or "transparent"? I can't think of any other way.

  • Problems with sticky footer - CSS - main content wont go 100% height (float)

    - by Jamie
    I'm trying to implement hxxp://www.cssstickyfooter.com however I am having a few problems! See screenshot: hxxp://img22.imageshack.us/img22/2654/71161106.jpg The div "Content" contains both left and right columns. On smaller resolutions this is working as expected however once the user starts to increase there resolution the content doesn't expand as I intend it to. If you notice the blue box. That should stretch to the footer at the bottom of the page. If you notice that the blue divider line (right_container3-4) stops also at the same point. CODE HTML: hxxp://tinyurl.com/m39x52 CSS: hxxp://tinyurl.com/lb62ej I would apriciate any help at all! I've been racking my brains for ages on this one, its just a small site so I suppose it's not too much of an issue. But it's nice to know all the same! Thankyou P.S. Sorry about the URL formatting

  • How do I verify a DKIM signature in PHP?

    - by angrychimp
    I'll admit I'm not very adept at key verification. What I have is a script that downloads messages from a POP3 server, and I'm attempting to verify the DKIM signatures in PHP. I've already figured out the body hash (bh) validation check, but I can't figure out the header validation. http://www.dkim.org/specs/rfc4871-dkimbase.html#rfc.section.6.1.3 Below is an example of my message headers. I've been able to use the Mail::DKIM package to validate the signature in Perl, so I know it's good. I just can't seem to figure out the instructions in the RFC and translate them into PHP code. DomainKey-Signature: q=dns; a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; s=angrychimp-1.bh; d=angrychimp.net; h=From:X-Outgoing; b=RVkenibHQ7GwO5Y3tun2CNn5wSnooBSXPHA1Kmxsw6miJDnVp4XKmA9cUELwftf9 nGiRCd3rLc6eswAcVyNhQ6mRSsF55OkGJgDNHiwte/pP5Z47Lo/fd6m7rfCnYxq3 DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha1; d=angrychimp.net; s=angrychimp-1.bh; c=relaxed/simple; q=dns/txt; [email protected]; t=1268436255; h=From:Subject:X-Outgoing:Date; bh=gqhC2GEWbg1t7T3IfGMUKzt1NCc=; b=ZmeavryIfp5jNDIwbpifsy1UcavMnMwRL6Fy6axocQFDOBd2KjnjXpCkHxs6yBZn Wu+UCFeAP+1xwN80JW+4yOdAiK5+6IS8fiVa7TxdkFDKa0AhmJ1DTHXIlPjGE4n5; To: [email protected] Message-ID: From: DKIM Tester Reply-To: [email protected] Subject: Automated DKIM Testing (angrychimp.net) X-Outgoing: dhaka Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2010 15:24:15 -0800 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Disposition: inline MIME-Version: 1.0 Return-Path: [email protected] X-OriginalArrivalTime: 12 Mar 2010 23:25:50.0326 (UTC) FILETIME=[5A0ED160:01CAC23B] I can extract the public key from my DNS just fine, and I believe I'm canonicalizing the headers correctly, but I just can't get the signature validated. I don't think I'm preparing my key or computing the signature validation correctly. Is this something that's possible (do I need pear extensions or something?) or is manually validating a DKIM signature in PHP just not feasible?

    Is there a way to store the state of objects in GXT? That is, having a dynamically configurable GUI built in GXT, you can add your own widgets 'on-the-fly' in any order you like - with your own custom everything. Is there a way to save the state of all the objects, so one can load the profile back at a later date?
