  • How to make Resig's micro-templates XHTML compliant?

    Hello, I have been experimenting with John Resig's micro-template, which works great. However, the mark-up will not pass the XHTML 1.0 Transitional validation test. (Among other things, id attributes yield errors.) Replacing tags identifiers <, with [[,]], passes validation. Thus, I created a js script which at load time (jQuery document ready) converts the square brackets back to regular markers. This works fine in FF, but not in IE, Chrome, etc. Scripts embedded within CDATA tags validate as well. Question: Is there a way to insert micro-template in a script and still pass XHTML validation? My idea was to remove the CDATA tags once the page has been loaded. But there are probably smarter ways. (Note: I'd prefer not to inject HTML via js since the mark-up will be difficult to maintain.) PS: I looked at other js templates, but they are either not XHTML compliant or too bulky. TIA for any hints.

  • Twig templates, inheritances and block usage

    I've created three templates using Twig. The first one has block A defined in it, the second one extends from the first one, but includes a third template which sets the content of block A. When loading, through the browser, the url which renders b.html.twig, the content in block A (defined by the 3th template) is not positioned block _A is defined. Can anyone please suggest a solution? EDIT: I have added this to the html page: <div data-bind="template: { name: 'message-template', data: messageViewModel }"></div> I now get the following js error: Uncaught Error: Unable to parse bindings. Message: ReferenceError: $messageViewModel is not defined; Bindings value: template: { name: 'message-template', data: messageViewModel }

  • How should I organize my mvc templates?

    Hi, In the new version of MVC we have been given display and editor templates. I was wondering how to make the best possible use of these. I was at first thinking in the line of creating one for a collection and one for an item in the case I want to display either as a list or single but it does not really make sense to me. I'll show you what I mean and please comment if this is wrong. I have trouble figuring it out myself. <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<IEnumerable<DisplayPhoneModel>>" %> <% foreach (var item in Model){%> <%= Html.DisplayFor(x => item) %> <%}%> So in my tiny reality that would for every item in the model search for a display template for DisplayPhoneModel.   • java web templates across multiple WAR files

    I have a multi WAR web application that was designed badly. There is a single WAR that is responsible for handling some authorization against a database and defines a standard web page using a jsp taglib. The main WAR basically checks the privileges of the user and than based on that, displays links to the context path of the other deployed WARS. Each of the other deployed WARs includes this custom tag lib. I am working on redesigning this application, and one of the nice things that I want to retain is that we have other project teams that have developed these WAR modules that "plug into" our current system to take advantage of other things we have to offer. I am not entirely sure how to handle the page templates though. I need a templating system that would be easy enough to use across multiple wars (I was thinking of jsp fragments??). I really only need to define a consistent header and main navigation section. Whatever else is displayed on the page is up to the individual web project. Any suggestions? I hope that this is clear, if not I can elaborate more.

  • iTextSharp renders image with poor quality in PDF

    Hello, I'm using iTextSharp to print a PDF document. Everything goes ok until I have to print the company logo in it. First I noticed that the logo had poor quality, but after testing with several images, I realize that was the iTextSharp rendering it poorly. The test I did to say this was to print the PDF using my code and then edit the document with Acrobat 8.0 and I drew an image. Then printed the two documents and saw the noticeable difference. My question is that if anyone know if this can be due to a scaling problem where I'm failing to tell iTextSharp how it must render the image or is an iTextSharp limitation. The code to render the image is the following: Dim para As Paragraph = New Paragraph para.Alignment = Image.RIGHT_ALIGN para.Add(text) Dim imageFile As String = String.Format("{0}{1}", GetAppSetting("UploadDirectory"), myCompany.LogoUrl) Dim thisImage As Image = Image.GetInstance(imageFile) thisImage.Alignment = Image.LEFT_ALIGN para.Add(thisImage) The printed images are the following: Image printed directly with iTextSharp Image edited and printed with Acrobat 8 Please let me know if I need to provide more info.     Hi, I've been building a simple ticket system and it's all done and working except for when it receives PDF files via email that have been sent using quoted-printable encoding. I've tried using quoted_printable_decode(), the quoted-printable.decode stream filter, the later just created an empty file. I've also tried using $input = preg_replace('/=([a-f0-9]{2})/ie', "chr(hexdec('\\1'))", $input). However the PDF file is always unreadable. I've compared the original with the rebuilt version and there are a lot of 00 missing and some other characters replaced. original file rebuilt file

  • Pretty print code to PDF

    I'm searching for a tool that will take a source directory and produce a single PDF containing the source code, preferably with syntax highlighting. I would like to read the PDF on my phone, in order to get familiar with a code-base, or just to see what I can learn by reading a lot of code. I will most often be reading Ruby. I would prefer if the tool ran on Linux. I don't mind paying for a tool if it is particularly good. Any suggestions?

    Some PDF files produce garbage ("mojibake") when you copy text. This makes it impossible to search them (whatever you search for will not match the garbage). Does anyone have an easy workaround?     Hi, In our applications we make html documents as reports and exports. But now our customer wants a button that saves that document on their pc. The problem is that the document includes images. Therefore I'm looking for an alternative PDF seems to be a good alternative, does anyone know a good pdf writer for C#? One that has some good references and has been tested properly?     I have an XP machine on which Adobe Acrobat Reader crashes every time as soon as it starts. I've tried reinstalling 9 and it doesn't help at all. If I use it to open a PDF, it displays the first page, and can be scrolled for about 3 seconds before it crashes. Is there some way to debug this?

    Are there any tools that would help with comprehension of technical documents that contain a mix of domain specific and company specific acronyms and jargon?   • pro*C in oracle XE

    I downloaded the free express edition of oracle, Oracle XE. I couldn't find the pro*c compiler in this edition. I read somewhere that oracle 9i client has pro*C, So I presumed that oracle client for 10g XE should have it too and downloaded it. But to my disappointment, I can't find it there too. :(. Is there a way to download the older oracle 9i and use it connect to 10g XE without any compatibility problems?. Or is it possible to download the pro*C compiler alone?. I don't want to download the standard editions as they are too large(2 GB). Thanks.

  • Excel 2003 VSTO convert to PDF

    I have an excel workbook vsto solution that needs to generate a pdf copy of one of its sheets as output. I have a license for abcdpdf .net and tried outputting to html, then using abcpdf to convert the html to pdf, but the excel html markup tries to emulate excel with all 4 worksheets with horrible markup. It also messes up the colors (silver background across entire workbook). Any suggestions? Here is the code I'm currently using to generate the html file: FileInfo excelDoc = new FileInfo(Globals.ThisWorkbook.Path + @"\Document.html"); Globals.Sheet2.SaveAs(excelDoc.FullName, Excel.XlFileFormat.xlHtml, missing, missing, false, false, Excel.XlSaveAsAccessMode.xlNoChange, missing, missing, missing); If I hack away some of the html header tags manually, I can get abcdpf to accept it, but the formatting is a bit off and this solution seems sub optimal.
