  • Access Products/Category/Attribute Info from php with Magento API

    Need to be able to pull Magento products into an external template. Need to be able to get all products data (description, title, attributes, categories, image, etc). And need to be able to filter by category, attribute and also search on name. These calls will be made from the same server that the Magento install is on. What's the best way to do this? Will be using php on both linux & windows (2 separate sites). Have tried using the Magento API & Soap to access from php but haven't been able to get that to work yet. All I get is this error every time. Fatal error: Uncaught SoapFault exception: [WSDL] SOAP-ERROR: Parsing WSDL: Couldn't load from 'http://mymagento.com/cart/index.php/api/?wsdl' : Extra content at the end of the document in.....

  • Arguments of using WCF/OData as access layer instead of EF/L2S/nHibernate directly

    We develop mostly low traffic but highly specialized web applications. Normally we use L2S, EF or nHibernate as access layer and then throws Asp.Net MVC to it and in which for normal crud operations we query the ISession/DataContext directly but for more advanced functions/side effects we put it in a some kind of service layer. Now, i was think about publishing the data through OData (WCF Data Service) and query that from the controllers (or even from jQuery when the a good template engine shows up) and publish the service operations through a WCF service (or as custom methods on the WCF Data Service?). What advantages/disadvantages does this architecture poses? Do I gain something except higher complexity and latency? Better separations of concerns (or is it just a illusion)?

    Hi all, I'm trying to test my iPhone application on the device. I have a mac computer which stores my development environment. Right now I can only access PHP files using the http://localhost/PHPFileLocation which does not work when I try to test my app on real device. How do I configure apache2 to be accessible from outside? Is it possible to configure it to a specific IP address? I want to reach some php scripts located on my development machine running apache2 from my iPhone device. Thanks

  • Adding an expression based image in a client report definition file (RDLC)

    In previous posts, I showed you how to create a report using Visual Studio 2010 and how to add a hyperlink to the report.  In this post, I show you how to add an expression based image to each row of the report. This similar to displaying a checkbox column for Boolean values.  A sample project is attached to the bottom of this post. To start off, download the project we created earlier from here.  The report we created had a “Discontinued” column of type Boolean. We are going to change it to display an “available” icon or “unavailable” icon based on the “Discontinued” row value.    Load the project and double click on Products.rdlc. With the report design surface active, you will see the “Report Data” tool window. Right click on the Images folder and select “Add Image..”   Add the available_icon.png and discontinued_icon.png images (the sample project at the end of this post has the icon png files)    You can see the images we added in the “Report Data” tool window.   Drag and drop the available_icon into the “Discontinued” column row (not the header) We get a dialog box which allows us to set the image properties. We will add an expression that specifies the image to display based the “Discontinued” value from the Product table. Click on the expression (fx) button.   Add the following expression : = IIf(Fields!Discontinued.Value = True, “discontinued_icon”, “available_icon”)   Save and exit all dialog boxes. In the report design surface, resize the column header and change the text from “Discontinued” to “In Production”.   (Optional) Right click on the image cell (not header) , go to “Image Properties..” and offset it by 5pt from the left. (Optional) Change the border color since it is not set by default for image columns. We are done adding our image column! Compile the application and run it. You will see that the “In Production” column has red ‘x’ icons for discontinued products.   • Apache Ant Build command "Access Denied"

    Hey! I am trying to get ant installed and actually already did following this instructions however, I get this error: Buildfile: build.xml does not exist! Build failed which it says there I might get so I just tried executing the next command it says I should(since I'm under Windows it's this one): build -Ddist.dir=<C:\Ant> dist anyway I get "access denied" when hitting enter and I can't figure out why. I also tried build install and build install-lite but I always get that message =/ any ideas why? or what am I doing wrong? Edit Without the < I get a: 'build' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Edit2 Well, my ANT_HOME is in C:\Ant and I'm trying to run the command while placing myself on that folder, isn't that correct?

  • Can you access registers from python functions in vim

    It seems vims python sripting is designed to edit buffer and files rather than work nicely with vims registers. You can use some of the vim packages commands to get access to the registers but its not pretty. My solution for creating a vim function using python that uses a register is something like this. function printUnnamedRegister() python >> EOF print vim.eval('@@') EOF Setting registers may also be possible using something like function setUnnamedRegsiter() python >> EOF s = "Some \"crazy\" string\nwith interesting characters" vim.command('let @@="%s"' % myescapefn(s) ) EOF However this feels a bit cumbersome and I'm not sure exactly what myescapefn should be. So I've never been able to get the setting version to work properly. So if there's a way to do something more like function printUnnamedRegister() python >> EOF print vim.getRegister('@') EOF function setUnnamedRegsiter() python >> EOF s = "Some \"crazy\" string\nwith interesting characters" vim.setRegister('@',s) EOF Or even a nice version of myescapefn I could use then that would be very handy.

  • Save gcc compile status to a text file for Java

    I'm making a C Assessment Program through Java, which has a bunch of programming questions for C, and it lets the user input an answer in the form of C code, and then press a "Compile" button, which is linked to a bat file that runs the user input code through gcc. I've got the input and compiling working, but I need to get the output from the compiler and get that to print textarea within the program. Also, how would I get the output of the compiler if the compile fails because of an error? The way I've got it in my batch file at the moment doesn't put anything in a text file if it fails.

  • Android: How to copy a SQLite database from one application to another

    I have a lite version of an application that uses a SQLite database. I want to copy that database over to the full version of the application when the user installs the full version. I have written some code to perform the file copy, but the lite database file always comes up as unreadable. The file is there and I can point to it, but I can't read it to perform the copy. In the Android documentation, we read: You can save files directly on the device's internal storage. By default, files saved to the internal storage are private to your application and other applications cannot access them (nor can the user). Note the words, "by default". Is there a way that I can override that default and make the SQLite file readable by my other application? Thank you.

    Hi everyone! First, I'm very new in Delphi and COM, but I should build COM application in Delphi. I try to make a COM Interface and Impl class - it works if I call an interface method from Delphi (I create an impl object via TestClient.Create), but if I try to create an object from outer world (from Java, via com4j) my application crashed with following exception: Project Kernel.exe raised exception class $C0000005 with message 'access violation at 0x00000002: read of address 0x00000002'. If I set a breakpoint in QueryInterface - it breaks, but when I come out from function - all crashes. What I'm doing wrong? What I still missing? What I can/should read about COM (in Delphi) to avoid dumb questions like this?

  • Trouble using Loader, can't access properties of loaded swf

    May not have asked question correctly so I’m asking again. I’m using Flash AS3 with code in actions layer. Main movieclip onstage is : design_mc. Within it is a movieclip already in place onstage with an instance name clipart_mc. Now I’m also loading a ListBox to the stage and each time a selection is made from listbox myLoader9 is used to load selected .swf into design_mc.clipArt_mc. Now within each of the .swf files loaded into design_mc.clipArt_mc there is a mc I’d like to color transform called color_mc. So now the listbox is onstage and I make a selection that places heart.swf inside of design_mc.clipArt_mc. I want to access heart.swf so I did this: var child:DisplayObject = myLoader9.content.contentLoaderInfo.content.color_mc; var colorTrans3:ColorTransform = new ColorTransform(); var trans3:Transform = new Transform(child); I still can not get to heart.swf.     Hi, I have a search form on a page that posts back to itself and shows the results, all works fine. I now have a requirement to put the same search form on the site home page. This needs to post back to the search form and run the findResults code. Using the PostBackURL parameter on the home page form's submit button I can hit the search page ok. However, when using the following code in the Page_Load section of the search page I hit the problem of not being able to access data from the posting page as I get the following error message on the line starting "yearList.SelectedValue....": "'Site._default1.Protected WithEvents yearList As System.Web.UI.WebControls.DropDownList' is not accessible in this context because it is 'Protected'".     I want to use the TcpClient and TcpListener to send an mp3 file over a network. I implemented a solution of this using sockets, but there were some issues so I am investigating a new/better way to send a file. I create a byte array which looks like this: length_of_filename|filename|file This should then be transmitted using the above mentioned classes, yet on the server side the byte array I read is completely messed up and I'm not sure why.   • Let MySQL users create databases, but allow access to only their own databases

    I want to have multiple a MySQL users to be able to issue commands like CREATE DATABASE dbTest; But I also want each of these users to be able to see and access only their own databases. All I could find was how to either create the databases by a DBA and grant the privileges on this database to the specific user: GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON dbTest.* TO 'user'; or grant privileges on all databases to a user: GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'user'; But neither is what I want, because it needs to scale and be secure.
