  I'm working with: seam 2.2.2 + hibernate + richfaces + jboss 5.1 + postgres I have an module which needs to load some data from the database. Easy. The problem is, on development it works fine, 100%, but when I deploy on my production server and try to get the data, an error rise: could not read column value from result set: fechahor9_504_; Bad value for type timestamp : [C@122e5cf SQL Error: 0, SQLState: 22007 Bad value for type timestamp : [C@122e5cf javax.persistence.PersistenceException: org.hibernate.exception.DataException: could not execute query [more errors] Caused by: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: Bad value for type timestamp : [C@122e5cf at org.postgresql.jdbc2.TimestampUtils.loadCalendar(TimestampUtils.java:232) [more errors] Caused by: java.lang.NumberFormatException: Trailing junk on timestamp: '' at org.postgresql.jdbc2.TimestampUtils.loadCalendar(TimestampUtils.java:226) I can't understand why it works on my machine (development) and why not on production.   I have a problem when try to add a SubReport to a report. I'm using Visual Studio 2010. I've two report and two DataSet, one of every report. I've created master-report (report1 with DataSet) and i've added a subreport (report2 with DataSet1). • Problems debugging using Cygwin gdb in Eclipse CDT(Helios)

  I am trying to debug an application using Eclipse CDT and cygwin gdb and I am facing a problem if my code calls Sleep(), it looks like whenever a sleep is encountered in the code the debugger seems to go in an infinite loop(I meant it never terminates or hit a breakpoint after sleep). On pressing pause the code is stuck on one of the thread on sigint::interrupt. Even my debugger console windows throw these error in the console output: [New thread 5968.0x1f98] Error: dll starting at 0x774a0000 not found. Error: dll starting at 0x775c0000 not found. [New thread 5968.0x19e8] Any idea what are these errors about? It would be helpful if someone can help me out here as I am new to eclipse and I am used to using VS so it has made be lazy to be honest and expect things to work out of box. Here are more details if required Windows 7 x64 bit. Eclipse 3.6 Helios with CDT plug-in compiled from the CVS head. Cygwin latest from website, I think it is 1.71

• CA2000 and disposal of WCF client

  There is plenty of information out there concerning WCF clients and the fact that you cannot simply rely on a using statement to dispose of the client. This is because the Close method can throw an exception (i.e. if the server hosting the service doesn't respond). Is there something I can do to my code to get rid of the warning or should I use SuppressMessage to hide this warning once I am comfortable that I am doing everything possible to be sure the client is disposed of? • JavaFX Datagrid

  Hi All. Im in the verge of starting a new RIA development. We've been using Flex/Flash for the last 2 years but we were considering using a more OS approach so we though giving JavaFX a try since it seams the only solid option available. However after a couple of days of research we found out that there is not such thing as a datagrid for it, at least not in the core API. For those unfamiliar with Flex, a Datagrid is a component that allows you to display a collection of data in column-row layout (much like a HTML Table on steroids). The beauty of it is that you only need to worry about the data itself as the component does pretty much the rest (sorting, column dragging, etc). Im afraid to ask... but is there something slightly similar for JavaFX? We require nothing as fancy as Flex Datagrids/AdvancedDatagrids, we only require a easy, straight forward way to display grids of data that are able to have a little of interaction like clicking, sorting and that are able to display images, buttons, etc. without having to download a ton of different jars. If there isn´t something out there... This would be a shot in the back of the head to the idea of giving javaFx the chance to compete with flash on our project (which is sad). I really cant believe the SUN people didnt include something like this on the core API...

• WPF, PreviewKeyDown event and underscore char

  Hi, I'm catching key hits with PreviewKeyDown event in my WPF component. I need to distinguish characters being typed: letters vs. numbers vs. underscore vs. anything else. Letters and numbers work fine (just convert the Key property of the KeyEventArgs object to string and work with character 0 of that string), but this won't work for underscore. It's ToString value depends on localized keyboard settings (it shows up as "OemMinus" on EN/US keyboard and "OemQuestion" on CZ/QWERTY keyboard). So how can I RELIABLY find out, if the typed char is underscore in the PreviewKeyDown event? Thanks for any help

• Add an array of buttons to a GridView in an Android application

  I have an application that will have 5-15 buttons depending on what is available from a backend. How do I define the proper GridView layout files to include an array of buttons that will each have different text and other attributes? Each button will essentially add an item to a cart, so the onClick code will be the same except for the item it adds to the cart. How can I define an array so I can add a variable number of buttons, but still reference each of them by a unique ID? I've seen examples of the arrays.xml, but they have created an array of strings that are pre-set. I need a way to create an object and not have the text defined in the layout or arrays xml file. Update - Added info about adding to a GridView I want to add this to a GridView, so calling the addView method results in an UnsupportedOperationException. I can do the following: ImageButton b2 = new ImageButton(getApplicationContext()); b2.setBackgroundResource(R.drawable.img_3); android.widget.LinearLayout container = (android.widget.LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.lay); container.addView(b2); but that doesn't layout the buttons in a grid like I would like. Can this be done in a GridView?

• Flot not displaying x axis labels correctly

• Unable to regress web application from AJAX Control Toolkit 3.0 back to 1.0

  I was recently asked to stop using the Ajax Control Toolkit 3.0 in my application and need to go back to 1.0. Luckily I only have one calendar control which I don't believe will be affected by this. I have removed the reference to the 3.0 .dll and added a reference to the 1.0 .dll. • WPF DataContext does not refresh the DataGrid using MVVM model

  Project Overview I have a view which binds to a viewmodel containing 2 ObserverableCollection. The viewmodel constructor populates the first ObserverableCollection and the view datacontext is collected to bind to it through a public property called Sites. Later the 2ed ObserverableCollection is populated in the LoadOrders method and the public property LoadFraudResults is updated for binding it with datacontext. I am using WCF to pull the data from the database and its getting pulled very nicely.   Is it possible to read a .PST file using C#? I would like to do this as a standalone application, not as an Outlook addin (if that is possible). If have seen other SO questions similar to this mention MailNavigator but I am looking to do this programmatically in C#. I have looked at the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook namespace but that appears to be just for Outlook addins. LibPST appears to be able to read PST files, but this is in C (sorry Joel, I didn't learn C before graduating). Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! EDIT: Thank you all for the responses! It uses the Default Profile (you can edit the default profile by going to Mail in the Control Panel). One major improvement on this code would be to create a temporary profile to use instead of the Default, then destroy it once completed.

Most of people that will see the files have only office 2003 installed, so I need to convert, in my C# code, the final result into a .xls file. • Android: Adding extended GLSurfaceView to a Layout don't show 3d stuff

  I make a game extending the class GLSurfaceView, if I apply SetContentView directly to that class, the 3d stuff and input works great. Now I want to show some items over 3d stuff, so I create a XML with a layout and some objects, and I try to add my class manually to the layout. • No such file to load bundler error for Rails 3

  I have a Rails 3 app ready for staging. I haven't got a VPS host set up yet. As I was planning to have everything on shared host for the first few months. Problem: cd myapp bundle check result: The Gemfile's dependencies are satisfied Passenger error: Error message: no such file to load -- bundler Exception class: LoadError Frustrating thing about shared hosts is that I have to add these lines on config.ru: ENV['GEM_HOME'] = '/home/username/.gems' ENV['GEM_PATH'] = '$GEM_HOME:/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8' Still no luck. Same no such file to load bundler error appears. Has anybody got this working? Rails 3, Debian, shared host (dreamhost)? I could just go ahead and register on Slicehost/Fivebean but before I do, I'd like to know why that error is showing up. Thanks.

• Disk Search / Sort Algorithm

  Given a Range of numbers say 1 to 10,000, Input is in random order. Constraint: At any point only 1000 numbers can be loaded to memory. Assumption: Assuming unique numbers. I propose the following efficient , "When-Required-sort Algorithm". We write the numbers into files which are designated to hold particular range of numbers. For example, File1 will have 0 - 999 , File2 will have 1000 - 1999 and so on in random order. If a particular number which is say "2535" is being searched for then we know that the number is in the file3 (Binary search over range to find the file). Then file3 is loaded to memory and sorted using say Quick sort (which is optimized to add insertion sort when the array size is small ) and then we search the number in this sorted array using Binary search. And when search is done we write back the sorted file. So in long run all the numbers will be sorted. Please comment on this proposal.
