  • Server 2012 DFS New Member Issue

    I am trying to add a new member to our DFS topology. We have 3 DCs (VMs - VMware) running Windows server 2012, two servers are located in or Primary site and the third at our DR site. Currently the two servers at our primary site are currently replicating DFS (full mesh) and are working fine. I have tried several times to add the third DC to our DFS topology, every time i configure the replication path e.g E:\MSI and click ok the MMC snap in crashes. Below is the crash info, any idea what is causing this? What i am doing is fairly straight forward and don't see why this would be happening.   • Windows Server 2008 R2 DFSR Backlog Troubleshooting - Where to look for the cause of the problem?

    Our target server indicates it has hundreds of thousands of backlogged transactions. Our authoritative source server indicates it has no backlogged transactions. No replication is taking place. Tests with plain text files aren't replicating. dfsdiag propogation tests fail to propogate. I've restarted the DFS services. I've restarted the servers. I've created new DFS shares to test with. The authoritative source server indicates it has no backlogs and the target indicates it has backlogs (which are the files it's waiting to receive). Files don't replicate in either direction. 2x Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard servers One server is at each of two sites The DFSR shares are on each respective server \site_1_server_1\users \site_2_server_1\users The sites are connected by a T1 DFSR worked for a week. I added a new share, another folder on the same servers, and that replicated for a weekend but never finished. Then all replication stopped. Is Windows DFSR flaky? What tools should I use and what should I look at to identify what's causing this problem?

  • How do I fix libdispatch problem crashing Mac OS X apps?

    In the last day I have started having a lot of brokenness on my Mac (MacBook Air running Mac OS X 10.6.2 with all software updates). Most noticably, iTunes no longer syncs with my iPhone. It fails with a crash dialog reporting "AppleMobileDeviceHelper quit unexpectedly" and an error dialog "iTunes was unable to load dataclass information from SyncServices. Reconnect or try again later." I've attempted the fix at support.apple.com/kb/HT1747 but it failed. I've also been having problems (at first seemingly unrelated) with the horrible Cisco VPN client, which started giving me this error: Error 51: Unable to communicate with the VPN subsystem I followed the steps at www.anders.com/cms/192/CiscoVPN/Error.51:.Unable.to.communicate.with.the.VPN.subsystem which don't seem to work for me, although I can connect if I use the command line with sudo : sudo vpnclient connect MyProfile I had a look in the Console app at the diagnostic messages and I noticed a pattern, that a number of apps were reporting "BUG IN CLIENT OF LIBDISPATCH". The affected programs are: AppleMobileBackup AppleMobileDeviceHelper Safari Webpage Preview Fetcher cvpnd (the Cisco VPN daemon) Of these, only the last is non-Apple software! The common text in the diagnostic messages is: Exception Type: EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000000000 Crashed Thread: 1 Dispatch queue: com.apple.libdispatch-manager Application Specific Information: BUG IN CLIENT OF LIBDISPATCH: Do not close random Unix descriptors I'm beginning to wonder if there's a permissions problem, or corruption of an important library, ...   • odd problem with jni interacting with dll's - not sure why a change to gc ergonomics fixes it

    We were having a problem with our Tomcat jvm blowing up and giving us an hs_* dump at random times but always in the same spot, that wasn't very informative other than saying we had an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION Commenting out various parts of the java that called particular jni functions just made it blow consistently in another spot. By changing our jvm options from: set PAF_OPTS=-Xms1024m -Xmx32000m -server -XX:+UseParallelGC -XX:+UseParallelOldGC -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseCompressedOops -Djava.library.path="%CATALINA_HOME%"\jni -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote TO set PAF_OPTS=-Xms1024m -Xmx32000m -server -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseCompressedOops -Djava.library.path="%CATALINA_HOME%"\jni -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote The problem went away.     I've been getting errors whenever I try to run the task scheduler for Windows 2008 R2. I read that this issue could be because of Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2449742) and that by uninstalling it I would be able to fix this issue, however I was not able to locate this anywhere in the server. Here's the link if interested Patch wise, everything is up to date. Also, I tried running hotfix KB2688730 to see if that would work after doing some research online, however the hotfix is not applicable to the computer. If anyone could provide some information on how to fix this and get the task scheduler running again it would be extremely helpful!

  • WTH? Upgrading Ubuntu 9.10 to 10.04 Problem: No Internet Connection?

    Earlier today I tried upgrading my Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Kaola from the update manager. (FYI: all 9.10 updates were applied prior to this) Everything was going well downloading until I got an error dialog informing me that some software packages weren't downloaded because of an Internet connection. Would say it was halfway thru. Anyway, Was told that the software packages that it did download, however, would kept and I figure it's not a big deal. Just run it again. But first ran Firefox to verify my connection as I haven't had any connection problems. But my internet connection was/is fine as evident by this posting. With that cleared, I ran the update manager again, clicked on "Upgrade" and this time I received "Could not download the release notes. Please check your internet connection" huh? This is my first time dealing w/ Ubuntu and my first upgrade so I am hoping someone can help. Not sure what the problem can be. I am can surf the web w/ no problems. Please help. PS: There was no installing at any point. Just downloading. PSS: The software it managed to download the first time around is now visible in the update manager but don't think I should install as I see in the compiz description it's for v1:0.8-4-0ubuntu2 I figure it's designed for 10.04 and might ruin things further if I install

But first ran Firefox to verify my connection as I haven't had any connection problems. But my internet connection was/is fine as evident by this posting. With that cleared, I ran the update manager again, clicked on "Upgrade" and this time I received "Could not download the release notes. Please check your internet connection" This is my first time dealing with Ubuntu and my first upgrade so I am hoping someone can help. Not sure what the problem can be. I can surf the web with no problems. PS: There was no installing at any point. Just downloading. PSS: The software it managed to download the first time around is now visible in the update manager but don't think I should install as I see in the compiz description it's for v1:0.8-4-0ubuntu2 I figure it's designed for 10.04 and might ruin things further if I install.

  • Site to Site VPN problem, connection succesful data only oneway?

    To start things off, I'm not the actual Administrator for the VPN Server, but he is also at a loss so I thought I'd ask it here. I know it's a Cisco ASA Firewall/VPN. I have a router that connects to the Cisco VPN server, it does so succesfully. I can ping everything within the remote network and from the remote network into my own. I've been able to SSH into a remote server over VPN as well, it all seems to work; until there's some more data returned. A quick example would be an internal webserver. The default homepage simply redirects, so only sends back HTTP headers with a "Location:". I receive this on my computer, but when I request the actual page then (which isn't that big) I don't get a response at all - it just stalls. And it does this for other services as well, for example SSH. I can do a couple of things while connected, but if there's more than xx output it seems to do nothing. The connection remains active throughout all of this. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before / know what the problem might be? Another user who has a site-to-site connection with this VPN using the -exact same setup- has no problems, the only difference is that I have around 200ms ping to the VPN server/network because of a very long distance (other continent).

    Hi, I have a listview which includes 2 textviews and 1 imageview. Now, the image in imageview will be set on certain conditions otherwise it should be left blank with no image. The problem is the images are not coming in proper rows. Say, for eg the image should be displayed at row 3 but its displayed at row 4. And, in some cases each row will have the same image. Has someone faced this kind of an issue? I am really clueless about the reason behind this. Can anyone point out the problem? Regards Sunil

I noticed that the httpservice requests that runs from the creationComplete event of the application does not always get data from the server. but HTTPservice requests called from user actions always work.   • Ajax problem not displaying data using multiple javascript calls...

    I'm writing an app that uses ajax to retrieve data from a mysql db using php. Because of the nature of the app, the user clicks an href link that has an "onclick" event used to call the javascript/ajax. I'm retrieving the data from mysql, then calling a separate php function which creates a small html table with the necessary data in it. The new table gets passed back to the responseText and is displayed inside a div tag. The tables only have around 10-20 rows of data in them. This functionality is working fine and displays the data in html form exactly as it needs to be on the page. The problem is this. the HREF "onclick" event needs to run multiple scripts one right after the other. The first script updates the "existing" data and inside the "update_existing" function is a call to refresh a section of the page with the updated HTML from the responseText. Then when that is done a "display_html" function is called which also updates a different section of the page with it's newly created HTML table. The event looks like this: Update This string gets built dynamically using php with parameters supplied, but for this example I simply took the parameters out so it didn't get confusing. The "update_existion() function actually calls the display_html() function which updates a section of the page as needed. I need to update a different section of the page on the same click of the mouse right after the update, which is why I'm calling the display_html() again, right after it. The problem is only the last call is being updated on my screen. In other words, the 2nd function call "display_html()" executes and displays the refreshed data just fine, but the previous call to update_existing() runs and updates the database properly, but doesn't display on the screen unless I press the browsers "refresh" button, which of course displays the new data exactly how I want it to, but I don't want the users to have to press the "refresh" button. I tried adding multiple "display_html() calls one right after the other, separating all of them with the semicolon and learned that only the very last function call actually refreshed the div element on the html page with the table information, although all the previous display_html() calls worked, they couldn't be seen on the page without a refresh of the browser. Is this a problem with javascript, or the ajax call, or is this a limitation in the DOM that only allows one element to be updated at a time. The ajax call is asynchroneous, but I've tried both, only async works period. This is the same in both Firefox and Internet Explorer Any ideas what's going on and how to get around it so I can run these multiple scripts?

  • Windows 7 x64 wired connection problem. IP, gateway, dns assigned, can't ping. Network detected as "Network"

    I am having a problem connecting to a specific wired network with my Latitude E6410 laptop. Other wired networks seem to work fine, but this one does not. I have a coworker with me with the same Intel 82577LM Gigabit Network card, and he can connect just fine. I've updated to the latest Intel drivers (11.8.75.0) and am not using Pro Set. I obtain all DHCP information just fine (IP, netmask, DNS server, default gateway). I cannot ping anything (internal or on the Internet - I tried pinging Google's public DNS servers by IP 8.8.8.8), nor can I get answers to any DNS queries through NS Lookup. Windows troubleshooting says everything is fine, but I can't get DNS responses. I've seen issues like this in the past that were related to link speed/duplex autonegotiaion failures, so I've tried manually setting link speed/duplex to all values one by one with no success. My coworker is using all default settings, so he is just using autonegotiate. Any ideas of other things to try?

  • jqGrid local date manipulation; problem with row ids when deleting and adding new rows

    I'm using jqGrid as a client side grid input, allowing the user to input multiple records before POSTing all the data back at once. I'm having a problem where if the user has added a few records (say 3 ) the id's for the records will be 1,2,3. if the user deletes record 2, you're left with 1 and 3 for the id of the records. When the user now adds a new records, jqGrid assigns that records the id 3 again since it just seems to count the total records and increments it by one for the new record. This causes problems when selecting rows as now the row id's are 1, 3 and 3. Does anyone know how to access the row ids of records as I could probably use the afterSubmit event and reassign the row id's increasing from 1. ( so after i delete row id 2, this will set the other row id's to 1 and 2) Any other suggestions to solve this problem? Thanks

  • Sony PMB causing failure to load Windows 7 Pro 64-bit normally or even Safe Mode

    After installing Sony's Picture Motion Browser on my desktop with Windows 7 Pro x64, it always goes to Startup Repair due to Windows 7 failing to start. This always happens after I try to install it. I've installed with all unnecessary programs closed and all disk drives and unnecessary usb ports empty. I don't exactly know what is causing the problem. Any ideas? That would look stupid. When adding multiple counters, only one of the counters would count. When removing the queue function, both counters would work, but as you can imagine, the delay of the text() would be gone (as it isnt fx-category). It is probably a bit tricky to make out how I can have multiple counters, and still delay the text()-function by 100ms, but I was hoping there is somebody here with spare brain capacity for these things ;) You can see a (NSFW) problem demo here: Just look underneath the sharing icons and you will notice that the text changes WHILE the objects fade out. Looking for some help to sove this problem. I would like to call the text() function once the text has faded to opacity 0, then fade in once the text() has executed. Thank you for your time.

However the combo box contains options One, Two and Three. Also, I have initialized the SelectedOption to contain the first item, i:e One. problem 2. . Let suppose, I have added a single row in a listview and I have selected Option "one" in the combo box manually. Now when I perform Move Up or Move Down operations the selected index of a combo box is again set to -1. In the Move Up or Move Down operation , I am calling MoveUp and MoveDown methods of the Observable collection. Probelm 3 How to serialize the entire collection in XML. Since I can't serialize the Dictionary and KeyValue Pair. I have to restore the state of the listview.
