• How to bind dropdownlist data to complex class?

  Hi I am using asp.net mvc 2.0(default binding model) and I have this problem. I have a strongly typed view that has a dropdownlist <%= Html.DropDownList("List", "-----")%> Now I have a model class like Public class Test() { public List { get; set; } public string Selected {get; set;} } Now I have in my controller this public ActionResult TestAction() { Test ViewModel = new Test(); ViewModel.List = new SelectList(GetList(), "value", "text", "selected"); return View(Test); } [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult TestAction(Test ViewModel) { return View(); } Now when I load up the TestAction page for the first time it populates the dropdown list as expected. Now I want to post the selected value back to the server(the dropdownlist is within a form tag with some other textboxes). So I am trying to bind it automatically when it comes in as seen (Test ViewModel) However I get this big nasty error. Server Error in '/' Application.   Has anyone been able to communicate using WCF on Windows Phone Series 7 emulator? I've been trying for the past two days and it's just happening for me. I can get a normal Silverlight control to work in both Silverlight 3 and Silverlight 4, but not the phone version. • jQuery JSON encode set of input values

  I need tp serialize a group of input elements but I can't for the life of me figure out this simple task. I can successfully iterate through the targeted inputs using: $("#tr_Features :input").each(function() { ... } Here's my code, that doesn't work: var features = new Array(); $("#tr_Features :input").each(function() { features += {$(this).attr("name"): $(this).val()}; } Serializing the entire form won't give me what I need. The form has much more than this subset of inputs. This seems like it should be a pretty straightforward task but apparently programming late into a Friday afternoon isn't a good thing. • Why does BeginReceiveFrom never time out?

  I am writing an asynchronous Ping using Raw Sockets in F#, to enable parallel requests using as few threads as possible ("System.Net.NetworkInformation.Ping" appears to use one thread per request, but have not tested this... also am interested in using F# async workflows). The synchronous version below correctly times out when the target host does not exist/respond, but the asynchronous version hangs. Both work when the host does respond... Any ideas?   For a little project about XML I try to use HTML5 as it has SVG and WAI-ARIA Support. I also want to use a XSL stylesheet for my document. But I can't get a valid HTML5 document with a nested SVG. Can anyone tell me how to avoid the meta tag to be inserted or how to set a propper Content-Type that will make the browser rendern the SVG. Or even any other hint to get this working. I would really like to keep HTML5 to be able to keep the WAI-ARIA Landmark Roles an the HTML5 tags like NAV and FOOTER.

  I'm trying my best to have a good looking modal login form but for some reasons it seems that no matter how I nest divs, I cannot obtain the proper shape. What I need is a big "lock" image side-by-side with a username/password form. The best I could do adds a horizontal scroller by the modal bottom and shows the input gadgets fairly distant from the image partly hidden on the right side of the modal canvas. Inspecting with FireBug it seems that the spans in row-fluid are ok but the "control-label" and "controls" class adds way too much space on the left by width (for the labels) and margin-left (for the controls). How would you solve it? Am I doing something wrong with divs and classes nesting?   Hello. I have a my own custom tool for Visual Studio 2008 SP1. It consists of 5 assemblies: 3 assemblies with code that used heavily in my other projects, 1 assembly-wrapper above VS2008 SDK and assembly with the tool. If I'd debug my tool from visual studio, using "Run external program" option with command line "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" and arguments "/ranu /rootsuffix Exp" all work perfectly. After that I trying to deploy it to my working VS copy, not to experimental hive doing: gacutil /i Asm1.dll for all my assemblies and doing RegAsm Asm1.dll only for assembly with custom tool. Neither of utils prints any error, all work as planned, even registry keys appeared. But my tool don't work even after PC restart. What did I do wrong?   Hello, I have a JAXB class generation problem I was hoping to get some help with. Here's the part of the XML that is the source of my problem... However, when I unmarshall the actual XML data into the generated classes the data in the wrapper class is not populated - yet JAXB does not throw an exception. My question is: Do I need to change the schema a different way to make this work? Or is there something I can add/change/delete to the generated code or annotations? • Multidimensional array problem in VHDL?

  I'm trying to use a multidimensional array in VHDL and I'm having a lot of trouble getting it to work properly. My issue is that I've got an array of 17, of 16 vectors, of a given size. What I want to do is create 17 registers that are array of 16 * std_logic_vector of 32 bits (which = my b, 512). So, I'm trying to pass in something to input and output on the register instantiation that tells the compiler/synthesizer that I want to pass in something that is 512 bits worth... Similar to in C if I had: int var[COLS][ROWS][ELEMENTS]; memcpy(&var[3].. // I'm talking about 3rd COL here, passing in memory that is ROWS*ELEMENTS long (My actual declaration is here:) type partial_pipeline_registers_type is array (0 to 16, 0 to 15) of std_logic_vector(iw - 1 downto 0); signal h_blk_pipelined_input : partial_pipeline_registers_type; I tried simply using h_blk_pipelined_input(0) .. up to (16) but this doesn't work. I get the following error, which makes me see that I need to double index in to the array: ERROR:HDLParsers:821 - (at the register) Wrong index type for h_blk_pipelined_input. So then I tried what's below, and I get this error: ERROR:HDLParsers:164 - (at the register code). parse error, unexpected TO, expecting COMMA or CLOSEPAR instantiate_h_pipelined_reg : regn generic map ( N=> b, init => bzeros ) port map ( clk => clk , rst => '0', en => '1', input => h_blk_pipelined_input((i - 1), 0 to 15), output=> h_blk_pipelined_input((i), 0 to 15)); -- Changing 0 to 15 to (0 to 15) has no effect... I'm using XST, and from their documentation (http://www.xilinx.com/itp/xilinx6/books/data/docs/xst/xst0067_9.html), the above should have worked: ...declaration: subtype MATRIX15 is array(4 downto 0, 2 downto 0) of STD_LOGIC_VECTOR (7 downto 0); A multi-dimensional array signal or variable can be completely used: Just a slice of one row can be specified: MATRIX15 (4,4 downto 1) <= TAB_B (3 downto 0); One alternative is that I can create more registers that are 16 times smaller, and instead of trying to do all '0 to 15' at once, I would just do that 15 additional times. However, I think this may lead to inefficiency in synthesis and I don't feel like this is the right solution. EDIT: Tried what Ben said, instantiate_h_m_qa_pipeline_registers: for i in 1 to 16 generate instantiate_h_pipelined_reg : regn generic map ( N=> b, init => bzeros ) port map ( clk => clk , rst => '0', en => '1', input => h_blk_pipelined_input(i - 1), output=> h_blk_pipelined_input(i)); end generate instantiate_h_m_qa_pipeline_registers; The signals are now defined as: type std_logic_block is array (0 to 15) of std_logic_vector(iw - 1 downto 0) ; type partial_pipeline_registers_type is array (0 to 16) of std_logic_block; signal h_blk_pipelined_input : partial_pipeline_registers_type; And the error I get from XST is: ERROR:HDLParsers:800 - ((where the register part is)) Type of input is incompatible with type of h_blk_pipelined_input. I'm able to do everything I was able to do before, using ()() syntax instead of ( , ) so I haven't lost anything going this way, but it still doesn't resolve my problem.

  Hello, I have a list of radio buttons that are inside a DIV called "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs", this DIV slides down/up when you click on a 'trigger' element, in my case a < span with the class "selected-search-wjs". The DIV "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs" slides back up when the user selects one of the radio buttons. This DIV also slides back up when the user does not take any action (does not select a radio button) but has already moved his mouse over "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs" DIV and then moves it out. So far, so good. What I need is to have the same DIV, "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs", slide back up when the user moves his mouse out from the < span "selected-search-wjs" element but NOT if the user moves his mouse over the DIV "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs". The thing is that is that if do this: $('.selected-search-wjs').mouseleave(function() { $('.radio-btns-wrapper-wjs').slideUp(); }); The DIV with the radio buttons, "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs", slides back up as soon as I leave that DIV to select a radio button. I need a condition that says something like: "Hide the DIV "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs" if the user hovers over you and then hovers out. Also, hide this same DIV if the user moves his mouse away from the < span "selected-search-wjs", but NOT if he moves his mouse over the DIV "radio-btns-wrapper-wjs"." Does all this make sense?   I'm new with Google Maps. I'm trying to turn coordinates a user inputs to move a marker I have on my map to those coordinates. For instance, if the user inputs 50.75, 74.1 the marker will pan to that coordinate. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work. • Serializing WPF DataTemplates and {Binding Expressions} (from PowerShell?)

  Ok, here's the deal: I have code that works in C#, but when I call it from PowerShell, it fails. I can't quite figure it out, but it's something specific to PowerShell. Here's the relevant code calling the library (assuming you've added a reference ahead of time) from C#: public class Test { [STAThread] public static void Main() { Console.WriteLine( PoshWpf.XamlHelper.RoundTripXaml( "<TextBlock Text=\"{Binding FullName}\" xmlns=\"http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation\"/>" ) ); } } Compiled into an executable, that works fine ... but if you call that method from PowerShell, it returns with no {Binding FullName} for the Text! add-type -path .\PoshWpf.dll [PoshWpf.Test]::Main() I've pasted below the entire code for the library, all wrapped up in a PowerShell Add-Type call so you can just compile it by pasting it into PowerShell (you can leave off the first and last lines if you want to paste it into a new console app in Visual Studio. To output (from PowerShell 2) as an executable, just change the -OutputType parameter to ConsoleApplication and the -OutputAssembly to PoshWpf.exe (or something). Thus, you can see that running the SAME CODE from the executable gives you the correct output. But running the two lines as above or manually calling [PoshWpf.XamlHelper]::RoundTripXaml or [PoshWpf.XamlHelper]::ConvertToXaml from PowerShell just doesn't seem to work at all ... HELP?! When I click the button, I was expecting it to add a DIV to the already present deck. For some reason, it doesn't show the newly added DIV. I tried calling the coverflow() function after I added the new element but that didn't work either. Is there any way I can make this work?

  I have been experiencing some very strange behavior using html buttons with the onserverclick attribute. What I am trying to do is use jQuery to designate the default button on the page. By default button I mean the button that is "clicked" when a user hits enter. In testing, I would hit enter while in an input field and sometimes the intended "default" button was clicked and the server side method defined in the corresponding onserverclick attribute was hit. Other times a post back was made without hitting the server method. In Firefox 3.6 and IE 8 when only one input exists on the page, hitting enter does not trigger the onserverclick, it makes a post back without even being jQuery "clicked" or actually "clicked". You can test this by starting with two inputs and clicking "test2". This will output "server method2 was hit". Then just hit enter and the output will be "server method1 was hit. Now take away an input and run the same test. Click "test2" see the results, then hit enter and you will see that nothing will change because the "test1" method was never hit.
