  I need a way to reduce the memory usage of these programs while keeping the functionality. Every time I add 50 milliseconds or so to the set&display loop in AnimationTest1, it throws an out of memory error.   I have a text file with a list of macro names (one per line). My final goal is to get a print of how many times the macro's name appears in the files of the current directory. The macro's names are in C:\temp\macros.txt. type C:\temp\macros.txt in the command prompt prints the list alright. Now I want to pipe that output to the standard input of findstr. type C:\temp\macros.txt | findstr *.ss (ss is the file type where I am looking for the macro names). This does not seem to work, I get no result (very fast, it does not seem to try at all). findstr <the first row of the macro list> *.ss does work. I also tried findstr *.ss < c:\temp\macros.txt with no success.

  I have two combo boxes that are cascading. I would like to have it so that when I select something in ComboBox1, it will fire off a web method that automatically filters the list in ComboBox2. At the moment, I'm adding the value of ComboBox1 to the context key of the ComboBox2 web service when I'm firing it, however, I've noticed that this web service only fires when I modify the value in ComboBox2, not when I click the showList button. Is it possible to call and dynamically change the list of ComboBox2 when I change ComboBox1, or is it possible in RadComboBox to request a callback to the server for any of the client events such as opening up the list?

• ASP.NET TextBox TextChanged event not firing in custom EditorPart

  This is a classic sort of question, I suppose, but it seems that most people are interested in having the textbox cause a postback. I'm not. I just want the event to fire when a postback occurs. I have created a webpart with a custom editorpart. The editorpart renders with a textbox and a button. Clicking the button causes a dialog to open. When the dialog is closed, it sets the value of the textbox via javascript and then does __doPostBack using the ClientID of the editorpart. The postback happens, but the TextChanged event never fires, and I'm not sure if it's a problem with the way __doPostBack is invoked, or if it's because of the way I'm setting up the event handler, or something else.   Hi, I have a question about list views. I hope someone knows the solution, because I have been trying to solve this problem all weekend. I have a custom list view in which every row have a custom .xml (item_row.xml) with a set color background for the row item. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="70dip" android:orientation="vertical" android:background="@drawable/list_bg"> The problem is that when I try to make a selector for the list. I want two things: When the item is focused, the typical orange rectangle should appear over it, and the same When the item is pressed. I have proved with a selector and a custom style but all I get is or the selector doesn't appear or the selector covering the item so I can't see it.   I'm trying to implement a genetic algorithm that will calculate the minimum of the Rastrigin functon and I'm having some issues. I need to represent the chromosome as a binary string and as the Rastrigin's function takes a list of numbers as a parameter, how can decode the chromosome to a list of numbers? Also the Rastrigin's wants the elements in the list to be -5.12<=x(i)<=5.12 what happens if when i generate the chromosome it will produce number not in that interval? The user will provide two lists of tags, include and exclude. I need to find all the entities that have all of the include tags, and exclude any entites that have any tag in the exclude list.   I want a method to update certain entries of an IEnumerable. I found that doing a foreach over the entries and updating the values failed as in the background I was cloning the collection. This was because my IEnumerable was backed by some LINQ-SQL queries. By changing the method to take a List I have changed this behavior, Lists are always mutable and hence the method changes the actual objects in the list.   Is this valid C++ (e.g. not invoking UB) and does it achieve what I want without leaking memory? valgrinds complains about mismatching free and delete but says "no leaks are possible" in the end. int main() { int* a = new int[5]; for(int i = 0; i < 5; ++i) a[i] = i; for(int i = 0; i < 5; ++i) delete &a[i]; } The reason I'm asking: I have a class that uses boost::intrusive::list and I new every object that is added to that list. Sometimes I know how many objects I want to add to the list and was thinking about using new[] to allocate a chunk and still be able to delete every object on its own with the Disposer-style of boost::intrusive.

• issues horizontal scrolling using jQuery.ScrollTo / jQuery.SerialScroll

  Hi, I am trying to develop auto horizontal scrolling for our website using - jQuery.ScrollTo / jQuery.SerialScroll. I am not sure if this is the best jquery library to do that, but if there's something better, please let me know. Here's the behavior that I want, check out foursquare's "Recent Activity" list. The data that will refresh will come from a ajax request that I make every few seconds using window.setInterval. I am not really a CSS/java script guy so I havent been able to figure out jQuery.SerialScroll. Here's the website - look at the "Live job Feeds" list. Currently the list does refresh the data coming from the ajax call, but I dont see the effect, the animation, in fact I dont even think serialScroll is being used. Right now I am doing a - $('#feed-ticker').prepend(content) to pre-append the newly arrived data. You can do a view source to look at the current code. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

  When editing plist files in XCode, it can detect the type of plist and show human-readable strings to make it more easy to edit the file. The Info.plist, for example. Thanks to This question, I found the (or a) place where it stores that structure definition, as InfoPlistStructDefs.xcodeplugin. If I put my own file in there, however, nothing interesting happens. That is, it doesn't show up in the list of possible property list types. So does anybody know how to make XCode or the external property list editor application recognize a custom plist structure definition?

• nmake makefile, linking objects files in a subfolder

  My makefile defines a link command: prod_link = $(LINK) $(LINK_FLAGS) -o$(PROD_OUT) $(PROD_OBJS) where $(PROD_OBJS) is a list of object files of the form: PROD_OBJS = objfile1.obj objfile2.obj objfile3.obj ... objfileN.obj Now the makefile itself is at the root of my project directory. It gets messy to have object and listing files at the root, I'd like to put them in a subfolder. Building and outputing the obj files to a subfolder works, I'm doing it with suffixes and inference: .s.obj: $(ASSEMBLY) $(FLAGS) $*.s -o Objects\$*.obj The problem is to pass the Objects folder to the link command. I tried: prod_link = $(LINK) $(LINK_FLAGS) -o$(PROD_OUT) Objects\$(PROD_OBJS) but only the first file in the list of object files gets the folder's name. How can I pass the Objects subfolder to all files of my list $(PROD_OBJS)? EDIT I tried also PROD_OBJS = $(patsubst %.ss,Object\%.obj, $(PROD_SRC)) but got: makefile(51) : fatal error U1000: syntax error : ')' missing in macro invocation Stop. This is quite strange...
