• Mouse and Keyboard Stop Working on Startup

  I have a Dell Optiplex 330 and have recently done a Windows XP repair. After it was finished I was able to use the computer just fine. Now I take it back to it's original location and plug in the OEM mouse and keyboard and they both work until Windows XP loads. As soon as windows loads the lights go out on both the keyboard and mouse.

  I have all PostgreSQL databases backed up during incremental backups using WHM, which creates a $dbName.tar file. Data is stored in these .tar files, but I do not know how to restore it back into the individual databases via SSH. In particular the file location. I have been using: pg_restore -d client03 /backup/cpbackup/daily/client03/psql/client03.tar which generates the error 'could not open input file: Permission denied' Any assistance appreciated.

• Is this a false positive by Avast?

  Avast keeps detecting the rootkit Win32:Evo-gen. I select to delete it, but when I restart the computer the message pops up again. The location is C:\Program Files(x86)\ASUS\AsusFanControlService\1.00.17\AsusFanControlService.exe this somewhat makes sense because I do have an Asus motherboard. Should I choose "ignore" and remember the selection or is it likely I do have a virus that is resisting deletion?

  Hi all I'm following this tutorial to set up a LAMP stack on EC2 with persistent storage on EBS. It all works well when doing it step by step. But in case you want to mount your EBS under /mnt instead of under the root directory the ln -s commands won't work! I tried: ln -s /mnt/ebs1/httpd /etc and: ln -s /mnt/ebs1/httpd /etc/httpd Is there a difference when linking to a file on a device that is mounted under /mnt? (working on fedora core 8)

When Installing Nagios there is an option to run NsClient++, but I went with the WMI Checks because it is agent less. What are the advantages of using NsClient++ for Nagios? However I can't find any way to save this location for future use (other than saving the URL to a text file and copy-pasting it into Dolphin).   I used OpenOffice Impress to make some slides for a presentation and when I try to transfer the slides to another computer the images are lost, with text displayed in their place describing the location that the images could be found. This happens when I save in odp and ppt and also when I try to upload the slides to Google Docs. Any idea what is wrong? While making the slides I just dragged and dropped the images into the presentation.
