    I want to slight variation of the custom cell code example from the MS website How to: Customize Cells and Columns in the Windows Forms DataGridView Control by Extending Their Behavior and Appearance by passing an argument to the custom cell constructor. Public Sub New(ByVal a As Object) End Sub but then when I run the code it throws and exception MissingMethodException occured No parameterless constructor defined for this object. Does this mean that custom cells must have a parameterless constructor? Thanks.

  • Why would some POST data go missing when using Uploadify?

    I have been using Uploadify in my PHP application for the last couple months, and I've been trying to track down an elusive bug. I receive emails when fatal errors occur, and they provide me a good amount of details. I've received dozens of them. I have not, however, been able to reproduce the problem myself. Some users (like myself) experience no problem, while others do. Before I give details of the problem, here is the flow. User visits edit screen for a page in the CMS I am using. Record id for the page is put into a form as a hidden value. User clicks the Uploadify browse button and selects a file (only single file selection is allowed). User clicks Submit button for my form. jQuery intercepts the form submit action, triggers Uploadify to start uploading, and returns false for the submit action (manually cancelling the form submit event so that Uploadify can take over). Uploadify uploads to a custom process script. Uploadify finishes uploading and triggers the Javascript completion callback. The Javascript callback calls $('#myForm').submit() to submit the form. Now that's what SHOULD happen. I've received reports of the upload freezing at 100% and also others where "I/O Error" is displayed. What's happening is, the form is submitting with the completion callback, but some post parameters present in the form are simply not in the post data. The id for the page, which earlier I said is added to the form as a hidden field, is simply not there in the post data ($_POST)--there is no item for 'id' in the $_POST array. The strange thing is, the post data DOES contain values for some fields. For instance, I have an input of type text called "name" which is for the record name, and it does show up in the post data. Here is what I've gathered: This has been happening on Mac OSX 10.5 and 10.6, Windows XP, and Windows 7. I can post exact user agent strings if that helps. Users must use Flash 10.0.12 or later. We've made it so the form reverts to using a normal "file" field if they have < 10.0.12. Does anyone have ANY ideas at all what the cause of this could be?

    I'm trying to POST a http request using ajax, but getting a response from the apache server using modsec_audit that: "POST request must have a Content-Length header." I do not want to disable this in modsec_audit. This occurs only in firefox, and not IE. Further, I switched to using a POST rather than a GET to keep IE from caching my results.   • Need to optimize this PHP script for "recent posts". Fatal error when post count is high...

    The code below is resulting in an error on a site in which there are ~ 1500 posts. It performs fine when post count is nominal, however, this heavy load is exposing the weakness of the code and I'd like to optimize it. Interestingly, when I disable this menu and instead use the "Recent Posts" widget, the posts are drawn fine. So I'd probably do good to borrow from that code if I knew where to find it, or better yet, If I could call the widget directly in my theme, passing it a post count variable.   • How can I validate/secure/authenticate a JavaScript-based POST request?

    A product I'm helping to develop will basically work like this: A Web publisher creates a new page on their site that includes a <script> from our server. When a visitor reaches that new page, that <script> gathers the text content of the page and sends it to our server via a POST request (cross-domain, using a <form> inside of an <iframe>). Our server processes the text content and returns a response (via JSONP) that includes an HTML fragment listing links to related content around the Web. This response is cached and served to subsequent visitors until we receive another POST request with text content from the same URL, at which point we regenerate a "fresh" response. These POSTs only happen when our cached TTL expires, at which point the server signifies that and prompts the <script> on the page to gather and POST the text content again. The problem is that this system seems inherently insecure. In theory, anyone could spoof the HTTP POST request (including the referer header, so we couldn't just check for that) that sends a page's content to our server. This could include any text content, which we would then use to generate the related content links for that page. The primary difficulty in making this secure is that our JavaScript is publicly visible. We can't use any kind of private key or other cryptic identifier or pattern because that won't be secret. Ideally, we need a method that somehow verifies that a POST request corresponding to a particular Web page is authentic. We can't just scrape the Web page and compare the content with what's been POSTed, since the purpose of having JavaScript submit the content is that it may be behind a login system. Any ideas? I hope I've explained the problem well enough. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  • DataBinding and ErrorProvider - How to provide custom error messages?

    We use BusinessObjects, implementing IDataErrorInfo and IEditableObject. BindingLists with those Objects are added to BindingSources, those are used to bind UserControls and DataGrids on the forms (WinForms). The BindingSource is additionally set as DataSource to the ErrorProvider of the form. We do use currently TextBoxes for Properties of Type int and short. They are validated inside the BusinessObjects with custom validation, like min/max values, etc. That works fine, since error message form our custom validations show up nicely next to the TextBox. However, if the input is greater than the value of an int (e.g. "9999999999") the BindingSource doesn't even try to enter that Value into the BusinesObject but instead gives the errormessage to the errorprovider like "The value for Int32 was too big.". We do not want to bother our users with "Int32" but want a custom errormessage for that. It is nice, that the BindingSource does provide this feature, but is it possible to provide custom error messages for this?

  • How can I force a ListView with a custom panel to re-measure when the ListView width goes below the

    Sorry for the long winded question (I'm including background here). If you just want the question, go to the end. I have a ListView with a custom Panel implementation that I'm using to implement something similar to a WrapPanel, but not quite. I'm overriding the MeasureOverride and ArrangeOverride methods in the custom panel. If I do the naive implementation of a WrapPanel in the MeasureOverride method it doesn't work when the ListView is resized. Let's say the custom panel does a measure and the constraint is a width of 100 and let's say I have 3 items that are 40 wide each. The naive approach is to return a size of 80,80 but when I resize the window that the ListView is in, down to say 75, it just turns on the horizontal scrollbar and never calls measure or arrange again (it does keep measuring and arranging if the width is greater than 80). To get around this, I hard coded the measurement to only have a width of the widest item. Then in the arrange, it gives me more space than I asked for and I use as much horizontal space as I can before wrapping. If I resize the window smaller than the smallest item in the ListView, then it turns on the scrollbar, which is great. Unfortunately this is causing a big problem when I have one of these ListViews with a custom panel nested inside of another one. The outside one works ok, but I can't get the inside one to "take as much as it needs". It always sizes to the smallest item, and the only way around it is to set the MinWidth to be something greater than zero. Anyway, stepping back for a second, I think the real way to fix this is to go back to the Naive implementation of the WrapPanel but force it to re-measure when the ListView width goes below the Size I previously returned as a measurement. That should solve my problem with the nested one. So, that's my question: I have a ListView with a custom panel If I return a measurement width on the panel and the ListView is resized to less than that width, it stops calling MeasureOverride How can I get it to continue calling MeasureOverride?

    This may be an opinion based question, but it's something that I wanted to ask (even if it does end up getting closed or deleted). I do custom app dev (asp.net/aspMVC) and have absolutely no knowledge about sharepoint and was wondering: If you have a "rock solid" custom app dev, asp.net/aspMVC web developer can he jump into sharepoint development fairly easily? What about the other way around? Does a seasoned sharepoint developer have the "chops" to do custom app dev using asp.net/aspMVC? By no means do I want to offend any sharepoint developers or any custom app dev developers. I'm merely trying to see how much knowledge you can take with you when going from one type of development to another.

  • Generating custom-form documents from base-form plus XML?

    Hi all, this is my first stack overflow, and it's a complex one. Sorry. My task is to generate custom documents from a basic template plus some XML without having a custom form design element for each case. Here's the whole picture: We are building a Lotus Notes (client, not web) application for world-wide application access control; the scope is something like 400.000 users being able to request access to any of 1000+ applications. Each application needs its own request form -- different number of approvers, various info required, that sort of thing. We simply can't have a thousand forms in a database (one per application), and anyway their maintenance really needs to be pushed from the developers to the application owners. So instead of custom forms, we'd like to create a generic "template" form that stores a block of basic fields, but then allows application owners to define another block of fields dynamically -- "I want a mandatory plain-text field named 'Name' here, and then a date field named 'Due' here that must be later than today's date, and then ...". I hope this makes sense (if not, think of it as a generic questionnaire application). I pretty much have the structure in place for designing the dynamic fields (form builder GUI - XML-encoded data - pre-rendered DXL for injecting into a form), including mark-up for field types, value options, and rudimentary field validation instructions. My problem is generating a document with this dynamic content injected at the proper location (without needing a custom form design element for each case). Doing the dynamic content via HTML is out. The Notes client web rendering is simply way too poor, and it would be quite a challenge to implement things like field validation instructions, date selectors, and name look-ups. DXL, on the other hand, would allow us to use native Notes fields and code. As a tech demo, I've managed to implement a custom form generator that injects the pre-rendered DXL for the dynamic content into a base form; but as I said, we don't want a ton of custom form design elements. I've tried to implement a way to create a document with the "store form in document" flag set, but once I've created the document from the base form, I can't get DXL access to the stored form design, and so I can't inject my dynamic content. I know this is not something Notes was ever intended to do. Has anyone ever tried something like it (and gotten away with it)? Thanks for reading this far.     Let's take 2 UML class model entities: One represents an actual Order and another represents an Orede Type. Any Order corresponds to one Type. A 2-way-naviglabe many Orders to one Type relation is meant. Order Type instances are, for example, "Request availability", "Request price", "Preorder", "Buy", "Cancel", "Request support", etc. Order Types are to be addable and editable in the resulting application. Should I model Order Type as Class or as Enumeration? From the data perspective I can't see the difference actually.

  • Best way to test if a generic type is a string? (c#)

    I have a generic class that should allow any type, primitive or otherwise. The only problem with this is using default(T). When you call default on a value type or a string, it initializes it to a reasonable value (such as empty string). When you call default(T) on an object, it returns null. For various reasons we need to ensure that if it is not a primitive type, then we will have a default instance of the type, not null. Here is attempt 1: T createDefault() { if(typeof(T).IsValueType) { return default(T); } else { return Activator.CreateInstance<T>(); } } Problem - string is not a value type, but it does not have a parameterless constructor. So, the current solution is: T createDefault() { if(typeof(T).IsValueType || typeof(T).FullName == "System.String") { return default(T); } else { return Activator.CreateInstance<T>(); } } But this feels like a kludge. Is there a nicer way to handle the string case?

    I'm attempting to create a form which will allow me to upload a file.. I've got the following form.. <div class="field"> <%= f.label :title %><br /> <%= f.text_field :title %> </div> <div class="field"> <%= f.label :body %><br /> <%= f.text_area :body, "cols" => 100, "rows" => 40 %> </div> <div class="field"> <%= f.label :upload %><br /> <%= f.file_field :upload %> </div> <div class="actions"> <%= f.submit %> </div> I've got a controller which seems to error in this function.. # POST /posts # POST /posts.xml def create @post = Post.new(params[:post]) @post = DataFile.save(params[:upload]) ##render :text => "File has been uploaded successfully" respond_to do |format| if @post.save format.html { redirect_to(@post, :notice => 'Post was successfully created.') } format.xml { render :xml => @post, :status => :created, :location => @post } else format.html { render :action => "new" } format.xml { render :xml => @post.errors, :status => :unprocessable_entity } end end end That's the method that get's called when I create the post.
