• ignore certain buffers using iswitchb

  Hello, GNU Emacs 23.1 I am using iswitchb. However, when I press c-x b I get a list of buffers. However, I don't want to display one like scratch, Messages, GNU Emacs, etc. Just the buffers I have opened myself. So I am looking for a way to ignore these buffers. This is what I have in my configuration. However, it doesn't ignore the buffers I don't want. • Why the property is not called on Binding in WPF?

  I am not sure why the property is not being called on Binding. • LINQ-to-XML to DataGridView: Cannot edit fields -- How to fix?

  I am currently doing LINQ-to-XML and populating a DataGridView with my query just fine. The trouble I am running into is that once loaded into the DataGridView, the values appear to be Un-editable (ReadOnly). • IE6 image scaling with bicubic filter

  I have a project where I have to resize some images in the actual browser side. IE8, FF3 et al all apply a filter to smooth the resizing of the image, so in these browsers everything looks good. In IE7 I have applied the following fix which works great: -ms-interpolation-mode:bicubic; In IE6 however I can only find references to the AlphaImage Filter (the same one used to enable alpha transparency on PNG files). However I can't find an example of how to use it, nor have I been able to get it working myself. Can anyone provide me with an example? Preferably applied to actual img tags, though I could use background images if required. • Loading different portrait/landscape UIViews

  Hi, I have following View COntroller structure: ScrollViewController LandscapeViewController PortraitViewController Each with its own .nib The app starts in landscape mode where many landscape views are added to a scrollview. Each landscape view has its specific portrait view, so I have to assign like ID's to each of this views. Can you tell me, how I can load the specific portrait view for each landscape view when rotating the device? Do I have to make two scroll views? One for landscape, one for portrait? Or is it possible to just scroll through the landscape scrollview an load just one portrait view with the right content based on an ID? How could I implement that? The data comes from a property list. Thanks in advance!

• Compiler error when casting to function pointer

  I'm writing a bootloader for the PIC32MX, using HiTech's PICC32 compiler (similar to C90). At some point I need to jump to the real main routine, so somewhere in the bootloader I have void (*user_main) (void); user_main = (void (*) (void)) 0x9D003000; user_main(); (Note that in the actual code, the function signature is typedef'd and the address is a macro.) I would rather calculate that (virtual) address from the physical address, and have something like: void (*user_main) (void); user_main = (void (*) (void)) (0x1D003000 | 0x80000000); user_main(); ...but when I try that I get a compiler error: Error #474: ; 0: no psect specified for function variable/argument allocation Have I tripped over some vagarity of C syntax here? This error doesn't reference any particular line, but if I comment out the user_main() call, it goes away. (This might be the compiler removing a redundant code branch, but the HiTech PICC32 isn't particularly smart in Lite mode, so maybe not.)

  I have a ComboBox that uses a DataTemplate. The DataTemplate contains a binding which uses an IValueConverter to convert an enumerated value into a string. The problem is that the value converter is never invoked. This is my XAML: <ComboBox ItemsSource="{Binding Path=StatusChoices, Mode=OneWay}"> <ComboBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Converter={StaticResource StatusToTextConverter}}"/> </DataTemplate> </ComboBox.ItemTemplate> </ComboBox> Is my binding not correct? I thought this is how one implicitly binds to the value a DataTemplate is presenting. Am I wrong?

• Debugging kernel hang

  I am trying to run an app which is using a kernel mode driver. System locks up every hour and the only way to recover it is a hard reset. Sysrq stops responding, telnet sessions hang and there are no error messages of any kind. Unfortunately the board does not have ejtag support. I have been trying to isolate it functionally, but this is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Any suggestions? PS: This is a mips linux system (2.6.31).

• Solaris 10 keyboard problem

  Im runing Solaris 10 - but im having problems with the keyboard. Instead of - i get /, and instead of y i get z, etc. I tried changing every option in the menu "Keyboard Behaviour". I also tried changing kmdconfig from xorg to xsun, but then the graphics goes all wild and ugly - although the keyboard works fine then. Also cant change resolution in xsun mode. By the way, im runing Solaris from Vmware, but i doubt this has anything to do with this.

I am looking for a free calendar component written in java which allows scheduling functionalities as well as capable of changing view mode of tasks either by viewing taks for whole year, month view, week view, day view. Do you have any suggestion. Im sorry something came up with the implementation. I dnt have to use this calendar for triggering or calling jobs. • TTPhotoViewController thumbnails rotate but images don't

  I have PhotoTest1Controller very similiar to the one in Three20 samples. I implemented necessary shouldRotate methods in necessary places in UITabBarController and UINavController derived classes as well as the table that contains PhotoTest1Controller. A funny thing is happening, when in thumbnail mode, the view rotates properly, but when showing a picture it does not respond to rotation. Moreover, If I rotate in thumbnail view and then switch to single image view in that rotation, I find that the image is properly rotated in the background. It only ignores rotation when it is the topmost view! So, my understanding is that shouldRotate events are properly propagated, but for some reason single image view does not rotate when in top view, unlike the example code which is %98 equal to my code...

• Removing WS_BORDER and WS_CAPTION from windows styles doesn't work

  Hello, I created a small app in C# that removes border and caption from window, then it sets size to the user's resolution and centers it. It's a utility for me to use when I want to play games in windowed mode without being annoyed by the borders. Everything works fine with most games, but I tried to use it on a recently released game Alpha Protocol and it doesn't work. I could almost say that the game reverts my changes, but I'm not sure how to tell if that's true or not. I'm using imported API functions MoveWindow, SetWindowLong and SetWindowPos. • Remove binding to FrameworkElementFactory

  I am currently creating a datatemplate to display data in a listview control in a specific manner and bound to the data. This works fine. But I need to be able to remove the bindings when the screen is closed and control is being disposed. How can I do this? I am thinking of just passing null as the second parameter of SetBinding and not sure if this will fix the issue. Also I have tried BindingOperation.ClearBindings, but I have a FrameworkElementFactory object and not a DependancyObject. • Wait for tasks to get completed in threadpool.

  Hello I have created a thread pool in C++ which stores all tasks in a queue. Thread pool start n number of threads which takes tasks from queue , process each task and then delete tasks from queue. Now , I want to wait till all tasks get completed. Checking for empty queue for completion of tasks may not work as , task can be given to each thread and queue can be emptied but still the tasks can in processing mode. I am not getting idea how to wait for all the tasks completion.This is a design problem. Any suggestions?

• Dynamic resize with MPlayer and PyGTK

  Hi everyone; I've wrote a piece of code in python and pygtk for an embeded mplayer in a gui. I assume I use GtkSocket and the slave mode of mplayer with the -wid option. But I've got an issue, when the size of my GTK window is smaller than my stream, the stream appears to be cropped. And when the size of my window is bigger than my stream, the stream appear centred inside the widget which embed MPlayer. (a gtk.Frame but I've also try with a gtk.DrawingArea) I would like to know how I can get my stream resize dynamically depending on the window's size. I don't want to use Glade or any GUI builder. Thanks in advance for any help, and please excuse my poor english.

• The whole site is blocked while one page is waiting for blocking operation (PHP, ASP.NET). Why?

  Good day! I've found interesting behaviour for both LAMP stack and ASP.NET. The scenario: There is page performing task in 2-3 minutes (making HttpWebRequest for ASP.NET and curl for PHP). While this page is processed all other requests to this virtual host from the same browser are not processed (even if I use different browsers from one machine). I use two pages written in PHP and C#. I've tested with Apache+PHP in both mod_php and fast_cgi modes on Windows and Debian. For ASP.NET I use IIS6 (with dedicated app pool for this site and with default app pool) and IIS7 in integrated mode. I know that it is better to use async calls for such things, but I'm just curious why single page blocks the entire site and not only the thread processing the request? Thanks in advance!

• iPad: How Do I Limit the Number of Tabs in UITabBarController?

  I'm converting an iPhone app to a universal app, which leaves me with a UITabBarController as the root view controller for a UISplitViewController. That is, the tab bar appears at the bottom of the left-hand view when the iPad is in landscape mode. On the iPhone, the system automatically limited the number of tabs shown in the tab bar to 5. But on the iPad simulator (which is all I have at the moment), my tab bar has 8 tabs, including the More tab. What gives? Thanks. Update: Since I had no luck finding an answer to this question, I gave up on using a tab bar interface in my iPad-flavored app. Instead, I added one more level to the navigation controller drill-down. That ends up working fine for this app.

The same WPF project, debug mode, two computers: A -- when exception occurrs the caret is placed at the point of exception B -- when the exception occurrs, correct exception is placed but always caret is placed at "win.ShowDialog()" in App.xaml.cs -- this is main entry for showing & running my application, in such case it is very tiresome to track down where the exception occurred What kind of settings control such behaviour? Of course I would like to switch B, so when exception hits I would be place at the point of exception, not at the main entry.

• Silverlight 4 desktop application sometimes zooms when touching it... and cannot zoom out

  Hi, I have a Silverlight 4 desktop application which I control using a touchscreen (on an HP Touchsmart). Most of the time it works fine but sometimes when clicking something everything just zooms in and every time it happens things get bigger and bigger. The only way to get the normal size again is by restarting the application. Has anybody got any idea what might be causing it ? Does not seem to happen in browser mode. Is there a way to prevent zooming? Thnx

• Metadata file ... could not be found error when building projects

  Every time I start Visual Studio 2008, the first time I try to run the project I get the error CS0006 The metadata file ... could not be found. If I do a rebuild of the complete solution it works. Some information about the solution: I'm building in debug mode and Visual Studio complains about not finding dll:s in the release folder. The projects Visual Studio complains about are used by many other projects in the solution. I have changed the default output path of all projects to a ......\build\debug\ProjectName and ......\build\release\ProjectName respectively. (Just to get all build files in one directory) I have the same problem with a another solution. The solution was created from scratch. There are 9 projects in the solution. One WPF and 8 class libraries using dotnet 3.5. Any ideas on what is causing this problem?

  Hi Experts, What would be the best design for a Java web based application to read Check or Credit Card from POS Devices which are configured/installed at client machine? The design which I have decided is: When cashier selects payment mode as 'Check' or 'Credit Card' open a pop-up. From pop-up, I am calling an Applet through JNLP which implements JPOS API to communicate with POS devices at client machine. When cashier swipes or inserts check, Applet class read them and send the information back to the pop-up window. Pop up window call the parent window, populate all the required field and close the pop-up.
