  • CSS gaps between image links for no reason

    Hi, I've been trying to get this horizontal navigation sorted for the past few hours now and nothing is working. I've tried reset.css stylesheets, *{padding: 0; margin: 0) etc. and I still have gaps inbetween my image links. You see, the navigation is made up of an unordered list of image links displayed inline, but there are gaps in between each image, left, right, top and bottom and I can't see why. It's the same in all browsers. Here is a link to the page, and so source: Beansheaf Temporary I can't post more than one link (damn reputation) so the css is at the same url but in the directory "styles" and is called "fund2.css". The rest of the site is obviously still not done, it's just the navigation I'm worried about right now. Thanks in advance, infiniti fizz

  • Hiding Text in ie7

    So I have this text generated by a javascript plugin. <a class="className">Text</a> a.className { background: url(images/a-image.png) no-repeat; } But the "Text" shows on top of the image... Now... with any respectable web browser, I can use color: rgba(0,0,0,0); to solve the problem, but IE7 doesn't obey standards of any sort. Any ideas?

  • How to design websites for all display sizes

    I like to use a lot of unique graphics on my pages, which often results in making different page sizes depending on available screen width/height. Here are two examples: http://www.uvm.edu/~areid/homesite/ - the image floats at the bottom of my screen but on a larger browser, the image floats near the middle making it look off. It looks best when the bottom of the window aligns with the bottom of the image www.stevenlebel.com - it loads two different pages depending on what monitor size is detected. This seems like a lot of redundant coding. My question is, how can I make sliced/Photoshop images transition well to different screen sizes. Does Photoshop allow you to make DIVS instead of tables? Can i make each of the slices created by Photoshop grow/shrink when the browser window size changes? If anyone has any input on creating websites like this I would be very interested to hear what they have to say. Thanks Katie

    Hi, I'm trying to add a JS fly to basket plugin to the site I'm working on, but the plugin needs unique productID numbers, is there a way to iterate this in Smarty when not in a foreach loop? Something like: {$smarty.foreach.foo.iteration} Here's the code I need to itrate: <span id="slidingProd57404045"> <a href="{link controller=order action=addToCart id=$product.ID returnPath=true}" rel="nofollow" class="addToCart" title="Bestill" onclick="addToBasket(57404045); return false;" id="fly_to_basket">&nbsp;</a> </span> The 57404045 needs to be iterated.   • Having issues with div layouts

I'm working on http://www.catgriz.com On the frontpage I have a slideshow that stacks all of the information on top of itself when you initially visit the page. But after a simple browser refresh, it displays correctly. I was hoping someone could look at it and point me in the right direction of what I've done wrong. I'm using Joomla with a Yootheme. When I'm ready to push patches or whole new versions I'm currently copying the files individually, is there a program that can help me do this task?     I have a page (call it form.php) with a form for users to fill out. When the form is submitted, I want to validate it with a server-side script (call it validate.php if necessary, although the code could also go in one of the other pages if that would be better). If any part of the form fails validation, I want to kick back to form.php with the fields the user needs to fix highlighted. If the form passes validation, I want to go to another page, success.php. Which page should I put in the "action" attribute of the <form> element, and what's the best way to get from that page to one of the others?

  • adding new Input to jquery validationEngine form?

    I have some fairly complex ajax logic etc going on in the onValidationComplete function for a form with jQuery Validation Engine. This is working perfect, but one thing is bothering me. in the form I have the ability to dynamically add inputs (add new row button). so my code structure wise looks like: var form = $('#myForm'); form.validationEngine('attach', {onValidationComplete:validationComplete}); $('#newInput').on('click', function(){ form.append('<input />'); form.validationEngine('detach'); form.validationEngine('attach', {onValidationComplete:validationComplete}); }); function validationComplete(form, status){/*all my logic here*/} What I don't like about it is that every time I add a new input I have to detach and then re-attach the validationEngine. Is there any way to just tell it to add the new input to it's list of inputs to validate?

  • How do I toggle CSS with jQuery?

    I have the following code: $('#bc' + $.trim($this) + ' span.dashed-circle').css({ 'border' : '5px solid #000'}); That is triggered by a click.function(). I would like that to be a toggle - so when I click the element, it changes the border to what I have above...but when it is clicked again it disappears or rather sets the border to ' '. Thoughts? Edit: I should have been explicit...but I don't want to create a CSS class. The reason being is because when I do that, it messes up the formatting of the element being styled. I am sure that it is some small quirk somewhere that would fix it, but I am not interested in wading through the entire code base to fix little positioning issues with a new class. I would much rather just edit the css attribute directly - because it doesn't interfere with the layout. Edit2: Here is the jsfiddle of the code I am trying to edit. If you notice, I have the CSS attributes last. But how do I let that be toggled ? Edit3: If anyone is interested...the UI that this will be used in is for my webapp - http://www.compversions.com

    Hi, I know how you can set an tag's url attribute programmatically in c#, but it seems when I try to access the image element inside of a tag I cannot access it. The is residing in the . NOTE: I am only having this issue inside the Now the ListView tag is also databound.(this is probably why I cannot access, because it isn't guaranteed that it will even exist perhaps). How can I get around this so that I can display my images programmatically or is there a better solution?   • li + float crashes IE6

    I know. The dreaded ugly browser we don't want to support, but, it seems it couldn't be simpler to crash this thing. The URL The images gallery is a Joomla Plugin(Sigplus) and works fine with all other standard browsers. In IE it was not showing correctly, all the images were showing in one line vertically one below the other. But the browser would not hang or crash and the gallery worked as well. This is a Joomla plugin and I didn't want to mess with how it works, so, for IE I added a simple rule in the header : <!--[if lt IE 7]> <style> li { float:left; margin-right:5px; } </style> <![endif]--> This fixed the issue and the gallery shows up as it should. But, as you scroll down, as you reach the last row of images IE hangs and crashes. I tried deleting the last 5 images thinking it was something to do with the images themselves. But now it hangs on the current last row and crashes. Know what it could be?
