  • Tiled Image for background of DIV is making IE sllllowww when scrolling

    Take a look at http://www.pmverge.com at the "We're in Bootstrap Mode" DIV on the right-hand side. Having that background tile image is causing the IE browser (all versions) to drag when scrolling. What can I do to keep that tiled style but not have it slow down IE. background-image: url(http://blog.pmverge.com/assets/images/background.gif) NOTES Yes this is the Stackoverflow.com engine as I'm licensing it. The background watermark image is not slowing the page down (though it has about 50k).

    I have a regular input box (no onchange attribute). <input type="text" id="bar" name="bar" /> For some reason, IE6+ does returns [object], while FF and Chrome returns null. if ((elem.getAttributeNode('onchange')) != null) elem.onchange(); I did also try as: if (typeof(elem.onchange) !== 'undefined') elem.onchange(); What would be the proper cross-browser way to check if the element has the attribute?     I have a situation. I have a label in ASP.NET 2.0(C#). The label should display a dutch language text that is "Sähköpostiosoite", I tried setting the Label.Text both from markup and code-behind but what I see in the browser response is "Sähköpostiosoite". Originally assigned string "Sähköpostiosoite" get replaced with "Sähköpostiosoite". I have no idea why this happens can you please help me diagnose the problem ??

    I had a setting in my domain controller to redirect my domain that another domain. Example http://mysite.com redirected to http://othersite.com I removed the redirect about one week ago, but some users still seeing the redirect http://othersite.com rather than http://mysite.com. Clearing the browser cache fixes the problem. Is there are way I can force users to update their cache when they go to my site?

    I write my handler for server errors and define it at root urls.py: handler500 = 'myhandler' And I want to write unittest for testing how it works. For testing I write view with error and define it in test URLs configuration, when I make request to this view in browser I see my handler and receive status code 500, but when I launch test that make request to this view I see stack trace and my test failed. Have you some ideas for testing handler500 by unittests?

    I want a layout with two columns, two divs, where the left one has fluid width and the right one has fixed width. So far so good - see jsfiddle below - however, the height of the right column must be in relation to the height of the left column. So that if I have some content in the fluid column and would resize the browser window, thereby increasing or decreasing the height of the left column, the right one should follow and getting the same height. What I need to do is get the URL of the portal (parent) that called my .NET app. So far I've tried to get the URL inside my c# code using Request.Url.AbsoluteUri but this is not working.
