• Internet Explorer randomly drops sessions between pages in cakePHP

  Hello everyone, I've come across an extremely unusual bug that my team has literally no idea how to solve. Doing some research, I found some similar solutions that I thought would work, but alas did not. Here is my situation, let me know if I can provide additional insight to help solve the problem. The first step is that someone chooses a country via a flash map. Flash passes this region name (as well as a date) through the URL, which we then convert to a session. The next page contains no Flash and doesn't display the selected region, but it does hold on to it for further down the process. Everything works perfectly in Safari and Firefox; however, in IE sometimes unexpected results occur. Frequently (but not always), the session is dropped completely and no sessions are stored between the first and 2nd pages. Here are the steps that I have taken thus far, unsuccessfully: 1. Changed Security from Medium - Low 2. Changed CheckUserAgent from True - False 3. Changed storing of sessions from PHP - Database Some additional information that may be useful: I have tried printing out the session data in Debug (debug($_SESSION) on my view file and debug set to 2 in config). In Internet Explorer everything prints out as expected EXCEPT when the region and date don't get set. For example: If the region and date don't get set NOTHING is printed out for debug. I don't get the session details at the top, and I don't get the normal dump of calls at the bottom of the page either. I am not using redirection on these pages. Please let me know if you have ANY idea of what is causing this or any solutions. I am beyond frustrated and have tried as much as I can to solve this. Thanks!

• Binding a Value from a View-Model to the View-Model of a child User Control in Silverlight?

  Hi there, So i have a UserControl for one of my Views and have another 'child' UserControl inside that. The outer 'parent' UserControl has a Collection on its View-Model and a Grid control on it to display a list of Items. I want to place another UserControl inside this UserControl to display a form representing the details of one Item. The outer / parent UserControl's View-Model already has a property on it to hold the currently selected Item and i would like to bind this to a DependancyProperty on the inner / child UserControl. I would then like to bind that DependancyProperty to a property on the child UserControl's View-Model. I can then set the DependancyProperty once in XAML with a binding expression and have the child UserControl do all its work in its View-Model like it should. The code i have looks like this.. It appears to be a situation where there are two concurrent bindings which need to work but with the same target for two sources. Why won't the second (in the child UserControl) binding work??   Hi, I want to create a php webservice server to be used from a C# application. I want to have a library who autogenerate wsdl file for easy management (That's the reason why I choosed NuSoap). I tried to use nusoap on PHP5. I have some problems with charset and Content-Type. Visual Studio gives this error : The HTML document does not contain Web service discovery information. Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'https://www.xxx.yy'. There is a problem with the XML that was received from the network. See inner exception for more details. The encoding in the declaration 'ISO-8859-1' does not match the encoding of the document 'utf-8'.   I have to select an <a> element from the given class of objects. when i click on the anchor tag in the showcase_URL class, i want the jquery function to get the value from <a> tag. How can this be done? I cannot make this an id as I am running a while loop to construct all the elements in php. there would be multiple objects of this class. there is no definite selector through which I can get the value of the anchor tag. • What makes deployment successful for some users and unsuccessful for others?

  I am trying to deploy a Visual C++ application (developed with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008) using a Setup and Deployment Project. After installation, users on some target computers get the following error message after launching the application executable: “This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.” Another user after installation could run the application properly. I cannot find the root cause of this problem, despite spending several hours on the Visual Studio help files and online forums (most postings date back to 2006). Does anyone at Stack Overflow have a suggestion? Thanks in advance. Additional details appear below. The application uses FLTK 1.1.9 for a GUI library, as well as some Boost 1.39 libraries (regex, lexical_cast, date_time, math). I made sure I am trying to deploy the release version (not the debug version) of the application. The Runtime library in the Code Generation settings is Multi-threaded DLL (/MD). The dependency walker of myapp.exe lists the following DLLs: wsock32.dll, comctl32.dll, kernel32.dll, user32.dll, gdi32.dll, shell32.dll, ole32.dll, mvcp90.dll, msvcr90.dll. In the Setup and Deployment Project, I add the following DLLs to the File System on Target Machine: fltkdlld.dll, and a folder named Microsoft.VC90.CRT with msvcm90.dll, msvcp90.dll, mcvcr90.dll and Microsoft.VC90.CRT.manifest. The installation process on the target computers getting the error message requires having the .Net Framework 3.5 installed first. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance!

  Hello everybody! Today, I've started with Yahoo Query Language. I would use it to retrive stocks details, so I'm talking about Yahoo Finance. I think there is a bug on this language. This is my query: select * from yahoo.finance.quoteslist where symbol='@^GSPC' I ALWAYS get 51 results! it's impossible, take a look at: http://it.finance.yahoo.com/q/cp?s=^GSPC There are 500 results! • Excel automation: Close event missing

  Another hi all, I am doing Excel automation via Interop in C#, and I want to be informed when a workbook is closed. However, there is no Close event on the workbook nor a Quit event on the application. Has anybody done that before? How can I write a piece of code which reacts to the workbook being closed (which is only executed if the workbook is really closed)? Ideally that should happen after closing the workbook, so I can rely on the file to reflect all changes. Details about what I found so far: There is a BeforeClose() event, but if there are unsaved changes this event is raised before the user being asked whether to save them, so at the moment I can process the event, I don't have the final file and I cannot release the COM objects, both things that I need to have/do. I do not even know whether the workbook will actually be closed, since the user might choose to abort closing. Then there is a BeforeSave() event. So, if the user chooses "Yes" to save unsaved changes, then BeforeSave() is executed after BeforeClose(). However, if the user chooses to "Abort", then hits "file-save", the exact same order of events is executed. Further, if the user chooses "No", the BeforeSave() isn't executed at all. The same holds as long as the user doesn't click any of these options.

Opera is good enough, though it prints the main document instead of just the object. IE7 gives the following error details: Line: 57 Char: 1 Error: 'undefined' is null or not an object Line 57 is where the button's "input" tag starts in the HTML source. Thanks to the alert('contentWindow is null') call in the JS function, I know that the object I'm getting in IE has no contentWindow property. I have tried changing the object tag to an iframe tag. This changes the JS behaviour, but causes other issues such as the height attribute being ignored and the content not displaying. Sticking with an object tag, how can I get this Object's window in IE7?

• ADO.NET Multiple simultaneous reads from an open database.

  Answer not needed - my logic was wrong and this question is invalid. Charles helped me see where I went off-tracks. Thanks I have a utility that moves data from one source to another. In the process of writing the record I check to see if it exists and do an update/insert as necessary. The difficulty I have is that as I'm writing the main record info there is a 2nd table for "custom data" that I have to check to see if it exists and do an update/insert for that as well. Example: I may be loading a pencil sharpener that may or may not exist. While I'm writing it into destination it has characteristics such as style, color, etc. and each of them may or may not exist. As written I seem to need to have 2 DataReaders open, one for the sharpener and one to check for and update color. I am new to ADO.NET, but not to programming and it's more complicated than I listed but for sanity's sake I didn't put all the details. My question is: What am I missing? You can't have 2 readers open at the same time on a connection, yet I can't close the first if I'm stepping through all products. It seems inefficient to have 2 connections, readers, etc. for this. Is there a feature of ADO.NET DBs that I'm missing? How would you do it? Thanks!

  In Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and .NET 2.0, I want to convert the current date to a string of this format: "YYYY-MM-DD". For example, December 12th 2009 would become "2009-12-20". How do I do this in SQL. The context of this SQL statement in the table definiton. In other words, this is the default value. So when a new record is created the default value of the current date is stored as a string in the above format. I'm trying: SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 102) AS [YYYY.MM.DD] But SQL server keeps converting that to: ('SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 102) AS [YYYY.MM.DD]') so the result is just: 'SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 102) AS [YYYY.MM.DD]' Here's a screen shot of what the Visual Studio server explorer, table, table definition, properties shows: These wrapper bits are being adding automatically and converting it all to literal string: (N' ') Here's the reason I'm trying to use something other than the basic DATETIME I was using previously: This is the error I get when hooking everything to an ASP.NET GridView and try to do an update via the grid view: Server Error in '/' Application. • Logging exceptions to database in NServiceBus

  If an exception occurs in my MessageHandler I want to write the exception details to my database. How do I do this? Obviously, I cant just catch the exception, write to database, and rethrow it since NSB rollbacks all changes. (IsTransactional is set to true) I tried adding logging functionality in a seperate handler, which I caledl using SendLocal if an exception occured, but this does not work: public void Handle(MessageItem message) { try { DoWork(); } catch(Exception exc) { Bus.SendLocal(new ExceptionMessage(exc.Message)); throw; } } I also tried using Log4Net with a custom appender, but this also rolled back. • iPad keyboard will not dismiss if navigation controller presentation style is "form sheet".

  UPDATE: This is apparently "works as intended" classed by Apple. See accepted answer below for details. Update: this question is about a behavior discovered in the iPad keyboard, where it refuses to be dismissed if shown in a modal dialog with a navigation controller. Basically, if I present the navigation controller with the following line: navigationController.modalPresentationStyle = UIModalPresentationFormSheet; The keyboard refuses to be dismissed. If I comment out this line, the keyboard goes away fine. ... I've got two textFields, username and password; username has a Next button and password has a Done button. The keyboard won't go away if I present this in a modal navigation controller. • What's wrong with my object tag to embed a Java Applet?

  Here is my object tag. <object classid="java:my.full.class.Name.class" height="360" width="320"> <param name="type" value="application/x-java-applet"> <param name="archive" value="applets.jar"> <param name="file" value="/report_files/1-1272041330710YAIwK"> <param name="codebase" value="/applets"> </object> When I run this in firefox it just shows up with an Error, click for details. The java console shows absolutely nothing. And at the bottom of fire fox is says "Applet my.full.class.Name notloaded". The Name.class file is in the applets.jar file. I can type the URL /applets/applets.jar and access the jar file. So whats wrong? EDIT: I can access the param file as well, although I don't believe that is the issue. EDIT: I updated the tag because I noticed in my HTML logs it wasn't looking in the right place. Still nothing though

• PHP File Upload, files disappearing from /tmp before move_uploaded_files

  Hi, I have a very basic upload script, probably lifted straight off the php.net/move_upload_files function page. move_uploaded_file() is failed because it cannot find the tmp file in the tmp folder. But I KNOW that it is being put there, but is removed before move_upload_file() can deal with it in my script. I know it is being put there since I can see a file in there when a large file is being posted to the server. Also $_FILEScontains correct details for the file I have just uploaded. Had anyone have any idea why the temporary file is being removed from /tmp before I have a chance to handle it? Here is the basic code that I am using. if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['userfile']['tmp_name'], $upload_file)) { $result['error'] = 'false'; $result['file_loc'] = $upload_file; } else { $result['error'] = 'true'; } The output of print_r($_FILES) looks like [userfile] => Array ( [name] => switchsolo.png [type] => image/png [tmp_name] => /tmp/phpIyKRl5 [error] => 0 [size] => 6690 ) But /tmp/phpIyKRl5 simply isn't there.

• Google App Engine Java app couldn't find javac ?

  I'm learning to use Google App Engine, I installed it in Netbeans, the project works, but when I clicked on "Deploy To Google App Engine", I got the following error : Beginning server interaction for ... 0% Creating staging directory 5% Scanning for jsp files. 8% Compiling jsp files. 11% Compiling java files. Error Details: Apr 20, 2010 3:51:23 PM org.apache.jasper.JspC processFile INFO: Built File: \PayPal_Monitor.jsp java.lang.IllegalStateException: cannot find javac executable based on java.home, tried "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javac.exe" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\bin\javac.exe" Unable to update app: cannot find javac executable based on java.home, tried "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javac.exe" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\bin\javac.exe" Please see the logs [C:\Users\NM\AppData\Local\Temp\appcfg3946701335172983337.log] for further information. The file "javac.exe" is in : C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_18\bin How can I add it to "java.home" ? • Is it possible to include a Sexpr before the expression has been evaluated in Sweave / R ?

  Hello, I'm writing a Sweave document, and I want to include a small section that details the R and package versions, platofrms and how long ti took to evalute the doucment, however, I want to put this in the middle of the document ! I was using a \Sexpr{elapsed} to do this (which didn't work), but thought if I put the code printing elapsed in a chunk that evaluates at the end, I could then include the chunk half way through, which also fails. • Access 2007 not allowing user to delete record in subform

  Good day... The root of my issue is that there's no context menu allowing the user to delete a row from a form. The "delete" button on the ribbon is also disabled. In Access 2003, apparently this function was available, but since our recent "upgrade" to 2007 (file is still in MDB format) it's no longer there. Please keep in mind I'm not an Access dev, nor did I create this app - I inherited support for it. ;) Now for the details, and what I've tried. The form in question is a subform on a larger form. I've tried turning "AllowDeletes" on on both forms. I've checked the toolbar and ribbon properties on the forms to see if they loaded some custom stuff, but no. I've tried changing the "record locks" to "on edit", no joy. I examined the query to see if it was "too complicated" to permit a delete - as far as I can tell, it's a very simple two (linked) table join. Compared to another form in this app that does permit row deletes, it has a much more complicated (multi-join, built on queries) query. Is there a resource that would describe the required conditions for allowing deletes? Thanks in advance...

  Hi I have problems with my keyup binding when cloning an element. Here's the scenario: I have an html markup like this: <tr class="rijbasis"> <td> <input type="text" class="count" /> </td> <td> <span class="cost">10</span> </td> <td> <span class="total">10</span> </td> </tr> I'm binding an keyup function to the input element of my table row like this: $('.rijbasis input').keyup(function(){ var parent = $(this).parent().parent(); $('.total',parent).text(parseInt($('.cost',parent).text()) * parseInt($('.count',parent).val())); } I designed the function like this so I could clone the table row on a onclick event and append it to the tbody: $('.lineadd').click(function(){ $('.contract tbody').append($('.contract tbody tr:last').clone()); $('.contract tbody tr:last input').val("0"); }); This al works , but the keyup function doesnt work on the input elements of the cloned row.. Can anybody help or advice? I hope I was clear enough and I'll be surely adding details if needed to solve this problem. Greetings

• Custom Solr sorting

  Hello everyone, I've been asked to do an evaluation of Solr as an alternative for a commercial search engine. The application now has a very particular way of sorting results using something called "buckets". I'll try to explain with a bit of details: In the interface they have 2 fields: "what" and "where". Both fields are actually sets of fields (what = category, name, contact info... and where= country, state, region, city...) so the copyfield feature of Solr immediately comes to mind. Now based on the field generated the actual match the result should end up in a specific bucket. In particular the first bucket contains all the result documents that have an exact match on the category field, in the second bucket all exact matches on name, the third partial matches on category, the fourth partial matches on name, the fifth matches on contact info etc... Then within each of those first tier buckets all results are placed in second tier buckets depending on what location was matched: city, then region, then province and so on. To even complicate things more there is also a third tier bucket where results are placed according to the value of a ranking field: all documents with the value 1 in the ranking field go in bucket 1 and so on. And finally results should be randomized in the third tier bucket... On top of this they obviously want support for facets and paging. My apologies for the long mail but I would greatly appreciate feedback and/or suggestions. I'm aware that this that this is a very particular problem but everything that points me in the right direction is helpful. Cheers, Tom

• Default update detailViewController, HELP.

  I've created an app that allows users to add information (from an addViewController), which is then displayed in a UITableView on the rootViewController. When the user taps the tableViewCell the detailViewController then displays, you guessed it, more details regarding the inputted user information. What I'm trying to accomplish is to setup an editViewController that will allow users to edit information they've already submitted. Currently, I'm trying to auto-populate the editViewController with the information that was previously submitted by the user (after which they can press save and update the info). However, I'm getting stuck trying to perform this auto-populating and I'm not sure this is even the best route to accomplish this.
