    hey guys i need to implement a standard encryption decryption logic across an entire project platform which has different clients implemented using different platforms as follows: 1) iphone app (objectiv c) 2) website (classic asp) 3) webservice (asp.net) the iphone app as well as the website need to send info to webservice using encrypted query strings the web service then decrypts this and processes the info further wanted to know the simplest way to achieve this. is there some free and ready to use binary available with an easy to use api to achieve this? encryption needs to be as secure as possible thnx in advance

    Ok, im developing some software which requires file icons to display lists of files on a computer... i don't want to use the system ExtractAssociatedIcon api's i'd rather load the icons for the file extensions out of a database...   • Soundcloud uploading to specific set/playlist

    I'm uploading some audio to soundcloud, but would like to add the audio to a specific playlist i have also created, without making an extra request (see "Adding Sounds to a Set" http://developers.soundcloud.com/docs/api/guide#uploading). Is it possible to upload directly to a playlist? Alternatively, I could send an extra request to add the track to the playlist but how would you do this in AS3. I see examples for JavaScript but am unsure how this would work in Flash.

I need the request and response to pass it to another API call.

    After I discontinued programming in C++ while entering into web authoring I was spoilt by PHP's high level constructs like hash tables or its dynamic, weak typing. I remembered the angst of C/C++ pointers and the maze of low-level Win32 API handles and message loops and that prevented me from utilizing environments like Code::Blocks for desktop applications. I am also not very fond of bulky, statically-typed C#/.NET environment. Any other ideas?

  • Secure web module for paid subscribtion

    Hello everyone, I'm building a website (a community web site like digg) but we will soon release a new feature that people will need to pay for. Right now, our website is in pure C# in .NET, very simple pages with some AJAX. When the member log in, there is no HTTPS. Everything is check with session and the internal validation that I do. What we need, is that when the people are logged in, they can click on a link a proceed to a payment (Paypal, credit card, etc). After the payment is done, the "billing module" will return a value to my site to validate that the payment is done so the account will be flagged as "paying member". I'm guessing this is the way to do, maybe I'm wrong! So my questions are: -What is the name of this kind of billing module? (I will do some research on that) -Do you know any ready to go module that does this kind of thing? -(I push my luck) Do you know any FREE module that do this kind of things.     I'm trying to make a page using data from the discogs.com (XML)-API. i've been parsing it with simpleXML and it's working pretty well but there is some things i'm not sure how to do. Here is part of the XML: <releases> <release id="1468764" status="Accepted" type="Main"> <title>Versions</title> <format>12", EP</format> <label>Not On Label</label> <year>1999</year> </release> <release id="72246" status="Accepted" type="Main"> <title>The M.O.F Blend</title> <format>LP</format> <label>Blenda Records</label> <year>2002</year> </release> <release id="890064" status="Accepted" type="Main"> <title>The M.O.F Blend</title> <format>CD</format> <label>Blenda Records</label> <year>2002</year> </release> <release id="1563561" status="Accepted" type="TrackAppearance"> <title>Ännu En Gång Vol. 3</title> <trackinfo>Backtrack</trackinfo> <format>Cass, Comp, Mix</format> <label>Hemmalaget</label> <year>2001</year> </release> </releases> What i want to achieve is something similair to how discogs presents the releases: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Mics+Of+Fury where diferent versions of the same release are sorted together. (see. The M.O.F Blend in my link) This is done on discogs with having a master release that features the other releases. unfortunately this information isn't present in the API data, so i want to do the same thing by grouping the <release>-nodes with the same <title>-tags, or add a flag to the <releases> that don't have a unique <title>? any good ideas on the best way of doing this? i also like to know if it's possible to count the <release>-nodes (child of releases) that have the same type-attribute? like in this example count the releases with the type "Main"? maybe it's better to do this things with XMLReader or XPath?
