  • SQL Server and Identity column

    - by andrew007
Hi, I just noticed that if I have an identity column in a table, when I insert new rows SQL Server 2008 is automatically filling up the sequence if there are discontinuity. I mean, if in my identity column I have 1,2,5,6 if I insert other two rows in the table the system puts automatically 3,7 in the identity column. Do you know how to control this behavior? THANKS

  • Mercurial & Windows Server 2003

    - by tjsimmons
Hi all, I just set up Mercurial on our main webserver, hosting repositories via hgwebdir.cgi. The problem I'm having now is when I run hg push from my local machine to the server's repository, it takes an absolutely ridiculous amount of time to push a very small directory, with only a single changeset. Is it possible that I've set something up wrong? I keep getting HTTP Error 502: Bad Gateway. Thanks!

    - by parminder
Hi Experts, I have a tables with data like this Id BookId TagId 34 113421 9 35 113421 10 36 113421 11 37 113421 1 38 113422 9 39 113422 1 40 113422 12 I need to write a query (SQL Server) which gives me data according to the tags say if I want bookIds where tagid =9 it should return bookid 113421 and 113422 as it exists in both the books, but If I ask data for tags 9 and 10 it should return only book 113421 as that is the only book where both the tags are present. Thanks Parminder

  • Update thousands of records in a DataSet to SQL Server

    - by MSIL
I have half a million records in a data set of which 50,000 are updated. Now I need to commit the updated records back to the SQL Server 2005 Database. What is the best and efficient way to do this considering the fact that such updates could be frequent (though concurrency is not an issue but performance is)

  • Tools to update tables in SQL server 2000/2005

    - by Stan
Is there any handy tool that can make updating tables easier? Usually I got an Excel file with the original value in one column and new value in another column. Then I write a formula in Excel to create the 'update' statement. Is there any way to simplify the updating task? I believe the approach in SQL server 2000 and 2005 would be different, so could we discuss them both? Thanks.

  • File size in Python server

    - by Anna
We have server on Python and client + web service on Ruby. That works only if file from URL is less than 800 k. It seems like "socket.puts data" in a client works, but "output = socket.gets" - not. I think problem is in a Python part. For big files tests run "Connection reset by peer". Is it buffer size variable by default somewhere in a Python?

  • JDBC Code Change From SQL Server to Oracle

    - by BeginnerAmongBeginners
In the JDBC code, I have the following that is working with SQL Server: CallableStatement stmt = connection.prepareCall("{ call getName() }"); ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(); if(rs != null) { while(rs.next()) { //do something with rs.getString("name") } } Multiple rows are returned for the above situation. I understand that the use of a cursor is required to loop through the table in Oracle, but is there any way to keep the above code the same and accomplish the same thing? Thanks in advance.
