  • twitter bootstrap typeahead ajax example

    - by emeraldjava
    I'm trying to find a working example of the twitter bootstrap typeahead element that will make an ajax call to populate it's dropdown. I have an existing working jquery autocomplete example which defines the ajax url to and how to process the reply <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ $(document).ready(function() { var options = { minChars:3, max:20 }; $("#runnerquery").autocomplete('./index/runnerfilter/format/html',options).result( function(event, data, formatted) { window.location = "./runner/index/id/"+data[1]; } ); .. What do i need change to convert this to the typeahead example? <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ $(document).ready(function() { var options = { source:'/index/runnerfilter/format/html', items:5 }; $("#runnerquery").typeahead(options).result( function(event, data, formatted) { window.location = "./runner/index/id/"+data[1]; } ); .. I'm going to wait for the 'Add remote sources support for typeahead' issue to be resolved.

  • ScrollTo - toggle between min-height/fixed height

    - by Skoder
    Hi everyone, I'm trying to use the ScrollTo plugin, but I can't seem to get it working properly. I tried to view the source at the site I linked to but I'm trying to achieve something slightly different. I would like the window pane to change size according to the content (so the height would increase for longer text and would decrease for shorter text). However, when I supply a min-height (as opposed to a fixed height), the pane automatically changes to the maximum height when the page is loaded. So if I have something set to margin-top:1000px;, the pane will be 1000px in size regardless of what tab is currently displaying. The fix would be to use height instead, but that would mean that the window won't expand in height and the user would have to scroll. I got my code from viewing the source on the ScrollTo page, but I also tried this tutorial code. Thanks for any help

  • Javascript/iframe/embed/object question

    - by thinkfuture
    OK, so here is my issue. I'm building a system which will allow people to embed lists of links on their pages. When the link is clicked, i'd like to use something like Lightview or Lightwindow to open it up over the whole window, not just in the iframe. I don't have access to the page that the user will be embedding this object into. Everything I've tried so far tells me that I can't open anything over the parent window, since I don't have access to it from the iframe or object, javacript security issue. However, I've seen sites that do that kind of overlay. so it must be possible. If anyone can point me to any resources that could help, that would be great. if it matters, i'm using Ruby on Rails... Thanks...chris

  • Creating get/set method dynamically in javascript

    - by portoalet
    I am trying to create a UserDon object, and trying to generate the get and set methods programmatically ( based on Pro Javascript book by John Resig page 37 ), and am testing this on Firefox 3.5 The problem is: in function UserDon, "this" refers to the window object instead of the UserDon object. So after calling var userdon = new UserDon(...) I got setname and getname methods created on the window object (also setage and getage). How can I fix this? function UserDon( properties ) { for( var i in properties ) { (function(){ this[ "get" + i ] = function() { return properties[i]; }; this[ "set" + i ] = function(val) { properties[i] = val; }; })(); } } var userdon = new UserDon( { name: "Bob", age: 44 });

  • How to control a NSView, located in a dedicated NSWindow, from the main NSWindow designed to support

    - by Michael
    Hi, This is probably a simple problem for the high skilled Cocoa programmers, but I can't find how to control the graph in a separate window. I read carefully the Cocoa related books, go through many web notes,but I can't find a solution to my problem. The purpose is to use a dedicated window to draw the I=F(Vg) curves extracted by the GUI from a specific hardware. All the GUI and the hardware works fine ( thanks to the help provided by several members of stackoverflow) , but no way to send the parameters to the NSView to display the results. So far, the GUI class is based on a NSObject, the graphic class is NSView. Any idea, examples, links will be appreciated. Thank you so much. Michael

  • jquery performance of binding multiple click events.

    - by DA
    I have a situation where I need to bind a click event to an object multiple times. For instance: for(i=0;i<=100;i++){ $myObject.click(function(){ window.location = "myurl"+i+".html"; }) ...do other stuff... } Via that markup, does $myObject end up with 100 click events attached to it? Should I be unbinding the click event first each time? for(i=0;i<=100;i++){ $myObject.unbind('click').click(function(){ window.location = "myurl"+i+".html"; }) ...do other stuff... }

    Hi, I have a busybox with lighttpd running on as http server. My problem is while firefox and opera can get the page with applied xsl, Arora(webkit) can not. Here is the script I use to get it work: <html> <head> <script> function loadXMLDoc(dname) { if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { xhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else { xhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xhttp.open("GET",dname,false); xhttp.send(""); return xhttp.responseXML; } function querySt(ji) { hu = window.location.search.substring(1); gy = hu.split("&"); for (i=0;i<gy.length;i++) { ft = gy[i].split("="); if (ft[0] == ji) { return ft[1]; } } } function displayResult() { xml=loadXMLDoc("sample.xml"); alert(xml)//Gives [object Document] $scan=querySt("scan"); $sub = querySt("sub"); xsl=loadXMLDoc("sample.xsl"); alert(xsl)//Gives Null // code for IE if (window.ActiveXObject) { ex=xml.transformNode(xsl); document.getElementById("example").innerHTML=ex; } // code for Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, etc. else if (document.implementation && document.implementation.createDocument) { xsltProcessor=new XSLTProcessor(); xsltProcessor.importStylesheet(xsl); xsltProcessor.setParameter(null,"scan",$scan) if($sub != ""){ xsltProcessor.setParameter(null,"sub",$sub) } resultDocument = xsltProcessor.transformToFragment(xml,document); document.getElementById("example").appendChild(resultDocument); } } </script> </head> <body onload="displayResult()"> <div id="example" ></div> </body> </html> I tried to see if it load xsl well and put an alert(xsl) but it gives null.   • How to run Javascript code before document is completely loaded (using jQuery)

    - by eliza sahoo
    Hi all, I am sahring atip with you all.Please add on to this discussion. JQuery helps faster page load than javascript. JQuery functions are fired when the related elements are loaded, instead of complete pageload. This is a common practice to call a javascript function when page is loaded like window.onload = function(){ alert("Mindfire") } or Inside of which is the code that we want to run right when the page is loaded. Problematically, however, the Javascript code isn't run until all images are finished downloading (this includes banner ads). The reason for using window.onload in the first place is due to the fact that the HTML 'document' isn't finished loading yet, when you first try to run your code. To circumvent both problems, jQuery has a simple statement that checks the document and waits until it's ready to be manipulated, known as the ready event $(document).ready(function() { // Your code here });

  • How to determine cpu, ram needed for rails app?

    - by Ben
    What is the most accurate way to determine the amount of cpu speed and ram needed to run my rails app? I believe there are stress testing tools like Tsung, but how do I determine, for example, that I need X more ram, or X more CPU? I would like to find some way to roughly gauge the performance needs of my application so I can anticipate future needs. I think this data will also be useful for me to decide whether to upgrade one machine, or get another dedicated machine and put all the databases on that one. Essentially, I am concerned about scaling issues, and how to anticipate them. Thanks in advance for the help!

  • UI not redrawing after display powered off on Win 7

    - by oltman
    Some portions of my application's interface are not getting refreshed after Windows 7 powers down the display. More specifically, I'm swapping out images, User Controls, and a button's content while the display is powered off and after it has been restarted, and this isn't being reflected in the UI until I minimize and restore the window or move it to one of the screen's edges. I've tried calling the Window's InvalidateVisual() method when the app was in a state where it needed to redraw, and that didn't solve the problem. I have only been able to reproduce this issue on Windows 7. Any ideas?

  • Can't print elements in a DIV tag

    - by Mckenzi
    I am using a Drag-able and re-sizeable DIV's in this HTML file. Where the user will place the DIV tag to his desired place in a main parent DIV tag. Now I want to print this main DIV tag, but the problem is that the code which I'm using to PRINT this main DIV is printing in a sequence, like not the way user has arranged the DIV's. • IFRAME renders a HTML text outside of boundaries, a bug?

    - by achirlin
    IE8 in non-compatability view, Version 8.0.6001.18702 The code below represents the problem: <body><div style="height:400px;width:400px"><iframe src="http://mail.ru" height="100%" width="100%"></iframe></div></body> Scroll the IFRAME to the right to the middle of "??????? ??????? ? ???????" orange label. Alt-Tab to other window and Alt-Tab back to IE window. The internal HTML will appear ouside of IFRAME boundaries. The screenshot demonstrating the problem. Does the IFRAME rendering have a bug? May be I have an unpatched version (automatic updates are turned ON). Could you suggest a workaround except turning on Compatability View? Thank you.

  • SharePoint 2010 is forcing me to safe PDF when opening from doc library

    - by Tobias Funke
    I have a document library with a PDF file. Whenever I click on the PDF file, I am prompted to save the file. I do not get the option of opening the file, I am forced to save it. What I want is for the PDF file to open, either in the browser or in a separate Adobe Reader window, depending on the Adobe Reader settings. I'm pretty sure SharePoint is responsible for this behavior, because if I put the PDF on my hard drive, then create a HTML file with a link to the file, it opens in the browser when I click on it. Please note: I looked at this question and did not help. I don't care if the PDF opens in the browser or in a separate Adobe Reader window, I just want it to open.

  • [Rails] Cross Browser Popup size woes

    - by stephemurdoch
    I need to display certain content inside a popup window, and the body element must be 320px by 300px for styling purposes So I do the following: %p = link_to "Play in popup", popup_podcast_path(@podcast), :popup => ['new_window','height=300,width=320,toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes'] Firefox does exactly what I ask it to do, it displays a popup window, with a page body that is 320px wide and 300px high, so my content fits perfectly inside. But Chrome includes the browser frame dimensions when sizing the popup, which means that the body element is less than the required size.... i.e. if the browser titlebar is 10px high, then this is subtracted from the space allocated to the body element How do I tell Chrome, that I want the body element to be 320 by 300, and that I dont want it to subtract the width and height of the browser frame from body element dimensions It's a bit like the old box-model problem where FF and IE added padding in different ways except firefox adds the browser frame outside the desired 320x300 size, and Chrome is adding it inside

  • Is it worth it to switch from home-grown remote command interface to using JMX

    - by Sam Goldberg
    Without knowing too much about JMX, I've always assumed that it would be the best approach for building in remote management to our standalone Java server application. Our server application has some minimal remote control capability, using text commands sent via TCP/IP socket to it. Using the home grown approach, it is fairly to add a new command. (Just create new command text, and the code to handle that in the message receiver). On the other hand, we have hardly implemented any commands, even though there are many things we would like to be able to execute remotely. I am trying to weigh the value of moving to incorporating JMX (learning it, and building the interfaces), versus just sticking with the home-grown approach. Does anyone have any experience or advice regarding changing an existing application to use JMX?

  • How to remove code from HTML string?

  • Hyperlinks to download files without stopping the current page load

    - by Evgeny
    I've got an ASP.NET page that takes a long time to download and returns partial results as it's loading (as per my previous question). On the page I have some links to download files, ie. the response headers contain "Content-Disposition: attachment", so that the browser doesn't navigate away from the page. However, if the user clicks one of these links while the page is still loading it stops loading - normal behaviour, but not what I want in this case. I can get around that by adding target=_"blank" to the links, but this momentarily opens a new window and the closes it again (once the browser realises it's an "attachment"). Is there any way to avoid having those links stop the current page load without this new window trick? JavaScript is OK.

  • NSNotification on multiple objects

    - by Jan Hendrix
    Hi, In my NSApp delegate I add an observer of an object that is an NSWindow subclass that gets initiated in the delegate itself and that posts a notification once the window gets clicked. The selector is also in the delegate. From that same delegate class I initiate another object which when initiated adds itself as an observer for another window of the same NSWindow subclass of above and the selector is in this newly initiated class too. Both notifications get posted but the problem is that they get posted in both classes... Is this normal? I was hoping that it only got posted once.

  • Linking IronPython to WPF

    - by DonnyD
    I just installed VS2010 and the great new IronPython Tools extension. Currently this extension doesn't yet generate event handlers in code upon double-clicking wpf visual controls. Is there anyone that can provide or point me to an example as to how to code wpf event handlers manually in python. I've had no luck finding any and I am new to visual studio. Upon generating a new ipython wpf project the auto-generated code is: import clr clr.AddReference('PresentationFramework') from System.Windows.Markup import XamlReader from System.Windows import Application from System.IO import FileStream, FileMode app = Application() app.Run(XamlReader.Load(FileStream('WpfApplication7.xaml', FileMode.Open))) and the XAML is: <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="WpfApplication7" Height="300" Width="300"> <Button>Click Me</Button> </Window> Any help would be appreciated.

  • Change Keyboard Layout for Other Process

    - by SLaks
    I'm writing a program in C# that runs in the background and allows users to use a htokey to switch keyboard layouts in the active window. (Windows only supports CTRL+SHIFT & ALT+SHIFT) I'm using RegisterHotKey to catch the hotkey, & it's working fine. The problem is that I can't find any API to change the keyboard layout for the focused window. ActivateKeyboardLayout and LoadKeyboardLayout can only change the keyboard layout for the calling thread. Does anyone know how to change the keyboard layout for a different thread (the way the Language Bar does)?

    Please help meee. I create a project named 'tesdb3' in eclipse. I create the PHP side to access the database, and made the output as JSON.. I create the userdata.php in folder war. then I compile tesdb3 project. Folder tesdb3 and the userdata.php in war moved in local server(I use WAMP). I put the PHP in folder tesdb3. This is the result from my localhost/phpmyadmin/tesdb3/userdata.php [{"kode":"002","nama":"bambang gentolet"},{"kode":"012","nama":"Algiz"}] From that result I think the PHP side was working good.Then I create UserData.java as JSNI overlay like this: package com.tesdb3.client; import com.google.gwt.core.client.JavaScriptObject; class UserData extends JavaScriptObject{ protected UserData() {} public final native String getKode() /*-{ return this.kode; }-*/; public final native String getNama() /*-{ return this.nama; }-*/; public final String getFullData() { return getKode() + ":" + getNama(); } } Then Finally in the tesdb3.java: public class Tesdb3 implements EntryPoint { String url= "http://localhost/phpmyadmin/tesdb3/datauser.php"; private native JsArray<UserData> getuserdata(String json) /*-{ return eval(json); }-*/; public void LoadData() throws RequestException{ RequestBuilder builder = new RequestBuilder(RequestBuilder.GET, URL.encode(url)); builder.sendRequest(null, new RequestCallback(){ @Override public void onError(Request request, Throwable exception) { Window.alert("error " + exception); } public void onResponseReceived(Request request, Response response) { Window.alert("betul" + response.getText()); //data(getuserdata(response.getText())); } }); } public void data(JsArray<UserData> data){ for (int i = 0; i < data.length(); i++) { String lkode =data.get(i).getKode(); String lname =data.get(i).getNama(); Label l = new Label(lkode+" "+lname); tb.setWidget(i, 0, l); } RootPanel.get().add(new HTML("my data")); RootPanel.get().add(tb); } public void onModuleLoad() { try { LoadData(); } catch (RequestException e) { } } } The result just showing string "my data". And the Window.alert(response.getText()) showing nothing. Whyy?

  • Print out PDF with javascript [closed]

    - by Daniel Abrahamsson
    I have a need to print out multiple PDFs with the help of javascript. Is this even possible without rendering each PDF in a separate window and calling window.print()? Basically, I would like to be able to do something like print('my_pdf_url'). Edit After some searching, I have come to the conclusion that there are no other methods than the one I've described above. It is a far from perfect solution, but it works in simple cases. Edit I ended up merging the PDFs to a monster PDF on the server side and then send this single PDF to the user, who can then choose to print it out.
