• Postfixadmin Invalid Query

  This is my first time running a postfixadmin, so in my setup.php, I'm getting this error DEBUG INFORMATION: Invalid query: Unknown column 'create_date' in 'mailbox' I'm running it with MySQL. So if i'm right, my guess is that i need to create a column? under mailbox table on the postfix database? but how or whats the right syntax into creating a timedate column? My knowledge with mysql and postfix are very minimal btw. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any suggestions for addressing the issue?

• Is VirtualBox really slow compared to the host OS? (for Ruby development)

  I have VirtualBox running Ubuntu as a guest environment on my Macbook Pro running Leopard OS X 10.5. I timed the same batch of Ruby on Rails unit tests on both systems. The difference seems to be quite big. The same suite of Ruby unit tests that take 13.4 seconds in the native OS X, take 82 seconds to run in VirtualBox Ubuntu. Are other people doing the same kind of development noticing the same differences?

  Is it possible to migrate the Windows XP Pro 32 bit operating system, applications etc from a USB external drive which is the recovered hard drive from that failed system to my new desktop computer with Windows7 64 bit system? In doing so, I would like to set up the new computer with the OS and all general applications on the primary 1TB hard drive while the secondary 1TB hard drive to have nothing else but graphics programs and gaming applications complete with their related files and add-ons. What will I need to accomplish this task efficiently and economically?

  I have googled this extensively but have not been able to find a good answer. Does anyone know if ' Windows Server 2003 IAS RADIUS' will query a 'Windows Server 2012 AD DS' and be able to return the attributes correctly? This is just standard AD stuff (Remote dial-in for VPN authentication). I am hypothesizing that it will work OK, but I wanted to see if anyone had any first hand knowledge. Thanks.

  I run Windows 7 inside VirtualBox. I resized the disk of Windows 7 from 25 GB to 50 GB: VBoxManage modifyhd Windows\ 7\ Pro.vdi --resize 50000 0%...10%...20%...30%...40%...50%...60%...70%...80%...90%...100% PROBLEM: I can' grow the partition, neither with Windows 7 itself nor with GParted: It looks like VirtualBox does not tell the client OS about the new size. What additional step is necessary?

  I have a user running the latest public revision of IBM Notes (8.5.4) on a Windows 7 Pro OA installation. Under his profile and only his, when the software is run, the software opens hundreds of thousands of handles, regarding token queries. This involves only this specific user, on his computer, using only said software. I have narrowed down the issue to being related to his profile but am unsure of what to look at next. Any advice would be appreciated.

  I am trying to experiment with GNUS email in Emacs, in Windows (EDIT: x64 bit). I've got it to work in Ubuntu, but struggling with it in Windows. From http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_mono/emacs-gnutls.html#Help-For-Users I read in second paragraph: This is a little bit trickier on the W32 (Windows) platform, but if you have the GnuTLS DLLs (available from http://sourceforge.net/projects/ezwinports/files/ thanks to Eli Zaretskii) in the same directory as Emacs, you should be OK. I have downloaded and unzipped the gnutls-3.0.9-w32-bin package, but am not sure what to do with it. I have tried putting it in Program Files (x86), which is "the same directory as Emacs". I have tried putting it in the emacs-24.3 folder. I consider merging all the folders in between the two, but am hesitant as that seems a difficult troubleshoot attempt compared to my knowledge on these matters. I think Emacs needs to somehow see the gnutls binaries and/or dlls. My knowledge is limited on this. I've also struggled to understand PATHs for sometime now, and am not sure if that approach is relevant here. FYI, the emacs directory contains folders labeled bin, etc, info, leim, lisp and site-lisp. The gnutls directory contains folder labeled bin, include, lib and share. Hmm, now I'm finding lots of links on adding paths. Still, I'm skeptical that I would only add gnutls.exe path, as it seems the dlls are needed. Some additional data for Ramhound's first comment I have been attempting the (require 'gnutls) route. This seems to be the most relevant parts in the log: Opening connection to imap.gmail.com via tls... gnutls.c: [1] (Emacs) GnuTLS library not found Opening TLS connection to `imap.gmail.com'... • Can't transfer images from a camera connected to usb2 port on a pcmcia adapter

  I have an old laptop (HP OmniBook vt6200, WinXp pro, sp2) that only has usb1 ports. Transferring pictures from a digital camera is too slow, so I thought of trying one of those pccards carrying usb2 ports (D-Link Dub C2 in my case). Connecting the camera to one of the ports on the pccard, Picasa seems to freeze trying to read the camera contents, until I either disconnect the camera or the pccard. Any idea on what's wrong?

• Snow Leopard not reading NTFS

  I just upgraded a brand new Macbook Pro that I bought with 10.5 installed to Snow Leopard. After doing the upgrade I am trying to access NTFS partitions on my external hard drive but they are just not showing up. I went ahead and installed Windows 7 using Parallels, and I can access the NTFS partitions from within Windows, but not from Mac OS X. I know that Snow Leopard should be able to at least read NTFS drives, so what is going on here?

  I have a 256 kbit/s Internet connection. Most often, I find that the browsing speed is too slow. I have to use TCPView (SysInternals) to find out which program is accessing the Internet without my knowledge and terminate it. Previously I was using ZoneAlarm to control Internet access by installed programs. But as it doesn't work for Windows 7, I'm left with no option. Is there any other tool which serves the purpose?

• Full Disk Encryption for Mac (Not PGP)

  I purchased PGP Whole Disk Encryption for my Macbook Pro, and it's exactly what I need. After the Symantec acquisition, PGP no longer sells single licenses of the software so I can't purchase a second copy for my iMac. Since I can no longer buy PGP Whole Disk Encryption, can anyone suggest an alternative? I'm currently using Filevault, but I specifically want whole disk encryption. I'm using a quad-core i7 iMac running Snow Leopard and I'm also hoping to protect my Windows Bootcamp partition.

  I am setting up a mail server: Dovecot and Postfix with MySQL support and Postfixadmin. Spend literally all day trying to figure it out, but I'm still unable to neither send nor receive any emails. To my knowledge, I have configured everything correctly, so either there is another problem, or my knowledge isn't good enough.   I couldn't find anything much about this, but I'm interested what are pros and cons (if any) in using /etc/services for in-house software? On my Linux distro (Ubuntu 14.04) at the end of /etc/services is a comment: # Local services hinting that it could be a good thing to do. One thing that comes to mind is that having in-house ports in /etc/services would make serv database a reference point for common knowledge and much better source of default ports for applications throughout the system.
