  • Add files/folders/Apps to a new User Account

    I have created a new user acct. for my roommate. I/we don't really care much for IE, and I'd like to add Google Chrome, and FF for her, to let her choose her own browser. Plus I'd like to add some other apps for her, and transfer some of her personal info that she's been storing on my administrative acct. (i.e. personal photos and such). So, like I said the account is set up. But when I go to use Chrome, it won't open. It, along with other apps are listed in the list of "approved" applications under the parental control list. (Application Restrictions List) But they either don't show up when searched for,( in her acct.) or won't open and operate. One other example is Faststone Capture. And then, I've got one application, Yahoo, "Unchecked", and yet there it is in her account, AND IT WORKS! I do not get it. The purpose to setting up an account for her was to only restrict that she couldn't delete, or uninstall anything on the computer. I don't care, (obviously within reason) what she installs, but NO TAKING AWAY! lol Here is a screen shot of the restrictions list: So, here I sit, wondering what I did wrong, or forgot to do in order for these to work. I don't care if Yahoo works or not. But her photos being transferred, Chrome/FF working, and Faststone Capture working, are a priority for me. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate any advice. Thanks! OH Edit: Also, my account is an Administrative one. The account I am creating for her is just a Standard User Acct.

  • SQL Server 2008 R2 Error 15401 when trying to add a domain user

    I am trying to add a domain user. I am doing the following. Expand Security Right click on Logins Select New Login... Login name select search Click on location and select entire directory Type username Click checkname The name goes underlined and add some more info Click OK Click OK I then get the following error: I have found http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324321. The Login does exist There is no Duplicate security identifiers Authentication failure I don't think is happening as I can browse AD Case sensitivity should not be the problem as I am doing the checkname and it is correcting it. Not a Local account Name resolution again I can see the AD I have rebooted the server (VM) and the issue is still happening. Any ideas? Edit I have also: Domain member: Digitally encrypt secure channel data (when possible) – Disable this policy Domain member: Digitally sign secure channel data (when possible) – Disable this policy Rebooted server http://talksql.blogspot.com/2009/10/windows-nt-user-or-group-domainuser-not.html Edit 2 I have also: Digitally encrypt or sign secure channel data (always)- Disabled Rebooted Edit 3 Since the question have moved site I no longer haves access to comment etc...   • Textmate add multiline text at end of line

    In Textmate, I am able to add text to several lines at once by clicking and holding the Option key and dragging with the mouse. say I have the following lines: foo 1: foo 2: foo 3: I can easily click and hold option and then drag down with the lines to select the text at the end of each line, and then type "bar" once and it will be added to all lines, as such: foo 1: bar foo 2: bar foo 3: bar Fantastic. The problem I run into, is when my lines aren't the same length, as such foo 19: foo 37842342346: foo 503: Now if I want to add text to the end of each line, I have to either do it manually, or choose enough space so that the longest line is not overwritten, as such: foo 19: bar foo 37842342346: bar foo 503: bar This results in a lot of unwanted whitespace in lines that don't need it. Granted, I could easily run a regular expression search to replace all multiple occurrences of a space with a single one, but I was wondering if there's a way to select all ending of lines at once without having to do that. Any idea? Thanks!

The "test account settings" says it's all good. I click NEXT and ... THE REQUESTED OPERATION FAILED No explanation, nothing else.

  • Add DNS suffixes to a Sonicwall PRO2040 firewall?

    I want to have our network pass out DNS suffixes with the DHCP assignments, so that we don't need to add them to the TCP/IP settings on each computer. Our DHCP is not being handled by an actual server box, but by our Sonicwall firewall, which is a PRO 2040. Can this firewall be set up to append DNS suffixes? Thanks!

    Hello everyone, I have a client with a bunch of children using about 30 machines on a regular basis. All machines that the children user are set with Static IP Addresses. The machines that the kids use, I would like to be able to run a script that will remove the default gateway so they cant get to the Internet. Then I need another that will add the Default gateway, so Windows and software updates can be run. Both scripts need to use the domain admin account for permissions Any help would be greatly appreciated

Now, we would like to host bar.foo.com at some other provider B - they have the domain set up with them, so I figure that I can do this by somehow adding the nameserver at provider B to the DNS configuration at provider A.   • adding an existing implementation file to an xcode project won't work

    As I write most of my code using MacVIM, I need to add the new files to the XCode project in order to compile them into the executable. Today however I encoutered an implementation file (.m) wich XCode won't allow to be added. It appears light gray the appropriate finder window as if it were already included in the project, but when I try to build, I get a linker error, stating that the symbol defined this implementation file could not be found. The corresponding header file could be added without problems. Any idea what could have caused this problem? Btw. I deleted a former version of the same file from the "Classes" tree before, as well as many others wich were successfully re-added. Thanks in advance.

    I am using Linux Malware Detect to scan and report on malware, but on a daily basis I receive alerts for malware in users emails (mainly spam folder). I do not want alerts for this, the spam folders are cleaned often, and the users may clean it also. I tried adding wildcards into /usr/local/maldetect/ignore_paths as follows but they are not ignored: /home/*/homes/*/Maildir /home/?/homes/?/Maildir Does anyone know how to exclude folders using wildcards, as it would not be practical to add the full path of every users mail directory.
