    Hello, I'm on shared hosting and today i discovered there are some backdoor script.. in .htaccess and a php file. So i went to check via FTP, cannot edit nor delete. So i checked with direct admin.. the file permission(GUID, UID) is set by APACHE while rest of file is set by my username, So my question now is.. the trojan did this is originated from my computer or host side?

    I am configuring a new box on slicehost to set it up as a webserver. I am following the steps listed at http://articles.slicehost.com/2010/5/20/installing-apache-on-debian To summarize, the steps are: sudo aptitude update sudo aptitude install apache2 sudo nano /etc/apache2/conf.d/servername.conf sudo /usr/sbin/apache2ctl graceful After completing all the steps I get a 401 when visiting the root of the site (http://67.180.210.158/). What would be the right steps to diagnose what's going on here?

  • apache spawning too many processes despite maxclient and other constraints

    Here are my MPM constraints: StartServers 10 MinSpareServers 10 MaxSpareServers 10 MaxClients 10 MaxRequestsPerChild 2000 However despite this, I have over 20 apache processes running currently, and in the past hour or two there have been as many as 40-50. Shouldn't the MaxClient and MaxSpareServers keep the number of processes under control (i.e. about 10)? Is there something I'm missing?

However I now also have another service I want to use a proxy pass with when a certain directory is accessed. So servername.com/ goes to one and servername.com/specialdir goes to the other. I currently have a virtualhost handling the former. How would I go about adding in the latter?

Turned off http and mysql (because I didn't want conflict with LLAMPP) chkconfig httpd off chkconfig mysqld off then successfully LAMPP started with /opt/lampp/lampp start Starting XAMPP for Linux 1.7.3a... Problem: Unable to connect - Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 179.16.51.36. I need some pointers as to where to look next. I have a directive that goes something like this: Options MultiViews FollowSymLinks I have a location directive where I have Options +Includes This causes warning errors in my Apache error log: mod_include: Options +Includes (or IncludesNoExec) wasn't set, INCLUDES filter removed These warnings are gone when I add +Includes to my options but I don't want. I want to have the Includes filter removed but without having warning errors. If there's something unclear, feel free to ask. Thanks

This site serves PDFs which has quick web view and if I access a pdf directly from the IIS server the PDFs starts to display immediately but if I go through the proxy I have to wait until the entire pdf downloads before I can view it.     I have Options set to none for my webroot directory. I also have a symmlink /var/coderoot - /var/webroot/coderoot In the php script I can do include("/var/coderoot/file"); and it works fine. Regardless of the option (yes I save and restart apache.) Does follow symlinks only apply to symlinks used in a certain way? Is there a performance loss using the include with a symmlink?

    Hi, I'm looking for the rewrite rule for mod_rewrite in Apache so that when asking for a specific subdirectory, it and all its contents gets redirected to another location. I currently have the following: RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/SUBDIRECTORY(/.*)? /another/location But this only manages to redirect /SUBDIRECTORY requests to the desired location, while all others (like (/SUBDIRECTORY/ , /SUBDIRECTORY/anything/else ) gets me an error telling me that the redirection is not valid... any ideas?     In development, I'd like to have changes to my application propagate immediately. "MaxRequestsPerChild 1" restarts each process after a request, but if there are multiple server processes, changes still don't propagate until each process restarts. I've tried several different directives to limit the number of server processes to 1: StartServers 1 MinSpareThreads 1 MaxSpareThreads 1 ThreadLimit 1 ThreadsPerChild 1 MaxClients 1 MaxRequestsPerChild 1 Apache still starts with multiple (3) apache2 processes. I'm using the mpm_worker module

    I've got a GET method that looks like the following: GetMethod method = new GetMethod("http://host/path/?key=[\"item\",\"item\"]"); Such a path works just fine when typed directly into a browser, but the above line when run causes an IllegalArgumentException : Invalid URI. I've looked at using the URIUtils class, but without success. Is there a way to automatically encode this (or to add a query string onto the URL without causing HttpClient to barf?).
