• Good Administration Center Templates

    - by Alec Smart
    Hello, This may not be a programming question per se. But I am wondering what template do you use for your sites/webapps admin centers. Am looking primarily at free templates that give a basic structure. I know I can build my own, but I haven't had too much success in something that works for all my webapps/sites. Wondering if there is something nice and comprehensive available. Thank you for your time.

  • Inscribe and center an image within a frame

    - by Brennan Roberts
    Given a div of arbitrary aspect ratio, what's the best way to place and style an image (also with an arbitrary aspect ratio) inside such that: It is both inscribed and centered Its dimensions and position are set using relative values so that the image will remain inscribed and centered automatically when the frame is uniformly scaled (javascript should only be required when the image is initially inserted, or if the frame's aspect ratio changes) Extra markup is minimized Here's the result we want: Here's a fiddle template, which is just: Markup Should pillarbox

Should letterbox

CSS .frame { width: 200px; height: 200px; border: 2px solid black; margin: 10px 0px 100px 0; }

  • maintain dialog center with dynamic content

    - by mcgrailm
    I would have a dialog with the following $("#statusbox").dialog({ autoOpen: false, bgiframe: true, modal: true, width: 'auto', height:'auto', title:"Check Order Status", buttons: { Find: function() { get_status(); }, Close: function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } } }); and when the user hits the find button it runs ajax and returns orders to the dialog and it get dynamically re-sized but it only extends the box down. Is there way to make the box extend up and down so that the dialog remains centered ? also if there was enough content then it could potentially go beyond the bounds of the page so I would think I could use a max height to prevent that but what do I do if they re-size the window ? thanks for any help

  • How to align 3 divs (left/center/right) inside another div?

    - by serg555
    I want to have 3 divs aligned inside a container div, something like this: [[LEFT] [CENTER] [RIGHT]] Container div is 100% wide (no set width), and center div should remain in center after resizing the container. So I set: #container{width:100%;} #left{float:left;width:100px;} #right{float:right;width:100px;} #center{margin:0 auto;width:100px;} But it becomes: [[LEFT] [CENTER] ] [RIGHT] Any tips?

  • TextView would not horizontally center

    - by theGreenCabbage
    My layout is the following: <TextView android:id="@+id/display_city" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:layout_above="@+id/pollenType" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_below="@+id/get_pollen_index" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:layout_centerVertical="true" android:layout_marginTop="51dp" android:textSize="40sp" /> As you can tell, Philadelphia, PA is left-aligned. No matter what I change, whether it's centering horizontal and vertical to true, it stays left-aligned. I have tried changing the layout via the XML and graphical user interface. In the graphical user interface, it indeed is "centered", but it remains non-centered. My layout positions are consistent across all my textviews, so I am unsure as to why this particular TextView is not centered.

  • Vertically center CSS techniques don't work in Chrome

    - by at.
    I've gone through stackoverflow questions and a whole bunch of articles on vertically centering text like the following: http://blog.themeforest.net/tutorials/vertical-centering-with-css/ None of the techniques seem to work with the latest version of Chrome. Is that just the nature of Chrome? My text just always appears at the top. It seems that whenever I use 50% or 100% as values for CSS's height or top, nothing happens. I just need a single line of text vertically centered. line-height isn't helpful because I want it centered in the middle of the browser window... I don't know how tall the browser window is going to be. UPDATE: The problem is apparently Foundation 4. Once I delete the following everything works as expected:
Any idea on how to make it work with Foundation 4?

  • center menu within the 960 grid

    - by Kyle Monti
    I have been working on 960 grid,(http://960.gs/) and I used an old style menu i've used in the past from a few years ago and for some reason with the 960 grid, the menu is floating left and I want it centered. ul#menu { width:940px; height:61px; background: url(../images/menu_bg.png) no-repeat; list-style:none; padding-top:0; padding-left:0; margin: 0; } ul#menu li { float:left; } ul#menu li a { background: url(../images/menu_splice_color.png) no-repeat scroll top left; display:block; height:61px; position:relative; } ul#menu li a.shel { width:135px; } ul#menu li a.golf { width:84px; background-position:-135px 0px; } ul#menu li a.pro { width:119px; background-position:-219px 0px; } ul#menu li a.event { width:94px; background-position:-338px 0px; } ul#menu li a.member { width:148px; background-position:-432px 0px; } ul#menu li a.bistro { width:91px; background-position:-580px 0px; } ul#menu li a.contact { width:115px; background-position:-671px 0px; } ul#menu li a span { background: url(../images/menu_splice_color.png) no-repeat scroll bottom left; display:block; position:absolute; top:0; left:0px; height:100%; width:100%; z-index:100; } ul#menu li a.shel span { background-position:0px -61px; } ul#menu li a.golf span { background-position:-135px -61px; } ul#menu li a.pro span { background-position:-219px -61px; } ul#menu li a.events span { background-position:-338px -61px; } ul#menu li a.member span { background-position:-432px -61px; } ul#menu li a.bistro span { background-position:-580px -61px; } ul#menu li a.contact span { background-position:-672px -61px; } and my generic html markup is

And I use jquery animations to roll over the images. $(function() { $("ul#menu span").css("opacity","0"); $("ul#menu span").hover(function () { $(this).stop().animate({ opacity: 1 }, "slow"); }, function () { $(this).stop().animate({ opacity: 0 }, "slow"); }); });

  • Center container horizontally and vertically

    - by Joey
    Looking over other question on this site, I used a method of setting all the positions to 0 with auto margins, but this has some unwanted behavior. If you resize the window vertically, the top of the container moves off of the top of the page. It needs to stop when it hits the top. JSFIDDLE: http://jsfiddle.net/jd67ca5y/ HTML:

This is the container.

If you resize the JSFiddle window horizontally, you will see that the left edge of the box doesn't move past the left edge of the window. This is correct behaviour.

Now if you move the window vertically, the top of this container will disappear off of the top of the window. This is wrong.

CSS: #container { margin:auto; height:300px; width:300px; top:0; bottom:0; left:0; right:0; position:absolute; border:1px solid; padding:10px; }

  • How do I change the software center icon in the launcher?

    - by Andreas
    I'm not a big fan of the Software Center icon (apparently I'm not the only one: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/09/software-centre-icon-proposal). Is there a way change it? The answers to this related question doesn't make it clear whether there is: How to change the Dash icon in the Unity Launcher? As far as I can see the Software Center icon isn't in nautilus /usr/share/unity/5/ so where could it be?

    - by Adam

The other 2 DIV's need to take up all the other available space. If I zoom in and out of the page the red and yellow DIV's need to expand with the page while the middle green one remains centered. I've tried DIV solutions and Table solutions and I can't get it to fit. HTML

any advice would be appreciated. thx ** Update: http://jsfiddle.net/scxAq/ working on this... with limited success...

  • Keep text on left and middle of the div, not center

    - by Jean
    Hello, I want to be able to keep a text on the left, but in the middle of a div.
text goes here
and my CSS for the same sel{ text-align:left; vertical-align:middle; } The characters and lines of the text may vary. I am more focussed on the text with a single line that sits on the top. I do not want to use position:absolute/relative. Appreciate all help. Thanks Jean
