• ASP.NET MVC partial view and form action name

- by Dmitriy Shvadskiy
How do I create a partial view that has a form with assigned id? I got as far as: using (Html.BeginForm(?action?,"Candidate",FormMethod.Post,new {id="blah"})) Partial view is used for both Create and Edit so first parameter ?action? will be different. I can't figure out what value of ?action? supposed to be

• VB.NET FileSystemWatcher Multiple Change Events

- by John
Hi. I have the following code: Imports System.IO Public Class Blah Public Sub New() InitializeComponent() Dim watcher As New FileSystemWatcher("C:\") watcher.EnableRaisingEvents = True AddHandler watcher.Changed, AddressOf watcher_Changed End Sub Private Sub watcher_Changed(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As FileSystemEventArgs) MsgBox(e.FullPath) End Sub End Class When I run it and save changes to a file on my C drive, the code works great, except it executes the watcher_Changed() method four times. Any idea why? The changeType is "4" every time. Thanks.

• Solr OR query for different combination of facets

- by Ritesh M Nayak
I have a sample Solr schema as follows isPublic = boolean source = facebook| twitter | wordpress I want to write a query which returns all documents from the index which matches either the isPublic = true or isPublic is false and source= facebook. Something like this solrUrl/?q=blah&fq=(isPublic:true OR (isPublic:false AND source:facebook)) Is such a thing possible or should I search the index two times with each of these conditions and then combine + de-duplicate the results?

• Hibernate/Spring: getHibernateTemplate().save(...) Freezes/Hangs

- by ashes999
I'm using Hibernate and Spring with the DAO pattern (all Hibernate dependencies in a *DAO.java class). I have nine unit tests (JUnit) which create some business objects, save them, and perform operations on them; the objects are in a hash (so I'm reusing the same objects all the time). My JUnit setup method calls my DAO.deleteAllObjects() method which calls getSession().createSQLQuery("DELETE FROM <tablename>").executeUpdate() for my business object table (just one). One of my unit tests (#8/9) freezes. I presumed it was a database deadlock, because the Hibernate log file shows my delete statement last. However, debugging showed that it's simply HibernateTemplate.save(someObject) that's freezing. (Eclipse shows that it's freezing on HibernateTemplate.save(Object), line 694.) Also interesting to note is that running this test by itself (not in the suite of 9 tests) doesn't cause any problems. How on earth do I troubleshoot and fix this? Also, I'm using @Entity annotations, if that matters. Edit: I removed reuse of my business objects (use unique objects in every method) -- didn't make a difference (still freezes). Edit: This started trickling into other tests, too (can't run more than one test class without getting something freezing) Transaction configuration: <bean id="txManager" class="org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.DataSourceTransactionManager"> <property name="dataSource" ref="dataSource" /> </bean> <tx:advice id="txAdvice" transaction-manager="txManager"> <!-- the transactional semantics... --> <tx:attributes> <!-- all methods starting with 'get' are read-only --> <tx:method name="get*" read-only="true" /> <tx:method name="find*" read-only="true" /> <!-- other methods use the default transaction settings (see below) --> <tx:method name="*" /> </tx:attributes> </tx:advice> <!-- my bean which is exhibiting the hanging behavior --> <aop:config> <aop:pointcut id="beanNameHere" expression="execution(* com.blah.blah.IMyDAO.*(..))" /> <aop:advisor advice-ref="txAdvice" pointcut-ref="beanNameHere" /> </aop:config>

• Spring MVC: easiest way to see incoming requests

- by flybywire
I am debugging a Spring MVC (3.0) app, deployed on tomcat. I want to see in my console or log files all the incoming requests. Including 404s, both generated by my app or by spring because it didn't find an appropriate controller. I'd like to see something like this: GET /index.html GET /img/logo.png GET /js/a.js GET /style/b.css POST /ajax/dothis?blah=yes POST /ajax/dothat?foo=np GET /nextpage.html ... What is the easiest way to see that.

• js function to get filename from url

- by Blankman
Hi, I have a url like http://www.example.com/blah/th.html I need a javascript function to give me the 'th' value from that. All my urls have the same format (2 letter filenames, with .html extension). I want it to be a safe function, so if someone passes in an empty url it doesn't break. I know how to check for length, but I should be checking for null to right?

• iphone shake error

- by aaa
Right now I have this-
- (void)motionEnded:(UIEventSubtype)motion withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { if (event.type == UIEventSubtypeMotionShake) { int text = rand() % 12; switch (text) { case 0: textview.text = @"blah." ; break;
For some reason, the text has to be selected for it to work. If you just shake it, nothing will happen.

• jquery, javascript and callback timing

- by Blankman
var blah = Some.Thing(data, function(a,b) { // code here }); Some.Thing = function(data, callback) { var a = Other.Thing(data, function() { }); }; My question is, will the part that says //code here fire ONLY after everything else and their callbacks fire? The //code here part seems to fire, and there seems to be some timing issue.

• plain old system.out question

- by mac
I was looking at someone's code and saw that he repeatedly declared PrintStream out = System.out; and later called out.println("blah"); I actually thought this was kind of neat. Is this a common practice? Was he just being fancy?

• How can I check for unused import in many Python files?

- by Thierry Lam
I remember when I was developing in C++ or Java, the compiler usually complains for unused methods, functions or imports. In my Django project, I have a bunch of Python files which have gone through a number of iterations. Some of those files have a few lines of import statement at the top of the page and some of those imports are not used anymore. Is there a way to locate those unused imports besides eyeballing each one of them in each file? All my imports are explicit, I don't usually write from blah import *

• Make qwidget in new window in PyQt4

- by matt
I'm trying to make a class that extends qwidget, that pops up a new window, I must be missing something fundamental, class NewQuery(QtGui.QWidget): def __init__(self, parent): QtGui.QMainWindow.__init__(self,parent) self.setWindowTitle('Add New Query') grid = QtGui.QGridLayout() label = QtGui.QLabel('blah') grid.addWidget(label,0,0) self.setLayout(grid) self.resize(300,200) when a new instance of this is made in main window's class, and show() called, the content is overlaid on the main window, how can I make it display in a new window?

• How to access a superclass method from a nested class?

- by m01
I hope this code explains the problem: class Foo { void a() { / *stuff */ } } class Bar extends Foo { void a() { throw new Exception("This is not allowed for Bar"); } class Baz { void blah() { // how to access Foo.a from here? } } } I know that I may be doing something wrong, because inheritance perhaps shouldn't be used in such way. But it's the easiest way in my situation. And, beside that, I'm just curious. Is it possible?

• Change File ext with GreaseMonkey?

- by acidzombie24
One of the sites i visit has an annoying habit of naming all their files showimage.php. When i save the image or file it saves as a .php so i cannot open the file. The worse part is, there is a &ext=zip&more=blah in the url. Is it possible to use greasemonkey to rename the file ext so it isnt php? (maybe injecting a content disposition header?)
