• Variable for the field name of mysql row result

  I'm retrieving a row with php from mysql and it has fields like: name_en, name_es, name_de... I want to retrieve the right field base on my $lang variable (en, es, de...). If the $lang variable is 'es', I'd need to get $row['name_es']. I've tried this (based on this thread), but it's not working: $name = $row->{'name_'.$lang}; Any idea how can I use a variable as the name of the field of a row? Thanks in advance for your help!

• JavaFX FXML communication between Application and Controller classes

  I am trying to get and destroy an external process I've created via ProcessBuilder in my FXML application close, but it's not working. This is based on the helpful advice Sergey Grinev gave me here. I have tried running with/without the "// myController.setApp(this);" and with "// super.stop();" at top of subclass and at bottom (see commented out/in for that line in MyApp), but no combination works. This probably isn't related to FXML or JavaFX, though I imagine this is a common pattern for developing apps on JavaFX. I suppose I'm asking for a Java best practice for closing dependent processes in a UI-based app like this one (in this case: FXML / JavaFX based), where there is a controller class and an application class. Can you explain what I'm doing wrong? Or better: advise what I should be doing instead? Thanks. • Integrate openid4java to GWT Project

  Hi, I created an GWT project in eclipse. Now I tried to implement openId with using the openid4java library. I imported the .jar files via properties--java build path: openid4java-0.9.5.jar lib/*.jar In addition I copied the .jar files into the war/WEB-INF/lib directory.   From within the setup_app function (websetup.py) of a pylons i18n application, which is making use of a db, I was trying to initiate multilingual content to be inserted into the db. • sqlite no such table

  can anyone please help. I've seen many people with the same problem and looked at all suggestions but still cannot get this to work. I have tried to unistall the application and install again, I have tried to change the version number and start again. I've debugged the code and it does go into the onCreate function, but when I go to make a select query it says the users table does not exist. Any help would greatly be appreciated. • Hibernate Lazy init exception in spring scheduled job

  I have a spring scheduled job (@Scheduled) that sends emails from my system according to a list of recipients in the DB. This method is annotated with the @Scheduled annotation and it invokes a method from another interface, the method in the interface is annotated with the @Transactional annotation. Now, when i invoke the scheduled method manually, it works perfectly. But when the method is invoked by spring scheduler i get the LazyInitFailed exception in the method implementing the said interface. I don't found anything in the doc to manage forms by spring and the attribute "type" is mandatory for form in struts-config. Someone can help me please ?

• NullPointerException when trying to run an applet of multiple classes

  I'm trying to display an applet in an html page. I've had success doing this in the past, but now that I have more than one class in the applet, I seem to get an error every time I try to load the applet in an html page. For a bit, I was writing the html page by hand, but then I realized the applet viewer in netbeans (the IDE I'm coding in) created an html page for you, which is the same as the one I was coding. The application runs error-free when in the applet viewer, but the following message is displayed when I try to run it in the html page: java.lang.NullPointerException at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.findAppletJDKLevel(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.createApplet(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException I tested another small, one class applet and it ran fine in the html page under the same conditions.   I obtained an evaluation license for j2ssh maverick, downloaded the library and included the j2me jar into my project. But i get the following error when i try to run/build the project (in netbeans, using WTK 3.0) Error preverifying class com.maverick.events.J2SSHEventMessages VERIFIER ERROR com/maverick/events/J2SSHEventMessages.class$(Ljava/lang/String;)Ljava/lang/Class;: Cannot find class java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError I get the same error when i use eclipse (error in preverifying stage). Any pointers ? There are more than one NoClassDefFoundErrors in the preverifying stage. Am i using the wrong .jar file ?

  I am trying to use notepad++ as my all-in-one tool edit, run, compile etc. I have jre installed, i have setup my path variable to .../bin directory. I think the problem here is about versions, some version of java may be old or too new. how do i fix it? should i install jdk , and setup my path variable to JDK instead of jre? difference between PATH variable in jre or jdk?

  Hi, everyone, I've started working yesterday on the Euler Project in Clojure and I have a problem with one of my solutions I cannot figure out. I have this function: (defn find-max-palindrom-in-range [beg end] (reduce max (loop [n beg result []] (if (>= n end) result (recur (inc n) (concat result (filter #(is-palindrom? %) (map #(* n %) (range beg end))))))))) I try to run it like this: (find-max-palindrom-in-range 100 1000) and I get this exception: java.lang.Integer cannot be cast to clojure.lang.IFn [Thrown class java.lang.ClassCastException] which I presume means that at some place I'm trying to evaluate an Integer as a function. I however cannot find this place and what puzzles me more is that everything works if I simply evaluate it like this: (reduce max (loop [n 100 result []] (if (>= n 1000) result (recur (inc n) (concat result (filter #(is-palindrom? %) (map #(* n %) (range 100 1000)))))))) (I've just stripped down the function definition and replaced the parameters with constants) Thanks in advance for your help and sorry that I probably bother you with idiotic mistake on my part. • How to enable i18n from within setup_app in websetup.py ? (formatted resend)

  From within the setup_app function (websetup.py) of a pylons i18n application, which is making use of a db, I was trying to initiate multilingual content to be inserted into the db. To do so the idea was something like: #necessary imports here def setup_app(command, conf, vars): .... for lang in langs: set_lang(lang) content=model.Content() content.content=_('content') Session.add(content) Session.commit() Unfortunately it seems that it doesn't work. the set_lang code line is firing an exception as follows: File ".. i18n/translation.py", line 179, in set_lang translator = _get_translator(lang, **kwargs) File ".. i18n/translation.py", line 160, in _get_translator localedir = os.path.join(rootdir, 'i18n') File ".. /posixpath.py", line 67, in join elif path == '' or path.endswith('/'): AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'endswith' Actually I'm even not sure it could be possible launching i18n mechanisms from within this setup_app function without an active request object. Anyone has tried some trick on a similar story ?

• Accommodating null values in a list?

  Hi, I'm new to Java and Groovy and am running into trouble with the following Groovy script. I created this whittled down version of a larger script to facilitate debugging. The script is iterating through a list trying to calc a running total of the values of all objects in the list. Some or all of these objects' values may be null. Script import org.apache.commons.lang.math.NumberUtils class Field { def name def value } def fields = [ new Field(name:'Annuities %', value:75), new Field(name:'Other %', value:null), ] //def totalFunding = fields.inject(0) {int total, Field myField - // total + NumberUtils.toInt(myField.value,0) as Integer def totalFunding = fields.inject(0) {int total, Field myField - total + myField?.value as Integer } It gets this error: Exception thrown: java.lang.NullPointerException java.lang.NullPointerException at Script3$_run_closure1.doCall(Script3:15) at Script3.run(Script3:14) What is the correct way to accomodate null values?
