The specs for the Laptop are : Intel Core i7-4700MQ Processor (17.3") UltraSharp FHD(1920x1080) 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz DDR3L AMD FirePro M6100 w/2GB GDDR5 2.5 inch 500GB Solid State Hybrid Drive Is it possible to do it & if yes, what other hardware, software do I need besides monitors ?     What happens if I pierce a TFT monitor screen with something sharp (say a nail)? Will only the pierced region malfunction or the whole monitor screen? There's an opinion that in this case the entire screen will "flow out" (more specifically - "liquid crystals will flow out") and stop working completely. Is that truth or an urban legend?

    Sorry for the newbie question, but I have the following query that groups parking spaces by their garage, but I can't figure out how to iterate the data in the view. I guess I should strongly type the view but am a newbie and having lots of problems figuring this out. Any help would be appreciated.   • Element Positioning affected by Browser Screen Resolution Change

    Hello, newbie developer here. There's this small problem I always encounter. Every time I try to change browser resolution (or what do you call the event when you scroll the mouse wheel while pressing ctrl), some elements (Mostly form elements) get to be shifted down or somewhere else, which does not conform with the original positioning. Im not sure if the problem is with the CSS or the markup itself and Im not really sure if this is much of a problem. Should I ignore it? (It doesn't feel very comfortable though, thinking that it might become problematic in the near future) Otherwise, any solution on how to avoid this? Simple explanations are very much appreciated, Thanks. (Perhaps the used term newbie should be replaced with noob?. Haha.)

  • Does Google provide any Android tutorials that teach how to implement a Service?

    I apologize in advance for the "newbie" nature of this question. Here is my predicament: I'm brand new to android and developing in general. I'm using android's SDK with eclipse Galileo. I've followed several tutorials to create different layouts. I've even learned recently how to use radio buttons and verify which ones were selected. Now I need to create a service that downloads and updates an xml file within the application. I've tried to locate a simple tutorial for services on Google's developer site but so far, so bad. If they exist could somebody point me in the right direction? On the other hand, I've been told Google's tutorials are a little out dated. Is that true? If so, are there any other tutorials that would hand-hold (and possibly over-explain) how to use a service to a true newbie for free (like google)? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am very much a newbie to fxcop and code analysis in general. I am currently researching it and have some questions following this: Is it recommended to use the rules that come with fxcop? Should it be included as a build task during builds? What is the value from it? Are there guidelines to what rules to abide by or is it best to go with the default? Is it correct to run the analysis as a post build event? I am a newbie to fxcop and would like some feedback. I am as it is integrating stylecop in to my build.

  • Intel NUC Video Blur

    I recently purchased the D34010WYKH NUC and I figured this would be a great time to make the jump to a Linux based system. I'm running Ubuntu 14.04, and I'm having an issue with video rendering that is driving me mad. Essentially videos (all 1080p mkv files) appear to be slowly blurring, and its most noticeable when the camera remains on a scene for a long period of time. Then all of a sudden the video will correct the blur and the image will be sharp, only to begin happening again followed by more sudden and noticeable corrections. I have seen the exact same issue in both VLC and XBMC and across several different videos. I have installed the latest Intel graphics drivers, and searched the web but to be honest I'm not sure how to accurately describe this problem. I'm also quite new to the OS, so my experience tinkering is limited. Has anyone experienced this type of issue before? Can it be resolved?

  • lubuntu - Sound card detected but no sound

    I installed Lubuntu 12.10 on my old laptop (Sharp Mebius PC-MR80J), but sound does not work. Here are things I tried. aplay -l does not output anything. When I run alsamixer, I see only one bar that says "Beep". I installed pavucontrol, pulseaudio, pulseaudio-utils and libgtk-3-0 and checked output devices, but I only see "Dummy ouput" and there is no hardware output devices. cat /proc/asound/cards returns the following. 0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel HDA Intel at 0xfeb38000 irq 40 cat /proc/asound/devices outputs the following. 1: : sequencer 2: [ 0- 1]: hardware dependent 3: [ 0- 0]: hardware dependent 4: [ 0] : control 33: : timer The laptop was running Windows XP before and sound (both input and outpu) was working. What can I do now?

  • Local Entities with NHibernate

    You may know that Entity Framework Code First has a nice property called Local which lets you iterate through all the entities loaded by the current context (first level cache). This comes handy at times, so I decided to check if it would be difficult to have it on NHibernate. It turned out it is not, so here it is!   • Printer "ripping" forever (network printer)

    Since I installed Ubuntu 11.10, printing is a disaster. I did not have the problem with Lucid Lynx (Ubuntu 10.04), but maybe it just comes from the fact that someone else had installed it for me, and possibly it configured better. When I print a pdf, even 2 pages, my printer (SHARP MX 2300N) stays in rippen for hours. "Rippen" is a German word, not really sure how to translate. Google translate says, The English equivalent is "Rib". And eventually, sometimes, the pages finally get printed. But in between my whole floor is very angry because they also need the printer. Additionally, I don't always have the whole day for waiting for my pages. I remember that when printing I used to be asked if I wanted to reduce transparency effects, which does not seem to happen anymore after I installed Ubuntu 11.10. Is there any connection? Not sure, because I don't think it was for pdf files.
