  • Calling DLL functions from VB6.

    I've got a Windows DLL that I wrote, written in C/C++ (all exported functions are 'C'). The DLL works fine for me in VC++. I've given the DLL to another company who do all their development in VB. They seem to be having a problem linking to the functions. I haven't used VB in ten years and I don't even have it installed. What could be the problem? I've declared all my public functions as follows: define MYDCC_API __declspec(dllexport) MYDCCL_API unsigned long MYDCC_GetVer( void); . . . Any ideas? Finally got back to this today and have it working.     How to call a method using getattr? I want to create a metaclass, which can call non-existing methods of some other class that start with the word 'oposite_'.     I'd like to call an action with a link_to button without being redirected to another page(I don't want ajax). For you to have an idea, I'm trying to accomplish a sort "link button" in a search page. So, when the link is clicked, the page should be refreshed showing the list ordered as I tell it in the action. If I do the following in my view, it will ask me for a template called as the action, and I don't want it: <%= link_to 'M&Aacute;S RELEVANTES', search_filter_relevance_path %> My routes file looks like this: map.search_filter_relevance "/anuncios/buscar", :controller => 'announcements', :action => 'search_filter_relevance' And my controller looks like this(I haven't developed the functionality yet): def search_filter_relevance end Any help on this will be appreciated.

  • Jelly bean not calling onPrepareOptionsMenu() when opening the menu for the first time

    I'm overriding onPrepareOptionsMenu to hide and show menu items. When testing it with the API level 16 emulator; onPrepareOptionsMenu is not called when opening the menu for the first time. But when i reopen the menu it works. The problem is only with the first usage. You can simple test it with this; @Override public void onPrepareOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { Toast.makeText(this.getActivity(), "pre", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); super.onPrepareOptionsMenu(menu); } Any ideas?

I want to print a list of tuples with all the anagrams in it. this is what i have done so far def anagrams_finder(words_num): anagrams = [] f = open("words.txt") a = list(f) list1 = ([s.replace('\n', '') for s in a]) list2 = ([i.lower() for i in list1]) list3 = list2[0:words_num] #number of words from text that need to be checked. for i in list3: .... I tried using for loops, while loops, appand.... but nothing seems to work. how can I use the first function in order to help me with the second? Please help...

    Hello, I have a case where I want to use the results of a prepared statement more than once in a nested loop. The outer loop processes the results of another query, and the inner loop is the results of the prepared statement query. So the code would be something like this (just "pseudoish" to demonstrate the concept): // not showing the outer query, it is just a basic SELECT, not prepared statement // we'll call it $outer_query $obj_array = array(); // going to save objects in this $ids = array(18,19,20); // just example id numbers $query = "SELECT field1, field2 FROM table1 WHERE id=?"; $stmt = $db->prepare($query); foreach ($ids as $id) { $stmt->bind_param("i", $id); $stmt->execute(); $stmt->bind_result($var1, $var2); $stmt->store_result(); // I think I need this for data_seek while ($q1 = $outer_query->fetch_object()) { while ($stmt->fetch()) { if ($q1->field1 == $var1) { // looking for a match $obj = new stdClass(); $obj->var1 = $var1; $obj->var2 = $var2; $obj_array[] = $obj; $stmt->data_seek(0); // reset for outer loop break; // found match, so leave inner } } } } The problem I seem to be experiencing is that the values are not getting bound in the variables as I would expect after the first time I use fetch in the inner loop. Specifically, in one example I ran with 3 ids for the foreach, the first id was processed correctly, the second was processed incorrectly (matches were not found in the inner loop even though they existed), and then the third was processed correctly. Is there something wrong with the prepared statment function calls in the sequence I am doing above, or is this an invalid way to use the results of the prepared statement? Thanks.

  • asp.net vb user control raising an event on the calling page

    i'm trying to learn about user controls. I created a user control that has a textbox and a button. What i'd like to be able to do is when i click the button in the user control, populate a label in the aspx page. I understand that i could just have a button on the page that uses some properties on the user control to get that information.. but i'd like to know how to do it with the button the user control.. the reason for this is the button is just an example.. a learning tool. if i can get this working, i'd likely be putting thing in the user control that might require this kind of passing information. Anyway.. i've found some c# examples that i tried to get working as vb.. but once started getting into the delegates and events.. well.. it made me turn to this post. anyway.. hopefully someone can lend a hand.

  • JSF: Showing/Calling a dialog programatically

    has anybody an idea to show/call a dialog programatically and add this to stage(actual browser window) ?! I am running in circles and cannot find a solution :/ More background what I want to do: I want to trigger a database update every 2 hours. This I have done with a TimerTask... This works fine for me, the Timertask gets all the data I want from the database... Before this TimerTask is triggered I want to "lock" the screen for some seconds that no user(session scoped) can access the database(this I also know how this will work) ... My problem is that I don't know/ cannot find a way/ i am to stupid to call a dialog programatically ... Any tips, hints would be very cool :) Thanks a lot !   • php class scope when calling a non-method function not accessing all class members

    So I'm using a stand alone function from within a class that that uses the class it's being called from. Here's the function function catalogProductLink($product_id,$product_name,$categories=true) { //This is the class that the function is called from global $STATE; if ($categories) { //The $STATE->category_id is the property I want to access, which I can't if (is_array($STATE->category_id)) { foreach($STATE->category_id as $cat_id) { if ($cat_id == 0) continue; $str .= "c$cat_id/"; } } } $str .= catalogUrlKeywords($product_name).'-p'.$product_id.'.html'; return $str; } And here's the function call, which is being made from within the $STATE class. $redirect = catalogProductLink($this->product_id, $tempProd->product_name, true, false); The object that I need access to is the $STATE object that has been declared global. Prior to this function call there are lots of public properties populated, but when I look at the $STATE object within the function scope it loses all the properties but one, product_id. The property that matters for this function is the category_id property, which is an array of category id's. I'm wondering why I don't have access to all the public properties of the $STATE object and how I can get access to them.

    AS3 documentation says that Strings in AS3 are in UTF-16 format. There is a textbox on a Flash Clip where user can type some data. When a button is clicked, I want this data to be sent to a php script. I have everything set up, but it seems that the PHP script gets the data in UTF-16 format. The data in the database (which is utf-8) shows some unrecognizable characters (where special characters are used), meaning that the data has not been sent in a correct encoding. var variables:URLVariables=new URLVariables; var varSend:URLRequest=new URLRequest("http://website.com/systematic/accept.php"); varSend.method=URLRequestMethod.POST; varSend.data=variables; var varLoader:URLLoader=new URLLoader; varLoader.dataFormat=URLLoaderDataFormat.VARIABLES; varLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, completeHandler); When submit button is clicked, the following handler gets executed. function sendData(event:MouseEvent) : void { // i guess here is the problem (tbName.text is UTF-16) variables.name = tbName.text; varLoader.load(varSend); } Is there any way to send the data so that PHP script gets the data in UTF-8 format? Here's a simplified analog to my setup: --In myUnmanagedObject.h in DLL: class myUnmanagedObject { public: virtual void myMethod(){} } --In MyControl.h in Assembly #1: #pragma make_public(myUnmanagedObject) [event_source(managed)] public ref class MyControl : public System::Windows::Forms::UserControl { public: myUnmanagedObject* GetMyUnmanagedObject(); } --in C# in Assembly #2: unsafe { MyControl temp = new MyControl(); myUnmanagedObject* obj = temp.GetMyUnmanagedObject(); obj-myMethod(); } I get a compile error saying that myUnmanagedObject does not contain a definition for myMethod. Assembly #2 references Assembly #1. Assembly #1 references DLL. If I compile the DLL with /clr and reference it directly from Assembly #2, it makes no difference. How, from C#, do I execute myMethod ?

    I am relatively new to implementing JQuery throughout an entire system, and I am enjoying the opportunity. I have come across one issue I would love to find the correct resolve for. Here is a simple case example of what I want to do: I have a button on a page, and on the click event I want to call a jquery function I have defined. Here is the code I have used to define my method (Page.js): (function($) { $.fn.MessageBox = function(msg) { alert(msg); }; }); And here is my HTML page: <HTML> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="C:\Sandpit\jQueryTest\jquery-1.3.2.js"></script> <script language="javascript" src="Page.js"></script> </head> <body> <div class="Title">Welcome!</div> <input type="button" value="ahaha" onclick="$().MessageBox('msg');" /> </body> </HTML> (The above code displays the button, but clicking does nothing.) I am aware I could add the click event in the document ready event, however it seems more maintainable to put events in the HTML element instead. However I have not found a way to do this. Is there a way to call a jquery function on a button element (or any input element)? Or is there a better way to do this? Thanks

The web service is secured (using Windows authentication). The account that the windows service runs under does have the rights to call the web service but I can't figure out how to get those credentials and send them off to the web service. The web service is WCF and is hosted on the same machine (in IIS) as the windows service.

Given the following route: {tenant}/{controller}/{action} My base controller retrieves and stores the correct Tenant based on the {tenant} URL parameter. Using Tenant, a repository with an ITenantContext can be constructed to retrieve only data that is relevant to that tenant.   • Objetive C - Calling Methods in objects.

    I'm new to Objective C, and I seem to be struggling with accessing a method of an object I created. I'm checking out the documentation , but I'm not entirely sure tha tthis is a job for a delegate. For example I have an object (1) that creates another object (2). I can access a method of the object (2) after I create it, but I can't access it from a method of object (1). I get a error that the object was not defined in this scope. If anyone can help I greatly appreciate it. I just need a nudge in the right direction so that I can at least get a grasp on how to think about the interaction between the objects.
