  • What exactly can concrete domains be used to describe?

    - by Exander
I have read the formal definition of a "concrete domain", but I still don't quite get it. Could someone explain it to me in simpler terms, preferably with some examples? The definition is available in Reasoning in Description Logics with a Concrete Domain in the Framework of Resolution by Ullrich Hustadt, Boris Motik, Ulrike Sattler. Page 1, Definition 1.

  • How to deploy and configure many copies of an application to multiple domains on the same server

    - by Oren
We are about to begin work on an application that will eventually be deployed many times on one server. I am hoping to build a nice interface so that one of my coworkers can easily create new deployments of this application. The idea is to create a wizard with a series of options that will configure basic properties of each particular copy of the app such as color scheme, domain name, etc. Each copy of the application may be further tweaked independently down the line. I would like to know what is the best way to manage the automatic creation of users, the updating of domain name info and the deploying of copies of an application, with the ability to maintain certain discrepancies between each of these copies (such as installed plugins, different CSS) as we update the application in the future. What I'm asking is extremely similar to the way StackExchange 1.0 functioned, where a user could configure several options and a customized version of the StackExchange would soon be up and running. How is this accomplished?

  • NHibernate. Distinct parent child fetching

    - by Andrew Kalashnikov
    Hello. I've got common NH mapping; <class name="Order, SummaryOrder.Core" table='order'> <id name="Id" unsaved-value="0" type="int"> <column name="id" not-null="true"/> <generator class="native"/> </id> <many-to-one name="Client" class="SummaryOrderClient, SummaryOrder.Core" column="summary_order_client_id" cascade="none"/> <many-to-one name="Provider" class="SummaryOrderClient, SummaryOrder.Core" column="summary_order_provider_id" cascade="none"/> <set name="Items" cascade="all"> <key column="order_id"/> <one-to-many class="OrderItem, Clients.Core" /> </set> </class> Want get list by this criteria ICriteria criteria = NHibernateStateLessSession.CreateCriteria(typeof(SummaryOrder.Core.Domains.Order)); ; criteria.Add(Restrictions.Or (Restrictions.Eq(String.Format("{0}.Id", SummaryOrder.Core.Domains.Order.Properties.Client), idClient), Restrictions.Eq(String.Format("{0}.Id", SummaryOrder.Core.Domains.Order.Properties.Provider), idClient))). SetResultTransformer(new DistinctRootEntityResultTransformer()). SetFetchMode(SummaryOrder.Core.Domains.Order.Properties.Items, FetchMode.Join); return criteria.List<SummaryOrder.Core.Domains.Order>() as List<SummaryOrder.Core.Domains.Order> But I've got duplicates.. When I execute One restriction (without OR) I got distinct collection of orders, but Restriction OR brakes my query. I wanna get distinct(at client yet) collection of orders. What's wrong. Please HELP!

  • Dynamic mass hosting using mod_wsgi

    - by Virgil Balibanu
Hi, I am trying to configure an apache server using mod_wsgi for dynamic mass hosting. Each user will have it's own instance of a python application located in /mnt/data/www/domains/[user_name] and there will be a vhost.map telling me which domain maps to each user's directory (the directory will have the same name as the user). What i do not know is how to write the WSGIScriptAliasMatch line so that it also takes the path from the vhost.map file. What i want to do is something like this: I can have on my server different domains like www.virgilbalibanu.com or virgil.balibanu.com and flaviu.balibanu.com where each domain would belog to another user, the user name having no neccesary connection to the domain name. I want to do this beacuse a user, wehn he makes an acoount receives something like virgil.mydomain.com but if he has his own domain he can change it later to that, for example www.virgilbalibanu.ro, and this way I would only need to chenage the line in the vhost.map file So far I have something like this: Alias /media/ /mnt/data/www/iitcms/media/ #all media is taken from here RewriteEngine on RewriteMap lowercase int:tolower # define the map file RewriteMap vhost txt:/mnt/data/www/domains/vhost.map #this does not work either, can;t say why atm RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/uploads/ RewriteCond ${lowercase:%{SERVER_NAME}} ^(.+)$ RewriteCond ${vhost:%1} ^(/.*)$ RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ %1/media/uploads/$1 #---> this I have no ideea how i could do WSGIScriptAliasMatch ^([^/]+) /mnt/data/www/domains/$1/apache/django.wsgi <Directory "/mnt/data/www/domains"> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> <DirectoryMatch ^/mnt/data/www/domains/([^/]+)/apache> AllowOverride None Options FollowSymLinks ExecCGI Order deny, allow Allow from all </DirectoryMatch> <Directory /mnt/data/www/iitcms/media> AllowOverride None Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> <DirectoryMatch ^/mnt/data/www/domains/([^/]+)/media/uploads> AllowOverride None Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews Order allow, deny Allow from all </DirectoryMatch> I know the part i did with mod_rewrite doesn't work, couldn't really say why not but that's not as important so far, I am curious how could i write the WSGIScriptAliasMatch line so that to accomplish my objective. I would be very grateful for any help, or any other ideas related to how i can deal with this. Also it would be great if I'd manage to get each site to run in wsgi daemon mode, thou that is not as important. Thanks, Virgil

  • Problems with apache svn server (403 Forbidden)

    - by mrlanrat
Iv recently setup a SVN server on my papache webserver. I installed USVN http://www.usvn.fr/ to help manage the repositories from a web interface. When I create a repository and try to import code into it from netbeans i get the following error: org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: RA layer request failed Server sent unexpected return value (403 Forbidden) in response to PROPFIND request for '/svn/python1' I know i have the username and password correct (and I have tried different users) I have done some research and it seems that it is most likely an Apache svn error. Below is the config file for this virtualhost. <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName svn.domain.com ServerAlias www.svn.domain.com ServerAlias admin.svn.domain.com DocumentRoot /home/mrlanrat/domains/svn.domain.com/usvn/public ErrorLog /var/log/virtualmin/svn.domain.com_error_log CustomLog /var/log/virtualmin/svn.domain.com_access_log combined DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.php index.php4 index.php5 <Directory "/home/mrlanrat/domains/svn.domain.com/usvn"> Options +SymLinksIfOwnerMatch AllowOverride All Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> <Location /svn/> ErrorDocument 404 default DAV svn Require valid-user SVNParentPath /home/mrlanrat/domains/svn.domain.com/usvn/files/svn SVNListParentPath on AuthType Basic AuthName "USVN" AuthUserFile /home/mrlanrat/domains/svn.domain.com/usvn/files/htpasswd AuthzSVNAccessFile /home/mrlanrat/domains/svn.domain.com/usvn/files/authz </Location> </VirtualHost> Can anyone point out what I may have done wrong and how to fix it? I have tested with changing file permissions and changing the configuration with no luck. Thanks in advance!

  • Rewrite request URI based on Host header in HAProxy

    - by DorinC
I would like to set up HAProxy to forward HTTP requests to some backend servers but I need it to also rewrite the URI part based on the Host. I've read through the doc but it seems that reqirep isn't suitable for this purpose. Any idea if this is even possible with HAProxy? Here are the details of what I'm trying to accomplish: Requests that come in on: http://www.original-domain.com/ would be balanced between: http://server1/domains/www.original-domain.com/ ... http://serverN/domains/www.original-domain.com/ The proxy should be able to handle this for any number of domains (original-domain.com can be anything, it's not limited to a fixed set of values). For this to work HAProxy would need to rewrite a request like this: GET /original-uri HTTP/1.1 Host: original-domain.com to: GET /domains/original-domain.com/original-uri HTTP/1.1 Host: serverN and forward that request to one of the internal servers.

  • Improve performance of bind9 service restart

    - by Jakob
Hi, I'm setting up a name server hosting DNS for a large number of domains, 50,000 - 100,000 domains. I will be using Bind9 and the service will need to be restarted several times a day. I have made some tests and it seems that restart of the Bind9 service scales very poorly with the number of domains. #domains | restart time ----------------------- 10,000 | 3.1 sec 25,000 | 8.9 sec 50,000 | 50 sec 100,000 | 7:50 min Is there some way to speedup the restart of the service? I have noticed that restart only utilizes one core, is there some way for it to use more cores? The Bind9 version is 9.7.1-P2 with default configuration. The server running Bind9 is a Intel Core 2 Due 2.93 GHz with 4 GB memory and Ubuntu Server 10.10. Any help will be appreciated. Jakob

  • Apache Alias subfolder and starting with dot

    - by MauricioOtta
I have a multi purpose server running ArchLinux that currently serves multiple virtual hosts from /var/www/domains/EXAMPLE.COM/html /var/www/domains/EXAMPLE2.COM/html I deploy those websites (mostly using Kohana framework) using a Jenkins job by checking out the project, removes the .git folder and ssh-copy the tar.gz to /var/www/domains/ on the server and untars it. Since I don't want to have to re-install phpMyAdmin after each deploy, I decided to use an alias. I would like the alias to be something like /.tools/phpMyAdmin/ so I could have more "tools" later if I wanted to. I have tried just changing the default httpd-phpmyadmin.conf that was installed by following the official WIKI: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Phpmyadmin Alias /.tools/phpMyAdmin/ "/usr/share/webapps/phpMyAdmin" <Directory "/usr/share/webapps/phpMyAdmin"> AllowOverride All Options FollowSymlinks Order allow, deny Allow from all php_admin_value open_basedir "/var/www/:/tmp/:/usr/share/webapps/:/etc/webapps:/usr/share/pear/" </Directory> Changing only that, doesn't seem to work with my current setup on the server, and apache forwards the request to the framework which 404s (as there's no route to handle /.tools/phpAdmin). I have Mass Virtual hosting enable and setup like this: # # Use name-based virtual hosting. # NameVirtualHost *:8000 # get the server name from the Host: header UseCanonicalName On # splittable logs LogFormat "%{Host}i %h %l %u %t \"%r\" %s %b" vcommon CustomLog logs/access_log vcommon <Directory /var/www/domains> # ExecCGI is needed here because we can't force # CGI execution in the way that ScriptAlias does Options FollowSymLinks ExecCGI AllowOverride All Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> RewriteEngine On # a ServerName derived from a Host: header may be any case at all RewriteMap lowercase int:tolower ## deal with normal documents first: # allow Alias /icons/ to work - repeat for other aliases RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/icons/ # allow CGIs to work RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/cgi-bin/ # do the magic RewriteCond %{SERVER_NAME} ^(www\.|)(.*) RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ /var/www/domains/${lowercase:%2}/html/$1 ## and now deal with CGIs - we have to force a MIME type RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/cgi-bin/ RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ /var/www/domains/${lowercase:%{SERVER_NAME}}/cgi-bin/$1 [T=application/x-httpd-cgi] There is also nginx running on this server on port 80 as a reverse proxy for Apache: location ~ \.php$ { proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8000; } Everything else was setup by following the official WIKI so I don't think those would cause trouble. Do I need to have the alias for phpMyAdmin setup along the mass virtual hosting or can it be in a separate include file for that alias to work?

  • How Do I Configure ProFTP for Website Update?

    - by ServerChecker
I am running Ubuntu Server 9.10 with ProFTPD, and I also have Webmin. I have DNS setup for 3 domains, mail setup for 3 domains, as well as Apache2 setup for those domains. They work great. Now I want to give FTP access for an incoming user, but point them to /var/www/[domain] and have them come in as something like user "ftpuser" but want this to translate to user "www-data" so that web permissions will be correct. What is the technique to do this?

  • Discover all websites that point to an IP address

    - by crn
Our company owns over 60 domains and a few external IP addresses (several domains share an external IP address). How do I discover all the domains that use a particular IP address (e.g. 69.x.x.7) without going through the DNS information on each domain? The particular webserver is running Windows 2003 and IIS6. Thanks, in advance, for your help!

  • Setting up nameserver / DNS with IIS 7 / Windows Server 2008

    - by Mike
I recently set up my own server; I've got my fixed IP working perfectly publicly. I've got 5 domains that I want pointed at this server. I'm completely lost on what to do: I was told I need to set up a DNS / nameserver on the server via IIS7 / Windows DNS, because I want to host the domains on the server (domains via godaddy). Can anyone help on what to do? Where do I point the domains, what do I set in the DNS? I've searched and searched, and found no tutorials that worked. Thanks!

  • Nginx load distribution and multi-domain SSL

    - by Steve Clark
I'm researching into the best methods of two new parts of our infrastructure, hopefully finding a single solution for both. 1) We're currently running a single application server, and we're going to be adding an additional application server and load balance between the two. 2) We handle a few thousand domains across the application server(s), and we're looking to support SSL. The best method i've come across so far is using nginx for it's Load Distribution to serve the requests to the application servers, and for it's SSL support. If a request is using SSL, nginx accepts the request on, terminates SSL and pipes to apache (app servers). Now, that's all good, but i'm yet to figure out how we can let nginx handle multiple domains using SSL. We're potentially looking at using UCC SSL Certs, so we can support 150 domains on a single certificate, with each cert on a single IP. I'm all new to this (My experience is just with physical load balancers and a single domains on SSL), so any advice would be very much appreciated.

  • Windows Azure Upgrade Domain

    - by kaleidoscope
Windows Azure automatically divides your role instances into some “logical” domains called upgrade domains. During upgrade, Azure is updating these domains one by one. This is a by design behavior to avoid nasty situations. Some of the last feature additions and enhancements on the platform was the ability to notify your role instances in case of “environment” changes, like adding or removing being most common. In such case, all your roles get a notification of this change. Imagine if you had 50 or 60 role instances, getting notified all at once and start doing various actions to react to this change. It will be a complete disaster for your service. The way to address this problem is upgrade domains. During upgrade Windows Azure updates them one by one and only the associated role instances to a specific domain get notified of the changes taking place. Only a small number of your role instances will get notified, react and the rest will remain intact providing a seamless upgrade experience and no service disruption or downtime. http://www.kefalidis.me/archive/2009/11/27/windows-azure-ndash-what-is-an-upgrade-domain.aspx   Lokesh, M

  • Robots.txt practices with .htaccess redirections (inherits)

    - by Jayhal
I have a question regarding how to write robots.txt files for many domains and subdomains with redirects in place. We have a hosting account that enacts primary and add-on domains. All of our domains and subdomains, including the primary domain, is redirected via htaccess 301s to their own subdirectories in the primary domain's root directory. I'm confused about how I would write the robots.txt for certain directories. First, I wanted to confirm I am right in understanding that for domains and subdomains, crawlers will look to the directory that acts as that urls root directory for the crawling rules(robots.txt). Also, that a directory will not be affected by a robots.txt present in their parent directory if the directory has its own domain/subdomain, and that url is the one being accessed by crawlers. (Am pretty sure, but I wanted to confirm I didnt have a fundamentally flawed understanding of robots.txt) In the original root directory on the account(where the primary domain was directed before htaccess was put in place) what should the robots.txt contain? When crawlers look to crawl our primary domain, will they look to the original root directory for the robots.txt or will they reference the file contained in the new subdirectory where all the primary domain's site files are located? If so, what should the root's robot.txt include if anything at all. Would I be right to include a simple 'disallow: /' for all agents, and then include more specific robots.txt files in each subdirectory with more specific instructions. Would that affect the crawling of the directory where the primary domain is now redirected? Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

  • Economical DNS hosting separate from local registrar for country specific TLDs - email or web hosting not required

    - by Eric Nguyen
Our company owns many country specific top level domains (TLDs; .sg, .my). We will purchase more for other countries in all South East Asia. These domains are associated with our websites hosted on Amazon EC2. The DNS records are currently hosted on a dedicated server that will shut down tomorrow. (The name servers are set to the ones of a web hosting company) Therefore, I will need to host the DNS records somewhere else. Hosting the DNS records with the local registrar costs SGD18 a year per domain in addition to the domain price (which is already very expensive but we have no choice). It would be convenience to host DNS recors for all the country specific TLDs we have using a single service, separate from the local registrars from which we bought the domains. A few searches prompted examples like Amazon Route 53 and dnsmadeeasy.com and the likes. However, since I'm only concern about the country specific TLDs, not .com 1) Is it really economical to host DNS records of all domains in 1 single place as described above? (Have the relevant countries and/or the local registrars done something to keep their monopoly and always charges ridiculous prices for their country specific TLDs?) 2) I would imagine I will need to tell the local registrars to update the name servers to those of the DNS hosting service provider e.g. dnsmadeeasy.com here. Am I correct about how it works here? 3) Will I be able point the TLDs themselves to IP addresses I desire (the EC2 instances where my websites are) or will I only able to do so with the subdomains? 4) Are there any drawbacks that I should know here? Background about our needs: We need the websites associated with the country TLDs to be up and running all the times Also, we'll need to be able to add/edit A and CNAME records We use Google Apps for Business for internal email so I will need to be able to add/edit MX records and TXT records

  • Ghost Incognito Automatically Loads Incognito Mode Based on Domain

    - by Jason Fitzpatrick
Chrome: Ghost Incognito mode is a simple Chrome extension that automatically launches Incognito mode on a domain-by-domain basis. If you routinely visit the same sites using Incognito Mode, Ghost Incognito allows you to flag domains. By default it turns on Incognito for all .XXX domains and, once you select some domains, for any that you specify. Thus if you flag angrybirds.com, as we did for our test run of the app, every time you visit angrybirds.com or a sub-domain there of such as shop.angrybirds.com, you’ll be automatically directed to a new Incognito tab–no input from you necessary. • "Search Friendly" domain names

    - by Ben
We bought a few search friendly domain names for the CPA site that I manage. Each of the domains we bought has the name of a nearby city and the word cpa in front of, or behind the city name. The plan is to create a landing page for each of these domains with useful information about business filings, ect. specific to that city, as well as directions to our office from that city. The question is how to best utilize these new domains: Should each domain be set to a 301 redirect to mainsite.com/city ? Should each domain be it's own single page mini-site that links to mainsite.com ? What other options are there and what are the pros/cons? Remember the goal is to be more relevant in searches that use a nearby city name in their search for CPA/accounting services.

  • Sub Domain tracking with Analytics filters

    - by Nick
Hi All, We currently have Analytics tracking codes running throughout our site including our Sub Domains. What I would like to do is create different Profiles under the same account segmenting the sub domains by means of filters. Currently I am just excluding the hostname of the main website by using the following custom filter: Exclude: Hostname Filter pattern: ^www.mydomain.co.za(.*) I know this isn't the proper method of doing this though and have some of the main domains links coming through in the data. Ideally I would just like to include anything from: sub.domain.co.za Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
