  • Google App Engine JDO how to define instance fields ?

    - by Frank
    I have a class like this : import java.io.*; import java.util.*; public class Contact_Info_Entry implements Serializable { public static final long serialVersionUID=26362862L; String Contact_Id,First_Name="",Last_Name="",Company_Name="",Branch_Name="",Address_1="",Address_2="",City="",State="",Zip="",Country="",E_Mail="",Phone; int I_1,I_2; float F_1,F_2; boolean B_1,B_2; GregorianCalendar Date_1, Date_2; Vector<String> A_Vector=new Vector<String>(); public Contact_Info_Entry() { } ...... } If I want to translate it to a class for JDO, do I need to define each field by it self or can I do a group at a time ? For instance do I have to make it like this : @PersistenceCapable(identityType=IdentityType.APPLICATION) public class Contact_Info_Entry implements Serializable { @PrimaryKey @Persistent(valueStrategy=IdGeneratorStrategy.IDENTITY) private Long id; @Persistent public static final long serialVersionUID=26362862L; @Persistent String Contact_Id; @Persistent String First_Name; @Persistent String Last_Name; ...... @Persistent int I_1; @Persistent int I_2; ... @Persistent float F_1; ... @Persistent boolean B_1; @Persistent boolean B_2; @Persistent GregorianCalendar Date_1; ... @Persistent Vector<String> A_Vector=new Vector<String>(); public Contact_Info_Entry() { } ...... } Or can I do a group at a time like this : @PersistenceCapable(identityType=IdentityType.APPLICATION) public class Contact_Info_Entry implements Serializable { @PrimaryKey @Persistent(valueStrategy=IdGeneratorStrategy.IDENTITY) private Long id; @Persistent public static final long serialVersionUID=26362862L; @Persistent String Contact_Id,First_Name,Last_Name=""; ...... @Persistent int I_1=0,I_2=1; ... @Persistent float F_1; ... @Persistent boolean B_1,B_2; @Persistent GregorianCalendar Date_1; ... @Persistent Vector<String> A_Vector=new Vector<String>(); public Contact_Info_Entry() { } ...... } Or can I skip the "@Persistent" all together like this : import java.io.*; import java.util.*; @PersistenceCapable(identityType=IdentityType.APPLICATION) public class Contact_Info_Entry implements Serializable { public static final long serialVersionUID=26362862L; String Contact_Id,First_Name="",Last_Name="",Company_Name="",Branch_Name="",Address_1="",Address_2="",City="",State="",Zip="",Country="", E_Mail="",Phone; int I_1,I_2; float F_1,F_2; boolean B_1,B_2; GregorianCalendar Date_1, Date_2; Vector<String> A_Vector=new Vector<String>(); public Contact_Info_Entry() { } ...... } Which are correct ?   • JOptionPane opening another JFrame

    - by mike_hornbeck
    So I'm continuing my fight with this : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2923545/creating-java-dialogs/2926126 task. Now my JOptionPane opens new window with envelope overfiew, but I can't change size of this window. Also I wanted to have sender's data in upper left corner, and receiver's data in bottom right. How can I achieve that ? There is also issue with OptionPane itself. After I click 'OK' it opens small window in the upper left corner of the screen. What is this and why it's appearing ? My code: import java.awt.*; import java.awt.Font; import javax.swing.*; public class Main extends JFrame { private static JTextField nameField = new JTextField(20); private static JTextField surnameField = new JTextField(); private static JTextField addr1Field = new JTextField(); private static JTextField addr2Field = new JTextField(); private static JComboBox sizes = new JComboBox(new String[] { "small", "medium", "large", "extra-large" }); public Main(){ JPanel mainPanel = new JPanel(); mainPanel.setLayout(new BoxLayout(mainPanel, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS)); getContentPane().add(mainPanel); JPanel addrPanel = new JPanel(new GridLayout(0, 1)); addrPanel.setBorder(BorderFactory.createTitledBorder("Receiver")); addrPanel.add(new JLabel("Name")); addrPanel.add(nameField); addrPanel.add(new JLabel("Surname")); addrPanel.add(surnameField); addrPanel.add(new JLabel("Address 1")); addrPanel.add(addr1Field); addrPanel.add(new JLabel("Address 2")); addrPanel.add(addr2Field); mainPanel.add(addrPanel); mainPanel.add(new JLabel(" ")); mainPanel.add(sizes); String[] buttons = { "OK", "Cancel"}; int c = JOptionPane.showOptionDialog( null, mainPanel, "My Panel", JOptionPane.DEFAULT_OPTION, JOptionPane.PLAIN_MESSAGE, null, buttons, buttons[0] ); if(c ==0){ new Envelope(nameField.getText(), surnameField.getText(), addr1Field.getText() , addr2Field.getText(), sizes.getSelectedIndex()); } setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); pack(); setVisible(true); } public static void main(String[] args) { new Main(); } } class Envelope extends JFrame { private final int SMALL=0; private final int MEDIUM=1; private final int LARGE=2; private final int XLARGE=3; public Envelope(String n, String s, String a1, String a2, int i){ Container content = getContentPane(); JPanel mainPanel = new JPanel(); mainPanel.setLayout(new BoxLayout(mainPanel, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS)); mainPanel.add(new JLabel("John Doe")); mainPanel.add(new JLabel("FooBar str 14")); mainPanel.add(new JLabel("Newark, 45-99")); JPanel dataPanel = new JPanel(); dataPanel.setFont(new Font("sansserif", Font.PLAIN, 32)); //set size from i mainPanel.setLayout(new BoxLayout(mainPanel, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS)); mainPanel.setBackground(Color.ORANGE); mainPanel.add(new JLabel("Mr "+n+" "+s)); mainPanel.add(new JLabel(a1)); mainPanel.add(new JLabel(a2)); content.setSize(450, 600); content.setBackground(Color.ORANGE); content.add(mainPanel, BorderLayout.NORTH); content.add(dataPanel, BorderLayout.SOUTH); setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); pack(); setVisible(true); } }

  • Java multiple class compositing and boiler plate reduction

    - by h2g2java
    We all know why Java does/should not have multiple inheritance. So this is not questioning about what has already been debated till-cows-come-home. This discusses what we would do when we wish to create a class that has the characteristics of two or more other classes. Probably, most of us would do this to "inherit" from three classes. For simplicity, I left out the constructor.: class Car extends Vehicle { final public Transport transport; final public Machine machine; } So that, Car class directly inherits methods and objects of Vehicle class, but would have to refer to transport and machine explicitly to refer to objects instantiated in Transport and Machine. Car car = new Car(); car.drive(); // from Vehicle car.transport.isAmphibious(); // from Transport car.machine.getCO2Footprint(); // from Machine I thought this was a good idea until when I encounter frameworks that require setter and getter methods. For example, the XML <Car amphibious='false' footPrint='1000' model='Fordstatic999'/> would look for the methods setAmphibious(..), setFootPrint(..) and setModel(..). Therefore, I have to project the methods from Transport and Machine classes class Car extends Vehicle { final public Transport transport; final public Machine machine; public void setAmphibious(boolean b){ this.transport.setAmphibious(b); } public void setFootPrint(String fp){ this.machine.setFootPrint(fp); } } This is OK, if there were just a few characteristics. Right now, I am trying to adapt all of SmartGWT into GWT UIBinder, especially those classes that are not a GWT widget. There are lots of characteristics to project. Wouldn't it be nice if there exists some form of annotation framework that is like this: class Car extends Vehicle @projects {Transport @projects{Machine @projects Guzzler}} { /* No need to explicitly instantiate Transport, Machine or Guzzler */ .... } Where, in case of common names of characteristics exist, the characteristics of Machine would take precedence Guzzler's, and Transport's would have precedence over Machine's, and Vehicle's would have precedence over Transport's. The annotation framework would then instantiate Transport, Machine and Guzzler as hidden members of Car and expand to break-out the protected/public characteristics, in the precedence dictated by the @project annotation sequence, into actual source code or into byte-code. Preferably into byte-code. So that the setFootPrint method is found in both Machine and Guzzler, only that of Machine's would be projected. Questions: Don't you think this is a good idea to have such a framework? Does such a framework already exist? Tell me where/what. Is there an eclipse plugin that does it? Is there a proposal or plan anywhere that you know about such an annotation framework? It would be wonderful too, if the annotation/plugin framework lets me specify that boolean, int, or whatever else needs to be converted from String and does the conversion/parsing for me too. Please advise, somebody. I hope wording of my question was clear enough. Thx. Edited: To avoid OO enthusiasts jumping to conclusion, I have renamed the title of this question.

  • Spring Security and the Synchronizer Token J2EE pattern, problem when authentication fails.

    - by dfuse
    Hey, we are using Spring Security 2.0.4. We have a TransactionTokenBean which generates a unique token each POST, the bean is session scoped. The token is used for the duplicate form submission problem (and security). The TransactionTokenBean is called from a Servlet filter. Our problem is the following, after a session timeout occured, when you do a POST in the application Spring Security redirects to the logon page, saving the original request. After logging on again the TransactionTokenBean is created again, since it is session scoped, but then Spring forwards to the originally accessed url, also sending the token that was generated at that time. Since the TransactionTokenBean is created again, the tokens do not match and our filter throws an Exception. I don't quite know how to handle this elegantly, (or for that matter, I can't even fix it with a hack), any ideas? This is the code of the TransactionTokenBean: public class TransactionTokenBean implements Serializable { public static final int TOKEN_LENGTH = 8; private RandomizerBean randomizer; private transient Logger logger; private String expectedToken; public String getUniqueToken() { return expectedToken; } public void init() { resetUniqueToken(); } public final void verifyAndResetUniqueToken(String actualToken) { verifyUniqueToken(actualToken); resetUniqueToken(); } public void resetUniqueToken() { expectedToken = randomizer.getRandomString(TOKEN_LENGTH, RandomizerBean.ALPHANUMERICS); getLogger().debug("reset token to: " + expectedToken); } public void verifyUniqueToken(String actualToken) { if (getLogger().isDebugEnabled()) { getLogger().debug("verifying token. expected=" + expectedToken + ", actual=" + actualToken); } if (expectedToken == null || actualToken == null || !isValidToken(actualToken)) { throw new IllegalArgumentException("missing or invalid transaction token"); } if (!expectedToken.equals(actualToken)) { throw new InvalidTokenException(); } } private boolean isValidToken(String actualToken) { return StringUtils.isAlphanumeric(actualToken); } public void setRandomizer(RandomizerBean randomizer) { this.randomizer = randomizer; } private Logger getLogger() { if (logger == null) { logger = Logger.getLogger(TransactionTokenBean.class); } return logger; } } and this is the Servlet filter (ignore the Ajax stuff): public class SecurityFilter implements Filter { static final String AJAX_TOKEN_PARAM = "ATXTOKEN"; static final String TOKEN_PARAM = "TXTOKEN"; private WebApplicationContext webApplicationContext; private Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(SecurityFilter.class); public void init(FilterConfig config) { setWebApplicationContext(WebApplicationContextUtils.getWebApplicationContext(config.getServletContext())); } public void destroy() { } public void doFilter(ServletRequest req, ServletResponse response, FilterChain chain) throws IOException, ServletException { HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) req; if (isPostRequest(request)) { if (isAjaxRequest(request)) { log("verifying token for AJAX request " + request.getRequestURI()); getTransactionTokenBean(true).verifyUniqueToken(request.getParameter(AJAX_TOKEN_PARAM)); } else { log("verifying and resetting token for non-AJAX request " + request.getRequestURI()); getTransactionTokenBean(false).verifyAndResetUniqueToken(request.getParameter(TOKEN_PARAM)); } } chain.doFilter(request, response); } private void log(String line) { if (logger.isDebugEnabled()) { logger.debug(line); } } private boolean isPostRequest(HttpServletRequest request) { return "POST".equals(request.getMethod().toUpperCase()); } private boolean isAjaxRequest(HttpServletRequest request) { return request.getParameter("AJAXREQUEST") != null; } private TransactionTokenBean getTransactionTokenBean(boolean ajax) { return (TransactionTokenBean) webApplicationContext.getBean(ajax ? "ajaxTransactionTokenBean" : "transactionTokenBean"); } void setWebApplicationContext(WebApplicationContext context) { this.webApplicationContext = context; } }

  • sox mix nested scripts on amazon ec2 rhel linux

    - by Ray
    I'm trying to use "sox" to mix some audio files. The command works great on my Mac terminal sox -m audio.wav "| sox upload.wav -p trim 2 1 pad 6" final.wav This mixes (not concatenate) audio.wav and a section of upload.wav from the 2nd second to the 3rd second and adds 6 seconds of padding in the front, and outputs to final.wav Now the problem is, the SAME EXACT command does NOT work my Amazon EC2 RHEL box. (sox is installed correctly). I get the following error sox soxio: Can't open input file `| sox upload.wav -p trim 2 2 pad 6': No such file or directory For some reason RedHat doesn't like the double quotes. Even though it is documented to be used this way. Thanks for your help!

  • Update UI from an event with a thread

    - by tyrone-tudehope
    Im working on a small application to try out an idea that I have. The idea is to periodically update the UI when event of some sort occurs. In the demo I've created, I'm updating a ProgressDialog every 2 seconds for 15 turns. The problem I am having, which I don't quite understand is that when an event is handled, I send a message to the handler which is supposed to update the message in the ProgressDialog. When this happens however, I get an exception which states that I can't update the UI from that thread. The following code appears in my Activity: ProgressDialog diag; String diagMessage = "Started loading..."; final static int MESSAGE_DATA_RECEIVED = 0; final static int MESSAGE_RECEIVE_COMPLETED = 1; final Handler handler = new Handler(){ @Override public void handleMessage(Message msg){ diag.setMessage(diagMessage); switch(msg.what){ case MESSAGE_DATA_RECEIVED: break; case MESSAGE_RECEIVE_COMPLETED: dismissDialog(); killDialog(); break; } } }; Boolean isRunning = false; /** * Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setupDialog(); if(isRunning){ showDialog(); } setContentView(R.layout.main); } void setupDialog(){ if(diag == null){ diag = new ProgressDialog(ThreadLoading.this); diag.setMessage(diagMessage); } } void showDialog(){ isRunning = true; if(diag != null && !diag.isShowing()){ diag.show(); } } void dismissDialog(){ if(diag != null && diag.isShowing()){ diag.dismiss(); } } void killDialog(){ isRunning = false; } public void onStart(){ super.onStart(); showDialog(); Thread background = new Thread(new Runnable(){ public void run(){ try{ final ThreadRunner tr = new ThreadRunner(); tr.setOnDataReceivedListener(new ThreadRunner.OnDataReceivedListener(){ public void onDataReceived(String message){ diagMessage = message; handler.handleMessage(handler.obtainMessage(MESSAGE_DATA_RECEIVED)); } }); tr.setOnDataDownloadCompletedEventListener(new ThreadRunner.OnDataDownloadCompletedListener(){ public void onDataDownloadCompleted(String message){ diagMessage = message; handler.handleMessage(handler.obtainMessage(MESSAGE_RECEIVE_COMPLETED)); } }); tr.runProcess(); } catch(Throwable t){ throw new RuntimeException(t); } } }); background.start(); } @Override public void onPause(){ super.onPause(); dismissDialog(); } For curiosity sake, here's the code for the ThreadRunner class: public interface OnDataReceivedListener { public void onDataReceived(String message); } public interface OnDataDownloadCompletedListener { public void onDataDownloadCompleted(String message); } private OnDataReceivedListener onDataReceivedEventListener; private OnDataDownloadCompletedListener onDataDownloadCompletedEventListener; int maxLoop = 15; int loopCount = 0; int sleepTime = 2000; public void setOnDataReceivedListener(OnDataReceivedListener onDataReceivedListener){ this.onDataReceivedEventListener = onDataReceivedListener; } public void setOnDataDownloadCompletedEventListener(OnDataDownloadCompletedListener onDataDownloadCompletedListener){ this.onDataDownloadCompletedEventListener = onDataDownloadCompletedListener; } public void runProcess(){ for(loopCount = 0; loopCount < maxLoop; loopCount++){ try{ Thread.sleep(sleepTime); onDataReceivedEventListener.onDataReceived(Integer.toString(loopCount)); } catch(Throwable t){ throw new RuntimeException(t); } } onDataDownloadCompletedEventListener.onDataDownloadCompleted("Download is completed"); } Am I missing something? The logic makes sense to me and it looks like everything should work, I'm using a handler to update the UI like it is recommended. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Tyrone P.S. I'm developing for Android 1.5

  • How can I make results of a formula values that can be filtered or use vlookup with Excel

    - by Burt
    I am having an issue in that I am using various formulas to move, split data, etc from various sources. The problem is when my final results post to the final destination that I want, I still need to either run advanced filters, or a vlookup with the results. I can’t do this because as an example if cell A1 shows a value of: A127 the actual cell content is: =RIGHT(A2,FIND(" ",A2&" ")-2) Everything I read said to copy and paste special values, but this doesn’t work for me as the idea is to have the formulas/macros run everything and eliminating cutting and pasting. In the case above I have a formula that pulls that info from a spreadsheet that is saved every week. Once it is pulled part of it is cut out in another column. I then need to run a vlookup on those results for data already contained on another tab.

  • Anything wrong with this function for comparing floats?

    - by Michael Borgwardt
    When my Floating-Point Guide was yesterday published on slashdot, I got a lot of flak for my suggested comparison function, which was indeed inadequate. So I finally did the sensible thing and wrote a test suite to see whether I could get them all to pass. Here is my result so far. And I wonder if this is really as good as one can get with a generic (i.e. not application specific) float comparison function, or whether I still missed some edge cases. import static org.junit.Assert.assertFalse; import static org.junit.Assert.assertTrue; import org.junit.Test; public class NearlyEqualsTest { public static boolean nearlyEqual(float a, float b) { final float epsilon = 0.000001f; final float absA = Math.abs(a); final float absB = Math.abs(b); final float diff = Math.abs(a-b); if (a*b==0) { // a or b or both are zero // relative error is not meaningful here return diff < Float.MIN_VALUE / epsilon; } else { // use relative error return diff / (absA+absB) < epsilon; } } /** Regular large numbers - generally not problematic */ @Test public void big() { assertTrue(nearlyEqual(1000000f, 1000001f)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(1000001f, 1000000f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(10000f, 10001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(10001f, 10000f)); } /** Negative large numbers */ @Test public void bigNeg() { assertTrue(nearlyEqual(-1000000f, -1000001f)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(-1000001f, -1000000f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(-10000f, -10001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(-10001f, -10000f)); } /** Numbers around 1 */ @Test public void mid() { assertTrue(nearlyEqual(1.0000001f, 1.0000002f)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(1.0000002f, 1.0000001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(1.0002f, 1.0001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(1.0001f, 1.0002f)); } /** Numbers around -1 */ @Test public void midNeg() { assertTrue(nearlyEqual(-1.000001f, -1.000002f)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(-1.000002f, -1.000001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(-1.0001f, -1.0002f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(-1.0002f, -1.0001f)); } /** Numbers between 1 and 0 */ @Test public void small() { assertTrue(nearlyEqual(0.000000001000001f, 0.000000001000002f)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(0.000000001000002f, 0.000000001000001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(0.000000000001002f, 0.000000000001001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(0.000000000001001f, 0.000000000001002f)); } /** Numbers between -1 and 0 */ @Test public void smallNeg() { assertTrue(nearlyEqual(-0.000000001000001f, -0.000000001000002f)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(-0.000000001000002f, -0.000000001000001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(-0.000000000001002f, -0.000000000001001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(-0.000000000001001f, -0.000000000001002f)); } /** Comparisons involving zero */ @Test public void zero() { assertTrue(nearlyEqual(0.0f, 0.0f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(0.00000001f, 0.0f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(0.0f, 0.00000001f)); } /** Comparisons of numbers on opposite sides of 0 */ @Test public void opposite() { assertFalse(nearlyEqual(1.000000001f, -1.0f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(-1.0f, 1.000000001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(-1.000000001f, 1.0f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(1.0f, -1.000000001f)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(10000f*Float.MIN_VALUE, -10000f*Float.MIN_VALUE)); } /** * The really tricky part - comparisons of numbers * very close to zero. */ @Test public void ulp() { assertTrue(nearlyEqual(Float.MIN_VALUE, -Float.MIN_VALUE)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(-Float.MIN_VALUE, Float.MIN_VALUE)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(Float.MIN_VALUE, 0)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(0, Float.MIN_VALUE)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(-Float.MIN_VALUE, 0)); assertTrue(nearlyEqual(0, -Float.MIN_VALUE)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(0.000000001f, -Float.MIN_VALUE)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(0.000000001f, Float.MIN_VALUE)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(Float.MIN_VALUE, 0.000000001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(-Float.MIN_VALUE, 0.000000001f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(1e20f*Float.MIN_VALUE, 0.0f)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(0.0f, 1e20f*Float.MIN_VALUE)); assertFalse(nearlyEqual(1e20f*Float.MIN_VALUE, -1e20f*Float.MIN_VALUE)); } }

My given condition is: if (NewtheStatus == 1) { alreadyOrderText .setVisibility(TextView.GONE); } else{ checkBox.setVisibility(CheckBox.GONE); } But Some times I obtain some row that has neither checkBox nor TextView. The Code of my Custom BaseAdapter is given below . private class MyCustomAdapter extends BaseAdapter { private static final int TYPE_ITEM = 0; private static final int TYPE_ITEM_WITH_HEADER = 1; // private static final int TYPE_MAX_COUNT = TYPE_SEPARATOR + 1; private ArrayList<WatchListAllEntity> mData = new ArrayList(); private LayoutInflater mInflater; private ArrayList<WatchListAllEntity> items = new ArrayList<WatchListAllEntity>(); public MyCustomAdapter(Context context, ArrayList<WatchListAllEntity> items) { mInflater = (LayoutInflater) getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE); } public void addItem(WatchListAllEntity watchListAllEntity) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub items.add(watchListAllEntity); } public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { View v = convertView; final int position1 = position; if (v == null) { LayoutInflater vi = (LayoutInflater) getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE); v = vi.inflate(R.layout.listitempict, null); } watchListAllEntity = new WatchListAllEntity(); watchListAllEntity = items.get(position); Log.i("position: iteamsLength ", position + ", " + items.size()); if (watchListAllEntity != null) { ImageView itemImage = (ImageView) v .findViewById(R.id.imageviewproduct); if (watchListAllEntity.get_thumbnail_image_url1() != null) { Drawable image = ImageOperations(watchListAllEntity .get_thumbnail_image_url1().replace(" ", "%20"), "image.jpg"); // itemImage.setImageResource(R.drawable.icon); if (image != null) { itemImage.setImageDrawable(image); itemImage.setAdjustViewBounds(true); } else { itemImage.setImageResource(R.drawable.iconnamecard); } Log.i("status_ja , status", watchListAllEntity.get_status_ja() + " ," + watchListAllEntity.getStatus()); int NewtheStatus = Integer.parseInt(watchListAllEntity .getStatus()); CheckBox checkBox = (CheckBox) v .findViewById(R.id.checkboxproduct); TextView alreadyOrderText = (TextView) v .findViewById(R.id.alreadyordertext); if (NewtheStatus == 1) { alreadyOrderText .setVisibility(TextView.GONE); } else{ checkBox.setVisibility(CheckBox.GONE); } Log.i("Loading ProccardId: ", watchListAllEntity.get_proc_card_id() + ""); checkBox.setOnCheckedChangeListener(new OnCheckedChangeListener() { public void onCheckedChanged(CompoundButton buttonView, boolean isChecked) { WatchListAllEntity watchListAllEntity2 = items .get(position1); Log.i("Position: ", position1 + ""); // TODO Auto-generated method stub if (isChecked) { Constants.orderList.add(watchListAllEntity2 .get_proc_card_id()); Log.i("Proc Card Id Add: ", watchListAllEntity2 .get_proc_card_id() + ""); } else { Constants.orderList.remove(watchListAllEntity2 .get_proc_card_id()); Log.i("Proc Card Id Remove: ", watchListAllEntity2.get_proc_card_id() + ""); } } }); } } return v; } private Drawable ImageOperations(String url, String saveFilename) { try { InputStream is = (InputStream) this.fetch(url); Drawable d = Drawable.createFromStream(is, "src"); return d; } catch (MalformedURLException e) { return null; } catch (IOException e) { return null; } } public Object fetch(String address) throws MalformedURLException, IOException { URL url = new URL(address); Object content = url.getContent(); return content; } public int getCount() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub int sizef=items.size(); Log.i("Size", sizef+""); return items.size(); } public Object getItem(int position) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return items.get(position); } public long getItemId(int position) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return position; } }

  • Modifying the install environment for RH-like installations

    - by javanix
    I am trying to modify the basic installation environment (ie, what Anaconda runs in) for a customized CentOS distribution. For the first try, I would just like to modify a few of the splash images. My initial attempt to do this entailed: 1) Mount images/install.img to a directory ~/img/ 2) Copy all files from img/ to ~/tmpimg/ 3) Modify the splash images 4) mkisofs -o ~/final/install.img 5) cp ~/final/install.img back to my ~/cdroot/ folder and remake the iso. However, the generated .img in step 4 doesn't even come close to matching the file size from the original install.img (meaning that install.img must be created in some other fashion using compression), and it fails when I boot my iso. What settings should I be using to make the install.img file? Is there some other technique for modifying CentOS install environments?

  • How to export an image from Photoshop to PDF while preserving the exact size?

    - by romkyns
    There used to be a PDF export option in Photoshop, but it's gone in CS4. What replaced it is Bridge, however no matter what I do, Bridge ends up resizing my image. The physical dimensions (cm/inches) in the final PDF are not what they are in Photoshop. Any tips on exporting an image without messing up its size? (Clarification: I want the final PDF to contain a page of the size I specify, with a white background, and my image positioned somewhere on this page such that the image width/height in cm is exactly the same in the PDF as it was in Photoshop.)

  • How to rename multiple files by replacing word in file name geting from the shell script variables?

    - by fy6877
    This question like this thread. How to rename multiple files by replacing word in file name? My example is more complex than the above topic. The two variables are $name and $ newname getting from the shell script other location. $name and $ newname may have the unicode words or special symbles like []<?...etc,so could anyone help me to provide a method to add a part of script in shell scrit to solve file name replacing question. BTW,I try to type two kind of commands to change the part of file name, but it can't work. rename.ul '$name' '$newname' /home/fy6877/test/final/* ls /home/fy6877/test/final/|xargs -I$ rename.ul '$name' '$newname' $

  • ANDROID: inside Service class, executing a method for Toast (or Status Bar notification) from schedu

    - by Peter SHINe ???
    I am trying to execute a {public void} method in Service, from scheduled TimerTask which is periodically executing. This TimerTask periodically checks a condition. If it's true, it calls method via {className}.{methodName}; However, as Java requires, the method needs to be {pubic static} method, if I want to use {className} with {.dot} The problem is this method is for notification using Toast(Android pop-up notification) and Status Bar To use these notifications, one must use Context context = getApplicationContext(); But for this to work, the method must not have {static} modifier and resides in Service class. So, basically, I want background Service to evaluate condition from scheduled TimerTask, and execute a method in Service class. Can anyone help me what's the right way to use Service, invoking a method when certain condition is satisfied while looping evaluation? Here are the actually lines of codes: The TimerTask class (WatchClipboard.java) : public class WatchClipboard extends TimerTask { //DECLARATION private static GetDefinition getDefinition = new GetDefinition(); @Override public void run() { if (WordUp.clipboard.hasText()) { WordUp.newCopied = WordUp.clipboard.getText().toString().trim().toLowerCase(); if (!(WordUp.currentCopied.equals(WordUp.newCopied))) { WordUp.currentCopied = WordUp.newCopied; Log.v(WordUp.TAG, WordUp.currentCopied); getDefinition.apiCall_Wordnik(); FetchService.instantNotification(); //it requires this method to have {static} modifier, if I want call in this way. } } } } And the Service class (FetchService.java) : If I change the modifier to static, {Context} related problems occur public class FetchService extends Service { public static final String TAG = "WordUp"; //for Logcat filtering //DECLARATION private static Timer runningTimer; private static final boolean THIS_IS_DAEMON = true; private static WatchClipboard watchClipboard; private static final long DELAY = 0; private static final long PERIOD = 100; @Override public IBinder onBind(Intent arg0) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return null; } @Override public void onCreate() { Log.v(WordUp.TAG, "FetchService.onCreate()"); super.onCreate(); //TESTING SERVICE RUNNING watchClipboard = new WatchClipboard(); runningTimer = new Timer("runningTimer", THIS_IS_DAEMON); runningTimer.schedule(watchClipboard, DELAY, PERIOD); } @Override public void onDestroy() { super.onDestroy(); runningTimer.cancel(); stopSelf(); Log.v(WordUp.TAG, "FetchService.onCreate().stopSelf()"); } public void instantNotification() { //If I change the modifier to static, {Context} related problems occur Context context = getApplicationContext(); // application Context //use Toast notification: Need to accept user interaction, and change the duration of show Toast toast = Toast.makeText(context, WordUp.newCopied+": "+WordUp.newDefinition, Toast.LENGTH_LONG); toast.show(); //use Status notification: need to automatically expand to show lines of definitions NotificationManager mNotificationManager = (NotificationManager) getSystemService(Context.NOTIFICATION_SERVICE); int icon = R.drawable.icon; // icon from resources CharSequence tickerText = WordUp.newCopied; // ticker-text long when = System.currentTimeMillis(); // notification time CharSequence contentTitle = WordUp.newCopied; //expanded message title CharSequence contentText = WordUp.newDefinition; //expanded message text Intent notificationIntent = new Intent(this, WordUp.class); PendingIntent contentIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, notificationIntent, 0); // the next two lines initialize the Notification, using the configurations above Notification notification = new Notification(icon, tickerText, when); notification.setLatestEventInfo(context, contentTitle, contentText, contentIntent); mNotificationManager.notify(WordUp.WORDUP_STATUS, notification); } }

  • Running JBoss 6 with Runit / daemontools or other process supervision framework

    - by Alex Recarey
    I'm tying to use runit to daemonize JBoss. I use the /opt/jboss-6.1.0.Final/bin/run.sh script to start the server. When I do so from the comandline, JBoss does not detach (which is what we want), and will also shut down when CTRL+C is pressed. In theory a perfect candidate to use runit on. Everything works fine except when I try to get runit to shut down JBoss. When I issue the command sv stop jboss nothing happens. Runit thinks the process is stopped but jboss continues to run normally. I'm not doing anything special with the run script. This is my runit run script: #!/bin/sh exec 2>&1 exec /opt/jboss-6.1.0.Final/bin/run.sh -c standard -b 0.0.0.0 Looking at the jboss_init_redhat.sh script, the start section does mention ./bin/run.sh but the stop section has the following text: JBOSS_CMD_STOP=${JBOSS_CMD_STOP:-"java -classpath $JBOSSCP org.jboss.Shutdown --shutdown"} Any ideas of what I could try?

  • pscp: how to copy a file from a windows machine to a non-home location on another windows machine?

    - by help
    I want to copy a file from C:\temp on MachineA to C:\final on MachineB. I tried to use the following command, but it gave me an error (permission denied): C:\PROGRA~1\putty\pscp.exe -i C:\PROGRA~1\cwRsync\home\rcadmin\.ssh\id_rsa_private.ppk [email protected]:C:\final\test.txt C:\temp\test.txt It turned out I can only access C:\users\direcpc in my source computer. So if I put the file in C:\users\direcpc\text.txt, then it would work: C:\PROGRA~1\putty\pscp.exe -i C:\PROGRA~1\cwRsync\home\rcadmin\.ssh\id_rsa_private.ppk [email protected]:/test.txt C:\temp\test.txt But I want to access any location on my source computer instead of just my user home directory, is there a way to do this?

  • Bug Triage

    In this blog post brain dump, I'll attempt to describe the process my team tries to follow when dealing with new bug reports (specifically, code defect reports). This is not official Microsoft policy, just the way we do things… if you do things differently and want to share, you can do so at the bottom in the comments (or on your blog).Feature Triage TeamA subset of the feature crew, the triage team (which has representations from the PM, Dev and QA disciplines), looks at all unassigned bugs at regular intervals. This can be weekly or daily (or other frequency) dependent on which part of the product cycle we are in and what the untriaged bug load looks like. They discuss each bug considering the evidence and make a decision of whether the bug goes from Not Yet Assigned to Assigned (plus the name of the DEV to fix this) or whether it goes from Active to Resolved (which means it gets assigned back to the requestor for closure or further debate if they were not present at the triage meeting). Close to critical milestones, the feature triage team needs to further justify bugs they take to additional higher-level triage teams.Bug Opened = Not Yet AssignedSomeone (typically an SDET from the QA team) creates the bug item (e.g. in TFS), ensuring they populate all the relevant fields including: Title, Description, Repro Steps (including the Actual Result at the end of the steps), attachments of code and/or screenshots, Build number that they observed the issue in, regression details if applicable, how it was found, if a test case exists or needs to be created etc. They also indicate their opinion on the Priority and Severity. The bug status is left as Not Yet Assigned."Issue" versus "Fix for issue"The solution to some bugs is easy to determine, e.g. "bug: the column name is misspelled". Obviously the fix is to correct the spelling – still, the triage team should be explicit and enter the correct spelling in the bug's Description. Note that a bad bug name here would be "bug: fix the spelling of the column" (it describes the solution, rather than the problem).Other solutions are trickier to establish, e.g. "bug: the column header is not accessible (can only be clicked on with the mouse, not reached via keyboard)". What is the correct solution here? The last thing to do is leave this undetermined and just assign it to a developer. The solution has to be entered in the description. Behind this type of a bug usually hides a spec defect or a new feature request.The person opening the bug should focus on describing the issue, rather than the solution. The person indicates what the fix is in their opinion by stating the Expected Result (immediately after stating the Actual Result). If they have a complex suggested solution, that should be split out in a separate part, but the triage team has the final say before assigning it. If the solution is lengthy/complicated to describe, the bug can be assigned to the PM. Note: the strict interpretation suggests that any bug with no clear, obvious solution is always a hole in the spec and should always go to the PM. This also ensures the spec gets updated.Not Yet Assigned - Not Yet Assigned (on someone else's plate)If the bug is observed in our feature, but the cause is actually another team, we change the Area Path (which is the way we identify teams in TFS) and leave it as Not Yet Assigned. The triage team may add more comments as appropriate including potentially changing the repro steps. In some cases, we may even resolve the bug in our area path and open a new bug in the area path of the other team.Even though there is no action on a dev on the team, the bug still needs to be tracked. One way of doing this is to implement some notification system that informs the team when the tracked bug changed status; another way is to occasionally run a global query (against all area paths) for bugs that have been opened by a member of the team and follow up with the current owners for stale bugs.Not Yet Assigned - ResolvedThis state transition can only be made by the Feature Triage Team.0. Sometimes the bug description is not clear and in that case it gets Resolved as More Information Needed, so the original requestor can provide it.After understanding what the bug item is about, the first decision is to determine whether it needs to go to a dev.1. If it is a known bug, it gets resolved as "Duplicate" and linked to the existing bug.2. If it is "By Design" it gets resolved as such, indicating that the triage team does not think this is a bug.3. If the bug does not repro on latest bits, it is resolved as "No Repro"4. The most painful: If it is decided that we cannot fix it for this release it gets resolved as "Postponed" or "Won't Fix". The former is typically due to resources and time constraints, while the latter is due to deciding that it is not important enough to consume our resources in any release (yes, not all bugs must be fixed!). For both cases, there are other factors that contribute to the decision such as: existence of a reasonable workaround, frequency we expect users to encounter the issue, dependencies on other team to offer a solution, whether it breaks a core scenario, whether it prohibits customer feedback on a major feature, is it a regression from a previous release, impact of the fix on other partner teams (e.g. User Education, User Experience, Localization/Globalization), whether this is the right fix, does the fix impact performance goals, and last but not least, severity of bug (e.g. loss of customer data, security threat, crash, hang). The bar for fixing a bug goes up as the release date approaches. The triage team becomes hardnosed about which bugs to take, while the developers are busy resolving assigned bugs thus everyone drives for Zero Bug Bounce (ZBB). ZBB is when you have 0 active bugs older than 48 hours.Not Yet Assigned - AssignedIf the bug is something we decide to fix in this release and the solution is known, then it is assigned to a DEV. This is either the developer that will do the work, or a Lead that can further assign it to one of his developer team based on a load balancing algorithm of their choosing.Sometimes, the triage team needs the dev to do some investigation work before deciding whether to take the fix; similarly, the checkin for the fix may be gated on code review by the triage team. In these cases, these instructions are provided in the comments section of the bug and when the developer is done they notify the triage team for final decision.Additionally, a Priority and Severity (from 0 to 4) has to be entered, e.g. a P0 means "drop anything you are doing and fix this now" whereas a P4 is something you get to after all P0,1,2,3 bugs are fixed.From a testing perspective, if the bug was found through ad-hoc testing or an external team, the decision is made whether test cases should be added to avoid future regressions. This is communicated to the QA team.Assigned - ResolvedWhen the developer receives the bug (they should be checking daily for new bugs on their plate looking at bugs in order of priority and from older to newer) they can send it back to triage if the information is not clear. Otherwise, they investigate the bug, setting the Sub Status to "Investigating"; if they cannot make progress, they set the Sub Status to "Blocked" and discuss this with triage or whoever else can help them get unblocked. Once they are unblocked, they set the Sub Status to "Working on Solution"; once they are code complete they send a code review request, setting the Sub Status to "Fix Available". After the iterative code review process is over and everyone is happy with the fix, the developer checks it in and changes the state of the bug from Active (and Assigned to them) to Resolved (and Assigned to someone else).The developer needs to ensure that when the status is changed to Resolved that it is assigned to a QA person. For example, maybe the PM opened the bug, but it should be a QA person that will verify the fix - the developer needs to manually change the assignee in that case. Typically the QA person will send an email to the original requestor notifying them that the fix is verified.Resolved - ??In all cases above, note that the final state was Resolved. What happens after that? The final step should be Closed. The bug is closed once the QA person verifying the fix is happy with it. If the person is not happy, then they change the state from Resolved to Active, thus sending it back to the developer. If the developer and QA person cannot reach agreement, then triage can be brought into it. An easy way to do that is change the status back to Not Yet Assigned with appropriate comments so the triage team can re-review.It is important to note that only QA can close a bug. That means that if the opener of the bug was a PM, when the bug gets resolved by the dev it may land on the PM's plate and after a quick review, the PM would re-assign to an SDET, which is the only role that can close bugs. One exception to this is if the person that filed the bug is external: in that case, we leave it Resolved and assigned to them and also send them a notification that they need to verify the fix. Another exception is if specialized developer knowledge is needed for verifying the bug fix (e.g. it was a refactoring suggestion bug typically not observable by the user) in which case it is fine to have a developer verify the fix, and ideally a different developer to the one that opened the bug.Other links on bug triageA quick search reveals that others have talked about this subject, e.g. here, here, here, here and here.Your take?If you have other best practices your team uses to deal with incoming bug reports, feel free to share in the comments below or on your blog. • Physics in my game confused after restructuring the Game loop

    - by Julian Assange
    Hello! I'm on my way with making a game in Java. Now I have some trouble with an interpolation based game loop in my calculations. Before I used that system the calculation of a falling object was like this: Delta based system private static final float SPEED_OF_GRAVITY = 500.0f; @Override public void update(float timeDeltaSeconds, Object parentObject) { parentObject.y = parentObject.y + (parentObject.yVelocity * timeDeltaSeconds); parentObject.yVelocity -= SPEED_OF_GRAVITY * timeDeltaSeconds; ...... What you see here is that I used that delta value from previous frame to the current frame to calculate the physics. Now I switched and implement a interpolation based system and I actually left the current system where I used delta to calculate my physics. However, with the interpolation system the delta time is removed - but now are my calculations screwed up and I've tried the whole day to solve this: Interpolation based system private static final float SPEED_OF_GRAVITY = 500.0f; @Override public void update(Object parentObject) { parentObject.y = parentObject.y + (parentObject.yVelocity); parentObject.yVelocity -= SPEED_OF_GRAVITY; ...... I'm totally clueless - how should this be solved? The rendering part is solved with a simple prediction method. With the delta system I could see my object be smoothly rendered to the screen, but with this interpolation/prediction method the object just appear sticky for one second and then it's gone. The core of this game loop is actually from here deWiTTERS Game Loop, where I trying to implement the last solution he describes. Shortly - my physics are in a mess and this need to be solved. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  • Update on ASP.NET MVC 3 RC2 (and a workaround for a bug in it)

    - by ScottGu
    Last week we published the RC2 build of ASP.NET MVC 3.  I blogged a bunch of details about it here. One of the reasons we publish release candidates is to help find those last “hard to find” bugs. So far we haven’t seen many issues reported with the RC2 release (which is good) - although we have seen a few reports of a metadata caching bug that manifests itself in at least two scenarios: Nullable parameters in action methods have problems: When you have a controller action method with a nullable parameter (like int? – or a complex type that has a nullable sub-property), the nullable parameter might always end up being null - even when the request contains a valid value for the parameter. [AllowHtml] doesn’t allow HTML in model binding: When you decorate a model property with an [AllowHtml] attribute (to turn off HTML injection protection), the model binding still fails when HTML content is posted to it. Both of these issues are caused by an over-eager caching optimization we introduced very late in the RC2 milestone.  This issue will be fixed for the final ASP.NET MVC 3 release.  Below is a workaround step you can implement to fix it today. Workaround You Can Use Today You can fix the above issues with the current ASP.NT MVC 3 RC2 release by adding one line of code to the Application_Start() event handler within the Global.asax class of your application: The above code sets the ModelMetaDataProviders.Current property to use the DataAnnotationsModelMetadataProvider.  This causes ASP.NET MVC 3 to use a meta-data provider implementation that doesn’t have the more aggressive caching logic we introduced late in the RC2 release, and prevents the caching issues that cause the above issues to occur.  You don’t need to change any other code within your application.  Once you make this change the above issues are fixed.  You won’t need to have this line of code within your applications once the final ASP.NET MVC 3 release ships (although keeping it in also won’t cause any problems). Hope this helps – and please keep any reports of issues coming our way, Scott P.S. In addition to blogging, I am also now using Twitter for quick updates and to share links.
