  • I Purchased a Domain that Previously had a Google Apps Account. How Do I Re-Create The Google Apps Account or Take Ownership of it?

    - by jmort253
I recently purchased a domain name. We'll call it example.com. The previous owner of the domain had a Google Apps account. Now that I own the domain, I want to create a Google Apps account so I can point the domain www.example.com to one of my Google App Engine domains. We'll call it application.appspot.com. Google App Engine won't allow me to add the domain without verifying ownership by creating a Google Apps account or logging into Google Apps, but I don't have access to the old Google Apps account. We've tried going to this address to take ownership: https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/example.com/ResetAdminPassword?c=LONG_KEY&hl=en_US We retrieved a new password, but it wouldn't tell us what the login name is. How do you find out the login name?

  • Is Google Maps API V3 good enough to use now?

    - by Haroldo
Firstly, only reply if you have experience using API V3 (i can speculate myself!) I had a little go with V3 and it looked great but would love to hear from someone who's given it a bit of use before I start working with it and deploy it on a live site. I'm only looking to do very basic things: put markers on a map custom markers info bubbles It all looks very easy with v3: http://www.svennerberg.com/2009/06/google-maps-api-3-the-basics/ is it stable enough?

  • How extensible is Google Moderator?

    - by Masi
I am trying to integrate vote-up-buttons similar as in Reddit to Google Moderator. However, Google Moderator does not give me Shell access. This suggests me that the only way is to use Vote-up-buttons from an external server set by iframes. I would like to know How can you can assign Iframe_A to a question in Google Moderator? How can you can show an iframe in Google moderator?

  • How can I get the plain-text content of a Google Doc via Google Doc API in Silverlight?

    - by Edward Tanguay
    I would like to use the Google Doc API to retrieve the plain-text content of a Google Doc document (not a spreadsheet) via the Google Docs API. In the documentation I can find information about accessing Spreadsheets and how to "create/upload/copy" documents: http://code.google.com/apis/documents/overview.html Does anyone have a C# code example to do this in Silverlight, something like this: //PSEUDOCODE: WebClientGoogleDoc proxy = new WebClientGoogleDoc (); proxy.DownloadStringCompleted += new DownloadStringCompletedEventHandler(proxy_DownloadStringCompleted); proxy.DownloadProgressChanged += new DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler(proxy_DownloadProgressChanged); proxy.DownloadStringAsyncWithGoogleDocId("dc7gj86r_20dn2csqg3");

  • Windows 7 64-bit Google Chrome Makes Desktop Unresponsive

    - by Meengla
For the past 1-2 weeks my desktop becomes unresponsive sometimes. The problem seems to happen as I load a page in Google Chrome; it could be any page though today it happened when I tried to load a page with Flash content in it. The problem is not consistent and there is no pattern. I can do a virus scan using some software (not antivirus installed--never needed that) but I strongly suspect it is some software I installed or some Windows Update. This is a very powerful Dell Optiplex 990 with 16GB RAM, so Memory shouldn't be an issue. When the problem happens the cursor becomes spinning even over the taskbar and control alt delete takes a long time. Eventually I get a message that 'this program is not responding' with end/close and 'cancel' icon. But repeated end or cancel does nothing. Then the menu for ctrl alt del comes up. The rest of the applications keep running fine though I can't get to them because the cursor is the wait-cursor. What is happening? How can I find what exactly caused the problem? Thanks.

  • Pausing and Resuming the jQuery / ASP.NET News Ticker

Many websites display a news ticker of one sort or another. A news ticker is a user interface element that displays a subset of a list of items, cycling through them one at a time after a set interval. In December 2010 I wrote an article titled Use jQuery and ASP.NET to Build a News Ticker that explored how to create your own news ticker widget using jQuery and ASP.NET. The news ticker's content is defined as an unordered list (<ul>) where each list item (<li>) represents a news headline. Once the ticker's content is defined, having it cycle through the head lines is as simple as calling the JavaScript function startTicker(id, numberToShow, duration), which begins cycling the headlines in the unordered list with the specified id, showing numberToShow headlines at a time and cycling to the next headline every duration number of milliseconds. This installment shows how to enhance the news ticker to enable pausing and resuming. With these enhancements, the ticker can be configured to automatically pause rotating its headlines when the user mouses over it, and to resume rotating them once the user mouses out. Similarly, with a bit of additional markup and script you can add pause and play buttons to a ticker, allowing a user to start and stop the ticker by clicking an image or button. • Removing google mail markers with jquery after getting them from xml

    - by sebastian
Hi there, I'm trying to create a page that contains a google map. The map is filled with markers from an xml file. I just can't figure out how to remove "old" markers, that don't match the latest user input. At the moment my js stops after the very first xml item. The clearList.push(marker); is supposed to put the generated marker away for later usage. When the user hits the search button I want all markers to be gone and use clearMarkers();. Maybe someone here can help Sebastian Here is my JavaScript: $(document).ready(function() { $("#map").css({height: 650}); var clearList = []; var myLatLng = new google.maps.LatLng(52.518143, 13.372879); MYMAP.init('#map', myLatLng, 11); $("#showmarkers").click(function(e){ clearMarkers(); MYMAP.placeMarkers('markers.xml'); }); }); function clearMarkers() { $(clearList).each(function () { this.setmap(null); }); clearList = []; } var MYMAP = { map: null, bounds: null } MYMAP.init = function(selector, latLng, zoom) { var myOptions = { zoom:zoom, center: latLng, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.HYBRID } this.map = new google.maps.Map($(selector)[0], myOptions); this.bounds = new google.maps.LatLngBounds(); } MYMAP.placeMarkers = function(filename) { $.get(filename, function(xml){ $(xml).find("marker").each(function(){ // read values from xml for searching var platzart = $(this).find('platzart').text(); var ort = $(this).find('ort').text(); var open = $(this).find('open').text(); if (platzart =="Kunstrasen" && $('#kunstrasen').attr('checked') || platzart =="Rasen" && $('#rasen').attr('checked') || platzart =="Tartan" && $('#tartan').attr('checked') || platzart =="Boltzplatz" && $('#boltzplatz').attr('checked') ){ // read values from xml for additional info var name = $(this).find('name').text(); var plz = $(this).find('plz').text(); var note = $(this).find('note').text(); var adress = $(this).find('adress').text(); // create a new LatLng point for the marker var lat = $(this).find('lat').text(); var lng = $(this).find('lng').text(); var point = new google.maps.LatLng(parseFloat(lat),parseFloat(lng)); // extend the bounds to include the new point MYMAP.bounds.extend(point); // create new marker var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ position: point, map: MYMAP.map }); clearList.push(marker); // add onclick overlay var infoWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow(); var html='<strong>'+name+'</strong.><br />'+platzart; google.maps.event.addListener(marker, 'click', function() { infoWindow.setContent(html); infoWindow.open(MYMAP.map, marker); }); } MYMAP.map.fitBounds(MYMAP.bounds); }); }); } Thanks in advance

  • Friday Fun: Play Tetris in Google Chrome

    - by Asian Angel
Do you prefer playing classic games rather than the newer ones? Then get ready for some classic goodness with the JC-Tetris extension for Google Chrome. JC-Tetris in Action When you click on your new “JC-Tetris Toolbar Button” a new mini-Chrome window will open with the game displayed inside. This could be very convenient for those who would like or need to pause the game, minimize the window, and finish the game later. All that is needed to play are the four “Arrow Keys & the Space Bar”. Note: The text was small when the window first opened during our test so we used the “Ctrl +” keyboard shortcut twice to enlarge it. You may or may not experience similar text size results. Like any Tetris game things start out “quietly enough” but this one speeds up quickly, so be prepared! Notice that you do get a warning of what is waiting to drop onto the game board on the left side. Whenever you complete a game you will see this small window asking if you would like to enter a name for the score…you can easily ignore/bypass the window by clicking “Cancel”. Another game and a much better result. Do not be surprised if you feel that little burst of “rushed panic” at the end! Conclusion JC-Tetris is an enjoyable way to relax when you need a break. The ability to pause the game and minimize it for later makes it even better. Have fun! The Star Wars film franchise has had an enormous impact on the world of film, gaming, and special effects. Check out this interesting infographic to see how Star Wars has impacted the world. Created by Michelle Devereau, the “How Star Wars Changed the World” infographic is a massive under taking of charting and cross-referencing. It does an excellent job highlighting the impact the Star Wars films have had on film, television, gaming, and the surrounding technologies. At minimum you’ll nail down some new trivia (I learned, for example, that famed puppeteer and voice actor Frank Oz was the man behind Yoda), even better you’ll have an appreciate for what a sweeping effect Star Wars has had. • Sync Blocker Stops iTunes from Automatically Syncing

    - by ETC
If you’re looking to put a end to iTunes overly aggressive syncing, Sync Blocker is a free application that puts an end to automatic iTunes synchronization and keeps your iPad, iPhone, iPod, and iPod Touch data from being accidentally deleted. There are settings within iTunes you can toggle and even keyboard shortcuts you can use to temporarily suspend the syncing while mounting your iOS device. If you want to skip that hassle, however, and rest easy knowing that your iOS device will only be synced and updated when you give an explicit go ahead, Sync Blocker is a free application for both Windows and Mac OS X machines that completely blocks iTunes from syncing without your permission.
