    I'm attempting to use Panda with my GWT application. I can upload videos directly to my panda server using POST MY_PANDA_SERVER/videos/MY_VIDEO_ID/upload However I would like hide my panda server behind my J2EE (glassfish) server. I would like to achieve this: Start upload to some servlet on my J2EE server Authenticate user POST the file to my panda server while still uploading to servlet Ideally I would like to never store the file on the J2EE server, but just use it as a proxy to get to the panda server.

    First off, I'm using Google AppEngine and Guice, but I suspect my problem is not related to these. When the user connect to my (GWT) webapp, the URL is a direct html page. For example, in development mode, it is: http://127.0.0.1:8888/Puzzlebazar.html?gwt.codesvr=127.0.0.1:9997. When you right click and select view source in a page that is generated by JavaScript (e.g using GWT) you do not see the dynamically generated HTML. I suppose that if a search engine also cannot see the generated HTML then there is not much to index, right?

As I was reading through the internet...Iterators seem to not be serializable preventing me from sending them over to the client side from the server side.     Hi, I'm using GWT with GAE. When the user enters any of the following urls, I want to just serve my app as usual to them: http://www.mysite.com/ http://www.mysite.com/dog http://www.mysite.com/cat the first case works by default. I'm not sure how to get the /dog and /cat cases to work. I think I have to modify something with the url mappings to get that to work in web.xml. Essentially I'm trying to just get my app served with any url entered: http://www.mysite.com/* Thanks

    I have imported a GWT project from GIT , but when i run maven Install it says .m2\repository\commons-logging\commons-logging\1.1\commons-logging-1.1.jar; cannot read zip file entry and if i simply run my application , i get this \git\my-Search-Engine\qsse\war}: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/google/inject/servlet/GuiceServletContextListener I tried to find out the way , one solution i found was to move the guice-servlet-3.0 from build path to \qsse\war\webinf\lib but if i do that i start gettin the exception ava.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/google/inject/Injector any idea how can i resolve this

  • Windows 7 Virtual PC - &ldquo;RPC server unavailable&rdquo;

    I use Windows 7 Virtual PC on my current project and I often bring home the files, so I can work some in the evenings.  Since my VHDs are large, I’ll only copy the undo disks, saved state, and virtual machine config files from my external drive.  I copy them to a small portable drive and once I get home, I’ll copy them to a large external drive. I’ve done this for over a year, but recently I started getting an error when I tried to start the VPC after the copying was finished.  It would open the initial window with the progress bar, but eventually the bar would stop, turn red, and then the error “RPC server unavailable” would appear.  When I first started seeing these, I’d try again, but no luck. After some testing, it turns out that my small portable drive is apparently going bad, so it was corrupting the files.  Lucky for me, that I never overwrote my good copies with corrupted copies, at least not at both the office and at home.

    I hate software editors who pretend to know better what you need and choose for you. Java and c# pretend multiple inheritance is dangerous. That I agree I often use Interface but in some cases I may need multiple inheritance : why not let me choose ? Also today you have to choose between RPC call à la Java and Message passing à la Objective C. Again can't I choose when one or the other is more practical ? So is there any language on earth which will free me from what I want to choose to use dependending on MY context and MY own judgement ?

  • Does business logic belong in the service layer?

    I've got a set of classes, namely, a data transfer object, a service implementation object, and a data access object. I currently have business logic in the service implementation object; it uses the dao to get data to populate the dto that is shipped back to the client/gui code. The issue is that I can't create a lightweight junit test of the service implementtion object(it's a servlet); I think the business logic should be elsewhere, but the only thing I can think of is putting business logic in the dao or in yet another layer that goes between the dao and the service implementation. Are there other options, or am I thinking about this the wrong way? It's a GWT/App Engine project.

  • What's the best JSF implementation?

    Hey everyone, I currently have a medium size Java web application sitting on top of Spring MVC. As much as I like (no sarcasm) coding straight HTML, CSS and JS, it's not possible for me to develop as fast as I'd like. I'm looking at different RAD frameworks to speed up my development. I'm looking at JSF implementations and component libraries, Flex, GWT and a few others. As of now, Apache MyFaces (with ICEFaces) seems to be the front runner in my mind, but I'm curious to find out what you all think of that specific implementation and if the Sun implementation is any better? What's important to me is something that is stable, has an active community and that it doesn't look like there is another technology in the near future that is going to eclipse JSF (which would drive me to use a different RAD framework). Thanks in advance for the responses.
