• jsTree: Prevent before and after TYPE, only use inside

  I am using jsTree which is very nice. When dragging and dropping, I don't really care for the before and after types, I only want to use inside. Meaning, I am only concerned about that parent that a child is dropped into, rather than where the order is with other elements INSIDE the parent. So, I wanted to build my callback, so it always refers to the parent node that it is inside. • Infopath form publishing and root content type ?

  Hi, I have several infopath 2010 form template that I want to publish to a form library in SharePoint 2010 Server with enterprise CaL. All of this forms have a common part (a template part actually). Is it possible to define a common "parent" content type of this forms ? In fact, I want : Form content type (SP OOB) My root form content type, with standard columns "requester", "process name", etc. Form 1 Form 2 etc. other unrelated form 1 other unrelated form 2 Instead of the standard behavior : Form content type (SP OOB) Form 1 Form 2 other unrelated form 1 other unrelated form 2 etc. Behind this question I want to be able to create a dashboard of all form request using a content query web, by simply specifying the content type ... One last word: the idea is to allow a customer (assuming its knowledge is limited to IP 2010 basic form design). So I can't accept answers like "extract files, use a text editor and hack the xsf file"... thx in advance

  In entity framework I have an Entity 'Client' that was generated from a database. There is a property called 'Account' it is defined in the storage model as: <Property Name="Account" Type="char" Nullable="false" MaxLength="6" /> And in the Conceptual Model as: <Property Name="Account" Type="String" Nullable="false" /> When select statements are generated using a variable for Account i.e. where m.Account == myAccount... Entity Framework generates a paramaterized query with a paramater of type NVarchar(6). The problem is that the column in the table is data type of char(6). When this is executed there is a large performance hit because of the data type difference. Account is an index on the table and instead of using the index I believe an Index scan is done. Anyone know how to force EF to not use Unicode for the paramater and use Varchar(6) instead?

• Exception when programmatically copying content type

  Hi all: I'm getting exceptions when copying content type from one web to another: foreach (SPContentType destinationWebCt in destinationWeb.ContentTypes) { destinationWeb.ContentTypes.Add(existingWebCt); destinationWeb.Update(); } existingWebCt is the content type from another web e.g. /Site/Web. destinationWeb is the web that I wish to copy the content type to e.g. /Site/DestinationWeb. I got the SPException that says something like content type can not be added outside of its scope. Then I decided to replace all "ContentTypes" to "AvailableContentTypes", but then I got the SPException saying this collcetion could not be modified. So how can I copy a content type to another web? Thanks.

• How can I implement NotOfType<T> in LINQ that has a nice calling syntax?

  I'm trying to come up with an implementation for NotOfType, which has a readable call syntax. NotOfType should be the complement to OfType<T> and would consequently yield all elements that are not of type T My goal was to implement a method which would be called just like OfType<T>, like in the last line of this snippet: public abstract class Animal {} public class Monkey : Animal {} public class Giraffe : Animal {} public class Lion : Animal {} var monkey = new Monkey(); var giraffe = new Giraffe(); var lion = new Lion(); IEnumerable<Animal> animals = new Animal[] { monkey, giraffe, lion }; IEnumerable<Animal> fewerAnimals = animals.NotOfType<Giraffe>(); However, I can not come up with an implementation that supports that specific calling syntax. (I'm thinking that maybe one day we will have named type arguments, or that we only need to explicitly supply type arguments that can't be inferred?) Or am I just being silly?

  I hear that C isn't so type-safe and I think that I could use that as an advantage for my current project. I'm designing an interpreter with the goal for the VM to be extremely fast, much faster than Ruby and Python, for example. Now I know that premature optimization "is the root of all evil" but this is rather a conceptual problem. I have to use some sort of struct to represent all values in my language (from number over string to list and map) Would the following be possible? struct Value { ValueType type; void* value; } I would store the actual values elsewhere, e.g: a separate array for strings and integers, value* would then point to some member in this table. I would always know the type of the value via the type variable, so there wouldn't be any problems with type errors. Now: Is this even possible in terms of syntax and typing?

  I am implementing a single table inheritance inside Rails. Here is the corresponding migration: class CreateA < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up create_table :a do |t| t.string :type end end Class B inherits from A: class B < A end Now, it's easy to get all instances of class B: B.find(:all) or A.find_all_by_type("B") But how do I find all instances of class A (those that are not of type B)? Is this bad organization? I tried this: A.find_all_by_type("A") But instances of class A have a nil type. I could do A.find_all_by_type(nil) but this doesn't feel right, somehow. In particular, it would stop working if I decided to make A inherit from another class. Would it be more appropriate to define a default value for :type in the migration? Something like: t.string :type, :default => "A" Am I doing something wrong here?

• Is it possible for the Subversion Apache module to serve html files with an html content-type without using the svn:mime-type property?

  I am aware that if you set the svn:mime-type Subversion property on a .html file to text/html then when viewing the file in a browser through the Subversion module in Apache httpd it will be served with a Content-Type: text/html header, enabling the browser to render it as HTML rather than plain text. However, I am looking for a way to do this without using the svn:mime-type property. I'm aware that you can configure your svn client to automatically add the property - this is not what I want, as I do not want to ensure all users have these settings. I'm also aware that I could create a pre-commit hook that rejects the commit if the properties are not set, in order to force users to set the property - I might fall back to that, but I'm looking for something less intrusive. I'm also aware that I could use a post-commit hook to add the properties automatically on the server-side. I'd rather not do that (as users then have to update immediately after their commit, and it's not trivial to write) - I'm looking for a better alternative. Perhaps something with rewrite rules in the Apache server?

  Let's say I have an XML file that will look like this: <a> <b d="value1"/> <c d="value2"/> </a> In the XSD file that defines the structure of this XML file I defined the elements by name 'b' and 'c' to be of the same type (and the type requires attribute 'd'). Let's say that I want to make a keyReference of all elements of the type that both 'b' and 'c' are, is there any way in XPath to do this? At the definition of the type of 'a' I would expect something like this: <xs:keyref name="myReferenceName" refer="keyToReferTo"> <xs:selector xpath="[@type='typenameof elements b and c?']"/> <xs:field xpath="@d"/> </xs:keyref> Is something like this possible, or is XPath, even in the XSD, schema-unaware?

• GRUB reporting wrong partition type

  It all started when I had to replace one of the disks that the software RAID 1 on this machine currently uses. From that moment on I have not been able to boot to the Windows XP that is installed on the fourth hard drive, /dev/sdd. I am almost positive that the problem is related not to Windows but to GRUB, as if I unplug all the other hard drives so that the Windows XP disk is now /dev/sda it boots with no problem. The problem seems to be that GRUB detects a wrong partition type, which I understand suggest that something is really messed up. This is what I get when I try to follow the steps that until now had worked like a charm: grub> map (hd0) (hd3) grub> map (hd3) (hd0) grub> root (hd3,0) Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0xfd 0xfd?   Hi, Is there a way to provide AutoMapper with just a source and based on the specified mapping for the type of that source automatically determine what to map to?   I'm trying to create a function to parse out all values in a multidimensional Array with all but one dimension given. The details are not relevant, but for this function I need to return an one-dimensional Array containing values of the same type the original multidimensional Array has. To pass any Array with any dimension to my function, I declared the type of this parameter as Array. However, how would I create a new Array of that specific type (e.g. Integer)? Currently I have the following code: Function GetRow(ByVal arr As Array) As Array Dim result As (...) 'This should be Integer() if arr contains Integers, etc. Return result End Function How do I declare the type of result to make it having the same type of values as arr? • Content Types in browsers, can we use the Mime??

  Ok, I am wondering which mime types are dangerous in browsers? That is to say setting the Content Type to that mime type?? Which mime types, if any would pose a security risk?? I am noticing that many forum software, when uploading files, use the application/octet-stream for any files other than images and place that into the Content Type of the header. I am wondering why don't they place the actual mime-type instead into the Content Type? Are there security risks involved with this? So far I have used text/css, text/plain, audio/mpeg, and many others and haven't noticed any difference between application/octet-stream and these others. Does anyone out there know the exact difference, and what makes application/octet-stream any better, or any worse...to use for the Content Type?? Thank You :)

What i have so far: List<Type> list = new List<Type>(); list.Add(typeof(MyClass)); var obj = (MyClass)Activator.CreateInstance(list[0]); I would like to have some constrains on the Type, or better yet, just a generic type in the collection instead of an instantiated Type object. Is this possible?

Static coercions are not allowed on some types. Further type annotations are needed. I've tried annotating the function return type, but got the same result. I would hate to change this to a dynamic cast. Is there a way to make the static cast work?

• Auth-Type :- Reject in RADIUS users file matches inner tunnel request but sends Access-Accept

  I have WPA2 802.11x EAP authentication setup using FreeRADIUS 2.1.8 on Ubuntu 10.04.4 talking to OpenLDAP, and can successfully authenticate using PEAP/MSCHAPv2, TTLS/MSCHAPv2 and TTLS/PAP (both via the AP and using eapol_test). I am now trying to restrict access to specific SSIDs based on the LDAP groups which the user belongs to. I have configured group membership checking in /etc/freeradius/modules/ldap like so: groupname_attribute = cn groupmembership_filter = "(|(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(memberUid=%{User-Name}))(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(uniquemember=%{User-Name})))" and I have configured extraction of the SSID from Called-Station-Id into Called-Station-SSID based on the Mac Auth wiki page. In /etc/freeradius/eap.conf I have enabled copying attributes from the outer tunnel into the inner tunnel, and usage of the inner tunnel response in the outer tunnel (for both PEAP and TTLS). I had the same behaviour before changing these options however. copy_request_to_tunnel = yes use_tunneled_reply = yes I'm running eapol_test like this to test the setup: eapol_test -c peap-mschapv2.conf -a 172.16.0.16 -s testing123 -N 30:s:01-23-45-67-89-01:Example-EAP with the following peap-mschapv2.conf file: network={ ssid="Example-EAP" key_mgmt=WPA-EAP eap=PEAP identity="mgorven" anonymous_identity="anonymous" password="foobar" phase2="autheap=MSCHAPV2" } With the following in /etc/freeradius/users: DEFAULT Ldap-Group == "employees" and running freeradius-Xx, I can see that the LDAP group retrieval works, and that the SSID is extracted. Debug: [ldap] performing search in dc=example,dc=com, with filter (&(cn=employees)(|(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(memberUid=mgorven))(&(objectClass=posixGroup)(uniquemember=mgorven)))) Debug: rlm_ldap::ldap_groupcmp: User found in group employees ... Info: expand: %{7} -> Example-EAP Next I try to only allow access to users in the employees group (regardless of SSID), so I put the following in /etc/freeradius/users: DEFAULT Ldap-Group == "employees" DEFAULT Auth-Type := Reject But this immediately rejects the Access-Request in the outer tunnel because the anonymous user is not in the employees group. So I modify it to only match inner tunnel requests like so: DEFAULT Ldap-Group == "employees" DEFAULT FreeRADIUS-Proxied-To == "127.0.0.1" Auth-Type := Reject, Reply-Message = "User does not belong to any groups which may access this SSID." Now users which are in the employees group are authenticated, but so are users which are not in the employees group. I see the reject entry being matched, and the Reply-Message is set, but the client receives an Access-Accept. Debug: rlm_ldap::ldap_groupcmp: Group employees not found or user is not a member. • overriding enumeration base type using pragma or code change

  Problem: I am using a big C/C++ code base which works on gcc & visual studio compilers where enum base type is by default 32-bit(integer type). This code also has lots of inline + embedded assembly which treats enum as integer type and enum data is used as 32-bit flags in many cases. When compiled this code with realview ARM RVCT 2.2 compiler, we started getting many issues since realview compiler decides enum base type automatically based on the value an enum is set to. http://www.keil.com/support/man/docs/armccref/armccref_Babjddhe.htm For example, Consider the below enum, enum Scale { TimesOne, //0 TimesTwo, //1 TimesFour, //2 TimesEight, //3 }; This enum is used as a 32-bit flag. but compiler optimizes it to unsigned char type for this enum. Using --enum_is_int compiler option is not a good solution for our case, since it converts all the enum's to 32-bit which will break interaction with any external code compiled without --enum_is_int. This is warning i found in RVCT compilers & Library guide, The --enum_is_int option is not recommended for general use and is not required for ISO-compatible source. Code compiled with this option is not compliant with the ABI for the ARM Architecture (base standard) [BSABI], and incorrect use might result in a failure at runtime. This option is not supported by the C++ libraries. Question How to convert all enum's base type (by hand-coded changes) to use 32-bit without affecting value ordering? enum Scale { TimesOne=0x00000000, TimesTwo, // 0x00000001 TimesFour, // 0x00000002 TimesEight, //0x00000003 }; I tried the above change. But compiler optimizes this also for our bad luck. :( There is some syntax in .NET like enum Scale: int Is this a ISO C++ standard and ARM compiler lacks it? There is no #pragma to control this enum in ARM RVCT 2.2 compiler. Is there any hidden pragma available ?

  Hi, I'm working on a C# Webservice that needs to provide authentication as well as roles and profile management. I need each profile to have a property of type List. • Type error while trying to implement the (>>=) function in order to create a custom monad transforme

  Hello, I'm trying to create a monad transformer for a future project, but unfortunately, my implementation of the Monad typeclasse's (=) function doesn't work. First of all, here is the underlying monad's implementation : newtype Runtime a = R { unR :: State EInfo a } deriving (Monad) Here, the implementation of the Monad typeclasse is done automatically by GHC (using the GeneralizedNewtypeDeriving language pragma). The monad transformer is defined as so : newtype RuntimeT m a = RuntimeT { runRuntimeT :: m (Runtime a) } The problem comes from the way I instanciate the (=) function of the Monad typeclasse : instance (Monad m) => Monad (RuntimeT m) where return a = RuntimeT $ (return . return) a x >>= f = runRuntimeT x >>= id >>= f The way I see it, the first >>= runs in the underlying m monad. This value is the passed on to the function f of type f :: (Monad m) => a -> RuntimeT m b. And here comes the type problem : the f function's type doesn't match the type required by the (=) function. Jow can I make this coherent ? I can see why this doesn't work, but I can't manage to turn it into something functionnal. • Checking instance of non-class constrained type parameter for null in generic method

  I currently have a generic method where I want to do some validation on the parameters before working on them. Specifically, if the instance of the type parameter T is a reference type, I want to check to see if it's null and throw an ArgumentNullException if it's null. Something along the lines of: // This can be a method on a generic class, it does not matter. public void DoSomething<T>(T instance) { if (instance == null) throw new ArgumentNullException("instance"); Note, I do not wish to constrain my type parameter using the class constraint. I thought I could use Marc Gravell's answer on "How do I compare a generic type to its default value?", and use the EqualityComparer<T> class like so: static void DoSomething<T>(T instance) { if (EqualityComparer<T>.Default.Equals(instance, null)) throw new ArgumentNullException("instance"); But it gives a very ambiguous error on the call to Equals: Member 'object.Equals(object, object)' cannot be accessed with an instance reference; qualify it with a type name instead How can I check an instance of T against null when T is not constrained on being a value or reference type?

• Does "delegate" mean a type or an object?

  Reading from MSDN: "A delegate is a type that references a method. Once a delegate is assigned a method, it behaves exactly like that method." Does then "delegate" mean a type or an object?! ...It cannot be both. It seems to me that the single word is used in two different meanings: a type containing a reference to a method of some specified signature, an object of that type, which can be actually called like a method. I would prefer a more precise vocabulary and use "delegate type" for the first case. I have been recently reading a lot about events and delegates and that ambiguity was making me confused many times. Some other uses of "delegate" word in MSDN in the first meaning: "Custom event delegates are needed only when an event generates event data" "A delegate declaration defines a class that is derived from the class System.Delegate" Some other uses of "delegate" word in MSDN in the second meaning: "specify a delegate that will be called upon the occurrence of some event" "Delegates are objects that refer to methods. They are sometimes described as type-safe function pointers" What do you think? Why did people from Microsoft introduced this ambiguity? Am I the only person to have conceptual problems with different notions being referenced with the same word.
