  • jquery ajax call errors in chrome onenter with no responseText

    - by wham12
    I've built a login page that uses a .ajax call to a generic c# handler (.ashx) to validate the username and password before allowing the user to log in. If you click on the login link <a href="#" class="ui-state-default ui-corner-all CustomButton" onclick="goLogin();return false"> the .ajax call returns successfully and it logs the user in. I am trying to make it so the user can also just press the "enter" key from the password box: $("#pword").keydown(function(e) { if (e.keyCode == 13) { goLogin(); } }); Using Firefox, both ways work just fine and the user is logged in. With Chrome however, pressing "enter" hits the error function of my .ajax call and will not log the user in. The parameters and responses look identical through Firefox's console, as expected. What would be causing this and/or how can I debug it in Chrome?

  • AJAX form sections - how to pass url of next stage of form

    - by dan727
    Hi, I've got a multi-part form (in a PHP MVC setup) which I have working correctly without javascript enhancement. I'm starting to add the AJAX form handling code which will handle each stage of a form submission, validating/saving data etc, before using AJAX to load the next stage of the form. I'm wondering how best to pass the URL of the next stage to the current form being processed, so that my jQuery form handling code can process the current form, then load the next part via AJAX. The form "action" is different from what the url of the next stage of the form is - what do you think would be good practice here? I was thinking about either appending the url of the next stage to the form action url, via a query string - then just use javascript to extract this url when the form is successfully processed. The other option is via a hidden form element. Not sure what other client side options I have here Any thoughts?

  • how do i specify the element when loading content ajax jquery

    - by phukkie
    How can I specify an element where the content is to be retrieved from within the pageurl in the code below? $(function () { $("a[rel='sort']").click(function (e) { //e.preventDefault(); /* if uncomment the above line, html5 nonsupported browers won't change the url but will display the ajax content; if commented, html5 nonsupported browers will reload the page to the specified link. */ //get the link location that was clicked pageurl = $(this).attr('href'); //to get the ajax content and display in div with id 'content' $.ajax({ url: pageurl + '?rel=sort', success: function (data) { $('#content1').html(data); } }); //to change the browser URL to 'pageurl' if (pageurl != window.location) { window.history.pushState({ path: pageurl }, '', pageurl); } return false; }); });

  • Put specific tds from a table row into edit using jQuery (then update w/ ajax)

    - by bbqsauced
    I'm somewhat new to jQuery, so I could use some help here. This is my issue: I have a php script outputting a dynamic table. Each row has an "edit" button, plus some other fields. Only 3 of those need to be turned into an input box. The edit button should only put that specific row into "edit mode." I got as far as assigning each row a unique class by adding a number to the end of it. I have been able to use jQuery to change all of the rows into edit mode, but I need it to be specific to a row. An example row would have classes like name0, price0, and desc0. The next row would go on to classes name1, price1, and desc1 (for the fields that need changed). How can I reference these values and pass them to jQuery so it processes an event on just those elements?

  • jQuery - now: Creating an object and storing values in it to pass to an AJAX call

    - by Josh K
    I have an array: myarr = []; I'm filling it with some values: myarray['name'] = "Me!"; Now I want to transform that array into a set of Key = Value pairs. I though jQuery would do it automatically, but it doesn't seem to. $.ajax ({ type: "POST", dataType: "text", url: "myurl", data: myarr }); Is there a way to do this or something I'm doing wrong? I get no javascript errors, and no serverside errors other then no POST information at all. I need the request to be sent as a true POST request. I need to keep the php code simple because sometimes the login won't be an AJAX call. I'm now trying the following with an error unexepected token ':' myarr: { 'name':'me' } The question has now become: How do I initialize a new javascript object as "blank", how do I set up mappings, and how do I pass it in an AJAX call?

  • Submit form if ajax validator returns true using jquery

    - by Anthony
    I am not sure where I'm going wrong. The idea is that before the form is submitted, one of the input fields is sent to a server-side validator via ajax. If the response is 1, the input is valid and the form should be submitted. If the response is 0, the form should not be submitted. The issue is that I can't figure out how to set a variable within the ajax request function that will prevent the form from being submitted. This is what I have: $("#form").submit(function() { var valid= false; var input = $("#input").val(); $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "validator.php", data: "input=" + input, success: function(msg){ valid = (msg == 1) ? true : false; if(!valid) { $("#valid_input").html("Please enter valid info"); } else { $("#valid_input").html(""); } } }); return valid; });

  • AJAX with jQuery not returning data

    - by James P
    This is my Javascript: $(document).ready(function() { $('#like').bind('keydown', function(e) { if(e.keyCode == 13) { var likeMsg = $('#like').val(); if(likeMsg) { // Send the AJAX request to like.php $.ajax({ url: 'like.php', success: function(data) { alert('Content: ' + data); } }); } } }); }); And this is my like.php file: <?php echo "It works! :)"; ?> When I press enter on the #like input, it seems the AJAX request is sent and an alert box comes up saying: Content:, but there's no data being sent back from like.php... I have checked if the file exists and if it's in the same directory and whatever and it is, so I'm pretty much clueless atm. Does anyone know what could be wrong here? Cheers.

  • Simple Sinatra Ajax Not Working

    - by proteantech
    I was trying make an AJAX call from a static file on my computer to a simple sinatra service. The ajax call was returning with an error and no details. The server logged no errors either. Another strange symptom was that the Origin in the request header was null. I turns out that you can't make cross domain ajax calls without a little extra effort. You can set the Access-Control-Allow-Origin header on your sinatra response to expose your service to external domains using a snippet like this: get '/hi' do response['Access-Control-Allow-Origin'] = '*' content_type 'text/plain' "Hello World" end There's also another header you can set to allow other HTTP Methods besides gets, Access-Control-Request-Method. You can find more information by searching around for CORS: Cross Origin Resource Sharing and the previously mentioned headers. Oh, and in case you want to do this in Rails as well you can do something like this in your controller: after_filter :set_access_control_headers def set_access_control_headers headers['Access-Control-Allow-Origin'] = '*' headers['Access-Control-Request-Method'] = '*' end

  • JQUERY, AutoSuggest that doesn't kill the Server on ever keyup

    - by nobosh
    I'm working to build a JQUERY enabled AutoSuggest plugin, inspired by Apple's spotlight. Here is the general code: $(document).ready(function() { $('#q').bind('keyup', function() { if( $(this).val().length == 0) { // Hide the q-suggestions box $('#q-suggestions').fadeOut(); } else { // Show the AJAX Spinner $("#q").css("background-image","url(/images/ajax-loader.gif)"); $.ajax({ url: '/search/spotlight/', data: {"q": $(this).val()}, success: function(data) { $('#q-suggestions').fadeIn(); // Show the q-suggestions box $('#q-suggestions').html(data); // Fill the q-suggestions box // Hide the AJAX Spinner $("#q").css("background-image","url(/images/icon-search.gif)"); } }); } }); The issue I want to solve well & elegantly, is not killing the sever. Right now the code above hits the server every time you type a key and does not wait for you to essentially finish typing. What's the best way to solve this? A. Kill previous AJAX request? B. Some type of AJAX caching? C. Adding some type of delay to only submit .AJAX() when the person has stopped typing for 300ms or so? Thanks

  • jQuery aspx error function always called, even with apparently valid return data

    - by M Katz
    I am making an ajax call using jQuery (jquery-1.5.2.min.js). The server receives the call. fiddler shows the response text coming back apparently correct. But back in javascript my error: function is called instead of my success: function, and the data of the parameters to the error function don't give much clue as to the problem. Here's the function where I make the initial call: function SelectCBGAtClickedPoint() { $.ajax( { type: "GET", dataType: "text", url: "http://localhost/ajax/SelectCBGAtPoint/1/2", success: function( msg ) { alert( "success: " + msg ); }, error: function( jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown ) { alert( "error: " + jqXHR + textStatus + errorThrown ); } } ); } Here's the function where I handle the call in my cherrypy server code: def ajax( ajax, *args ): with lock: print "ajax request received: " + str( args ) cherrypy.response.headers[ "Content-Type" ] = "application/text" return "{ x: 0 }" Cherrypy is an odd beast, and I was thinking the problem must lie there. But as I say, I see both the query go out and the response come back in Fiddler. Here is what Fiddler shows as the raw view of the response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Mon, 11 Apr 2011 17:49:25 GMT Content-Length: 8 Content-Type: application/text Server: CherryPy/3.2.0 { x: 0 } Looks good, but then back in javascript, I get into the error: function, with the following values for the parameters (as shown in firebug): errorThrown = "" jqXHR = Object { readyState=0, status=0, statusText="error"} statusText = "error" I don't know where that word "error" is coming from. That string does not appear anywhere in my cherrypy server code. Note that even though I'm returning a JSON string I've set the send and receive types to "text" for now, just to simplify in order to isolate the problem. Any ideas why I'm getting this "error" reply, even when errorThrown is empty? Could it be that I haven't properly "initialized" either jQuery or jQuery.ajax?

  • jQuery Selector Tester and Cheat Sheet

    - by SGWellens
    I've always appreciated these tools: Expresso and XPath Builder. They make designing regular expressions and XPath selectors almost fun! Did I say fun? I meant less painful. Being able to paste/load text and then interactively play with the search criteria is infinitely better than the code/compile/run/test cycle. It's faster and you get a much better feel for how the expressions work. So, I decided to make my own interactive tool to test jQuery selectors:  jQuery Selector Tester.   Here's a sneak peek: Note: There are some existing tools you may like better: http://www.woods.iki.fi/interactive-jquery-tester.html http://www.w3schools.com/jquery/trysel.asp?filename=trysel_basic&jqsel=p.intro,%23choose My tool is different: It is one page. You can save it and run it locally without a Web Server. It shows the results as a list of iterated objects instead of highlighted html. A cheat sheet is on the same page as the tester which is handy. I couldn't upload an .htm or .html file to this site so I hosted it on my personal site here: jQuery Selector Tester. Design Highlights: To make the interactive search work, I added a hidden div to the page: <!--Hidden div holds DOM elements for jQuery to search--><div id="HiddenDiv" style="display: none"></div> When ready to search, the searchable html text is copied into the hidden div…this renders the DOM tree in the hidden div: // get the html to search, insert it to the hidden divvar Html = $("#TextAreaHTML").val();$("#HiddenDiv").html(Html); When doing a search, I modify the search pattern to look only in the HiddenDiv. To do that, I put a space between the patterns.  The space is the Ancestor operator (see the Cheat Sheet): // modify search string to only search in our// hidden div and do the searchvar SearchString = "#HiddenDiv " + SearchPattern;try{    var $FoundItems = $(SearchString);}   Big Fat Stinking Faux Pas: I was about to publish this article when I made a big mistake: I tested the tool with Mozilla FireFox. It blowed up…it blowed up real good. In the past I’ve only had to target IE so this was quite a revelation. When I started to learn JavaScript, I was disgusted to see all the browser dependent code. Who wants to spend their time testing against different browsers and versions of browsers? Adding a bunch of ‘if-else’ code is a tedious and thankless task. I avoided client code as much as I could. Then jQuery came along and all was good. It was browser independent and freed us from the tedium of worrying about version N of the Acme browser. Right? Wrong! I had used outerHTML to display the selected elements. The problem is Mozilla FireFox doesn’t implement outerHTML. I replaced this: // encode the html markupvar OuterHtml = $('<div/>').text(this.outerHTML).html(); With this: // encode the html markupvar Html = $('<div>').append(this).html();var OuterHtml = $('<div/>').text(Html).html(); Another problem was that Mozilla FireFox doesn’t implement srcElement. I replaced this: var Row = e.srcElement.parentNode;  With this: var Row = e.target.parentNode; Another problem was the indexing. The browsers have different ways of indexing. I replaced this: // this cell has the search pattern  var Cell = Row.childNodes[1];   // put the pattern in the search box and search                    $("#TextSearchPattern").val(Cell.innerText);  With this: // get the correct cell and the text in the cell// place the text in the seach box and serachvar Cell = $(Row).find("TD:nth-child(2)");var CellText = Cell.text();$("#TextSearchPattern").val(CellText);   So much for the myth of browser independence. Was I overly optimistic and gullible? I don’t think so. And when I get my millions from the deposed Nigerian prince I sent money to, you’ll see that having faith is not futile. Notes: My goal was to have a single standalone file. I tried to keep the features and CSS to a minimum–adding only enough to make it useful and visually pleasing. When testing, I often thought there was a problem with the jQuery selector. Invariable it was invalid html code. If your results aren't what you expect, don't assume it's the jQuery selector pattern: The html may be invalid. To help in development and testing, I added a double-click handler to the rows in the Cheat Sheet table. If you double-click a row, the search pattern is put in the search box, a search is performed and the page is scrolled so you can see the results. I left the test html and code in the page. If you are using a CDN (non-local) version of the jQuery libraray, the designer in Visual Studio becomes extremely slow.  That's why there are two version of the library in the header and one is commented out. For reference, here is the jQuery documentation on selectors: http://api.jquery.com/category/selectors/ Here is a much more comprehensive list of CSS selectors (which jQuery uses): http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS2/selector.html I hope someone finds this useful. Please help me! $(".img img").each(function() { $(this).cjObjectScaler({ destElem: $(this).parent(), method: "fit" }); }); the cjObjectScaler script (called in the html header) is this: (thanks for Doug Jones) (function ($) { jQuery.fn.imagesLoaded = function (callback) { var elems = this.filter('img'), len = elems.length; elems.bind('load', function () { if (--len <= 0) { callback.call(elems, this); } }).each(function () { // cached images don't fire load sometimes, so we reset src. if (this.complete || this.complete === undefined) { var src = this.src; // webkit hack from http://groups.google.com/group/jquery-dev/browse_thread/thread/eee6ab7b2da50e1f this.src = '#'; this.src = src; } }); }; })(jQuery); /* CJ Object Scaler */ (function ($) { jQuery.fn.cjObjectScaler = function (options) { /* user variables (settings) ***************************************/ var settings = { // must be a jQuery object method: "fill", // the parent object to scale our object into destElem: null, // fit|fill fade: 0 // if positive value, do hide/fadeIn }; /* system variables ***************************************/ var sys = { // function parameters version: '2.1.1', elem: null }; /* scale the image ***************************************/ function scaleObj(obj) { // declare some local variables var destW = jQuery(settings.destElem).width(), destH = jQuery(settings.destElem).height(), ratioX, ratioY, scale, newWidth, newHeight, borderW = parseInt(jQuery(obj).css("borderLeftWidth"), 10) + parseInt(jQuery(obj).css("borderRightWidth"), 10), borderH = parseInt(jQuery(obj).css("borderTopWidth"), 10) + parseInt(jQuery(obj).css("borderBottomWidth"), 10), objW = jQuery(obj).width(), objH = jQuery(obj).height(); // check for valid border values. IE takes in account border size when calculating width/height so just set to 0 borderW = isNaN(borderW) ? 0 : borderW; borderH = isNaN(borderH) ? 0 : borderH; // calculate scale ratios ratioX = destW / jQuery(obj).width(); ratioY = destH / jQuery(obj).height(); // Determine which algorithm to use if (!jQuery(obj).hasClass("cf_image_scaler_fill") && (jQuery(obj).hasClass("cf_image_scaler_fit") || settings.method === "fit")) { scale = ratioX < ratioY ? ratioX : ratioY; } else if (!jQuery(obj).hasClass("cf_image_scaler_fit") && (jQuery(obj).hasClass("cf_image_scaler_fill") || settings.method === "fill")) { scale = ratioX < ratioY ? ratioX : ratioY; } // calculate our new image dimensions newWidth = parseInt(jQuery(obj).width() * scale, 10) - borderW; newHeight = parseInt(jQuery(obj).height() * scale, 10) - borderH; // Set new dimensions & offset jQuery(obj).css({ "width": newWidth + "px", "height": newHeight + "px"//, // "position": "absolute", // "top": (parseInt((destH - newHeight) / 2, 10) - parseInt(borderH / 2, 10)) + "px", // "left": (parseInt((destW - newWidth) / 2, 10) - parseInt(borderW / 2, 10)) + "px" }).attr({ "width": newWidth, "height": newHeight }); // do our fancy fade in, if user supplied a fade amount if (settings.fade > 0) { jQuery(obj).fadeIn(settings.fade); } } /* set up any user passed variables ***************************************/ if (options) { jQuery.extend(settings, options); } /* main ***************************************/ return this.each(function () { sys.elem = this; // if they don't provide a destObject, use parent if (settings.destElem === null) { settings.destElem = jQuery(sys.elem).parent(); } // need to make sure the user set the parent's position. Things go bonker's if not set. // valid values: absolute|relative|fixed if (jQuery(settings.destElem).css("position") === "static") { jQuery(settings.destElem).css({ "position": "relative" }); } // if our object to scale is an image, we need to make sure it's loaded before we continue. if (typeof sys.elem === "object" && typeof settings.destElem === "object" && typeof settings.method === "string") { // if the user supplied a fade amount, hide our image if (settings.fade > 0) { jQuery(sys.elem).hide(); } if (sys.elem.nodeName === "IMG") { // to fix the weird width/height caching issue we set the image dimensions to be auto; jQuery(sys.elem).width("auto"); jQuery(sys.elem).height("auto"); // wait until the image is loaded before scaling jQuery(sys.elem).imagesLoaded(function () { scaleObj(this); }); } else { scaleObj(jQuery(sys.elem)); } } else { console.debug("CJ Object Scaler could not initialize."); return; } }); }; })(jQuery);

  • Ajax loaded content , jquery plugins not working

    - by Sylph
    Hello, I have a link that calls the ajax to load content, and after the content is loaded, my jquery function doesn't work anymore Here is my HTML <a href="#" onclick="javascript:makeRequest('content.html','');">Load Content</a> <span id="result"> <table id="myTable" valign="top" class="tablesorter"> <thead> <tr> <th>Title 1</th> <th>Level 1</th> <th>Topics</th> <th>Resources</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>Example title 1</td> <td>Example level 1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Example title 2</td> <td>Example level 2</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </span> The table is sorted using jquery table sorter plugin from http://tablesorter.com/docs/ After the ajax content is loaded, another set of table with different data will be displayed. However, the sorting doesn't work anymore. Here is my ajax script which is use to load the content : var http_request = false; function makeRequest(url, parameters) { http_request = false; if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { // Mozilla, Safari,... http_request = new XMLHttpRequest(); if (http_request.overrideMimeType) { // set type accordingly to anticipated content type //http_request.overrideMimeType('text/xml'); http_request.overrideMimeType('text/html'); } } else if (window.ActiveXObject) { // IE try { http_request = new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP"); } catch (e) { try { http_request = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } catch (e) {} } } if (!http_request) { alert('Cannot create XMLHTTP instance'); return false; } http_request.onreadystatechange = alertContents; http_request.open('GET', url + parameters, true); http_request.send(null); } function alertContents() { if (http_request.readyState == 4) { // alert(http_request.status); if (http_request.status == 200) { //alert(http_request.responseText); result = http_request.responseText; document.getElementById('result').innerHTML = result; } else { alert('There was a problem with the request.'); } } } Any idea how I can get the jquery plugins to work after the content is loaded? I have searched and changed the jquery.tablesorter.js click function into live() like this $headers.live("click",function(e) but it doesn't work as well. How can I make the jquery functions to work after the content is loaded? Thank you

  • June 2013 Release of the Ajax Control Toolkit

    - by Stephen.Walther
    I’m happy to announce the June 2013 release of the Ajax Control Toolkit. For this release, we enhanced the AjaxFileUpload control to support uploading files directly to Windows Azure. We also improved the SlideShow control by adding support for CSS3 animations. You can get the latest release of the Ajax Control Toolkit by visiting the project page at CodePlex (http://AjaxControlToolkit.CodePlex.com). Alternatively, you can execute the following NuGet command from the Visual Studio Library Package Manager window: Uploading Files to Azure The AjaxFileUpload control enables you to efficiently upload large files and display progress while uploading. With this release, we’ve added support for uploading large files directly to Windows Azure Blob Storage (You can continue to upload to your server hard drive if you prefer). Imagine, for example, that you have created an Azure Blob Storage container named pictures. In that case, you can use the following AjaxFileUpload control to upload to the container: <toolkit:ToolkitScriptManager runat="server" /> <toolkit:AjaxFileUpload ID="AjaxFileUpload1" StoreToAzure="true" AzureContainerName="pictures" runat="server" /> Notice that the AjaxFileUpload control is declared with two properties related to Azure. The StoreToAzure property causes the AjaxFileUpload control to upload a file to Azure instead of the local computer. The AzureContainerName property points to the blob container where the file is uploaded. .int3{position:absolute;clip:rect(487px,auto,auto,444px);}SMALL cash advance VERY CHEAP To use the AjaxFileUpload control, you need to modify your web.config file so it contains some additional settings. You need to configure the AjaxFileUpload handler and you need to point your Windows Azure connection string to your Blob Storage account. <configuration> <appSettings> <!--<add key="AjaxFileUploadAzureConnectionString" value="UseDevelopmentStorage=true"/>--> <add key="AjaxFileUploadAzureConnectionString" value="DefaultEndpointsProtocol=https;AccountName=testact;AccountKey=RvqL89Iw4npvPlAAtpOIPzrinHkhkb6rtRZmD0+ojZupUWuuAVJRyyF/LIVzzkoN38I4LSr8qvvl68sZtA152A=="/> </appSettings> <system.web> <compilation debug="true" targetFramework="4.5" /> <httpRuntime targetFramework="4.5" /> <httpHandlers> <add verb="*" path="AjaxFileUploadHandler.axd" type="AjaxControlToolkit.AjaxFileUploadHandler, AjaxControlToolkit"/> </httpHandlers> </system.web> <system.webServer> <validation validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false" /> <handlers> <add name="AjaxFileUploadHandler" verb="*" path="AjaxFileUploadHandler.axd" type="AjaxControlToolkit.AjaxFileUploadHandler, AjaxControlToolkit"/> </handlers> <security> <requestFiltering> <requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="4294967295"/> </requestFiltering> </security> </system.webServer> </configuration> You supply the connection string for your Azure Blob Storage account with the AjaxFileUploadAzureConnectionString property. If you set the value “UseDevelopmentStorage=true” then the AjaxFileUpload will upload to the simulated Blob Storage on your local machine. After you create the necessary configuration settings, you can use the AjaxFileUpload control to upload files directly to Azure (even very large files). Here’s a screen capture of how the AjaxFileUpload control appears in Google Chrome: After the files are uploaded, you can view the uploaded files in the Windows Azure Portal. You can see that all 5 files were uploaded successfully: New AjaxFileUpload Events In response to user feedback, we added two new events to the AjaxFileUpload control (on both the server and the client): · UploadStart – Raised on the server before any files have been uploaded. · UploadCompleteAll – Raised on the server when all files have been uploaded. · OnClientUploadStart – The name of a function on the client which is called before any files have been uploaded. · OnClientUploadCompleteAll – The name of a function on the client which is called after all files have been uploaded. These new events are most useful when uploading multiple files at a time. The updated AjaxFileUpload sample page demonstrates how to use these events to show the total amount of time required to upload multiple files (see the AjaxFileUpload.aspx file in the Ajax Control Toolkit sample site). SlideShow Animated Slide Transitions With this release of the Ajax Control Toolkit, we also added support for CSS3 animations to the SlideShow control. The animation is used when transitioning from one slide to another. Here’s the complete list of animations: · FadeInFadeOut · ScaleX · ScaleY · ZoomInOut · Rotate · SlideLeft · SlideDown You specify the animation which you want to use by setting the SlideShowAnimationType property. For example, here is how you would use the Rotate animation when displaying a set of slides: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="ShowSlideShow.aspx.cs" Inherits="TestACTJune2013.ShowSlideShow" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="toolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" %> <script runat="Server" type="text/C#"> [System.Web.Services.WebMethod] [System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptMethod] public static AjaxControlToolkit.Slide[] GetSlides() { return new AjaxControlToolkit.Slide[] { new AjaxControlToolkit.Slide("slides/Blue hills.jpg", "Blue Hills", "Go Blue"), new AjaxControlToolkit.Slide("slides/Sunset.jpg", "Sunset", "Setting sun"), new AjaxControlToolkit.Slide("slides/Winter.jpg", "Winter", "Wintery..."), new AjaxControlToolkit.Slide("slides/Water lilies.jpg", "Water lillies", "Lillies in the water"), new AjaxControlToolkit.Slide("slides/VerticalPicture.jpg", "Sedona", "Portrait style picture") }; } </script> <!DOCTYPE html> <html > <head runat="server"> <title></title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <toolkit:ToolkitScriptManager ID="ToolkitScriptManager1" runat="server" /> <asp:Image ID="Image1" Height="300" Runat="server" /> <toolkit:SlideShowExtender ID="SlideShowExtender1" TargetControlID="Image1" SlideShowServiceMethod="GetSlides" AutoPlay="true" Loop="true" SlideShowAnimationType="Rotate" runat="server" /> </div> </form> </body> </html> In the code above, the set of slides is exposed by a page method named GetSlides(). The SlideShowAnimationType property is set to the value Rotate. The following animated GIF gives you an idea of the resulting slideshow: If you want to use either the SlideDown or SlideRight animations, then you must supply both an explicit width and height for the Image control which is the target of the SlideShow extender. For example, here is how you would declare an Image and SlideShow control to use a SlideRight animation: <toolkit:ToolkitScriptManager ID="ToolkitScriptManager1" runat="server" /> <asp:Image ID="Image1" Height="300" Width="300" Runat="server" /> <toolkit:SlideShowExtender ID="SlideShowExtender1" TargetControlID="Image1" SlideShowServiceMethod="GetSlides" AutoPlay="true" Loop="true" SlideShowAnimationType="SlideRight" runat="server" /> Notice that the Image control includes both a Height and Width property. Here’s an approximation of this animation using an animated GIF: Summary The Superexpert team worked hard on this release. We hope you like the new improvements to both the AjaxFileUpload and the SlideShow controls. We’d love to hear your feedback in the comments. On to the next sprint!
