• Multiline Equation won't center and align on equals sign

  I have a multiline equation which I wish to align on the '=' and center the equation block on the page. I have selected align on '=' and center as a group, however the equation group becomes left justified on the page (and aligned on the =). No matter what I do I cannot get it to concurrently center the group on the page and also align on the '='. Does anyone know what setting at what level would cause this type of behavior? (I'm using MS Word 2011 on OS X 10.8)

• Using SDL Tridion 2011 Core Service to create Components programatically

  I have seen some of the questions/answers related to this topic here, however still I am not getting the suggestion which I want. So I am posting my question again here, and I would be thankful for your valuable time and answers. I would like to create “Component, Page, SG, Publication, Folders “ via programmatically in SDL Tridion Content Manager, and later on, I would like to add programmatically created components in Page and attach CT,PT for that page, and finally would like to publish the page programmatically. I have done these all the activities in SDL Tridion 2009 using TOM API (Interop DLL's), and I tried these activities in SDL Tridion 2011 using TOM.Net API. It was not working and later on I came to know that, TOM.Net API will not support these kinds of works and it is specifically only for Templates and Event System. And finally I came to know I have to go for Core services to do these kinds of stuffs. My Questions: When I create console application to create component programmatically using core service, what are the DLL’s I have to add as reference? Earlier, I have created the exe and ran in the TCM server, the exe created all the stuffs, can I used the same approach using core services too? Will it work? Is BC still available or Core Service replaced BC? (BC-Business Connector) Can anyone send some code snippet to create Component/Page (complete class file will be helpful to understand better) Thanks Jai

• SBS2003 to SBS2011 Migration - Installation Error

  Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 to 2011 Migration. I followed the Migration Guide from Microsoft and the source server had no errors when running the various tests prior to the migration. I have completed the destination server setup using the Answer File and the server is up and running. It all looks good, I can access Exchange and AD and the only problem is the error message when you log in stating that the setup did not complete and to check the logs. Because all looks good I am continuing the migration to the destination server. I also have to state that this client does not use Sharepoint at all. Do I have to redo everything? • OpenVPN on ec2 bridged mode connects but no Ping, DNS or forwarding

  I am trying to use OpenVPN to access the internet over a secure connection. I have openVPN configured and running on Amazon EC2 in bridge mode with client certs. • Why did my RWA Computers gadget stop working?

  Our company has SBS 2011 and the "Computers" gadget in Remote Web Access has suddenly stopped working. The below error appears in place of the list of computers: "There was a problem loading a gadget. Contact the person who manages your server." There hasn't been any recent changes to the server that I know of. Also, when I go to SBS standard console and go to properties of a user to view the list of computers the user has access to it says "querying..." instead of a list of computers. Any troubleshooting tips? Can't seem to figure out what is going on. I've tried restarting the server and poking around in the event logs and I couldn't find anything wrong. Update 1: I came across another error when viewing properties for a user through the SBS standard console. "There is no such object on the server."

• migrate SharePoint to SBS Server

  We have a SharePoint 2003 server and we need to migrate that data to SharePoint 2011 on a SBS server. We cannot use the migration tool because one of the servers is SBS and the other is not. We exported the SharePoint data from the old system, but the import to the SBS SharePoint is failing with very little info on why. I think that there is a schema conflict, but I am not that familiar with SBS and I am not finding the error in the Windows logs. Has anyone had to migrate data from non-SBS system to an SBS system? Or can anyone help me figure out where to look for more info on what is going on?

Began having a tremedous amount of problems with our brand new Dell SBS 2011 T310 server and after nearly 15 hours will Dell support, they determined that the server name hade reverted to DXXXXXXXX ("D: + the service tag). The Dell tech said that this was a major major problem. I'm the only person with any access to the machine and I didn't attempt to change the server name. The tech said it didn't look as if anyone had hacked the box but something had replaced "OurCompanyServer" with "DXX12XX" It would seem to me, simply changing the server name back to what I originally had would correct the problem, but the Dell tech said it wasn't that easy. Anyone encounter this?

• Exchange over HTTP

  I have recently setup a brand new install of SBS 2011 and it is working well. Exchange is running as advertised and all users are happy. Now, there are 2 users who would like to work outside of the office and require email setting up in Outlook. No problem - Exchange over HTTP. However for some reason it's not working. They can access Outlook Web Access okay, but for some reason Exchange over HTTP / HTTPS isn't working. The error message I receive in Outlook is: "The name cannot be resolved. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." I've tried temporarily turning off the Firewall on both the server and the client but this doesn't help at all. Is there something I'm missing or is there a permission that needs enabling to allow Exchange over HTTP to work?? Many thanks

• Exchange 2010: Import a PST when Local Move Request fails

  So the trail of tears continues with my SBS 2003 to 2011 migration: all the mailboxes have moved mailbox store from OLDSERVER to NEWSERVER, with the Local Move Requests completing successfully, except for one. I've logged into their machine and have exported their mailbox as a PST. I'm about to import it, but it seems to me that because the mailbox is still on OLDSERVER, even with a new Outlook profile pointing to NEWSERVER in Outlook, it'll push the mail into the current mailbox store on the old server. Please tell me I don't have to blow away her existing mailbox, logon, etc. on the old SBSERVER: is there a way to change the state from "Legacy" to "User Mailbox" without actually moving the mailbox store? Create a new mailbox for her user in NEWSERVER?

• HP DL380 Losing Drive Array

  I have an HP Proliant DG380 G7 dropping one of it's arrays every hour, on the hour, for 2-5 minutes. The OS is SBS 2011 Standard, the servers runs Exchange, DC, files & Trend WFBS 8. I can watch the D Drive disappear for the duration of the problem - then it just comes back up and all is well again. There is no loss of network connectivity, although the mapped drives also disappear. We thought it might be to do with Sharepoint / VSS writers failing but it looks as though this is a symptom rather than cause. It survives a reboot. Any ideas as to what could be running on a regular schedule like this?

• Thoughts on ODTUG Kscope12

  The rodeo rocked! This wasn’t my first rodeo, and it wasn’t my first Kscope, but it was probably my favorite one. What is Kscope? It’s the annual conference for the Oracle Development Tools User Group. 1,000+ attendees from 20+ countries with an average Jeff Klout score of 65. I just made that metric and score up, but this conference attracts the best and brightest in the Oracle database space. I’m not just talking about the speakers either. The attendees are all top notch. They actively participate in sessions, make an effort to get to know their fellow conference mates, and often turn into volunteers and speakers. Developers that enjoy unit testing, understand the importance of modeling your data, and are eager to understand the Oracle CBO – these are traits that describe the ‘average’ ODTUG developer. 2012′s event was held in San Antonio. Yes, it was very hot. But this might have been the nicest Marriott property I’ve ever visited, and I’ve stayed at some nice ones in Hawaii and St. Thomas. They had free WiFi everywhere – the rooms, the Conference Center, the lobby, bars, everywhere. And it worked. The after hours events were very fun. I embarrassed myself several times, but that’s OK. The rodeo was an awesome event and the Thirsty Games experience was something I hope does not make it onto YouTube or Facebook — talking to you Chet Justice. I finally got to meet and spend some time with some folks I’ve always wanted to get to know better, @timothyjgorman, @alexgorbachev, @lj_dobson, @dschleis, @kentGraziano, @chriscmuir, @GaloBalda, @patch72, and many, many more! I even made some new friends thanks to the Mentor program and @carol_finn. 2013′s event will be in New Orleans. If you haven’t joined ODTUG or haven’t made it to Kscope, go ahead and mark your calendars. I had 3 presentations this year. Sunday’s was not a good performance, and I want to apologize to anyone who was there and was hoping for more. My Tips and Debugging sessions on Monday and Tuesday were more to my liking, and I enjoyed them as a presenter. I hope you enjoyed them as an attendee. I understand that my slidedecks were corrupted on the ODTUG site, and I’m working with the coordinator now to get those fixed ASAP. Apparently the 2 most well-received Tips was the /*CSV*/ formatting hint and recalling your previous SQL history via the keyboard. I’ll be doing a follow-up webinar with ODTUG in a few weeks for those members that weren’t able to see my Tips and Debugger sessions in San Antonio. I’ll be sure to post details on that here when I have the details. My next scheduled conference is Oracle Open World, and I may have a couple of shows after that to round out 2012.

• Can't connect to computer via SBS2011 RWA

  I've got an SBS 2011 Essentials server. Users a able to log on to Remote Web Access using their username and password. However, the trouble starts when a users attempts to log on remotely to his/her computer from the Remote Web Access website. When the user clicks on his/her computer (in the RWA website), the user is first presented with a window listing Publisher, Type, Remote Computer name and Gateway Server. Everything seems fine here, and the user clicks Connect. The user credentials are provided, and a connection is attempted. However, the logon attempt always fails with the message "The logon attempt failed". The logon attempt always generates three log events in the server log: EventId: 4672 - Special Logon EventId: 4624 - Logon EventId: 4634 - Logoff All events happens have the same timestamp. No events are logged on the client machine which the user attempts to log on to. Others have solved this by going to their IIS server and enable "Windows Authentication" for Rpc and RpcWithCert (in Default Web Site). However, this is in place on the server. I've also got RD CAPs and RD RAPs in place. As a side note; if i try to connect to any of the machines using the Remote Desktop Connection using the "Connect from anywhere" functionality - then things work flawlessly! In other words, the error only occurs when attempting to login to a computer via the Remote Web Access website. I've run out of ideas for how I can solve this (too many hours spent). Any ideas highly appreciated!

• Permissions won't cascade more than 1 level

  Running Windows Small Business Server 2011 I have a file structure with a lot of sub folders (sometimes 5-6 levels deep). I have created access groups to grant access to my users, and also deny groups to deny access to others. X Access & X Deny. These allow or deny access to a mapped network drive X: On the server I put in the groups with Full Control Allow for X Access and Full Control Deny for X Deny, I also tick the box "Apple these permissions to objects and/or containers within this container only" and have ensured that "Apply to:" is "This folder, subfolders and files". But for some reason the permissions will only apply to the next level of folders & files. ex. structure: X: Folder 1 Folder 1a Folder 2 Folder 2a If I apply the permissions to X: it'll only go to Folder 1 & 2, not 1a and 2a, I then need to manually apply the permissions to these too. Is this working as intended or am I doing something wrong?

• Excel data into PowerPoint slides

  I have already found some helpful sites but I'm still unable to do what I want. My Excel file contains few columns and multiple rows. All the data from one row would be in one slide but data from different cells in that one row should go to a specific elements in PP slide. At first, is it possible to export data from an Excel cell into a specific text box in PP? For example, I would like to have all data from the first column of each row go to a Text box 1. Let's say I have 100 rows so I would have 100 slides and each slide would have Text bow 1 with correct data. Text box of slide 66 would have data from the first column of row 66. Then all data from the second column of each row would go to a text bow 2 and so on. I tried to do some macros with bad success. I also tried to use Word outlines and export them into PP (New slide - Slides from Outline) but there seems to be a bug since I got 250 pages of gibberish. I had only two paragraphs and both had one word. First paragraph used Heading 1 style and second paragraph used Normal style. Sites what I have found, use VB and/or some other programming language to create slides from Excel sheets. I have tried to add those VB codes into my macros but none of them hasn't worked so far. • NFS issue brings down entire vSphere ESX estate

  I experienced an odd issue this morning where an NFS issue appeared to have taken down the majority of my VMs hosted on a small vSphere 5.0 estate. The infrastructure itself is 4x IBM HS21 blades running around 20 VMs. The storage is provided by a single HP X1600 array with attached D2700 chassis running Solaris 11. There's a couple of storage pools on this which are exposed over NFS for the storage of the VM files, and some iSCSI LUNs for things like MSCS shared disks. Normally, this is pretty stable, but I appreciate the lack of resiliancy in having a single X1600 doing all the storage. It turned out that pretty much all of the VMs were inaccessible, and that the ESX hosts either were describing each VM as 'powered off', 'powered on', or 'unavailable'. The VMs described as 'powered on' where not in any way reachable or responding to pings, so this may be lies. There's absolutely no indication on the X1600 that anything was awry, and nothing on the switches to indicate any loss of connectivity. I only managed to resolve the issue by rebooting the ESX hosts in turn. I have a number of questions: What the hell happened? If this was a temporary NFS failure, why did it put the ESX hosts into a state from which a reboot was the only recovery? In the future, when the NFS server goes a little off-piste, what would be the best approach to add some resilience? I've been looking at budgeting for next year and potentially have budget to purchase another X1600/D2700/disks, would an identical mirrored disk setup help to mitigate these sorts of failures automatically? • Exchange 2010: Find Move Request Log after move request completes

  EDIT: significantly changed my question here to streamline it a bit. I've gone ahead and used 100 as my corrupted item count and ran it from the Exchange Shell. So the trail of tears continues with my SBS 2003 to 2011 migration: all the mailboxes have moved mailbox store from OLDSERVER to NEWSERVER, with the Local Move Requests completing successfully, except for one. What I'd like to do now is review the previous move request log files: when they were in progress, I could right-click Properties Log View Log File, but now that they're completed, that's not available. Nor can I use: Get-MoveRequestStatistics <user> -includereport | fl MoveReport ...as the move request has now completed and it errors out with "couldn't find a move request that corresponds...". Basically what I'd like to do is present the list of baditems to the user so that they're aware of what items didn't come across and if anything important was lost, be able to check their current OST, an archive.pst, etc. to recover it if possible. If this all needs to be wrapped up in a batch Exchange power shell command to pipe the output to log files on disk somewhere, I'm all ears, and would appreciate it for the next migration we do.

• Emails not sending from outlook / OWA - Not even hitting the mail queue in exchange

  We are having an issue this morning where we can receive external emails but cannot send internal or external ones from Outlook or OWA. If I use: Send-MailMessage –From <[email protected]> –To <[email protected]> –Subject “Test #01”-Body “Just a test message.” –SMTPServer <Server-Name> –Credential <domain\user> the email is sent correctly which makes me think there is a connection issue with OWA and Outlook. However, outlook is reporting as Connected with exchange. I have checked the message tracking in exchange tools and emails sent via outlook and OWA do not appear. Nothing has changed on the server on the weekend so I don't really know where to start debugging this issue. We are using Windows SBS 2011. We only have one send connector which isn't using Smart Hosts and is set to use DNS MX records. Use external DNS is not checked and I can ping google.com etc so doesn't appear to be a DNS issue (plus the email sends from the console anyway). EDIT It appears that users using IMAP can send emails correctly, its only ones that rely on the normal exchange connection type that don't work. EDIT Emails from IMAP are hitting the email queue's where as emails from the normal exchange accounts aren't. EDIT It seems that some of the emails we tried to send yesterday sent at about 1am but now it won't work again..
