  • Where to give feedback on a new Feature is SO ?

    After using SO, for sometimes, i realize i got some problems. zen masters fighting each other on one of my question. Every side have their own arguments and Everybody seem right. Frankly, this make me confuse : How can i choose somebody's answer where personally i don't know the right answer. So, i would like to propose a feature 'i choose this because' for a user who asked. So at least he/she explain why he choose the particular answer. Maybe it's silly, but as somebody who getting helps from other's answer, i would like to know everybody get what they deserve. Usually in this kind of situation, i just upvote every good answer and check the one i think the right one. Second feature : every hot question always got plenty answer and comment. And if among person who answer it, start to debate then it will become a little bit hectic. Right now a page only have ability to sort answer based on oldest, newest votest. So, is it possible to make a new sort based on timeline what make comment and answer collide. I believe it will be more easy to read. this feature can only see by the person who create the question, or also for public.

  • C++. How to define template parameter of type T for class A when class T needs a type A template parameter?

    Executor class has template of type P and it takes a P object in constructor. Algo class has a template E and also has a static variable of type E. Processor class has template T and a collection of Ts. Question how can I define Executor< Processor<Algo> > and Algo<Executor> ? Is this possible?   • Draw a comparison between an integer in a specific row and a count

    This is a follow-up question to this one: Check for specific integer in a row WHERE user = $name I want a user to be able to comment on my site for exactly five times a day. After this five times, the user has to wait 24 hours. In order to accomplish that I raise a counter in my MYSQL database, right next to the user. So where the name of the user is, there is where the counter gets raised. When it reaches 5 it should stop counting and reset after 24 hours. In order to check the time I use a timestamp. I check if the timestamp is older than 24 hours. If that is the case, the counter gets reseted (-5) and the user can comment again.   • Wordpress Custom Query

    I have posts that use a custom field for start date and end date. Query_posts returns an array of posts that exist in the category I'm filtering. How do I query posts using this custom field that has date i.e. 03/11/2010 and not the full array. Pagination works on the full array so it returns all posts. I can use an if else to only show the posts newer that today, then pagination doesn't work. Would I have to build a custom mysql query?

    I have a class that implements IComparable. public class MyClass : IComparable<MyClass> { public int CompareTo(MyClass c) { return this.whatever.CompareTo(c.whatever); } etc.. } I then can call the sort method of a generic list of my class List<MyClass> c = new List<MyClass>(); //Add stuff, etc. c.Sort(); and have the list sorted according to my comparer. How do i specify further comparers to sort my collection different ways according to the other properties of MyClass in order to let users sort my collection in a number of different ways?

    So we got this function in PHP strcmp(string $1,string $2) // returns -1,0, or 1; We Do not however, have an intcmp(); So i created one: function intcmp($a,$b) { if((int)$a == (int)$b)return 0; if((int)$a > (int)$b)return 1; if((int)$a < (int)$b)return -1; } This just feels dirty. What do you all think?

  • What's the fastest way to compare two objects in PHP?

    Let's say I have an object - a User object in this case - and I'd like to be able to track changes to with a separate class. The User object should not have to change it's behavior in any way for this to happen. Therefore, my separate class creates a "clean" copy of it, stores it somewhere locally, and then later can compare the User object to the original version to see if anything changed during its lifespan. Is there a function, a pattern, or anything that can quickly compare the two versions of the User object? Option 1 Maybe I could serialize each version, and directly compare, or hash them and compare? Option 2 Maybe I should simply create a ReflectionClass, run through each of the properties of the class and see if the two versions have the same property values? Option 3 Maybe there is a simple native function like objects_are_equal($object1,$object2);? What's the fastest way to do this?

    I have XMLs(or Objects) that represents data at some point in a business process. I would like to be able to see what has changed between step1 and step5(two versions of the same XML or Object). Id like to implement this like diff function in version control system. how to do it in web app? P.S. I dont want to just store those files in VCS and than make it do the diff. However if I could somehow emulate VCS without having one that would be cool. P.S. I know there are some JS frameworks that offer diff functionality, but the XML could have 10MB, so I think it should be dont at server side.

    I want to be able to determine the number of bytes that are in a subset of a parameter pack from 0 to a given index. Right now I'm using a non-constexpr way of doing this.     I am checking to see if the last character in a directory path is a '/'. How do you get ruby to treat the specific index of a string as a character rather than the associated ASCII code? For example the following always returns false: dir[dir.length - 1] == '/' This is because dir[dir.length - 1] returns the ASCII code 47 (rather than '/'). Any thoughts on how to interpret 47 as '/'? Or is there a completely different way to handle this in the first place? thanks.

  • Language D compared to C++?

    Anyone here with experience of the language D? I was just reading through its presentation at http://www.d-programming-language.org/ and at Wikipedia and it seems like a good (better) alternative to C++. With good/better I mean that it seem simpler yet it has all the good stuff within C/C++. But without some of the difficulties that make C++ more difficult to learn and use in a good and efficient way. So anyone with comments/experience with the language D? Performance?
