  • AS3 Embed Image Instead of drawing graphics

    I've got a custom AS3 scrollbar that I need to modify. The scroll thumb (the draggable part of a scrollbar) is currently just done by drawing a rectangle. But I need it to look more like a real scrollbar. Not sure how to modify the below code to import/use a scroll thumb image: scrollThumb = new Sprite(); scrollThumb.graphics.lineStyle(); scrollThumb.graphics.beginFill(0x0066ff); scrollThumb.graphics.drawRect(0, 0, 1, 1); addChild(scrollThumb); I know that I would embed an image by doing something like this: [Embed(source="images/image1.png")] private static var Image1Class:Class; But then how do I set the scrollThumb = to the image?     I have a grid datawindow with a picture in it's background (with dimensions of an A4 page) and I would like to export both data and the picture as a (single page) PDF file. You (and your users) must download and install it before you can use this technique… Does anyone have any idea what is the procedure?

To add a .vsprops file to a Visual Studio 2008 project, one could right-click the project icon in the Solution Explorer panel, choose Properties, go to the Configuration Properties | General section, and modify the Inherited Project Property Sheets property to contain a list of .vsprops paths. One could also modify the Visual Studio 2008 project file directly. Is there a way in the Visual Studio 2010 GUI to add .props files to a project? The Inherited Project Property Sheets property seems to have been removed. If manual editing of the project file is the only way to include .props files, where can one find documentation on doing it?

  • Few Google Checkout Questions

    I am planning to integrate a Google Checkout payment system on a social networking website. The idea is that members can buy "tokens" for real money (which are sort of the website currency) and then they can buy access to some extra content on the website etc. What I want to do is create a Google Checkout button that takes a member to the checkout page where he pays with his credit or debit card. What I want is the Google Checkout to notify notify my server whether the purchase of tokens was successful (if the credit/debit card was charged) so I can update the local database. The website is coded in PHP/MySQL. I have downloaded the sample PHP code from here: code.google.com/p/google-checkout-php-sample-code/wiki/Documentation I know how to create a Google checkout button and I have also placed the responsehandlerdemo.php file on my server. This is the file the Google Checkout is supposed to send response to (of course I set the path to the file in Google merchant account). Now in the response handler file there is a switch block with several case statements.   • In SQL Server can I insert multiple nodes into XML from a table?

    I want to generate some XML in a stored procedure based on data in a table. The following insert allows me to add many nodes but they have to be hard-coded or use variables (sql:variable): SET @MyXml.modify(' insert <myNode> {sql:variable("@MyVariable")} </myNode> into (/root[1]) ') So I could loop through each record in my table, put the values I need into variables and execute the above statement. But is there a way I can do this by just combining with a select statement and avoiding the loop? Edit I have used SELECT FOR XML to do similar stuff before but I always find it hard to read when working with a hierarchy of data from multiple tables. I was hoping there would be something using the modify where the XML generated is more explicit and more controllable.

    I am converting a website from ISO to UTF-8, so I need to convert the Mysql database too. On internet, I read various solutions, I don't know wich one to choose. Do I really need to convert my varchar columns to binary, then to utf8 like that : ALTER TABLE t MODIFY col BINARY(150); ALTER TABLE t MODIFY col CHAR(150) CHARACTER SET utf8; This is long to do that for each column, of each table, of each database. I have 10 database, wich 20 tables each, wich around 2 - 3 varchar colums (2 queries each column), this gives me around 1000 queries to write ! How come ? How to do ?

    I'm creating a service reference to a web service written in Java. The generated classes now follow the Java casing convention used in the web service, for example class names are camelCase rather than PascalCase. Is there a way to get the desired casing from the service reference? CLARIFICATION: With WSE based services, one could modify the generated Reference.cs to provide .NET standard casing and use XmlElementAttribute to map to the Java naming presented by the external web service, like this: [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("resultType", Form=System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified)] [System.Runtime.Serialization.DataMember] public virtual MyResultType ResultType { ... } Not terribly maintenance-friendly without writing custom code to either generate the proxy code or modify it after it's been generated. What I'm after is one or more options to present a WCF generated client proxy to calling applications using the .NET casing conventions, achieving the same as I did previously with WSE. Hopefully with less manual effort.

    I have this 3rd party library that has: slf4j-api-1.5.5.jar slf4j-jdk14-1.5.5.jar jcl-over-slf4j-1.5.5.jar I want to write some tests against this library and see its log output, and I don't want to add any more logging libraries (no log4j or anything else). I understand that SLF4J and Common Logging are both logging abstractions so I probably need to write my own simple concrete logger (or maybe not, since jcl-over-slf4j includes org.apache.commons.logging.impl.SimpleLog?). If so, what interfaces should I implement, and more importantly, how do I set up SL4J/Common Logging to use my logger in my test? I read in the SLF4J docs that I have to modify the StaticLoggerBinder class... does that really mean that I actually have to download SLF4J sources, modify the class and recompile it?

Is there a way to get the MVC (or any other model) to generate a data access (or perhaps Entity) class set from the DB-stored XML?   • Is it possible to do AJAX calls in a liquid template?

    I'm looking at the liquid templating language for Rails apps: http://wiki.github.com/tobi/liquid/ I'd like my users to also be able to make AJAX calls (just like the ones in rails for periodically_call_remote, observe_field, etc). Is this possible? Assuming the rails helpers can be added as filters, how will the user be able to modify what gets returned by the AJAX call? They cannot modify an rjs file on the server or anything like that. I suppose the AJAX call could return JSON (instead of rendered html) and then the javascript could use that to render something. But I'm having a little trouble envisioning how it would work exactly. If anyone can point me to an example of this or clarify it'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • How do I set the bake command to use a different template in cakephp

    Hi all, I wanted bake command to bake a view of my liking. So I searched bakery and found this Modify-default-HTML-produced-by-baked-templates. But after reading this I was not able to modify the template because I wanted to define some CSS in it and those files are not containing any CSS code (they contain only php code inside them). Also if I have designed my own CSS file for the new template then how do I tell bake command to pick that specified css file for new template ? I am totally confused over here. Has anybody done this similar kinda work using cakePHP. Any help would be greatly appreciable. NOTE: I am using cakePHP v 1.3 latest stable release. Thanks

  • Unique element ID, even if element doesn't have one

    I'm writing a GreaseMonkey script where I'm iterating through a bunch of elements. For each element, I need a string ID that I can use to reference that element later. The element itself doesn't have an id attribute, and I can't modify the original document to give it one (although I can make DOM changes in my script). I can't store the references in my script because when I need them, the GreaseMonkey script itself will have gone out of scope. Is there some way to get at an "internal" ID that the browser uses, for example? A Firefox-only solution is fine; a cross-browser solution that could be applied in other scenarios would be awesome. Edit: If the GreaseMonkey script is out of scope, how are you referencing the elements later? They GreaseMonkey script is adding events to DOM objects. I can't store the references in an array or some other similar mechanism because when the event fires, the array will be gone because the GreaseMonkey script will have gone out of scope. So the event needs some way to know about the element reference that the script had when the event was attached. And the element in question is not the one to which it is attached. Can't you just use a custom property on the element? Yes, but the problem is on the lookup. I'd have to resort to iterating through all the elements looking for the one that has that custom property set to the desired id. That would work, sure, but in large documents it could be very time consuming. I'm looking for something where the browser can do the lookup grunt work. Wait, can you or can you not modify the document? I can't modify the source document, but I can make DOM changes in the script. I'll clarify in the question. Can you not use closures? Closuses did turn out to work, although I initially thought they wouldn't. See my later post. It sounds like the answer to the question: "Is there some internal browser ID I could use?" is "No."

  • Sqlite: CURRENT_TIMESTAMP is in GMT, not the timezone of the machine

    I have a sqlite (v3) table with this column definition: "timestamp" DATETIME DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP The server that this database lives on is in the CST time zone. When I insert into my table without including the timestamp column, sqlite automatically populates that field with the current timestamp in GMT, not CST. Is there a way to modify my insert statement to force the stored timestamp to be in CST? On the other hand, it is probably better to store it in GMT (in case the database gets moved to a different timezone, for example), so is there a way I can modify my select SQL to convert the stored timestamp to CST when I extract it from the table? We are storing the hash and the binary file in a SQL DB. This works fine when we upload the same instance of a file. But when we save a new instance of the file from the DB (with today's date as the create/modify) on the file-system and then check the new hash versus the MD5 stored in the DB they do not match, and therefor fail a duplicate check. How can we check for a file hash excluding the file attributes? or is there a different issue here?

  • More specific NSNumberFormatter failure behaviour

    I have an NSTextField into which I need the user to enter a number between a max and min, and it would be nice if I could detect when the NSNumberFormatter fails that particular test so I can either display a nicer message ("The number is too large" is not very helpful, it needs to display the valid range) or simply set the field automatically to the nearest valid value. I've looked at the NSTextField delegate's -control:didFailToFormatString:errorDescription: method which doesn't seem to allow you to modify the error, and I've looked at overriding the NSNumberFormatter's -getObjectValue:forString:range:error: method which does give me an NSError that I can modify, but there doesn't seem to be any way to determine which specific error was returned. Since I am just entering a simple integer, I don't need most of the functionality in NSNumberFormatter, would I be better off just writing my own formatter from scratch?

    I'm trying to make a web app that will manage my Mercurial repositories for me. I want it so that when I tell it to load repository X: Connect to a MySQL server and make sure X exists. Check if the user is allowed to access the repository. If above is true, get the location of X from a mysql server. Run a hgweb cgi script (python) containing the path of the repository. Here is the problem, I want to: take the hgweb script, modify it, and run it. But I do not want to: take the hgweb script, modify it, write it to a file and redirect there. I am using Apache to run the httpd process.

    Hi! I'm using VSTO to create an Excel Add-on. This add-on retrieves and display alot of data from a sql-server. This works great, but later on I plan to access some of the data inside excel and modify it in some ways. My problem is that I need a way of classify cells that I want to modify. Is there any way to add meta-data to a cell to know if it is a cell that should be modified? E.g. add a attribute to the cell, e.g. "editable_cell", and do something like Excel.FindCellsWithAttribute("editable_cell") to find the sought after cells? Thanks! /Gustav
