Facebook Connect via Javascript doesn't close and doesn't pass session id

I'm trying to authenticate users via Facebook Connect using a custom Javascript button: <form> <input type="button" value="Connect with Facebook" onclick="window.open('http://www.facebook.com/login.php?api_key=XXXXX&extern=1&fbconnect=1&req_perms=publish_stream,email&return_session=0&v=1.0&next=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.example.com%2Fxd_receiver.htm&fb_connect=1&cancel_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.example.com%2Fregister%2Fcancel', '_blank', 'top=442,width=480,height=460,resizable=yes', true)" onlogin='window.location="/register/step2"' /> </form> I am able to authenticate users. However after authentication, the popup window just stays open and the main window is not directed anywhere. In fact, it is the popup window that goes to "/register/step2" How can I get the login window to close as expected, and to pass the facebook session id to /register/step2? Thanks!

Hi As i started programming by jdk6, i had no problem in text components neither in awt nor in swing. Unfortunately, opposed to other situations i encountered before, here there is no way to avoid using awt and make use of Swing in this case. And this was just an SSCCE i made to show the problem and my recent (also first) application suffers from this subject. And i think should have to let you know I posted this question a while ago in SDN and "the Java Ranch" forums and other native forums and still I'm watching... By the way i am using latest version of Netbeans IDE... I will be so grateful if anybody has a solution to this damn AWT components never rendered any Farsi character for me... Thanks in advance

Link to another file in chrome extension

I want to have a link in the popup.html file for my extension that loads another file (which will be included with the extension) how can I do this? or will I need to keep it in the same page? I tried using this code: <a href="/mail.html"> <img id="newmail_icon" src="" width="16" height="16" /> <span id="newmail">loading</span><br /> </a> But when I click the link nothing happens. I just found out that adding target="_blank" to the link will make it work and open in a new tab, but I can't get it to open in the popup. I have tried target="_self" but it didn't do anything.

Best way to implement refusing a value change by the user in Swing?

I have a JCheckBox that should not be checked by the user when a certain other field is empty. So now I want to have an error popup and then reset the checkbox (I've considered disabling the checkbox, but the connection to the other field is non-obvious, and a tooltip text IMO not visible enough). What's the correct way to do that in Swing? Through a PropertyVetoException? Where do I throw it and where do I catch it? My first (probably ugly) idea would be to add a ChangeListener that itself shows the popup and resets the value.

Why does having a transitional doctype, cause my javascript to fail in WebKit and Opera Browsers

Hi all I am trying to get a mouseover script to work, when there is no doctype set the script works fine in all browsers I test, but the site looks like a dogs breakfast However When i set the doctype to transitional (it has to be this doctype) Firefox and IE8 (&compat mode) work fine But Opera and the webkit browsers can only display the popup above the page fold, so if you scroll down the page and go over an image the popup appears above the visible page. And I can't figure out why, there are a couple of instances of document.all in the code, but my attempts to replace these have broken the code, besides the fact it works in Firefox and not Opera makes me think that document.all is not the issue Any help would be appreciated, even just telling me why a doctype would effect Javascript would be a help. If I just type a "<" then the code assist popup will come up with all the options I can choose from. I would like to know if the code assist can appear in more places though. If I type "<div" and hit space can I get another code assist popup? If so, how?

jQuery UI - Datepicker - Hide year

Hi, I'm using jQuery UI 1.8 and I would like to hide the year from the user in both the popup and the textbox. Essentially instead of picking the day, month and year I want the user to just pick the day and month. Hiding the year in the textbox is easy enough, the code shown below will do that. I'm stumped on how to hide the year from the popup - so it would say "April" instead of "April 2010". $(function() { $("#beginDateRange").datepicker({ dateFormat: 'mm/dd' }); }); <input type="text" name="beginDateRange" id="beginDateRange" /> Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do I make these layers not overlap?

I tried using z-index, but it didn't work. 2 ) I'm trying to make the div #search align directly beneath the "More", but upon setting the width of #search, it aligns to the left side. 3 ) When I hover over the navigation on the left, the popup is being overlapped by the text in the middle. I want the popup to be on top of the text.

Using custom scrollbar on jquery lightbox

Hi, I need to use a custom scrollbar on jquery lightbox. My requirement is that when user clicks on a link then a popup appears and the popup contains 2 or 3 tabs, user can click on any tab to see it's content. In one of those tabs I need scrollbar to show huge content but the scrollbar should not be default it should be custom with any color. Currently I am using "JQuery's JScrollPane" plugin http://jscrollpane.kelvinluck.com to achieve the functionality, but this is not working on IE 6,7 and 8, mean scrollbar does not appear on IE. It works fine on Firefox and Chrome. Note: the same plugin works fine on IE also when I use it on page's element which is available while page load but not while the element is shown dynamically on lightbox. Thanks

Spring-Security http-basic auth in addition to other authentication types

I have a pretty standard existing webapp using spring security that requires a database-backed form login for user-specific paths (such as /user/**), and some completely open and public paths (such as /index.html). However, as this webapp is still under development, I'd like to add a http-basic popup across all paths (/**) to add some privacy. Therefore, I'm trying to add a http-basic popup that asks for a universal user/pass combo (ex admin/foo) that would be required to view any path, but then still keep intact all of the other underlying authentication mechanisms. I can't really do anything with the <http> tag, since that will confuse the "keep out the nosy crawlers" authentication with the "user login" authentication, and I'm not seeing any way to associate different paths with different authentication mechanisms. Is there some way to do this with spring security? Alternatively, is there some kind of a dead simple filter that I can apply independently of spring-security's authentication mechanisms?

Hi, We are building a flash website with cms at the back end, and we are allowing admin to put anchors inside a content. Later we created a smaller version of the whole content to display just a small part and then [read more] button. Which add a new layer on top of every thing acting like a popup and it is populated with complete content. Now we would like to scroll that text inside popup to that portion which [read more] button was clicked. The most common example inside HTMl is go to top link in footer on most of the sites which move the whole document to top. Happy codding.

Python Scraper for Javascript?

Hey all, Can anyone direct me to a good Python screen scraping library for javascript code (hopefully one with good documentation/tutorials)? I'd like to see what options are out there, but most of all the easiest to learn with fastest results... wondering if anyone had experience. I've heard some stuff about spidermonkey, but maybe there are better ones out there? Update Message on ASP.NET ModelPopupExtender

Hi, I have a form in a MS AJAX ModalPopup Extender, which is in a UpdatePanel (for async loading). Everything works as expected. There is one thing that I am trying to do but not sure how to do it. On form submission, there is server side validation on top of client side validation. My question is: what is the best way to display validation error messages if any? It would be ideal if the messages could be written to the popup asynchronously so that the popup is still there. If this is not possible, I am thinking of displaying the messages using the JavaScript alert box. Any insight and suggestions are greatly appreciated. John

Modifying a global variable from <a href>

I have created some code to popup a confirm dialog if a user tries to leave a page without saving their changes. However, I don't want the confirmation dialog to popup if the user has clicked the "Save" button. What am I doing wrong here?

CSS Hidden DIV Form Submit

Using CSS, when a link is clicked it brings up a hidden DIV that contains a form. The user will then enter information and then submit the form. I'd like the hidden DIV to remain visisble, and a 'success message' to be displayed after submission. Then the user will have the option of closing the DIV. I can't get it to work without reloading the page, which causes the DIV to become hidden again. I have WPF Application. My Application consist of 2 exe files: Notifier.exe and MainApp.exe. Notifier is system tray popup application which check the remote server in equal intervals and get the list of current documents of user. When user click on one of the documents in list in Notification popup I open MainApp.exe and show required document in new tab. But When user click on another document in list it open new MainApp.exe process. Question: How Can I connect specific (already opened) process in the operating system and create some object in it?

Export Failed Element Log(s) after deliver?

When a deliver has been performed I can rightlick an entry in the GUI version/element log and it displays me a popup with the element log. Quite handy. I now have a delivery with about 25 failed ones and a couple of hundred OK's. Sadly I can not sort on the column "status" so I have to make screenshots wherever I find a [!] to sit together with the specific team to find out if it is really ok to not deliver those. It would however be handy to have this list of element logs from a deliver so that I do not have to make screenshots or copy the contents of the popup box one by one but just have a list of the failed ones with the element log. Is there a way to export the element logs from a deliver (so the the ones that show up when you rightclick and choose "Display Element Log") and/or only the ones that gave failures?

Java Security filter together with thickbox pop-ups

Hi, I have a java application that uses a security filter to protect certain resources. If there is no user logged on, it will keep in session the request path and redirect to a logon page. After a successful logon, user is redirected to the original requested page. I have now added some thickbox (ajax bases pop-up) popups to the application. Unfortunately, when I get now a popup that is "secure" the filter redirects to a logon page (which is not a popup) and makes the whole application messy. Anyone with ideas on how to solve this? Dojo: dijit.form.DropDownButton content not positioned correctly

I have the following setup: <div dojoType="dijit.form.DropDownButton"> <span>Modify</span> <div dojoType="dijit.Menu"> <div dojoType="dijit.MenuItem">...</div> </div> </div> There is of course more to the final setup. The problem I Have is that if I scroll in the page, the popup menu under the DropDownButton comes much higher in the page. I suspect that it's subtracting the scrollOffset for the position off the popup, while in reality that is not needed. Anyone got any tips about how to fix this? I would prefer to use declerative html syntax for using Dojo widgets. == Fixed == I updated to dojo 1.4.2 and this got fixed then.

When using the Facebook Connect Actionscript API (no JS, just straight Flash), how can I listen for

Hey guys, When using the Facebook Connect AS API, the user will be prompted to log in to FB in a pop up window. At this point I want to block interaction in my flash movie and wait for them to complete logging in (or potentially close/cancel and not log in). I have seen examples where people put up a Flex "Alert" box with some hint like "Press ok once you have logged into facebook", but I want to automatically listen for them logging in or canceling/closing the popup window without logging in. Is there an event I can listen for with flash? So far I am using ZERO javascript, but I guess I could add a little if it is needed for this... I definitely want to avoid having some sort of "Press OK" alert box, but instead have the flash application automatically react to the user logging in with the popup window.

How to best share an NSMenu between multiple NSPopUpButton instances

Hi, I need to share the same NSMenu instance between multiple popup buttons. When I create an NSPopUpButton in IB, a new menu is automatically created and inserted as a child of the NSPopUpButtonCell. At the moment, I simply create an IBOutlet NSMenuItem* standardMenu member in my MainController and connect the "menu" outlets of the popup buttons to this, but this leaves the "fake" menus in the hierarchy. Surely, there's a clean way of doing this from inside IB? Thanks in advance for any advice you might be able to give.
