• Display is slightly blurry on (native) 1920x1080 resolution

  I have a computer monitor that is approximately 23" in size. Its native resolution is 1920x1080, and Windows 7 will not allow it to be any higher. However, I cannot make the resolution a little lower as well. When I right-click on my desktop and select 'Screen resolution,' the vertical slider has only two options: 1920x1080 and 1280x720. There are no real problems that I am having besides the fact that the image is slightly blurry. I can easily make things out and see them, but I definitely feel that the image is not as clear as it could be. My graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 5450 and it has the latest graphics drivers installed. I've tried playing around with the AMD VISION Engine Control Center to see if I can change an option to make the image clearer, but I had no luck. I did find one odd thing, though. When I lowered the refresh rate from 60Hz to 50Hz, the image kind of "zoomed in" but it also became perfectly clear like I would expect it to look. The problem is that when I use 50Hz, the image zooms in a little on the center and I lose maybe an inch and a half of the screen (I do not see the bar at the top of applications, I do not see the Windows taskbar thing, etc). I figured if I could somehow zoom in so that the entire image fills the screen (not the slightly cropped version) then I would have the perfectly crisp image of 50Hz, and also the uncropped image of 60Hz. However, upon zooming in, the image began to look blurry again just like it did with 60Hz. So I am at a loss here. I do not know how to make the image look as clear as it should. I have the latest drivers (I updated them today) and I know that my monitor supports the resolution that I am trying to use. Has anybody experienced something like this before? I'd really appreciate any input - thanks! Update: I have figured out how to make the display look crisp! I set it to the 50Hz option, and then I changed the scaling through the monitor itself, rather than software. Now, however, I am finding that games look pretty bad because since it is clear, the lower quality really becomes apparent. I cannot run new games at 1080p, so I run them at the lowest resolution possible (1280x720, since it is the only other option offered, as I have mentioned). So I am wondering, is there a way to have Windows display more resolution options?

  I have a need to add custom HTML attributes, specifically classes or styles to option tags in the selects generated by Html.DropDownFor(). I've been playing with it, and for the life of me I can't figure out what I need to do to get what I need working. • XML/SOAP attributes for a complextype in kSOAP

  Hi, I'm trying to parse a SOAP response that contains nested ComplexTypes using the kSOAP library on Android 2.1. <event att1="value1" att2="value2" att3="value3"> <tag2> ... </tag2> <tag3> ... </tag3> </event> I've implemented my own class Event that implements org.ksoap2.serialization.KvmSerializable to parse this response. It is not clear to me if and how I can parse the attributes (att1, att2 and att3) of the event node. Is it even possible with the current kSOAP implementation? Thanks.

• Repairing malformatted html attributes using c#

  I have a web application with an upload functionality for HTML files generated by chess software to be able to include a javascript player that reproduces a chess game. I do not like to load the uploaded files in a frame so I reconstruct the HTML and javascript generated by the software by parsing the dynamic parts of the file. The problem with the HTML is that all attributes values are surrounded with an apostrophe instead of a quotation mark. I am looking for a way to fix this using a library or a regex replace using c#. The html looks like this: <DIV class='pgb'><TABLE class='pgbb' CELLSPACING='0' CELLPADDING='0'><TR><TD> and I would transform it into: <DIV class="pgb"><TABLE class="pgbb" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="0"><TR><TD>

• restore default css attributes

  hi all. i'm writing a component that is to be used across multiple websites. each website has it's own stylesheets and displays certain things differently. all of my html is wrapped within a div with an id: <div id="myComponent">...</div> my component however is to look consistent across all of the sites. this is fine as i apply styling to most of the attributes in my component. div#myComponent p {font-size:11px;} etc however i've come across a site that removes the border from all input fields input {border: medium none;} i need to 'un-apply' this directive for the input fields within my component, and preferrably use the browser's default styling for inputs, as the border style for input type="text" will need be different to input type="button". how would you achieve this?

• How to prevent a javascript/backbone.js cloned model from sharing attributes

  I'm working with backbone.js models, so I don't know if my question is particular to the way backbone handles cloning or if it applies to javascript in general. Basically, I need to clone a model which has an attribute property assigned an object. The problem is that when I update the parent or clone's attribute, the other model is also updated.   I'm trying to build a basic shopping cart for a Rails app I'm working on. Nothing special, - the shopping cart has many line_items - each line_item has_one product associated and a quantity with it class Cart < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :line_items has_many :line_items, :dependent => :destroy end class LineItem < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :quantity, :product belongs_to :cart has_one :product end I'm trying to use RSpec to test this association, but i'm doing something wrong as I'm getting an error that says: DEPRECATION WARNING: You're trying to create an attribute 'line_item_id'. Writing arbitrary attributes on a model is deprecated, and I'm not sure why. In my factories.rb file I'm defining the line_item factory as follows: factory :line_item do quantity { Random.rand(1..5) } product end factory :cart do factory :cart_with_two_line_items do ignore do line_item_count 2 end after(:create) do |cart, evaluator| FactoryGirl.create_list(:line_item, evaluator.line_item_count, cart_id: cart) end end end Any pointers where I'm going wrong, it's probably something basic, but I'm still quite new to Rspec. We are storing the hash and the binary file in a SQL DB. This works fine when we upload the same instance of a file. But when we save a new instance of the file from the DB (with today's date as the create/modify) on the file-system and then check the new hash versus the MD5 stored in the DB they do not match, and therefor fail a duplicate check. How can we check for a file hash excluding the file attributes? or is there a different issue here?

• Modelling a manyToMany relationship with attributes

  Hello, I have a ManyToMany relationship between two classes, for instance class Customer and class Item. A customer can buy several items and an item can be bought by different customers. I need to store extra information in this relationship, for example the day when the item was bought. I wonder how is this usually modelled in JPA, cause I'm not sure how to express this in code. Do I have to create a new class to model all the attributes of the relationship and make a manyToMany relationship between the other classes or is a better way to do this? Thanks

• Passing single attributes to associated factories

  I'm looking for a way to pass fields into the factories of associated models without having to explicitly call the factory itself. For example, lets say I have some factories like so: Factory.define :person do |person| person.name "Default Bob" person.sex "M" person.house {|p| p.association(:house)} end Factory.define :house do |house| house.color "Red" house.has_ac true house.suburb {|h| h.association(:suburb)} end Factory.define :suburb do |suburb| suburb.name "Little boxes" end This is fine and all, but if I want to use factories to create someone in a specific house in a specific suburb I have do this: sub = Factory(:suburb, :name => "Blue town") house = Factory(:house, :color => "Blue", :suburb => sub) person = Factory(:person, :name => "Bill", :house => house) While this isn't bad in this small case, my actual models sometimes have 7 or 8 associations, and when I want to create an object whose associations I only care about a single attribute, the code for this starts to get really heavy. Is there somewhat I can pass attributes to nested Factories without having to recall the Factory itself?

  I'm using dragonfly gem to manage images and attachments in my rails app and I need to store images in a specific directory structure based on my user model. let' say I have user model which has a name and each user has many albums, which have a name also, then I want the images to be stored in "#{RAILS_ROOT}/public/system/#{user.name}/#{user.album.name}/#{suffix}" I've managed to changed the root_path in dragon fly and I even overrided relative_storage_path like this: class MyDataStore < Dragonfly::DataStorage::FileDataStore private def relative_storage_path(suffix) "#{suffix}" end end but still, I don't know how I can pass the ActiveRecord object attributes like user.name and user.album.name to relative_storage_path to create my ideal path. do you have any idea how I can do such a thing?

  I have the following test in my Rails Application: it "should validate xml" do builder = Builder::XmlMarkup.new builder.server(:name => "myServer", :ip => "192.168.1.1").should == "<server name=\"myServer\" ip=\"192.168.1.1\"/>" end The problem is that this test passes sometimes, because the order of the xml tag attributes is unpredictable. Is there a way to force this order? Is there any other easy way to build xml? This example is simplified, I have a big XML. My problem is that I want to do an integration test, which compares a WebService call with a fixed XML file. Otherwise, I would have to parse the xml and verify element by element in the XML.

I currently have in Cocoa the ability to traverse these nodes, but I'm at a loss at how I can access the data in the MOVIE NSXMLNodes. Is there a way I can dump all of the values from each NSXMLNode into a Hashtable and retrieve values that way? Am using NSXMLDocument and NSXMLNodes.
