  • ASP.NET Routing (in WebForms)not working when deployed under IIS,Works in IDE

    I have an ASP.NET web application(webforms,not MVC) developed in VS 2008 and i have implemented ASP.NET web forms URL routing by following this link http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/051309-1.aspx#postadlink It works pretty good when i run it on the Visual studion IDE.But does not works when i created a site under my IIS (IIS 5.1 in XP) and deployed the same files there.I have set ASP.NET version as 2.0 in the Properties window of my application too.But does not work. Any idea Why ? Is there anything else to be setup ? Thanks in advance

  • How can I install ruby on rails with rvm?

    I've been searching around on how to install it through the terminal on my mac. I'm using snow leopard. When I use the command: rvm install 1.9.3 I've also followed the other procedures that led me up to this to install, right now the current version is 1.8.3 Error running './configure --prefix="/Users/jose/.rvm/usr" ', please read /Users/jose/.rvm/log/ruby-1.9.3-p125/yaml/configure.log Then it mentions something about xcode and autoreconf was not found in the PATH. Error running 'patch -F 25 -p1 -N -f <"/Users/jose/.rvm/patches/ruby/1.9.3/p125/xcode-debugopt-fix-e34840.diff"',please read /Users/jose/.rvm/log/ruby-1.9.3-p125/patch.apply.xcode-debugopt-fix-r34840.log rvm requires autoreconf to install the selected ruby interpreter however autoreconf was not found in the PATH I been trying for awhile now, and found out i need to have Xcode for snow leopard which I cannot find. So my last option will be to upgrade to lion but I don't know about upgrading. Kind of scared to upgrade and everything becomes buggy.

    We are starting to convert a large classic asp application into MVC (using C#). An additional requirement is, that all classic routes get "translated" to MVC ones ('mydomain.com/productdetail.asp?id=13' should become 'mydomain.com/products/13') even before we start writing the first controller or view. So basically, we want to use the routing from MVC but have the classic asp handle the response. An these are my questions: How to use the new nice urls but have the classic asp handle the construction of the html result? Within the classic asp page, the new MVC url pattern should be used for links. What is the best way of translating the old urls to the new ones and make the accessible within the classic asp site (using COM I guess). When an old/classic url is requested, how would I correctly handle that request so that browsers/searchengines would understand that the page has moved to the new url? Thanks in advance!

  • How do I display the validation which failed in my Rails unit test?

    Summary: Failed unit tests tell me which assert (file:line) failed, but not which validation resulted in the failure. More info: I have 11 validations in one of my models. Unit testing is great, whether I run `rake test:units --trace' or 'ruby -Itest test/unit/mymodel_test.rb'. However, despite the fact that it tells me exactly which assert() failed me, I am not told which validation failed. I must be missing something obvious, because I can't ask Google this question well enough to get an answer. Thanks :)

  • Building a rails form to filter an index page?

    G'day guys, I'm having an issue with filtering the presentation of several thousand trade items I have in my system. As per the specs of the system we're building we have to have a form that allows people to put in a start date and then an interval in minutes, to filter the presentation of the items. I've built my helper functions to return all of the trades within that interval period, but I can't for the life of me properly build the form that will return a dateTime value and an integer value within the top of the index page? Any ideas? Would I have to build a separate model object to assign values to, or is there a simpler way?

My problem is that delta indexing works only for the Discussion model and not for the User model. For ex: When I update the 'title' of a discussion, I can see the thinking sphinx is rotating the indices etc. (as is evident from the logs). But when I update the 'first_name' or the 'last_name' of a user, nothing happens. The User model also has a has_many :through association through a model called GroupsUser. I have setup a after_save on the GroupsUser as follows: def set_user_delta_flag user.delta = true user.save end Even this doesn't seem to trigger delta indexing on the User model. A similar setup for the Discussion model works perfectly! Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

  • Symfony: Weird routing issue

    Hi, I've got following URL in symfony (specifics not important): /frontend_dev.php/something/25/apple ... and a routing rule: /something/:id/:word The URL works fine when clicked through to on the site, but not when I type in the URL. Instead, symfony says: Unable to find a matching route to generate url for params "NULL". The weird thing is that I can navigate to this page and it works, but when hitting Enter in the browser address bar, it no longer finds it. Any thoughts on what might be the cause of something like this generally? I should also add that the URL was working fine when typed in the address bar earlier, but doesn't anymore, and I'm not sure what's there that might be interfering with it. Thanks in advance.

    I've been experiencing really high CPU on a ruby on rails app (see stack below) and have been trying to diagnose the possible causes to no avail. I want the urls to mapped like this... www.example.com/nodes/main - www.example.com/main www.example.com/nodes/about - www.example.com/about So for this I wrote in my config/routes.php file.. Router::connect('/:action', array('controller' => 'nodes')); Now, I got the thing going but when I click on the links, the url in browser appears like www.example.com/nodes/main www.example.com/nodes/about Is there some way where I can get the urls to appear the way they are routed? Setting in .htaccess or httpd.conf would be easy - but I don't have access to that. Regards Vikram

  • How to pass form errors in session or flash? [Rails 2.3.5]

    I have a create action for a form that potentially generates errors (i.e. first name is missing) and then redirects. The problem is, that when the redirect happens those form errors get lost. How could I pass those form errors in a session to be displayed back in the original form (which should still be filled out with the previous details, as in the original error_messages behavior)?   • What's a good plugin or guide I can use to create javascript widgets from a Rails App?

    I've been looking around for a while now and the best guide I've seen so far is Dr Nic's DIY widgets how to (here). I haven't been able to make something like this work: Assuming this is my widget code: <script src="http://mysite/nomnoms.js"> </script> And my nomnoms controller looks like (assume that the list partial exists and simply lists down a link to the show page of each nomnom in the @nomnoms variable): class NomnomsController < ApplicationController def index @nomnoms = Nomnom.find(:all) @content = render_to_string(:partial => 'list') end end And in the index.js of my nomnoms_controller I have: page << "document.write('<div>'" page << "document.write('#{@content.to_json}')" page << "</div>" The above setup doesn't render anything :(. But when I change the second line of index.js to: page << "document.write('nomnoms should be here') ...the widget renders the text. Any help or even a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    [See Sample: Context routing and throttling with orchestration] Imagine the project where most of the routing happens between orchestrations. I.e. routing is mostly between the MessageBox and orchestration with direct endpoints. Imagine also the most of the messages are with the same Message type. Usually in this case messages got the special node only for the routing. For example, the field can be the “Originator” or “Recipient” or “From” or “To”. What wrong is with this approach, it creates the dependency between the message and the message processing. Message “knows” something about Originator or Recipient. So what we can do with it? How can we “colorize” the same message to route it to the different places without changing the message itself? One of the decisions is to use the message context. BizTalk uses the promoted properties for routing.  There are two kinds of the properties: the content properties and the context properties. The content property extracts its value from inside the message, it is a value of the element or attribute. [See MSDN] The context property gets its value from the message environment. It can be the port name that receive this message, it can be the message Id, created by the BizTalk. Context properties look like the headers in the SOAP message. Actually they are not the headers but behave like headers. The context properties are the good match for our case. First, we don’t have to change the message itself to set or change the routing property. The context is stored outside the message body. Second, we don’t have to create the property schema to use the context properties. [See MSDN: How to create Property schema] BizTalk has the predefined schema set for the context properties. [See MSDN: Message Context Properties] Use one of them and that's it. The main purpose of the context properties is working on behalf of the BizTalk internals. But we can read, create and change them. Just do not interfere with BizTalk internals on this way.

  • Java Script in Rails 3.1 works only in certain parts. Any idea why?

    This might seem a bit weird, but since I am new in RoR and cannot find any similar questions I thought you might know. The situation is that JavaScript does not work throughout my whole site. For instance. For the sake of checking, I place a link with an alert function in the footer. It did not work at the beginning, it felt like the JS was disabled(but it wasn't). But eventually it worked. Now it works in most the pages but it does not work in one that there is also an 'autocomplete' field. Of course, this autocomplete field does not work either. That could lead you to think that there is something wrong with the autocomplete code. However this same code is working in the sidebar. Any ideas why? Could it have anything to do with the fact that one day my assets folder appeared empty? After installing the gmaps4rails gem I realized that all my Js and CSS files were gone from my assests folder. Ok, it might have happened long before and I just realized at that point. I don't really know. Here in the root you can see that the 'Hola sip' click at the button works. here it works However, here same link does not trigger the alert function. here it doesn't

The problem is that I have routed blog/posts to posts. I am on blog/posts now and all the links in the Pager is showing me posts/index?page=2, page/index?page=3. I want to have the pager showing links to blog/posts/index?page=2, blog/posts/index?page=3 This my current routing for this: 'urlFormat'=>'path', 'rules'=>array( 'blog/posts' => 'posts', How should I do this? When I run my app and enter the url "/Admin/Pages/List" I'm getting an The resource cannot be found error. When I enter /Pages/List, the Action method is hit but the view is not found,because the app is searching in wrong directories ~/Views/Pages/List.aspx ~/Views/Pages/List.ascx ~/Views/Shared/List.aspx ~/Views/Shared/List.ascx the view is in /Admin/Pages/List.     Part of my application maps resources stored in a number of locations onto web URLs like this: http://servername/Issue.aspx/Details?issueID=1504/productId=2345 Is it possible to construct an MVC route that matches this so that I get the path in its entirety passed into my controller? Either as a single string or possibly as an params style array of strings.     Ok, I know this is for the Saas course and people have been asking questions related to that as well but i've spent a lot of time trying and reading and I'm stuck. First of all, When you have a model called Movie, is it better to use Ratings as a model and associate them or just keep Ratings in an array floating in space(!). Second, here's what I have now in my controller: def index @movies = Movie.where(params[:ratings].present? ? {:rating => (params[:ratings].keys)} : {}).order(params[:sort]) @sort = params[:sort] @ratings = Ratings.all end Now, I decided to create a Ratings model since I thought It would be better. Here's my view: = form_tag movies_path, :method => :get do Include: - @ratings.each do |rating| = rating.rating = check_box_tag "ratings[#{rating.rating}]" = submit_tag "Refresh" I tried everything that is related to using a conditional ternary inside the checkbox tag ending with " .include?(rating) ? true : "" I tried everything that's supposed to work but it doesn't.   • How to go about designing an intermediate routing filter program to accept input and forward accordingly?

    My predicament: I designed an app, written in Python, to read my mail and check for messages that contain a certain digital signature. It opens these and looks for keywords. If the message contains these keywords, certain related functions area executed on the computer. It is a way I can control my computer from my cell phone without being there. I am still in the beginning stages and it can only currently remotely open and close applications/processes. The obvious issue is security risks. I hoped to spearhead that by requiring and checking for that digital signature. However, my issue comes when I'd like to make this program usable by multiple users. The idea is that the user will send keywords: username and password, for instance, to log into their personal email account and send messages to it to be parsed. Please ignore the security implications of sending non-encoded passwords through email. (Though if you could help me on that part I'd much appreciate it as well, but currently, that is not the scope of my question.) My issue is designing an intermediary process that will take an email/password to read an email and scan for those keywords. The issue is, that the program has to be accessing an email to read the email for the username/password! I have got myself into a loop and cannot figure out how to have this required intermediary program. I could just create an arbitrary email account and have that check for login-creds, but is there a better way of doing this than that? Also, is there a better way of communicating with a computer remotely than this? Especially if the computer is not a server and is behind a router with only a subnet ip? If I am asking this question in the wrong place, I deeply apologize. Any help would be much appreciated!
