PHP Bz2 extension question

Hi, I wanted to ask: when I am using php.net/bzopen, does I need to bzwrite() already compressed by bzcompress() string or it being compressed automatically while writing?

I'm trying to create a custom drop down and using the code below it works pretty well - only one problem is if i have more than one drop down, all the links will only activate the first drop down. Any ideas on how I would fix that? Creating a custom Configuration

I created a customer configuration class Reports. I then created another class called "ReportsCollection". When I try and do the "ConfigurationManager.GetSection()", it doesn't populate my collection variable. Can anyone see any mistakes in my code? iPhone code to create new NSUserDefaults objects?

I have NSUserDefaults storing a number of string variables for things like name, date of birth, address, etc. What I would like to know is how to write a code that will create a new object for each new user. For example, I have a spinning wheel that shows up immediately after the first time the user runs the app. What I want, is for that wheel to have one single option - "New User". Once that New User fills out a bunch of text fields that I am using NSUserDefaults to save, I want that user to be saved on that spinning wheel so that the next time they open up the app they have the option of returning to all of the variables that they previously put in, or creating a new user so they can input all new variables. I know how to do everything except write the code to create new users automatically. Potentially, the program should allow for a limitless number of these user objects and then just use something arbitrary like their last name to input into the spinning wheel. Is there an OData Server Library for Java or PHP to EXPOSE OData?

Hi, I am wondering if there is or why there isn't a ADO.NET Data Services Server Library for Java? I need to expose a database from a Java Server but i only see Microsot providing clients for java not server parts. How is that an open standard when you need .NET/Windows to expose it? Thanks for any pointers to that. Same interesting for PHP as well.

I couldn't find any documentation around using multiple forms in an ASP.NET MVC 2 ViewModel approach. i.e. In the built in application when you select New MVC2 web app, the register page uses a ViewPage which inherits like this:- Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage" I wanted to use that approach on a page with multiple forms, but that RegisterModel only supported one form.

jQuery error when aborting an ajax call only in Internet Explorer

When mousing over an image in a jcarousel, my site displays a popup whose contents are loaded via ajax. I'm doing what I thought was fairly straightforward; keeping a handle to the xhrRequest object, and aborting the existing one before making a new request. Apache - Reverse Proxy and HTTP 302 status messsage

My team is trying to setup an Apache reverse proxy from a customer's site into one of our web applications. http://www.example.com/app1/some-path maps to http://internal1.example.com/some-path Inside our application we use struts and have redirect = true set on certain actions in order to provide certain functionality. The 302 status messages from these re-directs cause the user to break out of the proxy resulting in an error page for the end user. HTTP/1.1 302 Found Location: http://internal.example.com/some-path/redirect Is there any way to setup the reverse proxy in apache so that the redirects work correctly? http://www.example.com/app1/some-path/redirect

Well basically I've got a vb.net script connecting to IRC, and I'm working on making it a basic chat system, but I've run into a problem. Say I receive this: :[email protected] PRIVMSG #channel :message I want to grab specific information to output to the user. I want to grab nickname and message How can I go about doing this? I thought about using regex, but I can't figure out how to make regex grab message since there's nothing after it.

I'm considering switching to mysqli for all my php projects. The way my code is written (I run very simple websites and built my own basic framework which I use across all of them) I shouldn't have too many problems modifying the functions and classes. However, i've only heard positive things about prepared statements, bar a few grumblings about the php functions available, most notably the lack of a simple replacement for using mysql_fetch_array in a while. This sounds a bit too good to be true, so I wondered if anyone could highlight some of the issues with using prepared statements, such as speed and resource usage.

Prevent users from being able to access a webpage via web browser?

My friend and I are working on a program. This program is going to submit GET data to our webpage. However, we don't want users accessing the webpage any other way than the program. We can prevent users from sharing the program using HWID authentication, but nothing prevents them from using a packet scanner to get the URL of the webpage. We thought about user-agent authentication, which we will implement, but user-agents can easily be spoofed. So my question is, how can we prevent users from accessing the webpage directly, instead of through the program? Even if you don't have an answer that will completely work, anything that will help deter them would be nice. Currently we will be implementing: HWID Authentication to use the program User-Agent Authentication to access the web page Instant IP Blacklisting to anyone accessing the webpage without the proper User-Agent

Using the Module Pattern for larger projects

I'm interested in using the Module Pattern to better organize my future projects. Unfortunately, there are only a few brief tutorials and proof-of-concept examples of the Module Pattern. Using the module pattern, I would like to organize projects into this sort of structure: project.arm.object.method(); Where "project" is my global project name, "arm" is a sub-section or branch of the project, "object" is an individual object, and so on to the methods and properties. Using Bundler along with preinstalled gems

So I've got thin installed the old fashioned way: gem install thin I put an app on the server and installed all of its required gems via bundler: bundle install But, when I tried to start the app with thin start, it can't find any of the bundler-installed gems since they're not installed in the default gems directory. My question is: how do I make this work? Do I need to install thin via bundler as well? Will that still set up the thin executable in /usr/bin so I can start it from the command line like normal? How can I perform action from ASP.NET MVC with different user credentials?

Hopefully this explanation will make sense, but what is the best way (if it is even possible) to pass along user credentials to preform a specific application from an ASP.NET MVC application. Currently I am working on trying to create directories on another server, we can't do this using the generic credentials that the application is running with; however, we have been told that we can if we pass the credentials of the user currently using the application along. Currently we are running on IIS 6.0 but will be moving to IIS 7.0 in the near future and likewise we are using Integrated Windows authentication for the web applications.

Translate a webpage in PHP

I'm looking to translate a webpage in PHP 5 so I can save the translation and make it easily accessible via mydomain.com/lang/fr/category/article.html rather than users having to go through google translate. I've found various easy ways to translate text via CURL, however what i'd really like to be able to do is translate an entire webpage but obviously ignore the tags. The problem is that Google Translate messes up all the HTML tags, class names etc Does anyone know of a php class that can translate an entire webpage whilst ignoring the tags? I'm guessing it may be possible via advanced regular expressions or something like that, but i'm not sure. I can't just curl Google's response as i'll have all the extra JS that they put in. Any ideas?

Using the Microsoft Ajax Minifier with Web Setup project & Source Control

I've just started investigating the Microsoft Ajax Minifer 4.0 for use with a Visual Studio 2008 Web Application I work on. It's proven easy enough to hook it into the .csproj file so it produced .min.js files for all scripts, however I'm stumped as to how to integrate this with the Web Setup project & Source Control. Essentially what I want to do is have the resultant .min.js files included in the Web Setup project without having them included in Source Control because: Having to check them out prior to the build being executing is a pain (the minifier cannot modify them if they're not checked out). As they're created as a "build artifact" it just seems wrong to have them stored under source control. The only option I've managed to come across so far is to explicitly include the .min.js files as part of the Setup project by right clicking on the Web Setup project and choosing "Add File", and then having the relevant folder hierarchy duplicated in "File System on Target Machine" so that I can force the file to the correct location. This is neither elegant or simple/robust as: It requires me to manually add every minified js file to the Web Setup project by hand Maintain a copy of the relevant directory structure in both the Web Application project and the Web Setup project Remember to add any new js files minified versions to the Web Setup project Is there a better way of doing this?

HQL query for entity with max value

The following query sort of works: Select f.name, max(f.version) from FeatureList f group by f.name The trouble is that won't populate the key field, which I need to contain the key of the record with the highest version number for the given FeatureList. If I add f.key in the select it won't work because it's not in the group by or an aggregate and if I put it in the group by the whole thing stops working and it just gives me every version as a separate entity. So, can anybody help?

How can a Windows program temporarily change its time zone?

I've written a function to return the time_t value corresponding to midnight on a given day. When there is no midnight for a given day, it returns the earliest time available; that situation can occur, for example, when Egypt enters daylight-saving time. This year, the time change takes effect at midnight on the night of April 29, so the clock goes directly from 23:59 to 01:00. Now I'm writing unit tests for this function, and one of the tests should replicate the Egypt scenario. In Unix, I can accomplish it like this: putenv("TZ", "Egypt", true); tzset(); After doing that, further calls to localtime behave as if they're in Egypt instead of Minnesota, and my tests pass. Merely setting the environment variable doesn't have any effect on Windows, though. What can I do to make the unit test think it's somewhere else without affecting the rest of the programs running on the system?

Getting Revisions from CVS repository

Hi, I am trying to get somehow all the revision log that were made to a particular file, but I seem to stupid to do that :( To checkout a module I do the following CVSROOT="/home/projects/stuff/" cvs co myworkingdir within myworkingdir I have a testfile called paper.tex and from this I wanna try to get the revisions but I tried the following but nothing works ... CVSROOT="/home/projects/stuff/" cvs log paper.tex cvs log: cannot open CVS/Entries for reading: No such file or directory cvs log: nothing known about paper.tex -bash-3.2$ CVSROOT="/home/projects/stuff/" cvs log myworkingdir/paper.tex cvs [log aborted]: no such directory `myworkingdir' Anyone an idea how I could get the log of the revisions of the paper.tex file in the myworkingdir module?
