  • SQL: How to join a view with a table?

    - by gamerzfuse
    CREATE VIEW qtyorderedview AS SELECT titleditors.title_id, titleditors.ed_id, salesdetails.title_id, salesdetails.qty_shipped FROM titleditors, salesdetails WHERE titleditors.title_id = salesdetails.title_id I am using the above SQL statement to create a view. I need to show Editors First Name, Last Name, City where they shipped more than 50 books. The three tables I have are: create table editors ( ed_id char(11), ed_lname varchar(20), ed_fname varchar(20), ed_pos varchar(12), phone varchar(10), address varchar(30), city varchar(20), state char(2), zip char(5), ed_boss char(11)); create table titleditors ( ed_id char(11), title_id char(6), ed_ord integer); create table salesdetails ( sonum integer, qty_ordered integer, qty_shipped integer, title_id char(6), date_shipped date); Can anyone tell me what the second Join code would be to create this result? My first view works fine, but I don't know how to join it to the second table to achieve this result? I didn't make the tables, I just have to work with what I was given. Thanks in advance!

  • Singleton code linker errors in vc 9.0. Runs fine in linux compiled with gcc

  • C -Segmentation fault !

    - by FILIaS
    It seems at least weird to me... The program runs normally.But after I call the enter() function for the 4th time,there is a segmentation fault!I would appreciate any help. With the following function enter() I wanna add user commands' datas to a list. [Some part of the code is already posted on another question of me, but I think I should post it again...as it's a different problem I'm facing now.] /* struct for all the datas that user enters on file*/ typedef struct catalog { char short_name[50]; char surname[50]; signed int amount; char description[1000]; struct catalog *next; }catalog,*catalogPointer; catalogPointer current; catalogPointer head = NULL; void enter(void) //user command: i <name> <surname> <amount> <description> { int n,j=2,k=0; char temp[1500]; char *short_name,*surname,*description; signed int amount; char* params = strchr(command,' ') + 1; //strchr returns a pointer to the 1st space on the command.U want a pointer to the char right after that space. strcpy(temp, params); //params is saved as temp. char *curToken = strtok(temp," "); //strtok cuts 'temp' into strings between the spaces and saves them to 'curToken' printf("temp is:%s \n",temp); printf("\nWhat you entered for saving:\n"); for (n = 0; curToken; ++n) //until curToken ends: { if (curToken) { short_name = malloc(strlen(curToken) + 1); strncpy(short_name, curToken, sizeof (short_name)); } printf("Short Name: %s \n",short_name); curToken = strtok(NULL," "); if (curToken) { surname = malloc(strlen(curToken) + 1); strncpy(surname, curToken,sizeof (surname)); } printf("SurName: %s \n",surname); curToken = strtok(NULL," "); if (curToken) { //int * amount= malloc(sizeof (signed int *)); char *chk; amount = (int) strtol(curToken, &chk, 10); if (!isspace(*chk) && *chk != 0) fprintf(stderr,"Warning: expected integer value for amount, received %s instead\n",curToken); } printf("Amount: %d \n",amount); curToken = strtok(NULL,"\0"); if (curToken) { description = malloc(strlen(curToken) + 1); strncpy(description, curToken, sizeof (description)); } printf("Description: %s \n",description); break; } if (findEntryExists(head, surname,short_name) != NULL) //call function in order to see if entry exists already on the catalog printf("\nAn entry for <%s %s> is already in the catalog!\nNew entry not entered.\n",short_name,surname); else { printf("\nTry to entry <%s %s %d %s> in the catalog list!\n",short_name,surname,amount,description); newEntry(&head,short_name,surname,amount,description); printf("\n**Entry done!**\n"); } // Maintain the list in alphabetical order by surname. } catalogPointer findEntryExists (catalogPointer head, char num[],char first[]) { catalogPointer p = head; while (p != NULL && strcmp(p->surname, num) != 0 && strcmp(p->short_name,first) != 0) { p = p->next; } return p; } catalogPointer newEntry (catalog** headRef,char short_name[], char surname[], signed int amount, char description[]) { catalogPointer newNode = (catalogPointer)malloc(sizeof(catalog)); catalogPointer first; catalogPointer second; catalogPointer tmp; first=head; second=NULL; strcpy(newNode->short_name, short_name); strcpy(newNode->surname, surname); newNode->amount=amount; strcpy(newNode->description, description); while (first!=NULL) { if (strcmp(surname,first->surname)>0) second=first; else if (strcmp(surname,first->surname)==0) { if (strcmp(short_name,first->short_name)>0) second=first; } first=first->next; } if (second==NULL) { newNode->next=head; head=newNode; } else //SEGMENTATION APPEARS WHEN IT GETS HERE! { tmp=second->next; newNode->next=tmp; first->next=newNode; } } UPDATE: SegFault appears only when it gets on the 'else' loop of InsertSort() function.   • I'd like to know why a function executes fine when called from x but not when called from y

    - by Roland
    When called from archive(), readcont(char *filename) executes fine! Called from runoptions() though, it fails to list the files "archived"! why is this? The program must run in terminal. Use -h as a parameter to view the usage. This program is written to "archive" text files into ".rldzip" files. readcont( char *x) should show the files archived in file (*x) a) Successful call Use the program to archive 3 text files: rldzip.exe a.txt b.txt c.txt FILEXY -a archive() will call readcont and it will work showing the files archived after the binary FILEXY will be created. b) Unsuccessful call After the file is created, use: rldzip.exe FILEXY.rldzip -v You can see that the function crashes! I'd like to know why is this happening! /* Sa se scrie un program care: a) arhiveaza fisiere b) dezarhiveaza fisierele athivate */ #include<stdio.h> #include<stdlib.h> #include<conio.h> #include<string.h> struct content{ char *text; char *flname; }*arc; FILE *f; void readcont(char *x){ FILE *p; if((p = fopen(x, "rb")) == NULL){ perror("Critical error: "); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } content aux; int i; fread(&i, sizeof(int), 1, p); printf("\nFiles in %s \n\n", x); while(i-- >1 && fread(&aux, sizeof(struct content), 1, p) != 0) printf("%s \n", aux.flname); fclose(p); printf("\n\n"); } void archive(int argc, char **argv){ int i; char inttext[5000], textline[1000]; //Allocate dynamic memory for the content to be archived! arc = (content*)malloc(argc * sizeof(content)); for(i=1; i< argc; i++) { if((f = fopen(argv[i], "r")) == NULL){ printf("%s: ", argv[i]); perror(""); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } while(!feof(f)){ fgets(textline, 5000, f); strcat(inttext, textline); } arc[i-1].text = (char*)malloc(strlen(inttext) + 1); strcpy(arc[i-1].text, inttext); arc[i-1].flname = (char*)malloc(strlen(argv[i]) + 1); strcpy(arc[i-1].flname, argv[i]); fclose(f); } char *filen; filen=(char*)malloc(strlen(argv[argc])+1+7); strcpy(filen, argv[argc]); strcat(filen, ".rldzip"); f = fopen(filen, "wb"); fwrite(&argc, sizeof(int), 1, f); fwrite(arc, sizeof(content), argc, f); fclose(f); printf("Success!   • Issues with dynamically allocating a string array

    - by Jason Block
    Brand new to C. I am trying to dynamically allocate the array frags2 of size numberOfFrags and copy over the contents of the original array to it. I have tried numerous approaches and searching and do not understand what is going wrong here. Sizeof on the new array returns 0 instead of what I thought I malloc'd. Any help would be much appreciated! int main(int argc, const char* argv[]) { char* frags[MAX_FRAG_COUNT]; FILE* fp = fopen(argv[1], "r"); int numberOfFrags = ReadAllFragments(fp, frags, MAX_FRAG_COUNT); fclose(fp); char** frags2 = (char**)malloc(numberOfFrags * sizeof(char*)); for (int i = 0; i < numberOfFrags; i++) { frags2[i] = frags[i]; } qsort(frags2, sizeof(frags2) / sizeof(char *), sizeof(char*), cstring_cmp);

I assumed my program will perform those operations: transpose, negate, add, and multiply matices according to the users choice: /* once this program is compiled and executed, it will perform the basic matrix * operations: negation, transpose, addition, and multiplication. */ #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #define MAX 10 int readmatrix(FILE *input, char martixname[6],int , mat[10][10], int i, int j); void printmatrix(char matrixname[6], int mat[10][10], int i, int j); void Negate(char matrixname[6], int mat[10][10], int i, int j); void add(char matrixname[6], int mat[10][10],int i, int k); void multiply(char matrixname[], int mat[][10], char A[], int i, int k); void transpose (char matrixname[], int mat[][10], char A[], int); void printT(int mat[][10], int); int selctoption(); char selectmatrix(); int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { char matrixtype[6]; int mat[][10]; FILE *filein; int size; int optionop; int matrixop; int option; if (argc != 2) { printf("Usage: executable input.\n"); exit(0); } filein = fopen(argv[1], "r"); if (!filein) { printf("ERROR: input file not found.\n"); exit (0); } size = readmatrix (filein, matrixtype); printmatrix(matrix[][10], size); option = selectoption(); matrixtype = selectmatrix(); //printf("You have: %5.2f ", deposit); optionop = readmatrix(option, matrix[][10], size); if (choiceop == 6) { printf("Thanks for using the matrix operation program.\n"); exit(0); } printf("Please select from the following matrix operations:\n") printf("\t1. Print matrix\n"); printf("\t2. Negate matrix\n"); printf("\t3. Transpose matrix\n"); printf("\t4. Add matrices\n"); printf("\t5. Multiply matrices\n"); printf("\t6. Quit\n"); fclose(filein); return 0; } do { printf("Please select option(1-%d):", optionop); scanf("%d", &matrixop); } while(matrixop <= 0 || matrixop > optionop); void readmatrix (FILE *in, int mat[][10], char A[], int i, int j) { int i=0,j = 0; while (fscanf(in, "%d", &mat[i][j]) != EOF) return 0; } // I would appreciate anyone's feedback.

  • Need help to debug application using .Net and MySQL

    - by Tim Murphy
    What advice can you give me on how to track down a bug I have while inserting data into MySQL database with .Net? The error message is: MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlException: Duplicate entry '26012' for key 'StockNumber_Number_UNIQUE' Reviewing of the log proves that StockNumber_Number of 26012 has not been inserted yet. Products in use. Visual Studio 2008. mysql.data.dll 6.0.4.0. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and Windows 2003 32 bit. Custom built ORM framework (have source code). Importing data from Access 2003 database. The code works fine for 3000 - 5000 imports. The record being imported that causes the problem in a full run works fine if just importing by itself. I've also seen the error on other records if I sort the data to be imported a different way. Have tried import with and without transactions. Have logged the hell out of the system. The SQL command to create the table: CREATE TABLE `RareItems_RareItems` ( `RareItemKey` CHAR(36) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, `StockNumber_Text` VARCHAR(7) NOT NULL, `StockNumber_Number` INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, UNIQUE INDEX `StockNumber_Number_UNIQUE` (`StockNumber_Number` ASC), `OurPercentage` NUMERIC , `SellPrice` NUMERIC(19, 2) , `Author` VARCHAR(250) , `CatchWord` VARCHAR(250) , `Title` TEXT , `Publisher` VARCHAR(250) , `InternalNote` VARCHAR(250) , `DateOfPublishing` VARCHAR(250) , `ExternalNote` LONGTEXT , `Description` LONGTEXT , `Scrap` LONGTEXT , `SuppressionKey` CHAR(36) NOT NULL, `TypeKey` CHAR(36) NOT NULL, `CatalogueStatusKey` CHAR(36) NOT NULL, `CatalogueRevisedDate` DATETIME , `CatalogueRevisedByKey` CHAR(36) NOT NULL, `CatalogueToBeRevisedByKey` CHAR(36) NOT NULL, `DontInsure` BIT NOT NULL, `ExtraCosts` NUMERIC(19, 2) , `IsWebReady` BIT NOT NULL, `LocationKey` CHAR(36) NOT NULL, `LanguageKey` CHAR(36) NOT NULL, `CatalogueDescription` VARCHAR(250) , `PlacePublished` VARCHAR(250) , `ToDo` LONGTEXT , `Headline` VARCHAR(250) , `DepartmentKey` CHAR(36) NOT NULL, `Temp1` INT , `Temp2` INT , `Temp3` VARCHAR(250) , `Temp4` VARCHAR(250) , `InternetStatusKey` CHAR(36) NOT NULL, `InternetStatusInfo` LONGTEXT , `PurchaseKey` CHAR(36) NOT NULL, `ConsignmentKey` CHAR(36) , `IsSold` BIT NOT NULL, `RowCreated` DATETIME NOT NULL, `RowModified` DATETIME NOT NULL ); The SQL command and parameters to insert the record: INSERT INTO `RareItems_RareItems` (`RareItemKey`, `StockNumber_Text`, `StockNumber_Number`, `OurPercentage`, `SellPrice`, `Author`, `CatchWord`, `Title`, `Publisher`, `InternalNote`, `DateOfPublishing`, `ExternalNote`, `Description`, `Scrap`, `SuppressionKey`, `TypeKey`, `CatalogueStatusKey`, `CatalogueRevisedDate`, `CatalogueRevisedByKey`, `CatalogueToBeRevisedByKey`, `DontInsure`, `ExtraCosts`, `IsWebReady`, `LocationKey`, `LanguageKey`, `CatalogueDescription`, `PlacePublished`, `ToDo`, `Headline`, `DepartmentKey`, `Temp1`, `Temp2`, `Temp3`, `Temp4`, `InternetStatusKey`, `InternetStatusInfo`, `PurchaseKey`, `ConsignmentKey`, `IsSold`, `RowCreated`, `RowModified`) VALUES (@RareItemKey, @StockNumber_Text, @StockNumber_Number, @OurPercentage, @SellPrice, @Author, @CatchWord, @Title, @Publisher, @InternalNote, @DateOfPublishing, @ExternalNote, @Description, @Scrap, @SuppressionKey, @TypeKey, @CatalogueStatusKey, @CatalogueRevisedDate, @CatalogueRevisedByKey, @CatalogueToBeRevisedByKey, @DontInsure, @ExtraCosts, @IsWebReady, @LocationKey, @LanguageKey, @CatalogueDescription, @PlacePublished, @ToDo, @Headline, @DepartmentKey, @Temp1, @Temp2, @Temp3, @Temp4, @InternetStatusKey, @InternetStatusInfo, @PurchaseKey, @ConsignmentKey, @IsSold, @RowCreated, @RowModified) @RareItemKey = 0b625bd6-776d-43d6-9405-e97159d172a6 @StockNumber_Text = 199305 @StockNumber_Number = 26012 @OurPercentage = 22.5 @SellPrice = 1250 @Author = SPARRMAN, Anders. @CatchWord = COOK: SECOND VOYAGE @Title = A Voyage Round the World with Captain James Cook in H.M.S.   • Custom string class (C++)

    - by Sanctus2099
    Hey guys. I'm trying to write my own C++ String class for educational and need purposes. The first thing is that I don't know that much about operators and that's why I want to learn them. I started writing my class but when I run it it blocks the program but does not do any crash. Take a look at the following code please before reading further: class CString { private: char* cstr; public: CString(); CString(char* str); CString(CString& str); ~CString(); operator char*(); operator const char*(); CString operator+(const CString& q)const; CString operator=(const CString& q); }; First of all I'm not so sure I declared everything right. I tried googleing about it but all the tutorials about overloading explain the basic ideea which is very simple but lack to explain how and when each thing is called. For instance in my = operator the program calls CString(CString& str); but I have no ideea why. I have also attached the cpp file below: CString::CString() { cstr=0; } CString::CString(char *str) { cstr=new char[strlen(str)]; strcpy(cstr,str); } CString::CString(CString& q) { if(this==&q) return; cstr = new char[strlen(q.cstr)+1]; strcpy(cstr,q.cstr); } CString::~CString() { if(cstr) delete[] cstr; } CString::operator char*() { return cstr; } CString::operator const char* () { return cstr; } CString CString::operator +(const CString &q) const { CString s; s.cstr = new char[strlen(cstr)+strlen(q.cstr)+1]; strcpy(s.cstr,cstr); strcat(s.cstr,q.cstr); return s; } CString CString::operator =(const CString &q) { if(this!=&q) { if(cstr) delete[] cstr; cstr = new char[strlen(q.cstr)+1]; strcpy(cstr,q.cstr); } return *this; } For testing I used a code just as simple as this CString a = CString("Hello") + CString(" World"); printf(a); I tried debugging it but at a point I get lost. First it calls the constructor 2 times for "hello" and for " world". Then it get's in the + operator which is fine. Then it calls the constructor for the empty string. After that it get's into "CString(CString& str)" and now I'm lost. Why is this happening? After this I noticed my string containing "Hello World" is in the destructor (a few times in a row). Again I'm very puzzeled. After converting again from char* to Cstring and back and forth it stops. It never get's into the = operator but neither does it go further. printf(a) is never reached. I use VisualStudio 2010 for this but it's basically just standard c++ code and thus I don't think it should make that much of a difference
