  • Tool to determine filesystem on removable media

    I have a CompactFlash card that is used in a custom piece of hardware. WAV files are written to it. Windows doesn't recognize the media and wants to format it, which rules out FAT 16/32, NTFS, UDF, etc. Is there a Windows tool that can determine what filesystem the media is using and possible read the contents? I've tried dskprobe.exe, but it did not work.

    I would like to connect apache to tomcat via mod_jk (same machine).     Hello, When some thing shared on network using windows network share option. Some people use path like \\something\something\something$ I'm don't know if this is correct way or not. but as far as I remember there is a dollar sign. Can any one please tell me. What is this notation? Where can I find more details about this? What is samba server/sharing? I don't understand when people use it. Is it something related to Linux? EDIT I'm a programmer. I guess this file sharing on network using windows uses client server architecture. I want to know what is this server on windows called? What protocol does it use? client is of course our windows explorer.exe? Which service in services.msc is responsible for this?

  • Dropped Hotmail Emails

    So I use a custom Hotmail domain name. Sometimes I send emails to people but they never reply. I ask these people and they say that they never got the email. It's like packets are being dropped somehow. I just send regular emails from the online email application. One thing to note is that most of the time the dropped emails are the emails that have not been sent to other Hotmail users.

    I've started getting an error on my windows machine when sending an email through Windows Mail, using Mobile Me: An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Test' Server Error: 503 Server Response: 503 5.7.0 TLS already in use. Server: 'smtp.me.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC65 Protocol: SMTP Port: 587 Secure(SSL): Yes I've checked and double-checked my credentials, and outbound mail settings, and they're correct. I've deleted and re-added the account, and I get the same issue. I'm able to receive email fine. Note - this issue only affects one PC - my laptop has no issues. Any suggestions on what Error 503 means, or how I would fix this?

    I get mixed results when reading information security articles, some of them stating that in order to do something similar you need to also setup some sort of honeypot with a running access point and local Web server to intercept traffic. Then other articles seem to indicate you don't need that, and you can just run Wireshark, and it will detect all packets being sent on the network. How could that be, and what exactly is a packet sniffer doing to get those packets? Does this involve intercepting wireless signals transmitted over the wireless protocol and frequency via the NIC on the computer running a program like Wireshark?

  • Firewall issue with multiple SIP PROXY / REGISTRAR servers

    Hi We have a pair of Internet-facing SIP PROXY/REGISTRAR servers (for resilienced and load-balancing). When a SIP phone registers, it will be handled by one of the REGISTRAR servers (round-robin DNS) - and since this registration is renewed, the firewall port/address translation is maintained. Therefore, when a call is to be sent back to the phone the INVITE message passes successfully through the firewall. However, it is likely that the phone may register with one of the two servers, but the INVITE may come from the other. In this situation, the call fails since there is no translation in place on the firewall. Is there a feature in the SIP protocol to facilitate this? Any other ideas? As our traffic grows, we will no doubt end-up with more than two servers - so the problem will escalate. Thanks, Mike

    I'm trying to force a particular directory to require only allowed IPs and a valid username/password through basic authorization. To ensure that the username/password are sent in encrypted form, I want the directory to also force SSL use.     Are there any computer vendors (like Dell, Lenovo, or..) that still sell laptops with an internal serial port? We are using several modem and other kind of box at work that have to be used (and/or programmed) with serial port (RS232, DB9, ..). We tried many usb/pcmcia serial adapter which run fine when used to load programs on the boxes but not with modems. The protocol behind the RTC connection (with modem) need timer we are not able to reach when using an adapter (maybe until we find a very good adapter), and that leads to my question..

  • Why am I getting this SVN can't move .svn/tmp/x to trunk/x error?

    I am trying to checkout into the virtualbox shared folder with svn 1.7 in ubuntu 12.04 running as a guest on a windows 7 host. I had read that this error was a 1.6 problem, and updated - but am still receiving the error: svn: E000071: Can't move '/mnt/hostShare/code/www/.svn/tmp/svn-hsOG5X' to '/mnt/hostShare/code/www/trunk/statement.aspx?d=201108': Protocol error I found this blog post about the same error in a mac environment, but am finding that changing the folder/file permissions does nothing. vim .svn/entires just has the number 12 - does this need to be changed? Thank you for any assistance! (just another reason for why I prefer git...)

  • How can I share a Windows 7 library with anonymous access without using a Homegroup?

    The "homegroup" feature is useless, because it requires a password, and therefore doesn't support anonymous, no-hassle access to shares from devices such as my Sony Bravia TV and non-Windows7 machines. So I turned off homegroup and reverted to the standard shared folders protocol. I'd like to share my Music "Library", so I can play files from my TV through the Surround Sound System, but there seems to be no option to share a library folder other than through a homegroup. I don't want to have to individually share the folders that belong to the library, because that would defeat the purposes of the library, which is to manage which folders are included in the library while also providing an easily accessible view of them all at once. Does anyone know how to share a Windows 7 library without that useless homegroup feature?

    I'd like to enable the use of the AES 256 GCM encryption instead of the AES 256 CBC. We already have ECC certificates based on ECDSA so that pre-requisite has been fullfilled. The certificate has a SHA-256 signature and uses a 256-bit ECC keyset. The ciphersuite I'd like to use: TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384_P384 This is our ciphersuite order: TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384_P384, TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384_P521, TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384_P384, TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384_P521, TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA_P256, TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA_P256, TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384_P256 Still when I check the website it says we use TLS 1.2 and ECDHE_ECDSA for key exchange AES_256_CBC encryption and SHA1 for message digest. I suspect it uses this suite for some reason: TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA_P256 When I remove that ciphersuite the site has a protocol mismatch and won't load the https anymore. Does anyone know how to enable the ciphersuite? Did I forget to set something in the registry or do I need to do something else to enable that specific suite. Thanks in advance!

  • Updating Cisco VPN config to add vpnc support

    I have a Cisco 1841 configured for VPN connections of two types: Peer-to-peer for partners' routers (IPsec) — using different crypto isakmp key and crypto map with set peer, set transform-set, match address for every peer (same map name, different priorities). That crypto map name is added to the WAN interface. Client access (PPTP) — using vpdn-group with accept-dialin protocol pptp. Now, a new partner wants to connect using vpnc client. The latter needs IPSec ID (group name) and IPSec secret in addition to username and password. I guess that IPSec secret is pre-shared key that can be specified in crypto isakmp key on Cisco. But I could not find any VPN tutorials involving groups. Hence, my questions: How to add IPSec ID (group name) and IPSec secret on Cisco router for vpnc connections? Should I add a new crypto map matching all addresses as well? Is it possible to add this configuration without breaking the existing setup? Thank you.

What is the best way to realize my setup? Any short how-tos? How can I announce all players to use the proxy? Route all rtsp/mms/http-requests through my proxy? Announce the proxy with DHCP-releases?     We're currently using Cleo LexiCom as our server software for receiving EDI transmissions via the AS2 protocol. We have 7 trading partners per year, and this runs us about $800/year for support from Cleo. We need to expand from 7 trading partners to 10 or so, and Cleo charges roughly $600 per new host, plus an expanded yearly support fee. My question(s) are: Does anyone know of a cheaper developer of AS2 server software, and perhaps one that doesn't charge per new host? Does anyone have any clue why we are being charged an upfront fee for new hosts, and if this is a standard practice for AS2 software providers? It seems really odd that we are required to pay upfront costs for this. I could completely understand an increase in the yearly support, however.

  • VPN Error 868 when connecting even if using IP address

    I am trying to connect to a public VPN from VPNGate. However when I attempt to connect to a VPN from the list using MS-SSTP protocol I get the following error: Error 868: The remote connection was not made because the name of the remote access server did not resolve. If I open a command prompt and ping the address in question it resolves to the IP shown on the listing. If I configure the VPN using that IP address directly I still receive the error even though the name no longer needs to resolve. This was working yesterday but it seems the VPN I was using has been removed from the list. What is happening and how can I fix it?

    I use the dvorak keyboard layout on windows 7. Also, I have a bunch of custom keys mapped using autohotkey. I'm curious, is it possible to have the guest only receive the keyboard events produced by the host? I don't really know how the host communicates keyboard strokes to guests so I don't know how to enable this or if it's possible. Thoughts? Host OS: Win7 x64 Guest: Unbuntu 9.10 x64
