• My website dns_server_failure when using University Connection

  My website used to open just fine in the past when I use my University connection, but now since I transfered my website to another hosting company this problem started to appear. Some times the website open and sometimes I get this alot!: Network Error (dns_server_failure) Your request could not be processed because an error occurred contacting the DNS server. The DNS server may be temporarily unavailable, or there could be a network problem. For assistance, contact your network support team. Do you have any idea? I checked using websites checking tools and my website was running just fine on any other connection , ADSL, 3g but except my University connection. Thanks in advance :) UPDATE: When I open my website using the Real IP Server it does open just fine. But with my domain nope. Also, even other websites that are hosted on my server cannot be opened too

• Google is not indexing my entire site despite having a sitemap

  I have an e-commerce website www.beyondtime.in. I have been constantly monitoring Googlebot crawling on my website and my webmaster account. Lately, I have found two issues that I have not been able to understand. 1.) The Google Bots have been only crawling www.beyondtime.in/telecom.php when the URL is not even valid. What needs to be done to let Google crawl other pages of the website as well? 2.) The second question is about the Google Webmaster account, where I've submitted my sitemap with 227 URLs. Out of that, only 156 have been indexed. None of the images of my website have been indexed by Google.

• Set Up Of Common Name Of SSL Certificate To Protect Plesk Panel

  A PCI Compliance scanner is balking that the self signed SSL certificate protecting secure access to Plesk Panel contains a name mismatch between the location of the Plesk Panel and the name on the certificate, namely the self-signed cert's name is "Parallels" and the domain to reach Plesk is 'ip address:8443'. So I figured I would go ahead and get a free SSL certificate to try to fiddle with this error. But when I generated the certificate I used my server domain name as the site name when I generated the certificate. So if I visit 'domain name:8443' all is fine, no ssl warning. But if I visit 'ip address:8443' (which I believe is what the scanner does) I get the certificate name mismatch error, Digicert's ssl checker says that the certificate name should be the ip address. Can I even generate a certificate whose common name is the ip address? I am tempted to say I should just do what the PCI scanner accepts, but what is really the correct common name to use? Anybody run into this issue before?

Latest stable Ubuntu - inbuilt bluetooth module. Hp Probook 6470b. UPDATE Running sixad via: sudo apt-add-repository ppa:falk-t-j/qtsixa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install sixad Then: sudo sixpair sixad --start And turning off bluetooth to disconnect the PS3 controller and ctrl c the terminal means bluetooth can't be reactivated. Even after a reboot. Help is appreciated! I'm very new to Ubuntu so be gentle. UPDATE 2 Reinstalling bluez, fixes it...

• How to move Objects smoothly like swimming arround

  I have a Box2D project that is about to create a view where the user looks from the Sky onto Water. Or perhaps on a bathtub filled with water or something like this. The Object which holds the fluid actually does not matter, what matters is the movement of the bodies, because they should move like drops of grease on a soup, or wood on water, I can even imagine the the fluid is mercurial, extreme heavy and "lazy". How can I manipulate the bodies (every frame or time by time) to make them move like this? I started with randomly manipulation their linear velocity, but I turned out that this not very smooth and looks quite hard. Is it a better idea to check their velocity and apply impulses? • How to install Ubuntu over http in virtual manager?

  Hi, I am having a situation where I can not use a CD or PxE boot or wubi to install.I need to necessarily do an http install of Ubuntu.I am basically trying to create a guest OS in a virtualization setup on Xen on a non VT hardware. On a non VT hardware the virt-manager does not allow to install from local ISO or PXE even the only option is via a URL on http:// Here is what I did: 1) Download ubuntu 10.04 32 bit ISO 2) Kept it in /var/www (apache2 is running) 3) renamed it to ubuntu.iso and when I reached a stage where installation begins I gave path hxxp://localhost/ubuntu.iso but I got an error any installable distribution not found. 4) After this I did mkdir /var/www/sk mount -t iso9660 /var/www/ubuntu.iso /var/www/sk -o loop and this time during the installation I gave path http://localhost/sk I was able to see the contents in browser http://localhost/sk which you will see in a normal CD. But beginning installation I got same error ValueError: Could not find an installable distribution at 'http://localhost/sk So I want to just confirm if http install is done only this way or some other way because the installation is not proceeding.

• Cant get internet connection at all on Ubuntu 13.04

  I installed Ubuntu 13.04 alongside my Windows Vista, at the start of installation it doesn't connect to the internet to download updates during installation, also during installation towards the end it removes a lot of stuff that i couldn't catch the details of at the time, it won't find my internet connection even though windows does, i tried using the ethernet cable but it wouldn't pick that up either. So i clicked in Ubuntu... System, network-Browse Internet, then Windows Internet and it said "failed to retrieve share list from server:no such file or directory" how can i get Ubuntu to find my internet???

• "Yes, but that's niche."

  JavaOne 2012 has come to an end though it feels like it hasn't even started yet! What happened, time is a weird thing. Too many things to report on. James Gosling's appearance at the JavaOne community keynote was seen, by everyone (which is quite a lot) of people I talked to, as the highlight of the conference. It was interesting that the software for the Duke's Choice Award winning Liquid Robotics that James Gosling is now part of and came to talk about is a Swing application that uses the WorldWind libraries. It was also interesting that James Gosling pointed out to the conference: "There are things you can't do using HTML." That brings me to the wonderful counter argument to the above, which I spend my time running into a lot: "Yes, but that's niche." It's a killer argument, i.e., it kills all discussions completely in one fell swoop. Kind of when you're talking about someone and then this sentence drops into the conversation: "Yes, but she's got cancer now." Here's one implementation of "Yes, but that's niche": Person A: All applications are moving to the web, tablet, and mobile phone. That's especially true now with HTML5, which is going to wipe away everything everywhere and all applications are going to be browser based. Person B: What about air traffic control applications? Will they run on mobile phones too? And do you see defence applications running in a browser? Don't you agree that there are multiple scenarios imaginable where the Java desktop is the optimal platform for running applications? Person A: Yes, but that's niche. Here's another implementation, though it contradicts the above [despite often being used by the same people], since JavaFX is a Java desktop technology: Person A: Swing is dead. Everyone is going to be using purely JavaFX and nothing else. Person B: Does JavaFX have a docking framework and a module system? Does it have a plugin system?  These are some of the absolutely basic requirements of Java desktop software once you get to high end systems, e.g., banks, defence force, oil/gas services. Those kinds of applications need a web browser and so they love the JavaFX WebView component and they also love the animated JavaFX charting components. But they need so much more than that, i.e., an application framework. Aren't there requirements that JavaFX isn't meeting since it is a UI toolkit, just like Swing is a UI toolkit, and what they have in common is their lack, i.e., natively, of any kind of application framework? Don't people need more than a single window and a monolithic application structure? Person A: Yes, but that's niche. In other words, anything that doesn't fit within the currently dominant philosophy is "niche", for no other reason than that it doesn't fit within the currently dominant philosophy... regardless of the actual needs of real developers. Saying "Yes, but that's niche", kills the discussion completely, because it relegates one side of the conversation to the arcane and irrelevant corners of the universe. You're kind of like Cobol now, as soon as "Yes, but that's niche" is said. What's worst about "Yes, but that's niche" is that it doesn't enter into any discussion about user requirements, i.e., there's so few that need this particular solution that we don't even need to talk about them anymore. Note, of course, that I'm not referring specifically or generically to anyone or anything in particular. Just picking up from conversations I've picked up on as I was scurrying around the Hilton's corridors while looking for the location of my next presentation over the past few days. It does, however, mean that there were people thinking "Yes, but that's niche" while listening to James Gosling pointing out that HTML is not the be-all and end-all of absolutely everything. And so this all leaves me wondering: How many applications must be part of a niche for the niche to no longer be a niche? And what if there are multiple small niches that have the same requirements? Don't all those small niches together form a larger whole, one that should be taken seriously, i.e., a whole that is not a niche?

• Netbeans 7.01 in 12.04 repository, no javascript support

  Hi I've installed Netbeans 7.0.1 from ubuntu 12.04 repository, i'm having many issues, The most important is that I cannot have help in writing javascript. Each .js file appear as a usual text file and even javascript sintax in jsp pages appear as normal text. I've already checked in tools -- options -- misc-- files and i cannot find there the .js association and the text/javascript mime-type. Another issue, really awfull, is that I cannot access CVS server if i do not run Netbeans as a root user. Someone had the same troubles i listed above? Have you some tips for solving them avoiding to install a newer version from Netbeans website? thanks in advance

• Wobble effects not working on Ubuntu 12.04

  Just couple of days before installed Ubuntu 12.04 with all the necessary upgradations. Also installed Compiz Settings Manager & loved the animations & wobble effects of windows. But after restarting windows today, started receiving error messages & Wobble effects are disappeared. Also, other settings created by me in my last login, like small sidebar icons, too disappeared & unable to find even option in "All Settings Appearance" to resize the icons. Loved Ubuntu 12.04, specially Animation & Wobble effects but unhappy with these errors. Thanks in advance.

  So I wanted to extend my laptop battery life. After googleing a lot I found many tips and tricks. Some even in this site as well. Then I found this package in synaptic as well laptop-mode-tools. Now I am not well aware of what harddrive spinoffs are, so I have a dilemma of installing this package as it seems to remove acpi support as well. So my question is, how reliable is this package in battery life extension and what configurations should I use with it ? Also I stumbled upon some posts saying spinoffs may kill the harddrive as well. So can anyone clearify with some configuration tips especially for laptop-mode-tools. Thanks in advance

• Force usb to use same device id, instead of new one

  I am having some trouble in automating the task. I am testing some android based mobiles in linux machine. The automation script uses the device id under "/dev/bus/usb/001/"053" it will be always under bus 001 only.. But the dev is will be random like if i insert one mobile then the dev id will be 053, if remove and insert it again then the dev id will be 054.. The problem is, when some tests runs on the device and if device gets rebooted then new dev id is showing for the rebooted one and my scripts failing due to new dev id.. Is there any way to force usb devices to use same dev id instead of new one. So that there will be no issues to my tests even after device reboots. Thanks in advance.

• 5 Android Keyboard Replacements to Help You Type Faster

  Android allows developers to replace its keyboard with their own keyboard apps. This has led to experimentation and great new features, like the gesture-typing feature that’s made its way into Android’s official keyboard after proving itself in third-party keyboards. This sort of customization isn’t possible on Apple’s iOS or even Microsoft’s modern Windows environments. Installing a third-party keyboard is easy — install it from Google Play, launch it like another app, and it will explain how to enable it. Google Keyboard Google Keyboard is Android’s official keyboard, as seen on Google’s Nexus devices. However, there’s a good chance your Android smartphone or tablet comes with a keyboard designed by its manufacturer instead. You can install the Google Keyboard from Google Play, even if your device doesn’t come with it. This keyboard offers a wide variety of features, including a built-in gesture-typing feature, as popularized by Swype. It also offers prediction, including full next-word prediction based on your previous word, and includes voice recognition that works offline on modern versions of Android. Google’s keyboard may not offer the most accurate swiping feature or the best autocorrection, but it’s a great keyboard that feels like it belongs in Android. SwiftKey SwiftKey costs $4, although you can try it free for one month. In spite of its price, many people who rarely buy apps have been sold on SwiftKey. It offers amazing auto-correction and word-prediction features. Just mash away on your touch-screen keyboard, typing as fast as possible, and SwiftKey will notice your mistakes and type what you actually meant to type. SwiftKey also now has built-in support for gesture-typing via SwiftKey Flow, so you get a lot of flexibility. At $4, SwiftKey may seem a bit pricey, but give the month-long trial a try. A great keyboard makes all the typing you do everywhere on your phone better. SwiftKey is an amazing keyboard if you tap-to-type rather than swipe-to-type. Swype While other keyboards have copied Swype’s swipe-to-type feature, none have completely matched its accuracy. Swype has been designing a gesture-typing keyboard for longer than anyone else and its gesture feature still seems more accurate than its competitors’ gesture support. If you use gesture-typing all the time, you’ll probably want to use Swype. Swype can now be installed directly from Google Play without the old, tedious process of registering a beta account and sideloading the Swype app. Swype offers a month-long free trial and the full version is available for $1 afterwards. Minuum Minuum is a crowdfunded keyboard that is currently still in beta and only supports English. We include it here because it’s so interesting — it’s a great example of the kind of creativity and experimentation that happens when you allow developers to experiment with their own forms of keyboard. Minuum uses a tiny, minimum keyboard that frees up your screen space, so your touch-screen keyboard doesn’t hog your device’s screen. Rather than displaying a full keyboard on your screen, Minuum displays a single row of letters.  Each letter is small and may be difficult to hit, but that doesn’t matter — Minuum’s smart autocorrection algorithms interpret what you intended to type rather than typing the exact letters you press. Just swipe to the right to type a space and accept Minuum’s suggestion. At $4 for a beta version with no trial, Minuum may seem a bit pricy. But it’s a great example of the flexibility Android allows. If there’s a problem with this keyboard, it’s that it’s a bit late — in an age of 5″ smartphones with 1080p screens, full-size keyboards no longer feel as cramped. MessagEase MessagEase is another example of a new take on text input. Thankfully, this keyboard is available for free. MessagEase presents all letters in a nine-button grid. To type a common letter, you’d tap the button. To type an uncommon letter, you’d tap the button, hold down, and swipe in the appropriate direction. This gives you large buttons that can work well as touch targets, especially when typing with one hand. Like any other unique twist on a traditional keyboard, you’d have to give it a few minutes to get used to where the letters are and the new way it works. After giving it some practice, you may find this is a faster way to type on a touch-screen — especially with one hand, as the targets are so large. Google Play is full of replacement keyboards for Android phones and tablets. Keyboards are just another type of app that you can swap in. • Silverlight Cream Monday WP7 App Review # 2

  Today's Review (alphabetic order): GooNews, Grocery Shopping List, Need for Speed, SurfCube, and United Nations News. I'm a day late if these are going to be 'Monday' posts, but there are lots of apps, lots of goodness, and lots of email, so I might try to do 2 a week, we'll see. So once again I've got a small review of 5 apps that are either on my phone or have been. Disclaimers at the end. In this Issue:   GooNews is a very cool app from Shawn Wildermuth (AgiliTrain). I don't know if he uses this as a demo during his instruction, but it definitely serves a purpose... wanna pick up the top news items from Google on a never-ending basis? ... this is it. You can add your own keyword searches, and send stories to InstaPaper or share via email. I like this because it brings me the news quickly and updated, and works great. GooNews is by AgiliTrain and is Free This was a request by the author, and actually surprised me. I'm a big one for lists, but I would have just done a OneNote list to SkyDrive and to my phone. This app is a lot more than that, but will take you some setup to make it be 'yours'. For obvious reasons, there are no unit prices on things, so you have to set that up to get some idea of the cost of what you're shopping for. But if you do that, you'll get a nice total. Lots of thought went into the various categories and you can add your own. There's a bit of animation on the category selection that's nice. He seems to have covered all the bases necessary to use this, even shopping 'plans' that can be saved, and emailing of lists. As I said, I'm more of a raw list person, but if you take the time to set this up, it should work very nicely for you. Grocery Shopping List is by Grocery Shopper and is $0.99 ($1.99 after Feb 1) with a free trial. This was my 2nd commercial game I bought, and the one I've played the most. I ran the trial, thought it worked great, and bought it. I've had a lot of fun with this... there's no gas pedal.. your foot is in the carbeurator from the GO!, and unless you wanna tap the screen and brake like a little girl, just hang onto the steering wheel (the phone), and guide your way through. Hours of fun and challenges here. I like this because it's got some challenge to it, and the cars seem to be very realistic in their reactions. Need for Speed Undercover is by Electronic Arts is $4.99 and has a free trial. SurfCube Browser is another app by the folks that did the GuitarTuner I reviewed on Monday. You have to see SurfCube to believe it. You've probably seen the YouTube video, if not check SilverlightCream number 1017. The app works very solid, and just as the video demonstrates. I downloaded and tried this, and it immediately did 2 things: bought it, and pinned it to my start page. I like this because it's fun to work with, and it works great as a browser. I'm about *this* close to replacing the IE tile on my front page with SurfCube. SurfCube Browser is by Kinabalu Innovation Limited and is $1.99 and has a free trial. Coming in with another News app is United Nations News by Justin Angel. This is definitely a news aggregator for 'grown ups'... news, photos, videos, and radio broadcsts from the international community all in one very slick app. This is an amazingly well thought-out and complete app. Even better yet, Justin has the code on CodePlex. A very well-done International news aggregator. United Nations News is by Justin Angel and is Free. A few disclaimers: Feel free to write me about your app and tell me about it. While it would be very cool to receive a whole bunch of xap files to review, at this point, for technical reasons, I'm unable to side-load my device. Since I plan on only doing this one day a week (twice if I find time), and only 5, I may never get caught up, so if you send me some info, be patient. Re: games ... remember I'm old... I'm from the era of Colossal Cave and Zork. Duke-Nukem 2D and Captain Comic were awesome. I don't own an XBOX or any other game system, so take game reviews from my perspective -- who knows, it may be refreshing :) I won't pay for an app or game just to try it. If you expect me to test-drive your app, it's going to have to have a Free Trial. I'm still playing with the format, comments are welcome. • Direct3d - Code structure

  I'm learning directx in a master's degree and they taught us to have a GraphicsLayer class which is the one connecting with the direct3d library. That way this class is completly independent from the other classes (my game classes), meaning changing the renderer to OpenGL wouldn't require much effort but only changing the graphicLayer. This classe has it's LoadAssets, Paint methods, but I have a question, they told us to load all the assets inside this class. This means all these methods will be in the loadAssets method: D3DXCreateTextureFromFileEx(g_pD3DDevice,"tiles.png",0,0,1,0,D3DFMT_UNKNOWN,D3DPOOL_DEFAULT,D3DX_FILTER_NONE,D3DX_FILTER_NONE,NULL,NULL,NULL,&texTiles); // And more resources to load //... texTiles as you see is a LPDIRECT3DTEXTURE9 instance which is declared in the graphicLayer.h. So my question is, how do you manage all the resources? Do I have to declare in the .h all my game textures even if I'm not using them? How would you load only those resources there are in a scene and draw them in a code-strucured way?
