  • Is there a project setting that controls getting to Game Center's Sandbox?

    This is different from the others; it's cool. I know that your Bundle Identifier needs to match your iTunes Connect's version. I know you need to make a new AppleID through your dev app and not through Game Center. Most people get this fixed when they force quit their app and game center and launch theirs first. I am not one of those people. If I take the GKTapper tutorial and use my game's Bundle Identifier as the only change, things are good. On launch, it asks me if I want to use an existing or make a new account. But more importantly, it says * Sandbox *. (Before I log in, mind you; this is not an account problem at all.) Once inside I can see my achievements. If I load my game, I has a sad. On launch I get the same dialog, but it does not say Sandbox. My game is two weeks away from being done after many long months. Moving everything in to a new project is possible, but a pain. So the question is: What magic setting does GKTapper or a new project have that my game that I started in June does not that lets you get to Game Center's Sandbox?

  • My iOS app has a + in its name. Bundle is invalid due to this. Need help resolving

    I did find a couple of very similar or identical threads here but they seemed to end before full resolution. My app runs fine on my device with no build error. I am trying to submit app for approval and I get the following error, "This bundle is invalid. The executable name, as reported by CFBundleExecutable in the info.plist file may not contain any of these characters ..... +". So I opened my info.plist file and changed the info.plist file executable name from the macro ${EXECUTABLE_NAME} to the name of my app without the +. I did a new archive but then get an error saying the "codesign failed with exit code 1". In another thread I read to just change targets name removing the + from there and leaving the info.plist file with the macro for the executable name, restarting Xcode and then archiving again. That allowed me to archive but I received the same error in iTunes Connect. I have been working on this all day and don't find the solution. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Thank you for any help.

  • Magento, NGINX, PHP-FPM, APC, MEMCACHED, 16gb Ram CentOS, Spiking PHP-FPM to 100% CPU

    I have been trying to resolve my issue of spiking cpu caused by php-fpm processes. I've reduced the php-fpm config settings to: pm = ondemand pm.max_children = 12 pm.start_servers = 2 pm.min_spare_servers = 2 pm.max_spare_servers = 10 pm.max_requests = 500 php_admin_value[memory_limit] = 128M Problem still exists. I'm running a Joomla main site (which is having no problems) and a Magento store in a sub-directory. My server is a Linux CentOS, running NGINX, APC, Memcached, Full Page Cache and php-fpm. My server has 8 cores and 16gb dedicated ram. My host has shut down my server several times the past week because my php-fpm processes are consuming the entire network. A lot of the individual php-fpm processes are getting over 50% cpu. I've hired several "professionals" and none of them was able to help me, so now broke and stumped, I'm turning to you guys for help. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. table_cache=4096 I just noticed that someone changed my innodb_buffer_pool_size to 512M. Shouldn't this be set to 80% of available ram? So I have 16gb ram so it should be set at 12G; however, I set it at 10G. What do you think? I made that change and restart everything. Php-fpm is still spiking cpu.   • All the Gear and No Idea: Suggestions for re-designing my home/office/entertainment network

    Help/ Advice/ Suggestions please: I have a load of kit that I love but which currently operate in disconnected, sometimes counter-productive way. Because I never really had a masterplan I just added these things one after another and connected them up in ad hoc ways. Since I bought my Macbook I've found I spend much less time on the MacPro that was until then my main machine. Perversely, as my job involves writing .Net software, I spend a lot of Mac time actually inside a Windows 7 VM. I stream media from the HP box to the PS3 and thus to the TV, but its not without its limitations/annoyances. We listen to each other's iTunes libraries but the music files are all over the place and it would be good to know they were all safely in one location (and fully backed up). I need to come up with a strategy that will allow me to use all the kit for work, play (recording live music, making tunes, iMovie work), pushing/streaming media to the TV and sharing files with my other half (she uses a Windows laptop and her iPod touch). Ideally I'd like to be able to work on any of the machines and have a shared homedrive that was visible to all machines so all my current files were synced up wherever i was. It would be great if I could access everything securely and quickly over the web. I'd also like to be able to set up a background backup process. The kit list thus far: Apple MacPro 8GB/3x250GB RAID0 + 1TB Apple MacBook Pro 13" 8GB/250GB - I spend a lot of my work time on a Windows 7 VM on this. Crappy Acer laptop (for children's use - iPlayer, watching movies/tv files) HP Proliant Server 4GB/80GB+160GB+300GB Sun Ultra 10 2 x 80GB (old, but in top-notch condition) PS3 160GB iPod Classic 2 x 8GB iPod Touch Observations: Part of the problem is our dual use of Windows and OS X - we can't go for a pure NT style roaming profile. Because the server is also used for hosting test/beta applications and a SQL Server db, it can't be dedicated to file serving. The two Macs really could do with sharing a roaming profile or similar. I'd love to be able to do something useful with the Ultra 10. My other half has been trying to throw it away for over five years now and regularly ask what function it serves in my study :-( I've got no shortage of 500GB external USB hard drives iMovie files are very large and ideally would be processed on a RAID system. Apple's TimeMachine isn't so great. If anyone could suggest all or part of a setup that would fulfil some of my requirements I'd be very grateful. I am willing to consider purchasing one or two more bits of kit (an Apple TV and a Squeezebox have been moted by friends) if they will help make efficiencies rather than add to the chaos and confusion.   • iPhone 3.1 Black Screen

    Since I've updated my 3G iPhone to 3.1, it will become unresponsive after ~4-5 hours. It looks like it's off, but it's not. None of the buttons do anything that I can see. The only way I can get a screen back is to do a hard reset (Power + Home). Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do to fix it? I've had it 3 happen 3 times already. Very annoying. Apparently, the Discussions forum on Apple.com also shows lots of people are having the same problem. One guy said he did a restore and that fixed it for him, which I haven't tried yet because many others also tried that and it didn't help. A few others have said turning off WIFI fixes it for them, so I'm going to try that today. Another thing I've noticed is that now, when I plug in my iPhone to my Macbook Pro, iTunes 9 does not launch. It used to before the update. ** Further update and possible solution ** I left my iPhone plugged into my Macbook Pro yesterday while at work, and didn't use it much throughout the day. I noticed it didn't lock up once. I suspect this was because it was connected to a power source. I continued to use my iPhone with no problem yesterday and today. Still no lockups as of now. I personally think this was Spotlight and/or Genius "doing it's thing" from a new install. Kinda like an OS upgrade on your Mac... Spotlight has to rebuild itself and those first couple of hours can be kinda sluggish. This would be even more so on the iPhone where processing power is limited, and I'm sure the processor is clocked down a bit while on battery power, which would further amplify the problem. Again, just my guess. My iPhone is working fine now. ** Final Solution ** Update to 3.1.2. Problem solved.

  • How can I play my MP3 files through my stereo system?

    Here's the situation. Like many others I have my entire CD collection ripped to my PC, along side other music I've acquired through iTunes or Amazon MP3. Also like many others the speakers at my PC are underpowered, and likely included in my monitor as an afterthought. This is fine for most use: system sounds, YouTube, etc. Even games sounds and music. But I'd like something a little better for when I really want to listen to music. And I have it; in the next room — barely 25 feet away as the crow flies — sits a nice 400 watts stereo system. The stereo supports MP3 CDs, so up to this point I've just kept a few CD-RW disks around to keep most of my collection available. But it's time to move on to something a little more sophisticated. What are my options for using the MP3 files available on my computer as an input for this stereo? Some notes: I want to be able to control what song the stereo is playing without having to go to the PC, including setting up and retrieving playlists. Ideally this should even be able to wake the PC from sleep mode to start playing. I primarily use Windows Media Player on the PC (which runs Windows Vista). However, the files themselves live on a server running Windows Server 2008, and so I could also install something on the server and run everything from there. The axillary input on the stereo is unfortunately limited to a 1/8 inch stereo mini-plug. I'm loath to run wires across two rooms, and I'm considering moving the stereo to the garage at some point. Therefore a wireless solution that can easily cover about 100 ft or so is preferred. I already have a Wi-Fi network ready, but it's secured so anything using Wi-Fi should make it easy to set up security. Bonus points for doing it in under $85 shipped at Amazon (I'm hoping to pay for this via $85 worth of Amazon gift cards). I know this a pretty tight budget, so just getting close is okay. Bonus points for something that remembers multiple profiles (keep my favorite songs separate from the wife's). Bonus points for a remote that can also replace my stereo remote, so I only need one device to control everything. I'm not holding my breath on this one given my price range, though. Bonus points if I can also use for Internet radio. Doing some research on my own as well. I want to be able to add extra disc as we go along, with minimal maintenance required. Currently we've got about 3Tb of files we need to host, and that's likely to grow by another Tb every 6-12 months based on recent history. I need to be able to add additional disc with minimal pain needs to store all the media (i.e. photos, video, music) we have, and run services to serve the various devices we have in the house to playback (e.g. DAAP so we can play stuff through iTunes, ccxstream so we can play stuff over XBMC). DAAP and ccxstream are needed now, but we also need to support new standards as they emerge (so a closed-box solution isn't going to work) RAID 5, or something broadly equivalent (e.g. RAID-Z) BitTorrent client ssh, NFS, Samba access snapshot capability (as in ZFS), so we can snapshot individual file systems regularly and rollback when my kids delete their school assignments the day before they're due... ability to recover quickly from power outages (it's not unusual for us to have power outages that last longer than our UPS' batteries) FOSS software a modern distributed version control system running on the box, such as Mercurial Stuff I'd like to have on the server, but can live without: PVR capability, so I could record TV to the box Web server.   • What is auto-mounting my media volume?

    Something is repeatedly mounting my "media" share, doing something with it, then quietly un-mounting it with no notifications at the user level. from the little I can gleaned from the console messages below, I thought I'd managed to stop it, if not understand it last night when I followed instructions for deleting all traces of the Google Update Daemon. I've not been using any Google apps whatsoever, so I was surprised to see that in Console. What's more surprising, and perhaps a little distressing, is that the same thing occurred this evening, when the Google Daemon is long gone. I don't have that log because I can't recall precisely what time it occurred. I'll do a search and provide it if you wish, though. In the meantime, any help with this would be extremely appreciated. I've asked over at Apple Discussions but I think it might be a little deeper than those manning the boards this weekend are comfortable with. It's certainly beyond my meager skills.     Example of current file structure: example.com/foo.php example.com/bar.html example.com/directory/ example.com/directory/foo.php example.com/directory/bar.html example.com/cgi-bin/directory/foo.cgi I want to remove HTML, PHP and CGI extensions from, and then force the trailing slash at the end of URLs. So, it could look like this: example.com/foo/ example.com/bar/ example.com/directory/ example.com/directory/foo/ example.com/directory/bar/ example.com/cgi-bin/directory/foo/ I've searched for solution for 17 hours straight and visited more than a few hundred pages on various blogs and forums. I'm not joking. So I think I've done my research. Here is the code that sits in my .htaccess file right now: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}\.html -f RewriteRule ^(([^/]+/)*[^./]+)/$ $1.html RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(\.[a-zA-Z0-9]|/)$ RewriteRule (.*)$ /$1/ [R=301,L] As you can see, this code only removes .html (and I'm not very happy with it because I think it could be done a lot simpler). I can remove the extension from PHP files when I rename them to .html through .htaccess, but that's not what I want. I want to remove it straight. This is the first thing I don't know how to do. The second thing is actually very annoying. My .htaccess file with code above, adds .html/ to every string entered after example.com/directory/foo/. So if I enter example.com/directory/foo/bar (obviously /bar doesn't exist since foo is a file), instead of just displaying message that page is not found, it converts it to example.com/directory/foo/bar.html/, then searches for a file for a few seconds and then displays the not found message. This, of course, is bad behavior. So, once again, I need the code in .htaccess to do the following things: Remove .html extension Remove .php extension Remove .cgi extension Force the trailing slash at the end of URLs Requests should behave correctly (no adding trailing slashes or extensions to strings if file or directory doesn't exist on server) Code should be as simple as possible I would very much appreciate any help.     I would like to export some records from an EndNote (reference management software) library and import into a MySQL database. Does anyone have any experience with this? I've tried creating custom EndNote "output styles" containing either comma-delimited values or even SQL code, but have had mixed results, either because EndNote filters out some characters (like `) or because EndNote doesn't (or I can't work out how to make it) escape text, which might include characters like ' and ". I realize this might be a bit off-topic but any help would be appreciated.
