• runas command in windows 7

  Hi, I'm trying to run a batch file as admin. I found that I can use runas command which corresponds sudo command in Linux I think. I tried runas /noprofile /user:computername\adminuser "blah.bat start" But it gives an error, saying : Logon failure: user account restriction.. (msdos window doesn't allow me to coppy damn thing I hate dos anyway .. ) is there anyway, I can run this batch file as admin, right click doesn't work me because I can't give any parameter to it. Any help, I really really apreciated that.

• Setting the colour scheme for a Silverlight app from an external resource

  I have a Silverlight 3 application containing six custom user controls. I'd like to load the colour scheme for these controls from an external resource. The code and XAML containing a default colour scheme would be built in the XAP. Then a parameter on the object tag would contain a URL from where alternate colours can be dynamically loaded. By the way, the Silverlight 3 application theme feature could be used if that's possible but is really overkill. Only colours need to be changed. Is this possible and how would you recommend to do it?

• Uploadify refuses to upload WMV, FLV and MP4 files - SOLVED

  The uploadify plugin for JQuery seems very good and works for most file types. However, it allows me to upload all file types apart from the ones I need! Namely .WMV, .FLV and .MP4 Uploads of any other type work. I have already tried changing the fileExt parameter and also tried removing it altogether. I have testing in Google Chrome, IE7 and Firefox and none work for these file types. I have a ton of local projects already and uploading is not an issue on any other project, I even use the same example files (This is the first time I have used Uploadify) Is there a known reason for this behaviour? EDIT: Have found the issue. I had forgotten to add my usual .htaccess file to the example project.

Is there a better way to do this as in a way to fillin the text body box of gmail compose section. Or some way to open the page and have it prefilled with javascript some how...

  I've been programming in Asp.Net MVC for quite some time now and to expand a little bit beyond the .Net world I've recently began learning Python and Django. I am enjoying Django but one thing I am missing from Asp.Net MVC is the automatic routing from my urls to my controller actions. In Asp.Net MVC I can build much of my application using this single default route: routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults ); In Django I've found myself adding an entry to urls.py for each view that I want to expose which leads to a lot more url patterns than I've become used to in Asp.Net MVC. Is there a way to create a single url pattern in Django that will handle "[Application]/view/[params]" in a way similar to Asp.Net MVC? Perhaps at the main web site level?

• Use DivX settings to encode to mp4 with ffmpeg

  I'm used to use VirtualDub to encode a video to AVI container with DivX-codec (and MP3 for audio). Now I'm planning to use ffmpeg to encode videos to MP4 container with h264-codec. What I've figured out is that I need to use libx264 and one of those presets to make anything work. However, I'm amazed about the video bitrate ffmpeg uses for encoding. • Windows Server 2008 R2: ASP queries to IIS fail with UAC enabled

  I have some ASP code that creates a virtual directory in IIS. However, when running on IIS7 in Windows Server 2008 R2, the call to GetObject fails with "permission denied". This only occurs when UAC is enabled; the entire process works perfectly if UAC is disabled. Set objIIS = GetObject("IIS://localhost/W3SVC/" & siteNumber & "/Root") siteNumber itself is a valid parameter (as the system works fine if UAC is off). Any ideas of a workaround I can make for this? Unfortunately turning off UAC at this point is not an option.

But I do not understand how can I identify which and how many parameters have been passed to the webmethod to insert/update the data to the DB.Please could someone help me with this? thanks

• can i change membership provider GetAllUsers method?

  Hi i am using vb.net and the .net membership provider. i want to bring back a gridview with user account information, like GetAllUsers() does. However i want to only bring back users with certain profile information, that will be users whos profile information matches the selected value in a dropdownlist on the same page. I am using profile provider to record just one extra piece of user information. Can i change or override the GetAllUsers method for this? Adding an extra parameter so its GetAllUsers by Profile. Membership has a FindUsersByName method, i want to do something similar with users by Profile. I am very much a noob with .net programming so i hope i have explained this ok.

• asp.net - csharp - jquery - looking for a better and usage solution

  hi my dear friends i have a little problem about using jquery...(i reeally do not know jquery but i forced to use it) i am using vs 2008 - asp.net web app with c# also i am using telerik controls in my pages also i am using sqldatasources (Connecting to storedprocedures) in my pages my pages base on master and content pages and in content pages i have mutiviews ================================================================================= in one of the views(inside one of those multiviews)i had made two radcombo boxes for country and city requirement like cascading dropdowns as parent and child combo boxes. i used old way for doing that , i mean i used update panel and in the SelectedIndexChange Event of Parent RadComboBox(Country) i Wrote this code : protected void RadcomboboxCountry_SelectedIndexChanged(object o, RadComboBoxSelectedIndexChangedEventArgs e) { hfSelectedCo_ID.Value = RadcomboboxCountry.SelectedValue; RadcomboboxCity.Items.Clear(); RadcomboboxCity.Items.Add(new RadComboBoxItem(" ...", "5")); RadcomboboxCity.DataBind(); RadcomboboxCity.SelectedIndex = 0; } my child radcombo box can fill by upper code , let me tell you how : the child sqldatasource have a sp that has a parameter and i fill that parameter by this line - hfSelectedCo_ID.Value = RadcbCoNameInInsert.SelectedValue; RadcbCoNameInInsert.SelectedValue means country ID. after doing that SelectedIndexChange Event of Parent RadComboBox(Country) could not be fire therefore i forced to set the autopostback property to true. afetr doing that every thing was ok until some one told me can u control focus and keydown of your radcombo boxes (when u press enter key on the parent combobox[country] , so child combobox gets focus -- and when u press upperkey on child radcombobox [city], so parent combobox[country] gets focus) (For Users That Do Not Want To Use Mouse for Input Info And Choose items) i told him this is web app , not win form and we can not do that. i googled it and i found jquery the only way for doing that ... so i started using jquery . i wrote this code with jquery for both of them : <script src="../JQuery/jquery-1.4.1.js" language="javascript" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $('input[id$=RadcomboboxCountry_Input]').focus(); $('input[id$=RadcomboboxCountry_Input]').select(); $('input[id$=RadcomboboxCountry_Input]').bind('keyup', function(e) { var code = (e.keyCode ? • ff extension. how to pass parameters to a function in the oncommand attribute in menu

  I have a ff extension which creates a popup and shows dynamic data in it. basically when the popup opens a js function is run which then constructs the popup list by appending the items like this var myMenuPopup = document.getElementById("file-popup4"); newItem = document.createElement("menuitem"); newItem.setAttribute("label", namelist[m]); newItem.setAttribute("id", "item" + m); Now I need to have the click functionality too on these newly added menuitems. putting the atttribute and forming the function is easy. I can have a function to be run when they are clicked. But i need to pass namelist[i] to the function and it will act according to the namelist parameter.If i do: newItem.setAttribute("oncommand" , finalclick(namelist[m])); it runs the function everytime the popup opens runs the function without even clicking on it on the other hand if i use quotes i.i if i do newItem.setAttribute("oncommand" , "finalclick(namelist[m])"); it doesnot open even on clicking giving error : namelist is not defined.

• Displaying large file in JTextArea.

  Hi All, I'm currently working in Swing UI Assignment. This work involves showing large file content in JTextArea. The file size can be as large as 2 GB. My initial idea is to lazily load content from the file, say 1 MB of content will be shown to the user. As the user scrolls i will retrieve the next 1 MB of content to be shown. All these operation will be happening in background thread (Swing Worker). I looked at the JTextArea API, the method insert takes String and int(position of the insert) as the parameter. This will suffice, but i'm worried about performance, because the content (1 MB at a time) retrieved will have to be converted to String object. Is there any other work around or any other alternative/better solution for this.

• How to embed images in a single HTML / PHP file?

  Hi, I am creating a lightweight, single-file database administration tool and I would like to bundle some small icons with it. What is the best way to embed images in a HTML/PHP file? I know a method using PHP where I would call the same file with a GET parameter that would output hardcoded binary data with the correct header, but that seems a bit complicated. Can I use something to pass the image directly in a CSS background-image declaration? This would allow me to utilize the CSS sprite technique. Browser support isn't an issue here, so more exotic methods are welcome also. EDIT Does someone have a link/example to how to generate Data URL's properly with PHP? I'd figure echo 'data:image/png;base64,'.base64_encode(file_get_contents('image.png')) would suffice but I could be wrong.

• Django blog reply system

  hello, i'm trying to build a mini reply system, based on the user's posts on a mini blog. Every post has a link named reply. if one presses reply, the reply form appears, and one edits the reply, and submits the form.The problem is that i don't know how to take the id of the post i want to reply to. In the view, if i use as a parameter one number (as an id of the blog post),it inserts the reply to the database. But how can i do it by not hardcoding? • c# binarysearch a list<T> by a member of T

  I have a baseclass Event with a DateTime member TimeStamp. Lots of other event-classes will derive from this. I want to be able to search a list of events (that can contain events with duplicate timestamps) fast, so I'd like to use a binary search. So I started out writing something like this : public class EventList<T> : List<T> where T : Event { private IComparer<T> comparer = (x, y) => Comparer<DateTime>.Default.Compare(x.TimeStamp, y.TimeStamp); public IEnumerable<T> EventsBetween(DateTime inFromTime, DateTime inToTime) { // Find the index for the beginning. int index = this.BinarySearch(inFromTime, comparer); // BLAH REST OF IMPLEMENTATION } } The problem is that the BinarySearch only accepts T (so - an Event type) as parameter, while I want to search based on a member of T - the TimeStamp. What would be a good way to approach this ?
