  • Adding Insert Row in tableView

    Hello everyone, I have a tableView that loads its data directly from a Core Data table with a NSFetchedResultsController. I'm not using an intermediate NSMutableArray to store the objects from the fetch results; I basically implemented inside my UITableViewController the protocol method numberOfRowsInSection and it returns the numberOfObjects inside a NSFetchedResultsSectionInfo. id <NSFetchedResultsSectionInfo> sectionInfo = [[fetchedResultsController sections] objectAtIndex:section]; and then I configure the cell content by implementing configureCell:atIndexPath and retrieving object info from the fetchedResultController but right now I have a generic configuration for any object (to avoid complications) cell.textLabel.text = @"categoria"; I also have a NavigationBar with a custom edit button at the right that loads my own selector called customSetEditing. What I'm trying to accomplish is to load an "Insert Cell" at the beginning of the tableView so when I tap it, it creates a new record. I have seen many examples of similar situations in stackoverflow (by the way is an excellent forum with very helpful and nice people) none of the examples seems to work for me. Any ideas?

    Hi Al, I have a simple navigation based app which has a bunch fo forms in it, I have a method connected to a button that saves data when the button is tapped but I was wondering if I could call the same method when the back button is tapped in the navigation?     Part of the app I'm making requires the user to fill in a multi-page form, the contents of which will be saved locally (perhaps using Core Data). Are there any best practices for this? This form just includes text fields. I guess the options are UITextFields, or perhaps a UIWebView, with the fields as part of an html form? Are there are any best practices, or design patterns, which are good for this kind of thing?

    I am working with a compromised Ubuntu 8.04 Plesk 9.5.4 server. It seems that a script on the server is continuously doing reverse lookups to random IPs on the Internet. Can somebody please guide me using netstat or ps to identify from where sh is being run? I might get many suggestions that the OS is out of date and so the Plesk, but please bear in mind there are some very concrete reasons why this server is running legacy software. My question is aimed at a advanced Linux systems administrators who have in depth experience with security compromises and using netstat and ps to get to the bottom of it.

  • 50 million+ Rows of Data - CSV or MySQL

    Hello, I have a CSV file which is about 1GB big and contains about 50million rows of data, I am wondering is it better to keep it as a CSV file or store it as some form of a database. I don't know a great deal about MySQL to argue for why I should use it or another database framework over just keeping it as a CSV file. I am basically doing a Breadth-First Search with this dataset, so once I get the initial "seed" set the 50million I use this as the first values in my queue. Thanks,
