• NLB Accessed Denied from second server

  Hello Have NLB set up and working. Just two servers, web1 and web2. I set up NLB on web1 and can view both machines as Converged. (I had to specify a login/pass to connect to web2). On web2, looking at the NLB Manager, it only shows web2 and says in the log "Accessed Denied. Error connecting to web1". Any ideas how to fix?

• TempDB is Full Issue for SQL Server 2000

  Even though the log file shows that there is over 1 GB of free space, we start receiving an error message every 3 or 4 days saying that the TempDB file is full. I know cursors impact the TempDB file, but is there anything else I should be looking at to see why this keeps happening? I've tried running SQL Profiler, but when running it, it slowed down the DB so much that the users were experiencing timeouts. What specific items should I check for in SQL Profiler?

• Missing computer?

  I'm trying to find a computer at work that we can't find the physical location of. There's no documentation in the inventory of it but it responds to nslookup, ping, and i can log onto it and edit it's files. However, we have no idea where in the building it is. Anyone have any good ideas for finding it outside of making it beep repetitively and annoying people while i run around looking for it?

  We've been hitting the max open files limit on a few services recently. There are also a bunch of other limits in place. Is there a way to monitor how close processes are to these limits so we can be alerted when it's time to either up the limits or fix the root cause? On the same note, is it possible to view a log of these events so we know when a crash occurs it's because of hitting one of these limits?

Using Ricoh UPD 3.10 and every time a user log on into a Citrix Session and get the printers connected (via logon script) Windows shows the "Finishing installation..." dialog for every printer. The Drivers are installed on all Citrix Server and every time a user connects a printer the dialog appears. Are there any settings how to disable this behaviour?

  How do you allow a user to log in using "su - user" but prevent the user from login in using SSH? I tried to set the shell to /bin/false but the when I try to su it doesn't work. Are there several ways to only allo logins by su? Is SSH's AllowUser the way to go? (how would I do this if it's the way to go)

A hugely annoying hurtle I'm encountering is this: When I resize my XP windows at all (usually by mistake), it automatically logs me off (or Locks), requiring me to log in. I can't put the definitions into .profile or similar because the users I log in as are often shared with others who use the same systems and I don't have control of this. Also healthchecks for these webservers are also configured in HAProxy. option httpchk HEAD /healthcheck.txt HTTP/1.0 Is it possible to transfer these healthcheck requests to backend webservers as "LB-Check" User-agent or any other option, so that I can distinguish it from other log entries? However I dont want to go for "dontlog" option, as I dont want to miss these entries.
