  I am working on a project where i need to create a database with 300 tables for each user who wants to see the demo application. it was working fine but today when i was testing with a new user to see a demo it showed me this error message 1030 Got error 28 from storage engine After spending some time googling i found it is an error that is related to space of database or temporary files. I tried to fix it but i failed. now i am not even able to start mysql. How can i fix this and i would also like to increase the size to maximum so that i won't face the same issue again and again.

• How to make a staging table in ms sql 2005?

  Hi I heard about doing staging tables and I am wondering how you actually do it. I want to do a sqlbulk copy into a staging table. Then then update the real table. I heard in mssql 2008 that you can use something called merge but I am using ms sql 2005 so I heard I have to use a update inner join? I am not sure how that would look like(I am guessing best way would be to write it in SP). Also the staging table needs to be able to handle concurrent updates. I was thinking of putting another column in the staged as GUID so that way I know which records belong to which group and when it is time to delete the records from the staged table I can just use that. So can anyone show me any examples or tutorials on how to do it? Also how fast is this way? Say if your updating 50,000 records how long would that take(a guesstimate is fine)

Is there anyway to get around this? How about this. I've an object that contains only integers, which is fine for all the internal functionings as it allows me to link tables. But occasionaly, I need to display some information to the user. That's why, I'd like to create a static method so it would read the integer, look up in the DB, and display a name instead of a number. I want it to be a static method so that I can use it in my View template. Thanks for helping

  I like using LINQ to SQL. The only problem is that I don't like the default way of updating tables. Let's say I have the following table with the following columns: ID (primary key), value1, value2, value3, value4, value5 When I need to update something I call UPDATE ... WHERE ID=@id LINQ to SQL call UPDATE ... WHERE ID=@id and value1=@value1 and value2=@value2 and value3=@value3 and value4=@value4 and value5=@value5 I can override this behavior by adding UpdateCheck=UpdateCheck.Never to every column, but with every update of the DataContext class with the GUI, this will be erased. Is there any way to tell LINQ to use this way of updating data?

  I'm building a MySQL query but I can't seem to get it right. I have four tables: - customers - orders - sales_rates - purchase_rates There is a 1:n relation 'customernr' between customers and orders. There is a 1:n relation 'ordernr' between orders and sales_rates. There is a 1:n relation 'ordernr' between orders and purchase_rates. What I would like to do is produce an output of all customers with their total purchase and sales amounts. So far I have the following query. SELECT c.customernr, c.customer_name, SUM(sr.sales_price) AS sales_price, SUM(pr.purchase_price) AS purchase_price FROM orders o, customers c, sales_rates sr, purchase_rates pr WHERE o.customernr = c.customernr AND o.ordernr = sr.ordernr AND o.ordernr = pr.ordernr GROUP BY k.bedrijfsnaam The result of the sales_price and purchase_price is far too high. I seem to be getting double counts. What am I doing wrong? Is it possible to perform this in a single query? Thank for your response!

• Extendable accessing of sqlite database on android platform

  Hi, I am fairly new to the android sdk and databases and have been searching for an answer to this quite some time. I am trying to build an app which has multiple tables within a database. e.g. one for weapons, armours etc. However, my DatabaseManager class which handles all of my table creating, DatabaseHelper inner class and populating of data is creating for an extremely large class requiring high maintenance. Every time I would like to add or remove a table column I need to change quite a few areas of code, - Every reference to the addition of a row in that table with data - The method that the above calls - The method returning all of the database rows - The code in the helper class creating the table - Any specific update methods My question is this: Surely there must be some better way of coding this system, maybe using a database isn't the best way to go, or am i just not used to such large classes having only learned java at university and my largest class consisting of a mere 400-600 lines of code. Right now all of my tables are joined into my users table foreign keyed into the "userId" field How do i integrate asp.net_users table into my schema? here are the ideas i thought of: Add a membership_id field to my users table and on new inserts, include that new field in my users table. This seems like the cleanest way as i dont need to break any existing relationships. break all existing relationship and move all of the fields in my user table into the asp.net_users table. This seems like a pain but ultimately will lead to the most simple, normalized solution any thoughts?

Basic math: 949324-937796=11528. Numeric values are stored as number datatypes. What am I missing here?

• fastest way to perform string search in general and in python

  My task is to search for a string or a pattern in a list of documents that are very short (say 200 characters long). However, say there are 1 million documents of such time. What is the most efficient way to perform this search?. I was thinking of tokenizing each document and putting the words in hashtable with words as key and document number as value, there by creating a bag of words. Then perform the word search and retrieve the list of documents that contained this word. From what I can see is this operation will take O(n) operations. Is there any other way? may be without using hash-tables?. Also, is there a python library or third party package that can perform efficient searches?

• My table cells don't highlight immediately when touched

  Hi, In my app, I have a table view that has about eight cells. There is a navigation bar at the top. When a user touches a cell, nothing happens for about 1/2 second. Then the touched cell highlights blue and immediately the new view slides into position. The problem is that there is no feedback to the user about which cell he touched until just before the new view slides into position. For example, when I explore the tables in the iPhone's Settings application, when you touch a cell, the cell immediately turns blue, and then there is a 1/2 second delay, and then you see the new view. How do I get my table's feedback of highlighting the cells to happen immediately? I am using tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:, and each cell has an accessory button. Thanks for any insight.

• Creating audit triggers in SQL Server

  I need to implement change tracking on two tables in my SQL Server 2005 database. I need to audit additions, deletions, updates (with detail on what was updated). I was planning on using a trigger to do this, but after poking around on Google I found that it was incredibly easy to do this incorrectly, and I wanted to avoid that on the get-go. Can anybody post an example of an update trigger that accomplishes this successfully and in an elegant manner? I am hoping to end up with an audit table with the following structure: ID LogDate TableName TransactionType (update/insert/delete) RecordID FieldName OldValue NewValue ... but I am open for suggestions.   We have have a table layout with property names in one table, and values in a second table, and items in a third. (Yes, we're re-implementing tables in SQL.) We join all three to get a value of a property for a specific item. Unfortunately the values can have multiple data types double, varchar, bit, etc. Currently the consensus is to stringly type all the values and store the type name in the column next to the value. tblValues DataTypeName nvarchar Is there a better, cleaner way to do this?

  I have two tables: DRIVER (Driver_Id,First name,Last name,...) PARTICIPANT IN CAR ACCIDENT (Participant_Id,Driver_Id-foreign key,responsibility-yes or no,...) Now, I need to find out which driver participated in accident where responsibility is 'YES', and how many times. I did this: Select Driver_ID, COUNT (Participant.Driver_ID)as 'Number of accidents' from Participant in car accident where responsibility='YES' group by Driver_ID order by COUNT (Participant.Driver_ID) desc But, I need to add drivers first and last name from the first table(using inner join, I suppose). I don't know how, because it is not contained in either an aggregate function or the GROUP BY clause. Please help :)

• Quicktabs with AJAX Views

  I'm working in Drupal 7 with the quicktabs and views modules. I have a great looking tabbed set of tables filled with data. However, despite all the views having AJAX turned on, trying to do a column sort (or use the pager I imagine though currently there is not enough content to require one) causes the page to reload with a new URL instead of simply reloading the view in question. I found on Drupal some fixes for this problem but all seem to be in Drupal 6. Anyone have a patch for 7?

I have the three following tables: users (id, name) products (id, name) owners (userid, productid, date) One product can be sold by user A to user B and then back to A. Now, I want the list of all products currently owned by every single user with the date of transaction. Currently, my query is this one, but I'm stuck with old data (first association of one product to one user, and not the newest one): SELECT users.name, products.name, date FROM products JOIN owners ON products.id = owners.id JOIN users ON owners.id = user.id GROUP BY product.id Do you have some hints?
