My initial research found that MagicDraw and Casewise claim support for version 2.0; and several other tools have support for earlier (or unspecified) DoDAF/MoDAF versions including Sparx Enterprise Architect, Troux, IDS Scheer ARIS, Artisan Studio and Rational System Architect. Experiences with any enterprise architecture tools and DoDAF 2.0 would be appreciated. First few questions: What is Upgrade Code? Advanced installer has option, Product Version (identify by Upgrade Code) What is Product Code? Advanced installer Product Version (identify by Product Code) Component is installed : GUID. What is GUID? All the above three has values like this: {49EB7A6A-1CEF-4A1E-9E89-B9A4993963E3} I don't know what these values are but it seems that computer is recognizing software using this kind of strange ID. My required applications are MySQL DBMS MySQL .NET Connector One fact that I discovered is Upgrade Code & Product Code can be extracted from its "msi installer". I don't want to ship the assemblies with my deployed files.

  • StreamReader.ReadToEnd() returning an empty string

    I have a method private static String DecompressAndDecode(byte[] data) { GZipStream decompressor = new GZipStream(new MemoryStream(data), CompressionMode.Decompress); StreamReader decompressed = new StreamReader(decompressor, Encoding.UTF8); String result = decompressed.ReadToEnd(); return result; } I have some GZipped text as input and the result is supposed to be a String representation of this text. The problem is that the method returns an empty string. What is puzzling me is that when I step trough the method in debug mode and reach the return statement the result variable is an empty string but if I create a watch for the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression it returns me the text. What I would expect at this point is the result variable to contain the text and the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression evaluating to an empty string. (Reevaluating the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression returns an empty string as expected). There must be something obvious I'm missing here.

    I am new to mqseries and I started with IBM WebSphere MQ curses. There are examples with MQ_APPLE and MQ_ORANGE queue managers. I have no problem with sending messages to local or remote queue with MQ Explorer, but I wanted to send such message from code: Python or Java. My questions are: When I open the url with the browser, appears the "Save File" dialog... but it seems like the server has started already to push data into the stream before I click "Save", is that normal? If I remove the line"response.Flush()", when I open the url with the browser, ... I see how the web server is pushing data but the "Save File" dialog doesn't come up, (or at least not in a reasonable time fashion) why? When I open the url with a WebRequest object, I see that the HttpResponse.ContentLength is "-1", although I can read the stream and get the file. What is the meaning of -1? When is HttpResponse.ContentLength going to show the length of the response? For example, I have a method that retrieves a big xml compresed with deflate as a binary stream, but in that case... when I access it with a WebRequest, in the HttpResponse I can actually see the ContentLength with the length of the stream, why? What is the optimal length for the Byte[] array that I use as buffer for optimal performance in a web server? I've read that is between 4K and 8K... but which factors should I consider to make the correct decision. Does this method bloat the IIS or client memory usage? or is it actually buffering the transference correctly? Sorry for so many questions, I'm pretty new in web development :P Cheers.

    I want to write a String to a Stream (a MemoryStream in this case) and read the bytes one by one. stringAsStream = new MemoryStream(); UnicodeEncoding uniEncoding = new UnicodeEncoding(); String message = "Message"; stringAsStream.Write(uniEncoding.GetBytes(message), 0, message.Length); Console.WriteLine("This:\t\t" + (char)uniEncoding.GetBytes(message)[0]); Console.WriteLine("Differs from:\t" + (char)stringAsStream.ReadByte()); The (undesired) result I get is: This: M Differs from: ? It looks like it's not being read correctly, as the first char of "Message" is 'M', which works when getting the bytes from the UnicodeEncoding instance but not when reading them back from the stream. What am I doing wrong? The bigger picture: I have an algorithm which will work on the bytes of a Stream, I'd like to be as general as possible and work with any Stream. I'd like to convert an ASCII-String into a MemoryStream, or maybe use another method to be able to work on the String as a Stream. The algorithm in question will work on the bytes of the Stream.

    Hi, Does anyone know the current state of SVG SMIL animation support in the popular browsers? It looks like Safari, Chrome, and Opera support it. Firefox has confusing reports in their dev pages about SMIL support having been added, but I don't see it as of v3.6: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216462 I am ignoring IE since they don't even support SVG at all, and probably never will, much less SMIL. The other thing - just comparing this test page between Safari, Chrome, and Opera: http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/svg/ovaling.svg looks like Opera is the only one that renders it correctly. Should we not be using SMIL - kind of looks half-baked in all the browsers (sadly)? Blast. Thanks

Does anybody provide Visual Studio support for *IL in the form of: project templates, IntelliSense integration, and those kind of RAD features? Edits: I don't mean restricted to out of the box support. For example, I can download Visual Studio extensions to support Python, COBOL, etc. Want the same for *IL.     We're interested in moving from a source control system that supports the concept of shared or linked files. A shared file means: a file modified in one project, is automatically updated changed in every other project that uses that same file. It does this without a developer having to request it, reverse-integrate it, ask for it, or even want it. We're trying to see if any other commonly used source-control systems can meet our needs, and include linked or shared files. My limited research shows that: Team Foundation Server doesn't support sharing files Subversion doesn't support sharing files (including Externals) CVS doesn't support sharing files (including Modules) Anything else? (besides our current source control product, obviously) References Subversion and shared files across repositories/projects? How to share files between CVS projects? Will TFS ever support shared files for projects under source control?

I'm currently developing a Channel/Stream of DataFlowVariables, which may be written by one producer and read by one consumer as the implementation is destructive/mutable.   • Matlab - Propagate points orthogonally on to the edge of shape boundaries

    Hi I have a set of points which I want to propagate on to the edge of shape boundary defined by a binary image. The shape boundary is defined by a 1px wide white edge. I also have the coordinates of these points stored in a 2 row by n column matrix. The shape forms a concave boundary with no holes within itself made of around 2500 points. I want to cast a ray from each point from the set of points in an orthogonal direction and detect at which point it intersects the shape boundary at. What would be the best method to do this? Are there some sort of ray tracing algorithms that could be used? Or would it be a case of taking orthogonal unit vector and multiplying it by a scalar and testing after multiplication if the end point of the vector is outside the shape boundary. When the end point of the unit vector is outside the shape, just find the point of intersection? Thank you very much in advance for any help!

  • StremReader.ReadToEnd() returning an empty string

    I have a method private static String DecompressAndDecode(byte[] data) { GZipStream decompressor = new GZipStream(new MemoryStream(data), CompressionMode.Decompress); StreamReader decompressed = new StreamReader(decompressor, Encoding.UTF8); String result = decompressed.ReadToEnd(); return result; } I have some GZipped text as input and the result is supposed to be a String representation of this text. The problem is that the method returns an empty string. What is puzzling me is that when I step trough the method in debug mode and reach the return statement the result variable is an empty string but if I create a watch for the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression it returns me the text. What I would expect at this point is the result variable to contain the text and the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression evaluating to an empty string. (Reevaluating the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression returns an empty string as expected). There must be something obvious I'm missing here.
