That contains just languages: LANGUAGE_LIS = ( (1, 'English'), (2, 'Turkish'), (3, 'Spanish') ) class Person(models.Model): languages = models.CharField(max_length=100, choices=LANGUAGE_LIST) #languages is multi value (CheckBoxSelectMultiple) and here person_save_form: class person_save_form(forms.ModelForm): languages = forms.CharField(widget=forms.CheckBoxSelectMultiple(choices=LANGUAGE_LIST)) class Meta: model = Person it is ok. but how can i search persons for languages like "get persons who knows turkish and english" in the database (MySQL) record "languages" column seen like "[u'1', u'2']". but i want search persons like this: persons = Person.objects.filter(languages__in=request.POST.getlist('languages'))

  • Autocomplete or Select box? (design problem)

    I'm working on a comparison website, so needless to say the search function is the primary feature of the site. I have two input text boxes and a search button. At the moment, the input text boxes use Ajax to query the database and show a drop-down box, but I'm wondering if it would be more intuitive to use a select box instead? The second box is dependant on the first, as when the first is selected theres another ajax query so only the available options for the first selection appear in the autocomplete box. Autocomplete Pros: - "Feels" right? - Looks more appealing than a select box (css design)? Cons: - the user has to be instructed on how to use the search (made to think?) - Only really works off the bat with javascript enabled. - The user may get confused if they type in what they want and no box appears (i.e., no results) Select Box Pros: - Can bring up the list of options / know whats there from the outset. - We use select boxes every day (locations etc.) so we're used to how they work. (more intuitive?) Cons: - Can look a little unaesthetic when theres too many options to choose from. I'm thinking maybe at most around 100 options for my site over time. Any thoughts on how I could go about this would be appreciated!

    I am running Apache 2.2.17 on Suse Linux 11. I have installed the mod_authn_dbd module to allow authentication using a MySQL database. Simple digest authentication works absolutely fine using the following directive: AuthDBDUserRealmQuery "SELECT loginPassword FROM login WHERE loginUser = %s and loginRealm = %s" However, I would like to both generalize this statement and prepare it for performance and security reasons. If i filter the records based on conditions the last record is missing. I tried many ways but still it is failing. Here update_log is my table.     I'm stuck with recursion, was wondering if anyone can help me out with it. I have <Receipts> and <Deposits> elements, that are not verbose, i.e. that a <Receipts> element doesn't have an attribute to show what <Deposit> it is towards. I need to figure out <Deposits> "still amount due" and when a last receipt towards it was paid if any. I'm trying to do it with the following code: The idea was to take 1st deposit and see if there are receipts. If the deposit isn't fully paid and there are more receipts - call that recorsive function with all the same params except now count in following receipt. If there aren't any more receipts or deposit is payed - process it correctly (add required attributes). Otherwise proceed with 2nd deposit. And so on. However, the XSLT crashes with error message that "a processor stack has overflowed - possible cause is infinite template recursion" I would really appreciate any help/teps... I'm not that great with recursion and can't understand why mine here doesn't work.     Hi, I read from a sqlite db to my iphone app. Within the texts sometimes there are special characters like 'xf2' or 'xe0' as I can see in the debugger in the char* data type. When I try to transform the chars to an NSString Object by using initWithUTF8String, I get a nil back. How can I transform such special characters? Thanks for your help. Bye Matthias

    Hi all, I am using this script to apply style on a select box. It works fine as a standalone version. But I also need to apply a jump menu functionality on this select box. I tried adding a function but it seems that there is some conflict between the two scripts. The jquery styling and the jump menu function can't work together at the same time. Can you help me fix it?
